APC would have given Amaechi presidential ticket because of his sacrifice to the party but they chose to show him that apac is an Islamic brotherhood.

What sacrifice? He was a two time minister of one of the largest portfolio despite his state not bringing in anything in terms of election results. If not that Buhari really likes him and his amiable character, he'd have probably been disregarded long ago.
More people outside his state love him, vote for him and stand for him than his own people.

Ameachi is the leader of his party in his state. If he can't win others to himself, he should be able to keep the ones he has. This is not the first or even third news of major defections under his nose. Little wonder he has been largely ineffective in his state, with Wike his former boy taking him for a ride,and thank goodness he didn't win the primaries. He's not a strong politician, just opportunistic. i like him though.

You're correct on the wacky Nigerian politics. i don't know the plans of the major contenders but they sure know their onions on ground, not online. It's not by being dirty, whatever you mean. It's by the grassroots. Like Atiku said, a majority of the people who vote are not on social media. In Nigeria, social media still remains a storm in a tea cup. They know the millions of uneducated, illiterate and poor people that don't know anything than block voting, voting like cow. That's the reality on ground. Most people making noise on social media are first time voters. Maybe they'll spring a surprise but it's very unlikely. There are millions of stark illiterates who have been voting since 1999, dey no dey miss am. Those millions are what you are all ignoring but the main political candidates are banking on while you dance away on nairaland.
