RomanceRe: Is It Appropriate??? by Illuminatus(m): 4:43pm On Jul 22, 2014
How do you know people talk during sex? What is "appropriate" during sex? Does it matter if indeed some couples talk during sex?
RomanceRe: Thread For LIERS by Illuminatus(m): 4:39pm On Jul 22, 2014
Wow! And what I know? We need another thread: Thread for People Who Can't Write English. Made specifically for you and your like.

Boland: Do you believe in God?
That's inconsequential.

Boland: Homosexuality is not normal, it is an adaptation, not an inborn
trait.
No matter how many times you say it, it doesn't eventually become true. People don't choose to be straight, do they? What makes you think gay people do choose?

Boland: Good! All I know is that the fact that the UK approved of it doesn't make it right. #JustSaying.

Boland: Hey bro, if you must know, it concerns us... I will like to point out somethings here.... Laws and rules make Humans different from animals (that can do whatever they pleases), so if you think another person's welfare/existence/sexuality doesn't concern you, you must be kidding. In some ways other people's choices and actions affect us, even if not us it might affect our offsprings.. I think gays need counseling. With that maybe some might change.
Trust me, I know all about the role of Law in the society. Even, lawyers are conflicted about the role of law in private lives. It's known as the eternal war of Personal Liberty v Public Morality. Before 1967, the law had it that homosexual intercourse in The UK was a crime as was in Shaw v DPP. But after 1967, sex between consenting male adults wasn't a crime anymore. Moreover, one legal jurist once said, inter alia, if one refrains from hurting others, he is at liberty to act they way he sees fit concerning himself.

Boland: Lol.... I don't think satan created anyone ooo! Buh the devil must av really worked hard to make some peeps believe they are gay. I think it's just an abnormal state of mind.
So is being stupid, but I don't see people clamouring about that.

Pal, I don't know what century you are from, but most of Freud's theories, undoubtedly including the one you used, has been discredited.

Lordabas: I don't think it is any different from any other mental illness. Usually mental illness starts with a thought process that is messed up and then the more it's thought about the stronger it becomes a part of you. Just like eating disorders, they can be stopped if the person really wants to stop. Gays are mentally ill. It can be helped only if the sick person wants the help. huh
Wow! Homosexuality is a mental illness? *bewildered*
you do that professional psychologists, people who've spent years studying psychology and even more years practising, agree that homosexuality isn't an illness?
The argument that "because the origin of A isn't known, A should be discredited (or something) is a fallacy that holds no water.
RomanceRe: Are People Really Born Gay? by Illuminatus(m): 12:36pm On Jul 20, 2014
Boland: Okay then... If I'm to agree with you, why would someone choose to be gay? I don't believe gays are born either but I keep wondering why someone in his/her right mind would choose to be gay. I don't just get it.
Good question. But I can top that.:
Why would someone want to concern himself with another person's romantic and sexual attraction, especially when it doesn't concern them personally? Don't they have better things to worry about? And why can't they just accept that some things are just things? I don't get it! *smirk*
RomanceRe: Are People Really Born Gay? by Illuminatus(m): 12:32pm On Jul 20, 2014
Lordabas: No one is born gay. God does not create abominations. God creates in perfection. Homosexuality is a sexual PREFERENCE. Preference means that they prefer to have sex with members of the same sex, as opposed to members of the opposite sex. A preference is a choice. Plain and simple. They claim to be born that way because it frees them from having to take the responsibility for being what they are.
God doesn't create abominations, huh? What then happens to children born with birth defects? The co-joined twins? And don't tell me that it's exclusively the parent's fault.
I guess you are feeling so wise and superior sitting there and pointing fingers, huh? I have news for you. You are wrong.
RomanceRe: Are People Really Born Gay? by Illuminatus(m): 12:26pm On Jul 20, 2014
I don't know if I was born gay (although I feel I was) but I know I didn't consciously choose to be gay, either.
TV/MoviesRe: Which Of This Series Movies Can Be Rated The Funniest? by Illuminatus(m): 11:30am On Jul 20, 2014
From the list, I'm definitely going with Modern Family. But Desperate Housewives is also quite hilarious, though it isn't on the list.
Christianity EtcRe: Are Genotype Tests A Standard B4 Marriage In Christianity? by Illuminatus(m): 11:22am On Jul 20, 2014
Yes. Most churches insist on the tests. They recognise that Sickle Cell Anemia is a serious illness and it causes a rift in the family. A family in a church I attend has two boys suffering from the illness and it is really disturbing.
Anyway, I think churches insist on these tests to help the couple make an informed decision. If after the testing, the couple insist they want to marry, the church (at least, the one I attend) doesn't say no. They still wed the couple...

LiteratureRe: Ebooks, Do Nigerians Really Buy Them ? by Illuminatus(m): 11:07am On Jul 20, 2014
moneyallowed: Nigerians are really into ebooks now, due in no small way to the rise of smartphones. Majority of them are free though, i'm estimating only 1 in 10 ebooks are paid for. qe only buy when there's no other alternative, at least I do grin
Exactly.
LiteratureRe: What Are You Reading Right Now And What Page Are You? by Illuminatus(m): 11:06am On Jul 20, 2014
adexsimply: Not confusing in that sense, I just want to know the order in which the books follow.
That would be The Heroes of Olympus with some new characters... Percy and Anna still feature, but they aren't the only protagonists this time.

adexsimply: Do we have a fan of Rick Riordan here? Having read his Percy Jackson series, I'm about to proceed with the rest but they're a bit confusing
*Raises Arms* I'm a Rick Riordan fan. I didn't read the Percy Jackson series, but I've read everything else - the four books on The Heroes of Olympus and the three on Kane Chronicles. I didn't find any of them confusing, rather entertaining. Which part did find confusing?
