Earning a first class in Radiography is not easy in most university in the Southeast! University of Nigeria and University of Calabar are the pioneer schools for radiography education in Nigeria and have not produced First class graduates since inception. I hope UNN follows, now that the jinx has been broken in Calabar. Congratulations Ms!!!!

Emekamex: It seems the FG are desperate to privatize everything including hospitals. This move will surely open way for private owned hospitals. The downside is that we lose experienced doctors and price of health fees will definitely increase.

This is a welcomed development.. Where is Dr. Phantom, you were running your mouth some weeks ago, come and talk now na. phucado: Hello. How are you guys. Please if someone wan book apply for interview immediately after signing of signature for block account opening, e possible? If yes, what are the documents required? For account opening, do we need any documents?.

From experience, you book an appointment for interview/visa application with a confirmation of lodgement into the blocked account. The embassy may decide to accept your request for bookings on same day if only your resumption date is close.. So you have to write them and get further clarifications on this issue. For account opening, you need the following forms,
1. 2 filled application forms for a blocked account
2. international passport and 2 copies of the data page
3. admission letter of the German university and 2 copies thereof

phantomm: brother take it easy.I am sorry if you feel insulted. i only tried to make you understand you can't report radiographs or CTS when your training didn't teach you epidemiology and pathophysiology of diseases.its not just to know patterns.anyone can know patterns. but because of my training as a doctor I not only know those patterns,I can explain to you WHY those patterns are there and can also QUESTION THE ABSENCE of particular patterns I expect in certain disease processes.so you can see I armed to the teeth with information that already puts me at an advantage and makes me the GO TO GUY in the field. sorry once again if you felt insulted.wasn't intended.

Uncle odi: Dr. Okechukwu Erondu is well known to me. Hour had a lot of Doctors on his Pay book but u forgot a part of the story. It was his desire to be an MBBS doctor but due to his inability to Pass the Oct 1995 2nd MBBS exam, he was withdrawn from medical school. So I wonder who dumped who.

SMH!! So this is the kind of deceit you people are fed with? As at this time you quoted he was working towards his M.Sc in Medical Imaging at the University of Nigeria.

phantomm: please stop luring shamelessly here. doctors send patients to erondu because he gives them a cut per patient they send. say the truth. it is unethical to split fees in medicine and those doctors are committing crimes BUT as per expertise, image diagnostics is zero. in UPTH, before you are treated, you must repeat the radio. investigations in the radiology dept of Upth. they don't accept results from outside. what knowledge do degree holders in radiography have about diagnoses?? don't make me laugh.they are bound to make wrong diagnoses once in a while.no one is infallible.but to say they send to image diagnostics because of wrong diagnoses us a bare faced lie. people are becoming aware that image is not a doctor and thank god professionalism is coming into play. in the last couple of years proper diagnostic centers are opening up.trans view, union, precision, George's e.t.c.

I don´t have the time to explain these things to you, but from an insiders perspective, i know the truth. Thats all

phantomm: you can see you really don't know what's going on. the radiographer ONLY images the patient. by virtue of their training they CANT interprete results. any that does us committing an illegality. the lab scientist tests samples and concludes that he found A,B& C in a certain blood sample and that A is sensitive to nitrofurantoin,B is sensitive to ciprofloxacin and C is sensitive to nystatin. left to the lab guy he will give those drugs to cure the patient BUT the doctor by virtue of his training matches the lab result to the history he got from the patient and his examination of the patient. if the doctor feels the patient gas disease X and from what he learnt in school, disease X does not occur with A,B & C in blood, he will ask for a repeat lab test.the doctor is trained to tie up many things.

For your information, Interpretation of Radiographs, is not rocket science... Many radiography program have pattern recognition and image interpretation in their curriculum and most of the contents of the Residency program are treated in the B.Sc radiography programs. Radiologist in many countries are drifting towards interventional radiology, rather the radiologist in Nigeria have ndetermined to do the elementary aspect of radiology. It shows the rot in the system.

phantomm: okechukwu erondu is a very intelligent man and knows his bounds. correction: he didn't employ doctors BUT doctors consult for him. he doesn't dare report his CTS or MRIs. apart from his basic degree he just managed to do a 3 month course in ultrasound which is not enough for him to make diagnoses.he is a SONOGRAPHER. in a sane society erondu would not be allowed to open shop. he ran from kano and Lagos when the heat became unbearable. in Lagos all radiologists have their stamps.a doctor in Lagos cannot accept radiological reports without those stamps.the same thing will start in PH soon. quackery is everywhere. the paramedical are running things in town and killing people. later Nigerians will blame doctors. NMA is saying NO! but if Nigerians want corruption in health, they should prepare to face the consequences

Is the same doctor colleagues of yours in UPTH that still refer patients to him.. Have you asked yourself why? The doctors in UPTH keep complaining of the wrong diagnosis made by the resident doctors and even some consultants in the dept of Radiology( The issue is if consultants are always around there wont be problems but they leave these duties to the resident doctors who know nothing about diagnosis. Most of what they learn are things a degree holder in Radiography knows already.

If he is competent in his managerial and administrative capabilities, why not? The post of the CMD is purely administrative.. You don´t need to have an MBBS to manage an establishment.. I expect someone with an MBA, management related degree and good experience in the health field to do well in that capacity.

For opening d blocked account ensure you are at the German Consulate between am 8am and 11.30am mon-thurs. You don't need any. Appointment. The following documents are. Needed.
1. Two copies of the application form filled seperately online, you can make an extra unfilled copy in case an error. Is detected when you're inside the embassy already. You can gget d form by writing to db.student@db.com or u search for it on d website of deutsch bank yourself if you don't want delays. The form shld be signed in front of the embassy staff.

2. A ccopy of the 1st page of the applicatiion form.

3.International passport and 2copies of the data page.

4. Original admissionletter and 2 photocopies

Make all your copies and printing before coming cos its very expensive doing it at the embassy.

I. See, Energy systems needs that application but you could have written then before the decision was made about any closest GOETHE cert. That you have. My course nuclear applications expects the student to present the Cert. By the third semester. Anyhow, its well.

225*8090=1,820,250 excluding transfer charges so try n negotiate wif ur aboki and take d aboki to d bank make sure d bank has accepted the euro b4 u gv him ur naira cos d last fin we need is fake euro ...nigerians re known for so many fins.

Lang course :A1 tuition and exam 40K B1 abt 50K that is if ur course requires it...each stage is abt 3mths.

Application: Go thru daad.de/en to select course
Notarize documents...let's say u apply to schs outside Uni-assist (4 schs) using dhl (11K) u may spend abt 100K for sending application (this include transcript,to notarise document, letter from sch to show that ur studies are in english or so n miscellaneous. )

If u use Uni-assist u will be required to pay 65euro for d first sch and 15euros for the subsequent schools(bank transfer).

When u gain admission..U open the block account by downloading the form and submitting the necessary documents at the german consulate.

Then u transfer 8090euros (including 50euros. For charges) this is abt 1.8million naira...ve it in mind that the money is for ur upkeep and u can only withdraw 670euros per Mth for a yr. this exclude charges from ur local bank.

Then u book appointment and go for your visa interview.

When u re granted visa... u re expected to come wif 3 mths travel insurance 14K or 23K depending on d one u choose.

U buy ur ticket depending on airline from abt 600usd (emirates) to 1200usd Lufthansa.

Basic travelling allowance :700euros or so not compulsory (don't really know).

Na so I know reach baba.....most schs re tuition free u only pay semester fee (nt more than 300euros depending on the sch.

Bur in all u need to be informed.take d advice read thru the thread from page 1 and ask urself if this is wat u really wanna do.

My application to fh aachenn was decided like 2weeks before I got the admission letter. Exercise patience, you will get your letter soon but bear in mind that the letters are delivered in the order the applications came in. Goodluck the registration starts February 17 and ends March 14.

Thanks for the information..I am aware of the. Monthly expenses, but quite oblivious of the need to present 8000 euros again for residence permit renewal. If that is the case, would one be able to raise that via part time jobs( in my case, I will be studying in Aachen/Julich) or what other ways are available without having to call home?

Hello house, I need to be cleared on the exact amount that is deposited in the blocked account. The amount stated in one of the link relating to change of requirements posted here within d week is 7908 euros but someone that applied like 2yrs nnow said he deposited 8040 euros. For those that did recently, how much did you deposit? And do I need to book appointment to open d block account at the Embassy.
