Just look to the North of South Africa and look how the once prosperous Rhodesia, the breadbasket of Africa, is now starving and completely coming apart as a gangland and rotten dictatorship grown from nepotism/despotism. South Africa is a facade, its gonna collapse, because no matter how much money we throw at this raqcial divide mess, and no matter how hard the media tries to paint a pretty picture of balckness, the black run government is heading for a cliff and determined to drive everyone off the cliff like lemmings, I think we should go back to the way things were 50 years ago, and throw Mandela and his criminal wife back in jail and this time throw away the key for good. No more aid. Survival of the fittest, like Nigeria and Liberia, and every single country in sub sahara Africa, a rotten mess that was once kept civilized by colonialism. Lets go back to that, it worked and worked well.

To the muslims trying to somehow link modern christianity with violence extremism- I think you are being disingenuous.

Like all religions Islam should have passed through its own dark ages, but its quite a shock to most people that in 2010,the extremist medievial ideas still permeate modern society. undecided

The blame isn't far-fetched its all due to the wahabbi madrasas(koranic schools) sponsored by Saudi Arabia. They never knew it would back fire spectacularly on them like this, but there you go. grin

The solution will not be simple, because the average terrorist really believes he has a reward in the after life from killing people & its difficult to change this mind-set. sad

Salaams to all my folks and Jazakumullah khairan for the award.

I feel extremley humbled especially when i know it is only couple of threads i contribute to. I do appreciate the recognition and i pray to Allah to shower his blessings on us all. Without you all this section would be dead and I want us to contribute more this comming year inshallah. Enlightenment should be our focus and I suggest we focus less on bickerings and non beneficial debates.

Alihamdulilah, this year there was a sharp reduction in the activities of the trols in the section and I pray 2011 would witness a tremendous increase in knowledge and our understanding of the faith.

I must commend Bro Chakula who IMO deserves the award as he many times single handedly kept many threads alive when some of us were in and out of NL for various reasons. I cannot finish this piece without congratulating our new muslimah IFYALWAYS on her rebirth and submission to her Lords call. Lets us all keep her and her husband in our prayers for more blessings on them. I sincerely dedicate this award to IFYALWAYS

I also use this opportunity to call Hymen (lets hope she reads this) to have a re think and dance to the beat of the call of her Lord. She has been active on this section and has been a good contributor IMO to this section, she was one of the active players this year on the section. I pray for guidance for her and her wish her the best of blessings.

To all, from bro Azharudeen who is from a completely different race (indian) but united with us in Tawheed, i acknowledge the valuable contributuions of Muhsin, Sweetnecta, Sisters Zayhal, dominique, xoxo g, alimat, isale gan , aunty Fayzik. Nopqueter, Lagosshia, fizzy, Zubeyr, I, Babs and how can i forget my buddie Abuzola. To our non muslim compatriots like Ilussion Illusion2, Jarzinho we look foward to a wonderful year ahead insha Allah. To the man who makes the section tick behind the screen Jarus and the one and only Super mod MUKINA2 thanks for all the good work.

To all that i forgot to mention their names please forgive me for the oversight, I wish and pray for abundant blessings to you all.

Congrats bro. I expect you to deliver either Muki or uplawal to my harem in 2011 insha Allah. wink

You deserve it. If all muslims were like you (and all christians were like me ) we would have a much better world. Keep it up !

I didn't call Jesus ,Son of God- The Koran did.

Its not easy to change our lifelong assumptions, but do read .

All the verses about Jesus denying he was the Son God came much later courtesy of corruption of the Holy Koran by Umar Ibn Kattab & Abu Bakr.

About the hair thing, how do we know our friends/spouse are sincere? When they sacrifice something they love and listen to us (like missing their favorate tv show to hang out with us etc, ). This is the political side of Islam which I completely disagree with. angry

I understand passions being inflamed ,when anyone tries to denigrate what we hold dear & that is perfectly understandable, however we should never mix the law of the land with religious, personal sentiments. sad

If indeed Allah has a special place in his heart/heaven for the Holy Prophet (pbuh),then surely this woman will suffer some devastating mishap for daring to insult the prophet. angry

We cannot be dangling the hang man's noose over everyone that offends our sensibilities. shocked

It is widely known that the easiest way to start a riot in Kano is to claim someone has insulted the prophet or burnt the Koran. This Stone Age + barbaric mentality needs to stop.

Having said that ,if there is irrefutable proof that she has broken the law then she must face the music, however I pray she's granted clemency & the law is ultimately removed from the statutes.

A Victim of Saudi Arabia's Irreligious Police
Why You Should Know About Ali Sibat
By RANNIE AMIRI

At the time of this writing, Ali Hussain Sibat is still alive.

It is unknown for how long he will be however, for he is set to be executed in Saudi Arabia at any moment for the undefined crime of practicing “sorcery” and “witchcraft.”

As Robert Fisk aptly penned, “Some stories from the Middle East make you want to weep. But this one is truly heart-breaking.”

The details of his case are rather simple: Ali Sibat (alternative spelling, Sbatt) is a poor, Lebanese Shia Muslim truck driver who went to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in May 2008 to perform the minor pilgrimage, or umra. While in Medina, the Saudi Religious Police or mutawa’een, broke into his hotel room and arrested him for practicing “sorcery” (how they managed to track him down is beyond me). It seems Mr. Sibat once worked for a Lebanese satellite television station where he gave counsel and encouragement to troubled callers by “predicting” good things would happen to them.

After spending a year-and-half in jail, he was sentenced to death in a secret trial on Nov. 9. Yes, a Lebanese citizen, who once gave callers advice on a Lebanese television station in Lebanon, was given a death sentence while visiting Saudi Arabia. As Fisk again writes, “the story is almost too awful to relate because it should be untrue.”

His execution is set for today, December 10.

The fact he is a Shia Muslim certainly does not help his case in a country that is intolerant of them. The family wisely decided to call upon Lebanon’s Sunni leadership, including Prime Minister Saad Hariri – who holds Saudi citizenship – and the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Qabalan (who said Sibat committed no crime) to intervene.

Mr. Sibat, of course, was likely tortured during his long imprisonment. No lawyers were present during his sentencing, and in a country with no written penal code, his arbitrary arrest, incarceration and trial were dependent solely on the whims of the Religious Police and the presiding judge.

Amnesty International has urged Saudi King Abdullah to overturn the sentence and unconditionally release Sibat and another man (name unknown) convicted on similar charges.

Now that he is officially prime minister, Saad Hariri should spare not effort to secure the release of a fellow citizen set to be beheaded in Saudi Arabia.

God be with you Ali Hussain Sibat.

You must open you mind my dear.

It is this same lack of search for knowledge which many people erroneously associate with being 'faithful to Allah' that makes someone kill innocent people believing he's a martyr, despite all available facts to the contrary.

Like I said,if you are ready to open you mind we can exchange ideas sincerely.

But its important you follow the dictates of the Holy prophet - Iqra !

I'm also advising you to have a re-think. The Bible says 'by their fruits you shall know them'.

If the fruits of 'salvation' is all about death & destruction . . . then I'm not interested in that kind of salvation.  angry

Many christian families are mourning today in Jos because of this unique type of 'salvation'.

I perceive you have a sincere and genuine desire to serve God,please do have careful rethink. If your main concern about christianity is the Trinity, please read up on Unitarian Christainity.

You chose a quote from a pope in the 14th century, what do u expect
Like most religious people ,you will not take time to read any view you will likely not agree with- I was talking about the current Pope not a 14th century Pope. his comments raised a lot of dust within the Muslim world recently.

tbaba1234:

We muslims believe in fighting for the oppressed no matter where they are,  whether in Nigeria or palestine,  where ever people are oppressed we are enjoined to stand for the truth because " persecution is worse than death",  A muslim is the brother of every other muslim,  If you see your brother being persecuted, it is your duty to stand up even if it gets you killed. The religious composition of the palestinians is less important, ,  It doesn't matter the composition. The prophet (SAW) was reported to have said: Wherever you find injustice, change it with your hands, but if you can't, speak against it, If you can't do that, then at least hate it in your heart.

There are numerous pro-palestianian groups who have chosen to fight peacefully, many are not even muslims,
Even when we fight physically, every thing should be done within boundaries,  There are limits set in islam. People unfortunately transgress the boundaries set by God.
Peace
Stand or fight for the truth ? If its just to stand for the truth ,that is fairly universal. Fighting for the Islamic caliphate is what we are talking about here.

I agree, but but as they say charity begins at home. Why don't you fight for the oppressed cousins in your village? Like the Bible says remove the log from your eyes before trying to remove the spec from another's eyes.

Fight for what is right ,but put your house in order first. Ile lati'n ke ko rode (Education begins at home).

The holy prophet Mohammed (pbuh) started by sorting his tribe out first before conquering large swaths of territory for Allah  across Africa and Asia.  smiley
