Kingdante:And you need a brain transplant. I don't understand you people. That another man touched his penis does not make him gay. That you refuse to let another guy touch your penis does not make you straight, either. You people should get off this your high tower, abeg. |
Sparkle22:I wonder how often you were wanking for it to affect your life so negatively. I am however pleased that you are happy with the change you have made. But what do you mean by this constant repetition of 'normal'. Normal for you, or the average for all humans. Normal is overrated. Do you. Sure, you might experience some improvement in focus and attention span. That wouldn't necessarily translate into a better IQ unless you invest more them on your brain. Try to not abuse drugs. Really. It is not a good idea. And try to find a more healthy habit to replace wanking with. You will need to occupy yourself from time to time to prevent falling prey to old habits. |
The poem has an interesting idea. The execution is okay. However, the third stanza is too off and illogical. Keep writing, keep thinking. Improve. You already have the flair. |
It would be better to visit a qualified medical practitioner. Using over the counter medication for cases like this may be dangerous and counter productive. If however you are however strapped of cash, visit a pharmacy (they will probably charge less in the short run). |
SIRcumalot:Can you send the Obioma book to my mail? I’m not sure you still have it so I’m going to PM you. I’ve read Speak No Evil. Months ago. Not a bad read. |
SIRcumalot:I’ve not heard of the Orchestra of Minorities before. Who’s the author? I’m looking for interesting LGBT themed or Mystery/Suspense books |
Boxer007: Boxer007: Boxer007:You’re a pot trouble, amigo. Lol. Have you gone the date? Give us update! |
The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri, I think she’s a better short story writer. Meh. PS: The site I used to get books from is misbehaving. Any suggestion on where to get good books? Preferably ePub, but I can always convert myself. Thank you. |
SIRcumalot:The first part. The time line, the fact that The Singer is referred to as a popular reggae artiste and the Concert led me to conclude on the identity of the Singer. |
Tipsbydelight:Yes, I do write for blogs. |
Osila2:You can only get these things if the company can afford it and is willing to give them to you. The company can only afford it if your investor keeps his end of the bargain. Are you seeing my point? From what you told me, you can only get what the two of you agreed to and not what you think you are entitled to. The complicated nature of this issue is why I’ve suggested that you seek legal advice so that you don’t err in such a manner that can not be corrected easily. Alternatively, you can try alternate dispute resolution methods. |
Seek Legal guidance. I cannot stress this enough. What you should do would depend on whether the agreement you had with this person was in writing or merely oral and how far you are willing to go to make sure that this business is actualized. If the agreement isn’t in writing, your options becomes more limited. If they are in writing, you can then proceed to sue him (this would be very important for the steps you would take afterward) for breach of contract and try to get him to either perform or pay damages. Alternatively, you can dissolve the company already formed and create another one that would be solely owned and controlled by you. Then you will start the hard work of sourcing for funds for execution. This situation is particularly messy and I deeply sympathize with you which is why I’ve hazarded a summary of the legal options available to you. Good luck. |
A Brief History of Seven Killings by Marlon James. I usually struggle with historical fiction, and this one isn’t any different. However, it’s somewhat easier to read than Lincoln in the Bardo. I’m still like 5% in which isn’t a good thing at alll considering that the book has 1355 pages (on my phone) but I’m optimistic. I think I might take a break off fiction works after this book, I’m not sure yet. Depends on my schedule next year. |
The fact that you are addressing women, as if their ultimate objective is and should be marriage renders your post almost moot. It’s 2018. Marriage should be equally important to both sexes. |
To make a second class upper, he would have to maintain a CGPA of at least 4.5 per session till he graduates. To make a first class, he would need to push that envelope to 4.7 CGPA per session till he graduates. I think the only way for this to work is if he’s a goal oriented smart worker and the university isn’t stingy with grades. All the same, warm regards and best of luck! |
Just before people will start coming here to bash all gay people, a quick reminder that cheating is cheating and the gender of the cheating parties does not matter. Secondly, if you know that you wouldn’t be this outraged if this was another story of a man cheating on his wife, carry your L and be going. Double standards doesn’t look good on anyone anymore. Thirdly, you may not be quick to agree with me, but stories like this wouldn’t be so rampant if the society was less antagonistic against homosexuality. |
jesusjnr:News flash: That someone is a reknowned scientist doesn’t mean that everything he says should be believed. If you tried reading my comment, you would see how I differentiate between the opinions of scientists that are verifiable and thus, of universal validity and the opinions of scientists that are just that - opinions. That Newton was a spectacular scientist doesn’t mean that we should believe what he says about the future or death or religion IF IT IS NOT VERIFIABLE. Such opinions are worth as much as that of the average Joe. If Newton said that there was a Flying Spaghetti Monster would you believe him without evidence? Abeg, carry your rationalization to one side. Scientists can be wrong. Charles Darwin, the celebrated father of The Theory of Evolution was wrong about some aspects of his discovery and postulations. Sigmund Frued, the father of psychoanalysis said a lot of things that are now considered horseshit as it pertains to psychology. We don’t blindly follow the postulations of scientists. That is the difference between theism and science. |
Learnstuffs:We are called Homo salients not heterosexuals. Our culture used to kill twins and bury rich people with their poor slaves. And the fool the ancestors gave birth to seems to think that culture is set in stone, that humans are meant for culture? |
Ordinarily, I would walk past but I recognize that some impressionable fellow may stumble upon this thread and use it to justify some advanced sort of cognitive dissonance I would like to point out that: 1. Newton lived in a very peculiar time when the overall accepted knowledge was that God controls everything and man was at the center of the universe. It was fashionable to be religious and even when some scientific advancement wasn’t the result of a scientist cloaked in a monk’s robe, the church’s validation or denouncement spelt the fate of every scientist. 2. The statements you reported above are unverifiable, well, aren’t as verifiable as the Law of Gravity and the Law of Relativity. 3. The underlying rationale for that argument has been tested again and again and it has failed again whilst the law of gravity has stood the rest of time. 4. Religion remains a social construct, incapable of being universally true hence, the fact that one scientist ascribed to it whilst secretly nurturing doubts isn’t a fair point. |
SIRcumalot:What’s this book like? It’s been on my to read list for a year now and I keep pushing it down. |
introvertme:Ah! Ah!! Spin off? How? The stories don’t have anything in common... |
Hey, It’s nice to see that you’re looking for budding writers to offer a platform and some sort of employment. However, if you’re serious, you should give more information about what you plan and the prospects. Tell us if you plan to publish the works on a website and which website that is. Give us an estimate of what you are willing to pay and at what rate. This limited information you’ve provided is rather sketchy. |

One of those times that people (insert Muslims) can’t hold themselves from using the West as an example - even though they call the West infidels almost every other day. Lol. |
Empiree:He should google the school he wants and learn what they need. The decision of which school should depend on cost, locale and school’s reputation. Most definitely, he’ll need to write the IELTS exam, obtain reference letters and even tests for things like TB. The order for these items will depend on the country and school. Again, he needs to do big time research or seek the counsel of a travel agent. |
Kaycee7:Nah! We still have our hands full with Ramin Djawadi. |
calliope:Hear! Hear!! I read the book for the first time like eight months ago, I’ve read it twice again since then. The book contains insights that I think everyone of us knows on some basic level but have been trained to overlook. This book will be a hard pill for most Nigerians to swallow sha, what with our genetic need to not mind our business. Lol. |
I just finished Sefi Atta’s A Bit of Difference. Phew. It’s a nice book, a relatable story. She writes good literary fiction. However, I was curious as to why she became so popular...until I figured out her relationship with another famous Nigerian. Anyway, back to the book, I found it hard getting into the book in the beginning. It was a little tedious and the chapters are so long - comparably. Lolz. However, when I started reading the second chapter, I have already settled in nicely with the story and the characters so for some reason I wouldn’t be quick to admit, I had begun to anticipate what would happen next. The ending isn’t perfect but good. The author wrapped up the story well enough, and left enough open to interpretation for us to be engaged. I also didn’t have so much problems with the author getting a tad preachy with the whole homegoing bit, meh! Lolz. Again, I don’t know what I’m reading next. I’ll likely pick it at random. Maybe it’s time I go back to nonfiction? |
