So Nigerians watch OITNB? You guys don't think its too gay? Lol. |
I don't know for certain but I'd say it would take like four hours tops to travel from Anambra to Benin (depending on the parts in the states sha o). You should meention if you're driving or taking a bus. Buses would take about one and half hour more... |
You can be a parent...or you can be an annoying parent. If you have done the best you can as a parent, you neednt worry yourself to death with stuff like this. How much are you going to control? Its better you teach your kids why they should or shouldn't do stuff instead of telling them what to (not) do. Do it so much and you become terrifying/annoying/unapproachable. And that's when you've lost your kid. |
He really deserves this honor. He's one of the most futuristic and smart lecturers I've met. More power to him! PS: This picture doesn't do him justice at all! |
Nmeri17:What are it? Hehehe |
Can't wait to see what ingenuity Onitsha people will cook up for this place. Some people must have already started selling in front of the mall. |
So, I've stumbled and stayed with fantasy and science fiction for a while. I just finished Ted Dekker's Blink of an Eye and started Black. I've changed my mind about Dekker who I disliked after reading Hacker! Lol. After this I'm going to try and read Giovani's Room. I've read so much about it and I can't take that anymore, I've got to read it myself! |
Reading Legion by Brandon Sanderson. Before this, I read The Emperor's Soul which introduced me to this awesome author. Wow! |
Now reading The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson. Hopefully, it'll be much better than the last thriller I read; NYPD Red by James Patterson. Before that, I read Night Music by JoJo Moyes which isn't Me Before You. Before that, I read Marrow by Tarryn Fisher. I've been busy. Lol. |
SirChotas:Can you please send it to me? I haven't got it yet, biko. |
Go to a hospital and meet a qualified doctor. |
No. Not good. Mob justice is wrong. They should have taken him to the police for proper prosecution. In the course of 'punishing' the man, they too have committee a crime. |
Miss! Miss!! Miss!!! |
MizCharm:lol. Very funny! |
You didn't even put up your location. Lol. You're obviously just joking. Anyway, sorry you didn't get what you sought for... |
femcos:Yup. I'm waiting for your response too. The same thing happened to me and I didn't get the promised bonus. Pretty bogus... |
I don't know how long she courted this guy before they got married but I don't think they communicate well. If they did, she should have understood that he's running a program, the kinda program he's running and what that really means. She's already made the journey so I'd advise her to stay and work on her marriage. This is the early period of what could be a lifetime and it's this time that you build the foundation of the relationship. It isn't advisiable to give that up for anything. So, I say moving back to Nigeria isn't a good idea. However, I'm concerned that she's the one fending for herself. That says a lot of her husband if he really let her come over and then leave their upkeep to her. How can he not give her money for food? Doesn't he pay the bills? If really doesn't do those things, there's a problem and it needs to be addressed immediately. But if he does and this lady is just concerned about pocket money, then it's a better scenario and my advise above will stand while also encouraging her to cut spending and work toward getting her papers faster. Good luck. |
What's with all this drama? This is giving you sleepless night? If she really liked and wants you, she wouldn't even be suggesting seeing these guys, and thinking of marrying someone except you. It's sad that you've played this game for too long. People change, I think she did during her IT when things evidently changed. Just talk to her and tell her how you feel. How you really feel. Hear what she has to say. If what she says makes remote sense, ie, that she'll cease seeing this other people and that the two of you will now start building a monogamous relationship to the exclusion of other guys and her parents, then, by all means give her another chance. However, if she doesn't say anything like this, just part ways now before things get nasty. |
Sigh. They were born nine minutes apart. Shouldn't be a big deal. They should both take up January 1st for convenience. Shrug. |
In the Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. I don't know what to make of it yet. Page 54. |
Yonce:he might not have been responsible for making Jamal gay and Andre bipolar, but he's responsible for how they feel about those things. He made Jamal uncomfortable because of his sexuality. The way he keeps treating Andre is not beneficial to his getting better at all. The unhealthy competition he's instigating amongst them is...unhealthy. The way he keeps pressuring them. It's part of what shaped them into the adults they've become. Their mother was away to save his black ass. |
The photograph and director must have seen an eyefull... |
Yonce:and what about the role he played in making his kids this way? The way he reacted to them went a long way in making those guys what they became. Remember Jamal's Good Enough and Keep Your Money? The way he kept pressurizing Hakeem to work harder and then Andre...hmmmm. That's a different ball game. Whatever his demons are, he should have handled them and not let them haunt his kids too. This just keeps the vicious cycle running. |
francoray:please, why is it not wrong? Reasons is important. |
mojeed4:you nko? |
Thanks, Dave. What I don't get is why nothing is being done yet? When we get a repeat of ALUU4? I guess it's too much to expect that undergraduates to understand the graveness of jungle justice. Sigh. Moreover, what's this SMS? Sounds like Trial by Ordeal... |
I was wondering if I could get The Fishermen by Chigozie Obioma or any other book that made the Man Booker Shortlist...? |
Just finished the Final Detail by Harlan Coben and The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. The former is a serious mystery thriller and the later is a comedy about a...well, you already know. Lol. I'm currently reading Anything Could Happen by Will Walton. Something for the YA reading group. It isn't spectacular, but it's not a total waste either. |
