This is where we get it wrong all the time. When you use someone as a scapegoat in case of inefficiencies others will buckle up. Of course the bucks stop at the table if those entrusted with authorities, and when they fail a higher authority is supposed to discipline or call them to order. |

That's just the reality We abuse our government because their actions or inaction most times is the root cause of the accidents, but as you rightly read, this one was caused by failing to stop for the RED light. |

Crime › Re: My Cousin Was Just Raped And I Don't Know What To Do. by ige101(m): 12:52pm On Jul 08, 2025 |
You shouldalsone angry with yourselffir not stopping her from meeting the man about gettinga job for you. That was where she sold herselfout. If you knowand u are sure the man can be dealtwith, then go ahead irrespectiveof what the girl says Casham: My cousin just told me last night that she just got raped on Sunday afternoon/evening (6th July, 2025).
I stay with them for now. She's 18, the first of two daughters and was still virgin (as far as I know). Her only [older] brother is in school.
She's been acting funny since on Sunday evening. She couldn't hold it in anymore and, since there is no one else she could actually confide in, she confided in me. Now she's begging me not to tell anyone and not to cause trouble. She only wants me to help her get a drug (if any) that will prevent pregnancy.
She told me about the man coming to see her in her mother's restaurant and said she was going to talk to the man about getting me a job, but when she went into his car, he forced himself on her.
Honestly I am angry right now! I am angry at three things:
First, I am angry at my family. I have a family where the children are afraid to open up, because if you do, you will be blamed and castigated upon. I understand her fear and apprehension about letting other people know, but I just can't let this go.
Secondly, I am angry at our society. How can a man confidently feels he can force himself on a lady and get away with it? What kind of society do we have?
Thirdly, I am angry at myself. I am angry because I feel helpless. I can't let this thing go. I have to deal with this man, but I don't know how to do it without putting my cousin in a difficult position. I have tried to let her know that it is not her fault and that the man needs to pay for this, but she's been begging me to just let it go. She only confided in me because she's really scared of getting pregnant.
According to her though, there was never any real penetration, but the man (who is a high ranking government official) actually "released" ON her, not IN her. (Does that even make sense?) How can I handle this issue right now? For me, I am planning to go all out and let hell break loose and let the heavens fall if they have to. |

Politics › Re: Okpebholo Didn’t Invite Me To His Inauguration - Obaseki by ige101(m): 9:29pm On Nov 09, 2024 |
Richtaiwo: I agree it is wrong to exclude a sitting gov from an inauguration ceremony in which he is a key stakeholder. It is indeed very despicable and unhealthy for the incoming administration which will also handover one day.
Having said that, can Obaseki himself tell us what his administration, which is still in force, has done in preparation for the handing over ceremony coming up in about 72 hours from now?
Secondly, Obaseki should realise the gov elect is responsible, to a very large extent, preparation for inauguration ceremony ushering in his administration. Yes, the outgoing gov can express his displeasure on some arrangements and indeed remove them, but he is also responsible for inviting the incoming to brief him on the plan. Did he do that? Additionally, the incoming is completely free to invite whomsoever he wishes to grace his inauguration.
Lastly, he borrowed some expressions from Peter obi "stolen mandate." Can the gov explain how a mandate was stolen? Or is it that any election that doesn't favour you is automatically a stolen manhood?
Ipob miscreants have introduced a concept in Nigeria electoral system. When election doesn't favour you, it becomes a stolen manhood. Okay oh. You were making sense until u introduced IPOB into what they ordinarily should be dragged into. If u will recall, every election lost by the APC then when PDP was the ruling party was always rigged in their eyes, but the table has changed now, and that is exactly the same cry the opposition are crying. |

You deserve commendations for this comment. So the farmers and the Middle men should sell at very low price, while they buy other common everyday items at a ridiculously high price? mistacoco2: Hello guys,
For some days now I have been on a serious dilemma whether to resign from my federal government job that pays me above N200k for my current position and migrate to the UK or stay in naija and set up a business to augment my salary. I will be 34 years next year, I feel traveling to the uk for studies next year September will delay my chances of getting married, as I have planned not exceeding 34 years without getting married.
I belong to the school of thought that believes can make it in Nigeria despite all odds. However, considering the economic realities of the country, I have recently contemplating of japa and maybe get a Nigerian lady for marriage after my studies.
Please I earnestly need matured advice from you guys to know how to start the coming year.
