44 mins of play  - yak has touch ball 5 times -
i tot i was the only one counting.

WHY MUST AMODU CONTINUE TO PLAY THIS LAZY & OVERWEIGHT WRESTLER ??  undecided undecided

nsofor, martins or Uche would have pumped in 2 goals by now. he can't carry himself. . . . did you see how he left that rebound from Mikel's shot?

Yak & Etuhu have no place in this team, the earlier we realise this the better. change those 2 & you have a game on your hands. . . . .

Katsumoto:
That was true but Yekini was like wine; he got better with age. He was very tall, gangling and awkward in his youth but he put on more weight later on and was solid.

Do you remember his first goal against Zaire in the quarter finals of Tunisia 94. Oliseh dispossessed an opponent in the centre circle and lobbed the ball to Yekini; Yekini collected the ball, flicking it with his ankle (1st touch) before dispatching the ball into the top corner of the net with his second touch. Pure ecstasy
I remember that game very well. . . his second goal was a penalty. . . he hit it straight & hard to the top corner. . . that guy was just too good on his day !

real4life:
That is where you get it wrong, there is nothing that stops Religion and Education going hand in hand. That is the perfect scenarioThat is the whole essence of this post but surely you are too blinded by your convictions to see that
Blinded ?? Not in the least my friend. Im all for incorporating religious instruction into school work,I remember back in the days (secondary school) we had CRK & IRK (Christian religious knowledge & Islamic religious knowledge) up to GCE level,I dnt know what is the case now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that,& I strongly believe its important.

But when you talk about 'Madrassas' ,you obviously do not know what its about ,these is where religious fundamenatlism is taught. All the terrorists blowing up themslves, where do you think they were radicalised??

That is the easiest place, especially with Saudi backed funding of wahabbi Islam, you are taught you are here to fight for your God,its right to kill others etc. Loading young children with such hate is WRONG !!!

But if it is incorporated into regular school curriculum, that is better. Or better still, parents should take time to teach their children. . . . not some radical imam from pakistan telling you America is working for the devil etc
PoliticsRe: Political Heavyweights In Lagos Grace Launch Of Book On Islamic Schools by illusion2: 6:58am On Jan 22, 2010
Until people begin to tell their followers the truth,we can't move forward.

How many of the 'political heavyweights' sent their children to 'madrassas' & islamic schools ?

How many do not have children studying/living in USA,Europe??

This guys are pure deceivers.

Their poor ,wretched followers seem to think these people take their religion to heart grin grin grin

When I hear things like 'islam is the fastest growing religion in North America',what does that mean?? Are we taking into coignisance the prison inmates who have nothing to hold on to ,but the 'new non-white,liberating' religion or the thousands of immigrants from the muslim world??

Even if this isn't the case, does Islam's rate of growth, somewhat stop the ever growing fanaticism & terrorism? huh

These are questions these 'scholars' should tackle rather than blaming others for all their problems.

There are no madrassas in the ME,they are all embracing western education to improve their lives ,but the poor countries continue to go back in time. . .
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Zambia: Super Eagles Win On Penalties (Nations Cup) by illusion2: 6:15am On Jan 22, 2010
Im pleasantly surprised to learn we'e meeting Zambia next. I agree we need to beat all the team to win the cup,but we don't have a strong team yet & the Zambia game should allow us fine tune our play (not that the Zambians are push overs in anyway tho'). . . , . . ,

I just feel better with Zambia -Nig at this stage. Tho' Amodu & the boys MUST NOT UNDERRATE THEM !!!

Thanks for the update guys !!!

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by illusion2: 4:09pm On Jan 21, 2010
When I wrote that Etuhu is playing like he lacks confidence ,I meant exactly that.
I was one of those touting for him,but he's not making his presence felt. he's playing like some U-17 kid ,been given a chance. We have 3 defensive midfielder,at least one should have the balls to hold on to the ball.

I don't think we can compare Ayila to anyone of them ,on his day ,he's by far our best midfield player. IMO he was our best player in 2006 ACN.

He knows when to go forward to support a corner kick & when to hold back, when to put in a tackle & he holds on to the ball very well, with relatively high ball control. . . . . , which are hallmarks of good defensive midfielder, not gaining possesion & losing it immediately, thereby putting ur teammates under pressure (think Makalele,Oliseh & mikel for all his failings, holds on to the ball very well).

Its a confidence thingy with Etuhu,I think, . .

SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Mozambique African Nations Cup 3-0 by illusion2: 9:09am On Jan 21, 2010
Yusuf has been playing very well, with few mistakes & he's on of the few players putting in everything .

Below par players so far -
Taiwo(no sense of direction, lacks pace & doesn't work with other defenders)

Etuhu(midfielder but can't hold on to the ball, can't mark properly. .  .certainly not Super Eagles material, unfortunately I was one of those touting for him)

Nwaneri(out of his league,I prefer him at right back,he exudes passion sha,but at this level its more than zeal !)

Yakubu(lazy, missed clear sitters, with his frame can't hold on to the ball &

Mikel (very little forward movement for all his skill & Chelsea hype !)
