It is something that is personal and individualistic. Different strokes for different folks. |
Please! I don't want to hear anything about them getting millions and houses. They should be paid what the contract says and then they should start preparing for the next phase of their life. It's only in Nigeria that sportmanship like this is rewarded with money. Pretty petty. |
Majority of their money comes from the shows, tours and endorsement deals. They still make some money from selling albums. And they get paid something when channels like Channel O plays their music. |
I still don't agree with the rule that women shouldn't wear earrings, necklaces or bracelets. The church I'm currently attending says women shouldn't wear these things, but still, majority of the women still wear it to church, and almost all of them wear it outside the church. I'd like to hear argument for this rule though. |
Someone might end up in the emergency room of a hospital... |

robian1: you speaking from experienceLol. *knowing smile* |
If you're this shy, then your (first) sex should be with someone who likes you, adores you and respects you. Put simply, someone you're dating or have a stable relationship with. Trust me, if you're with someone you like/love, getting naked with them won't be a problem. |
Okay, for starters, there's a difference between being privileged and being rich . Secondly, I know lots of Nigerians who aren't rich (or privileged as you put it) that aren't hostile. I think people become hostile when they become depressed. Now, people get depressed from a lot of things but in Nigeria, most people become depressed because the economy isn't good to them. Some people feed on less than 150 naira, have two meals that aren't square by day, can hardly afford to pay their kids tutition and owing rent. They constantly worry about today, are apprehensive about tomorrow and torture themselves with the past. It is only logical that these people are volatile and will /spark/ at any provocation. Don't blame them. |
robian1: yes I'm seeing it!!!!! lol this made smile then laugh!!!Hehehe. You laughing at me? I'll deal with you later . Don't derail the topic. Share your story. |
I'm dating the person I wanted to date in a long time. When I was fifteen, I used to want to date someone that looked like Ding Dong Dantes or a younger David Beckham and even Prince Harry (you can laugh at this one), but I guess you know how that turned out. Anyway, I grew up and realized that there's a difference between what we want and what we can have . So, I adjusted my dreams and now I'm dating someone I have been wooing for two years (hope he doesn't see this ), and he's everything I need now. He makes me happy. |
2sa2: so u are also a gay, no wonder your comments on a post by "sanity". But there u gave the impression that you are just a supporter. Are u ashamed of what u are? Smelly a s s f a g. Don't change your ways u hear? Imprisonment awaits you, that's if you are lucky. You have no idea who or what I am. And probably never will. |

I don't know who you are, but Happy Birthday all the same . Hope you have a splendid, memorable celebration. |
fowowe411: Seconded.though I didn't read all what you typed up there but I think I get your point. The fact that majority of nigerians don't know is that religion as done more harm than good in nigeria polity.you should imagine how much the government(state$fed)spends on pilgrimage of both islamic and christian faithfuls.Exactly. There was this recent rumor of how the President was taking a host of comrades to Isreal. Of course, the President denied that that was the case... |
Before I begin, I'd like to state that I am not against Christianity or Islam (or the people who practise them for that matter). I know some people will find this short article appauling but I won't apologise for that. I only implore that you read this article with an open mind, free of bias and using simple common sense. Like I've stated in the above paragraph, I don't have any problem wig religion in itself or of itself, what I'm opposed to is the idea of using religion as the impetus for policy making and legislation in the nation, especially on the federal level. Seeing as Nigeria is a country where most people - including politicians and government executives have some sort of religion that guides their decision, it is impossible to have a true separation of religion from the state. That's okay. I don't think we need to elect only atheists into government. But in a country as populated as ours, with quite a many ethnic group and more than a few religion and denominations (which I haven't decided whether it's a good thing or not), I am suggesting that we create and support a system where political decisions are made based on arguments that stand on their own merits without a religious crutch. To put simply, the argument: "The Bible (or Koran) told me so" is off limits. People need to use objective, measurable evidence to defend their arguments, instead of just referring to their faith and leaving it at that. It is important to remember that not everybody shares your faith and arguments based on a particular religion doesn't mean much to people who don't share that faith. These arguments just serve as a great catalyst to polarize arguments and creat opposing groups that are unable to actually discuss a problem and hate each other. As an example is an commonly argued, religiously planted issue: Human rights as pertaining to LGBT (gay) people. Right now, the most popular argument against it is "marriage (sex) was meant be between a man and a woman, because the Bible says so." Not okay. You can be opposed to homosexuality, but under the political system I'm suggesting, politicians (and ordinary people) would have to debate it with secular reasoning that can appeal to people of all belief. I could be an atheist and as such, not agree with another that homosexuality is (religiously) wrong. Much like Islam doesn't agree with Christianity that polygamy is wrong. I'd like to state that removing religion from politics won't creat an immoral, dystopic society. If anything, it will enhance unity between Nigerians and decrease religious/ethnic violence. So that's it. Null over this. And then, if you have something to say (reasonable, please?) say it. |
