I don't think it's an A24 movie through and through. They probably just helped Apple TV produce the film. Just as they help Hulu with Ramy.
It’s an a24 original

Knock at the Cabin- 7/10
Although I still can't believe Shyamalamn still has a job after Avatar; but I still stand on the ground that he's still one of my best directors of all time.
Bautista displayed class in this movie; not giving spoilers tho, but this is one of his best performances till date
The creativity of the movie is amazing buh the progress of the story is not as compelling and can be confusing buh still a fun to watch

Dark October 3/10
I can see the empathy and pain the real life event caused but this movie was so subpar that I couldn't feel any empathy towards the actors. I watched it with disgust.
The actors were very bad, I don't know where they got them from.
The directing was very bad, the cinematography na 'just manage', the camera work is nothing to write home about. The only thing that held up in the film is the rl story and nostalgia🌚😏

The only reason people went to watch this on cinema again is because of the death of Chadwick. The movie was worse than i imagined frs 😔. A very disappointing mess of a movie. People were saying it was emotional, but I didn't get any emotion from this movie at all, just a bunch of actresses crying and shit.

Clout ofc. The Razzles aren't getting the buzz anymore so they made a lot of stupid nominations this year

As in.... You know the drill.

A24 is like the HBO of movies. They rarely miss. Only A24 film I've been bummed about was The Green Knight. The rest has been masterclasses.

Ari Aster is surely one director you can't joke with his films. This doesn't really look like the horror fare Aster is used to with films like Midsommar and Hereditary. It's looking like Everything Everywhere All At Once but with darker themes.

If A24 wins Best Picture with EEAAO, I'd be super excited. It's a complete underdog story.
The shocking thing about Aster's movies is the complexity of his movies and people can still understand and enjoy it nonetheless, he's like the Christopher Nolan of Horror Movies- complex and still understandable and interesting

Well saying it's the one of the best series finale ever is a bit overstretched, however in recent times from 2022 to 2023, the finale of shantytown is one of the best World wide except if you just want to look down on it because it's from NIGERIA.
The twist in the last episode was mind blowing and epic and no one saw it coming.
Who thought that ini Edo's twin was alive and that she wasn't the real one?
That twist right there was world class, kudos to the writers.
The scene where all the women used a knife to stab that guy called scar was epic too.
Even some top Hollywood series has never thought of such finale, they will usually just kill off scar in a normal battle but that twist of having the Ladies stab him to death was an epic twist.
The fight scene in the last episode was decent too.

Forget that it's NIGERIA, the last episode of shantytown is one of the best series finale world wide in recent times and i stand by it 100%. 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Even the way the series ended with Regina Daniels was epic too and it gives room for a proper season two and unanswered questions like who are the girls?
Who was the last person shown in the last scene? .

The series finale is Goated ✌️✌️✌️
All because of nyash. The fight sequences were rubbish

Bro, that Beau is Afraid is one A24 film I'm really hyped about this year. The trailer was bonkers 😃😂. I thought I was the only one hyped about the film. I posted the trailer two weeks ago, nobody respond.
Bro, 90% of A24 movies are so good that anytime they release anything, I'm in

Oscars sha finding a way to creep in Top Gun just cos of Tom Cruise. 😂😂 E sure me die say if no be am, that film no go smell this thing.
Prolly similar favouritism I'm seeing with Tar but that one still holds up and can defend its quality.

Prolly tactics to garner more viewership and audience interest back at the awards nominating hugely popular movies and blockbuster monsters in Maverick and Way of The Water, as well as top directors and loved actors.
I sha hope, Maverick receives NADA!!

Anyways, I try this year small sha. At least I'd say I'm 70-80% caught up on the Awards movies. Or at least have the rest on watchlist or downloaded. 🤨😎 Last year worse for me... 😰😢
Triangle of Sadness will surely win Best Picture sha

I'm still struggling to understand how The Batman was totally snubbed for Best Score. 😰😱 Like WTF did it miss that.

The Banshees of Inisherin over The Batman?? Bruh... Awards bodies are just trying their best to nominate the film for every category and up it's win as possible.
Like it still buggles me,it should be in best cinematography

Lol, it's not my favourite horror movie.

It's a very weird movie like Aflix said and I don't see it as everyone's cup of tea. It's definitely gonna turn off most especially people who ain't familiar with that sort of trope and theme.
It's one of the weirdest horror films I've ever watched. When I was done watching it sef I was like what the fvvk did I watch. 😃
But the writing, directing and the acting most especially as well as the story as it's very different sets it apart from the rest. It's also prolly the movie that brought Florence Pugh to the limelight. Since it's from A24, there's a huge possibility of being mindfvvked. 😁😀
The weirdness of the film and why it's a townhall different from Bulaba is why it's mostly in top recommendations.

I wouldn't really recommend to anyone who isn't deep into horror movies and arthouse flicks.
Did you enjoy Hereditary? I can't wait to be mindfvvked with Aster's next movie Beau is something 😂🌚
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Illusioneffect(m): 10:33am On Jan 25, 2023
Aflix:
Midsommar 4:/10

A very weird movie that I think its primary aim is showing a culture of the Swedish people. It does this pretty well (don’t know if the depictions are accurate) without following it up with a compelling story to balance things. The movie gives a sense of something better to come, so you hang on, expectantly lipsrsealed only to end up disappointed at the end.

Everything about this movie is weird and I wouldn’t recommend it. The sex scene is something I have never seen. I have not been able to phantom it till today.

I wouldn’t advise anyone to go watch.
That's your point of view tho,if you don't like hereditary, you won't enjoy this movie. But I absolutely enjoyed watching the movie, its idea of horror was enthralling and I was hooked from beginning to end. You won't enjoy it because you may not understand its concept and style. Weird is not bad but original
Midsommar is a 9/10 for me. Cant wait for the next Ari Aster movie Beau something

lmao...
I don't fall for those kinda bait ...

When they say a series is so good just cos critics hype it...
But then nobody can tell you what is special about it...
People just rate it because critics rate it

Same reason why I haven't watched The Wire...
I've not seen a single review telling me what makes it one of the best...

It is just the usual "critically acclaimed"... "Critically rated to be one of the best" bla bla bla
Bro you're definitely right, critics and rotten tomatoes made me watch some films I regret downloading. Nowadays I just go for audience scores on rotten tomatoes instead of critics
