Their corrupt deeds may not be of the same earth-shaking proportions as those of their leaders but they aren't innocuous. The average Nigerian is corrupt through and through. Acts of petty thievery hit closer to home than acts of executive brigandage committed in the far flung corridors of power. Little foxes spoil the vineyard. The petty trader around the corner riles the government day after day all the while making use of false bottomed measuring cups . Who is fooling who? A student accuses politicians of electoral malpractice, yet he doesn't bat an eyelid before indulging in examination malpractice. You really cannot give what you do not have. A flawed society will birth flawed leaders. It's only logical. What's the difference between a corrupt leader and a corrupt follower? I really do not see any difference because corruption is corruption, no two ways about it, the same way a lie is a lie, whether told for right reasons or not. Like someone said earlier, Nigerians deserve their leaders. Every time some one brings up the idea of a revolution, I simply chuckle to myself. Nigerians angle for change and any revolution would simple clear out the old and usher in a new breed of corrupt persons and we'd be back to square one in split seconds.
