MentalCase98:I'll help you out. Start by googling obsession. Figure out what it means first. And then ask yourself if you used the work properly. Hint: You haven't. Then reread the shit you just posted. Ask yourself, who was going to prosecute Obama for war crimes in the US? Name me the law and or statute he would be prosecuted under. I'm sure your take of US politics sounds smart to the ignorant and stupid people who you surround yourself with. I'm neither. I have a low threshold for stupid people, moreso for stupid people who post misinformation and moreso for stupid degenerates. You're the trifecta. Why don't you get back to sexually harassing woman on here or opening up new usernames.. It only takes you 2 minutes huh? (What grown man gloats about that?) You are the true Nairaland Troll Champion. Well done. #Lifegoals right? |
MentalCase98:Obvious take from someone who has 0 understanding of US politics. There was no gentleman's agreement and most President's don't commit crimes. Trump tried to prosecute Hillary Clinton (How we all forget Lock her up), Bill Clinton and Obama. He even tried to prosecute John Kerry. The thing about the US, if someone isn't guilty of something, it's hard to indict and prosecute them. You should leave your Nigerian sensibilities of politics in Nigeria. The nonsense that is posted in this thread. |
bemeruca:The judge did not strike down the deal. She explicitly said, "I'm not going to say I'm going to accept the agreement, I'm not going to say I'll deny it,". One of the reasons she held it up was a technical constitutional matter. If you want to parrot stupid talking points at least make then factual. You should also probably go do some research on what types of jail sentences people receive who end up paying their back taxes. Most if not all credible attorneys believe this was overcharged. That is if you actually care about learning anything. But I doubt you do. So, continue on being a useful idiot or just an idiot. |
All this misinformation flows from Giuliani. He admits today that he was lying about fraud in Georgia during the election. Imagine how many people's lives he's hurt and destroyed (including the Jan. 6th people who actually believed his lies) for a naked power grab. Also the person Giuliani and Trump sent to drum up this fake Ukraine stuff about Joe Biden spoke up recently about the allegations and what he did. Giuliani will either flip or get indicted. And how long before the MAGA cultists start calling him a member of the deep state? Since the MAGA cultists prefer watching video to reading, I've included a video of Lev Parnas (Giuliani's partner in the Ukraine stuff) discussing what he did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mySw2-N0wZY |
budaatum:Look at this thread. They use the mentally unstable and uneducated like Basilico who have all the time in the world to repeatedly post this nonsense. If you repeat something long enough, some people will believe it is true. Republicans are very good at propaganda and lying shamelessly. |
Rudy Giuliani finally admitted that he lied about the two Georgia election workers (Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss), he accused of rigging the 2020 election and counting extra votes. The people in this thread who repeatedly posted this nonsense and repeatedley refer to Giuliani as a credible source on anything should reflect on why you are so gullible and always fall for conmen. https://www.newsweek.com/rudy-giuliani-election-workers-georgia-lawsuit-1815422

budaatum:The GOP in it's current form is dead. It has to be. Trump pulled back the curtain and revealed the BS that it was. Overturning Roe V. Wade sealed the deal. |
basilico:Wow. No one prevented blacks from running business since 1865? I guess you've been reading Florida's African American History curriculum. Start by reading up on the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre as just one example. And FYI 1921 came after 1865. Jesus, I can't imagine walking though life constantly being a fool. A good quote for you. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" |
Obrigardo:He has mistaken people getting tired of his buffoonery and leaving the thread for somehow having actual thoughtful posts. |
basilico:Yeah, this happens to be the "American Politics Thread - Joe Biden’s Presidency/Road To 2024!". If you don't like the discussion of slavery/racism in America as it pertains to the election (Desantis' School reforms), you should find another thread to troll in. |
TookDownYourMum:Thanks for the posts. Good read. |
bemeruca:How much self hate does it take for a Nigerian to argue that Nigerian/African slaves transported to the US were better off in the US rahter than Nigeria/Africa because of skills they may have learned there like blacksmithing. Really, how much do you hate yourself and the country you live in? |
TookDownYourMum:Right. Unfortunately didn't study Nigerian History. But being utterly stupid is a trend in the US right now esp. in the MAGA movement. One of the members of the committee who wrote these reforms (unfortunately a lost black woman) thanked God for slavery, claiming “if it wasn’t for slavery, I might be somewhere in Africa worshiping a tree". Tell me what tree is that you worship? Just kidding obviously. |
Princedapace:I'm with you. I'm not sure what people are arguing against. Watching parts of that election on Twitter left me dumbfounded and embarrassed. Election officials literally put ballots in Tupperware containers and called them secure? Nigeria can't grow or work if people are comfortable with it as is. |
basilico:Your post wasn't sarcasm. Just a moment of honesty you now regret. Why don't you tell us about this "good" degree you have and the IVY league school you went to to get it. Since with DEI you clearly could have gotten into one right? basilico:Yes!!!! YES YOU DO! The fact that you don't seem to understand that says everything about you. And so, because we don't have time machines, we find other ways to get as close to that knowledge as possible. It's the reason archaeologists spend millions doing their digs for artifacts, paleontologists dig for dinosaur bones and anthropologists live with the people they study. It's the reason subject matter experts exist who dedicate their lives to understanding Roman culture by pouring over historical texts, studying Latin and Greek, so they can come as close as possible to understanding works as it was written at the time. When I was in highschool I had to learn Latin so I could study some texts that were originally written in Latin with the understanding that even someone's slight translation of a word may change the text's meaning. I can't even believe I had to write that. But that is the difference between you and I. I understand the limits of my understanding. I am comfortable doing my extensive research before speaking, fact checking the shit I post, knowing who is a subject matter expert and who is just some random dumbass on twitter and if I can't I don't opine. You don't, so you post bullshit here that is repeatedly wrong and that would have taken you 1 minute to fact check on google or a minute for a reasonably smart person to think if it made sense. Read Malcolm Gladwell's outliers and you'll maybe begin to understand expertise and what it takes to get it. |
basilico:Because to gain understanding of something you can do it simply by sitting in your village in Nigeria? Right? Idiot, get a passport, put some stamps in it, visit the countries and understand the culture of the places you repeatedly talk about, diversify your network, diversify the cultures of the people you know, diversify the things you read, use your mind when you do read and take your medication for whatever mental disorder you clearly have. Then, maybe.. maybe you may say something that has some understanding behind it. A post ago, you didn't have a college degree. Now you have a "good" one? Lol. Ok.. |
basilico:I was speaking to my niece today and explaining to her the concept of "not knowing what you don't know". I think it's a concept you should learn as well. You dive into every topic with the slimmest understanding of it and always come out looking stupid-er. The 99th percentile refers to where your score ranked in the SAT, the exam Colleges required (when I applied) for entry and mostly every College applicant took. So, yes, that 99th percentile meant my score was.. better than 98 percent of every other college applicant who took the test that year. Based on the trash you post here, I would have guessed you didn't have a College Degree. As I said posts back, I wondered what schools allowed you to graduate with the limited ability to reason you've shown here. Acknowledging you don't have a degree gives me more faith in Nigerian schools. Anyhow, I'm done with this topic with you. You seem to bring up my schooling more than I do. Why is that? |
basilico:You're jealousy and stupidity have left you babbling online. You are somehow arguing that people who went to Harvard aren't some of the best applicants and some of the smartest? All IVY league schools try to get the same pool of students and target the same percentage of African American Students in their class and so have similar Affirmative Action Programs. I scored in the 99th percentile in my entrance exams. So I can say I was in the 99th percentile. Your argument is somehow that no Black person can score similarly to white people in standardized tests? I feel sorry for your indoctrinated warped mind. Again, you had the same ability to use DEI to apply to top schools as other Nigerian students from Nigeria who were in my class. Why didn't you get in to any? Spend more time figuring out why you weren't good enough instead of tearing down those who were. |
I wonder how people would react if someone forced students to learn how Holocaust survivors learned skills beneficial to them, like how to dig graves. People only think it's ok to rationalize slavery because it's Black people. Further crazy that this is what DeSantis who hoped to be President was comfortable proposing. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/21/us/desantis-florida-black-history-standards.html

Patented:Ahh.. No trails. Surprising. The road bike was my first thought. But a friend cautioned that it was really unsafe (he lives on the island). How do they clubs navigate the traffic? |
I'm going to spend some time in Lagos the next few months. I was thinking of bringing one of my bikes for exercise. Are there any bike groups/clubs that ride regularly? How do you deal with the traffic? Also are there any bike trails/paths that are safe if I bring a gravel/mountain bike instead? |
wirinet:I hear you. I don't get involved, because the more people make irrational arguments against it, the more it forces me to think about it. And the more I think about the more I don't see a rational argument against it (outside of minors). Religious sensibilities aren't a rational argument in a country with freedom of Religion and a supposed "separation" of Church and State. In fact given this is a politics thread, it should be discussed here in terms of how it effects the election. If people want to discuss transsexuality in general, why not just start a new thread? |
basilico:You don't seem to understand how Affirmative Action works/worked. Like most things you discuss here. Affirmative Action doesn't take wholly unqualified students and drop them in. It takes students who are mostly qualified, high GPA's and maybe a lower SAT score than the other applicants to fill out the percentage of students they want. Say the avg. Harvard SAT score is a 1500. They may accept someone who scored a 1200, which would still be around the 78th percentile. And the Harvard freshman class is roughly 2000 students with roughly 7% being African American. So, that would be ~140 African American Students in a class. So, let's posit someone got in based on Affirmative Action. That means that student was probably still a better applicant than 78% of the people taking the SAT and given they only accept 140 African Americans a given year, probably one of the best African American applicant that year. So, the question then becomes why didn't DEI help you into an IVY? And before you begin with you live in Nigeria, my g/f went to one of the top 4 schools in the US if not the world and she applied from SS in Nigeria. But, I buried the lead. My high school that I tested in to is a Harvard feeder school. |
I wish this I could say this ad was made up. This is where Republicans are today. This is what they are against. This is basically Marjorie Taylor Greene endorsing Biden. Note: Was just looking for a youtube vid of the ad. Didn't watch anything beyond it and so I am not vouching for any comments outside the ad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o_u0PEJFa4 |
MentalCase98:Yes, you're right, it's not that serious. So why do you keep mentioning me? On this new moniker I'm sure 75% of your posts have either mentioned me or alluded to me. You seemed obsessed with me like your idiot brethren Benalvino3. FYI. I don't like guys. Try this, Try not to respond to, mention or allude to me for 30 days. If you can't, just change your name to ImobsessedwithIjeBos99. (Using ur naming convention/moniker count). |
MentalCase98:Yes, anyone can. As evidenced by you and your 100 monikers or does the 98 represent how many monikers have been banned. Honestly, I don't give a sh*t what you and your diseased mind believes. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPLY TO ME! You live on this Forum. Put down your phone, wash your a$$, go outside and get some fresh air. |
MentalCase98:This is the dumb sh*t I'm talking about. You are trying to attack me because of a picture of my family's Rolls Royce while the other members of the Brain Dead Brigade are trying to attack me for going to Harvard? Huh? If it were Harvard-Yale weekend the latter may make sense. Maybe one of you went to Yale.. lol.. Let me stop.. lol Maybe I should say "Thank You"... for CONTINUOUSLY mentioning all these great things about me? Lol. The rampant stupidity of you three is breathtaking. |
bemeruca:As if you even know who the writer is. Generally people read something and then dispute the arguments or facts. Idiots generally result to ad hominems. That is Latin for at/to the man/person. (Yeah, I studied Latin too in that prestigious highschool of mine I tested into). Facts seem to have a liberal bias innit? And yes, thanks for mentioning my alma mater for the 100th time. The same school a lot of people who run the world went to. But yeah maybe, just maybe, it wasn't as intellectually rigorous as whatever dumbfuck 10th tier school you managed to get into in PHC. Well, we clearly know that's a lie. And FYI, it gets to the point of stalkerish and envious(using it properly there as well) that 85% of your posts are about me and/or Harvard. But I'd be envious of me too. |
basilico:Fact Check In the interest of not arguing with known mentally deranged idiots, for anyone truly interested in the details of this allegation, this is a pretty good tweet thread: https://twitter.com/thomasafine/status/1682085249243844608 Trying to blackmail Zelensky into making allegations like this was part of the reason Trump got impeached the first time. Warning, this stuff is pretty much in the weeds. I'm a politics/law nerd, so I find it interesting. |
feedthenation:This is propaganda. It was sourced and created by people affiliated with Giuliani and Trump so it can be used for propaganda purposes like it is now. This was the point of the "whistleblowers". To get documents that Congress otherwise wouldn't be able to obtain out in the open. It's a very clever scheme. Giuliani generates a fake source who gives an interview to the FBI. The FBI now has on record a "source" who said something. And Republicans can then subpoena the FBI or "get" a whistleblower to reveal these confidential docs, private citizen (Hunter Biden) tax details, grand jury info or unverified allegations that they wouldn't normally have access to without a lengthy process. And they can now say, look we have an FBI source who said "____". The avg. American will know no better. And because Grassley did it in Congress he has absolute immunity. Republicans are good at weaponizing government for these purposes. I give them credit for this. Here is a tweet from Lev Parnas, who was helping Giuliani with this stuff. And these allegations came about during Bill Barr's tenure (no fan of Biden). He did nothing with them.
