The use of that word "fluke" was deliberate. The threat and odds against Obama's presidency coming from the white folks who are predominantly Republicans are far greater than November 2008 when he was elected and are becoming more daunting. A "third" party - the so-called Tea party have since emerged and the members are in cahoot with the Republicans so much so that they are totally against every of Obama's legislative ideas - The heathcare bill has derailed, the climatic bill is in the cooler etc. - these are major legislations that will make or mar Obama's presidency. The Republicans are united in opposition and none of their members in Congress have voted in favor of any legislative bill that has Obama's imprimatur. You don't know this because you are not privy to the information that I have given above, so you can be excused. The gang up against Obama recently led to the Democrats losing the majority in the Senate - and what is more disturbing is the loss of the seat of the late Ted Kennedy of Massachussetts to a Republican. The last time a Republican represented the State in Congress was in 1972.

Obama's election WAS NOT A FLUKE ! It came down to careful planning & the kind of mobilisation (you are advocating for Africans above),in addition to good fortune which we all need. Fluke connotes sheer luck,no planning involved. So choose your words carefully.

As per 'Tea party',healthcare debate et all. . . like they say there are many sides to one story.

The economy,job less figures and racism are currently in play in american politics,add that to general fear-mongering by networks like Fox.

However by the next round of election other things may be in play,so don't jump to conclusions. If unemployment plummets to 2% by November,the 'Tea Party' movement will loose traction & the legislators (an independent arm of govt in America,not the pseudo-independence we have here),will be forced to move in the direction of their constituents.

Couple this with the historical precedents of the party in the White House losing the capitol in mid-term elections.

So when analysing american politics ,don't be swayed by the seemingly obvious. . . .DIG DEEPER !

I have said it long ago that if Yar Adua must be replaced by another Northerner then it should be this guy. Forget Yuguda, Saraki, Yayale, Aliero, et al. They are all servants of various cabals. Aliyu , if he were President , will facilitate , rather than block, national progress. That is the most important quality we require in a future Nigerian President. For now we must accept that no Nigerian politician will be perfect but a leader who will facilitate , progress, regardles of his own personal deficiencies, is what we need badly . What we don't want is a President like Yar Adua who is ready to impede the progress of Nigeria to please the various cabals around him.

in case you don’t know your history, Christianity was spread (not by force of course) mainly during the British colonial era, spearheaded by the Queen & her predecessors.
They seek to convert by reasoning & not by the sword, unlike some people we know.

Add that to the fact that religion has largely been relegated to the background by most Europeans (British inclusive)

You need to get all your facts.

How many times has she attended sittings,how many bills has she sponsored/co-sponsored?

How many times has your constituency been mentioned in this legislative session?

You may have a few youth orgs on your side ,but getting into the NASS is much more than that.
