Watch out for Wesley Sneijder

Bardsley should start ahead of Brown

He should be tested
Bardsley was awful when he was on loan at Villa.I didn't know he came back to Utd.I would prefer O'Shea or Pique there

Lescott gini? that boy scares people off with his ugly face  grin and he is a CB isn't he?
Na part of his repertoire. To scare wingers. He is naturally a centre-back but he has been playing as left back.He has been excellent.Pacy, strong, good positioning and brilliant in the air.He doesn't offer the same attacking threat as Clichy,he is right footed, but he is more solid defending. He has already scored 2 goals this season
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 9:19pm On Sep 03, 2007
Giggs can't play on the left anymore.Either he plays centrally or he doesn't play at all.Its better to have Rooney or Tevez playing on the left not as out and out winger but flanking the main striker in a 3 man attack formation.

In some ways, the left flank is a problem.Neither Nani nor Anderson are ready yet.

Milan did show that you can play good football without a winger. They play with Gattuso and Seedorf on the flanks. You might say we are losing our tradition of bombing down the wings but I can't see the strikers any of our wingers are supposed to be crossing for.We have 2 midgets in Tevez and Rooney and only Saha is a fox in the box striker.

9ja4eva:
Giggs for that role?

Hmmm
At his age,he doesn't have the stamina or pace to be roving down the flanks. You remember towards the end of 2005/2006,he partnered O'Shea in the centre of midfield. He was outstanding.I have seen there many times, first time being against W.Ham,I believe in 99/00.

Scholes is no longer the box to box midfielder he used to be.He doesn't really make that many runs into the box anymore. He is however effective still, from a deeper role.Giggs, just playing off the pointman has the vision and creativity to be devastating

My 4-4-2 will be the same as yours but my 4-3-3 will be slightly different

Even Joleon Lescott better pass Clichy. That boy is the most underated defender in the Premiership. He is simply outstanding.Wenger was interested in signing him at some point but lost never followed it up
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Iman3(m): 8:42pm On Sep 03, 2007
I would rather have Aberloa in my team than Clichy.I have seen Clichy many times and his positional sense is appalling. He is hopeless in the air and is not the best tackler in the world
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 8:38pm On Sep 03, 2007
What do you think about the point I made earlier about our inability to score.I think its simply beyond the issue of unavailable forwards.Towards the end of last season,we couldn't score either. We haven't scored more than 1 goal in over 10 games now.

Its probably down to our adoption of a 4-3-3 formation which requires a focal point-a fox in the box striker with physical prescence. Our best run last season came at the beginning of the season when we played 4-4-2

I-Man, hold your ears well well and here this:
Clichy is the best left back in the premiership
awaiting your normal misinformed reply.
So you are telling me Clichy is better than Ashley Cole,Evra or Riise?I don't think he is even as good as Gareth Bale.He definitely can't defend and s mainly useful for his surging runs down the left
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 5:55pm On Sep 03, 2007
@Rikky

You are wrong about Liverpool. They are more likely to finish ahead of us.I believe 2 seasons ago, they only finished 1 point behind us.They are better than they were 2 seasons and they are going to maintain their good start.

Arsenal are certainly a flash in the pan.The title is going to be a 3 horse race but with the start Liverpool have made, they are already favourites ahead of Utd

I love the lack of irony displayed in one of the hooker's comment-

They made me feel cheap," she moaned. "I've slept with about 200 clients and I've never been treated with such little respect. They didn't care about our feelings. They didn't even talk. They just moved our bodies into the right positions."

They weren't saying anything when Ashley Cole, while still a Gunner, had a gay 3some where he reportedly stuck mobile phone up his ass and put it on vibrate. They all kept quiet

PS:Ashley Cole won a defamatory suit in regards the above but the story has a lot of credence grin

TWO of the five escort girls who romped with Cristiano Ronaldo and his Man Utd pals last night ripped the pants off what REALLY happens when a team of £150-an-hour hookers tackles a multi-million pound midfield.

Tyese Cunningham and Gemma Storey revealed how they teased £120,000-a-week Ronaldo and fellow stars £14m Nani and £17m Anderson with Tesco's finest sexy knickers.

Why was Giggs not on the bench?
On the bench at the pool party? Are you saying he is the "fat man"?  grin

Fergie doesn't have double standards,he has simply changed his way of operating. He is more laid back now.In the era of the multi-millonaire player, you can't use the same heavy handed approach that was possible,15 years ago.

I remember Fergie once stormed a party and sent Giggs and Sharpe home like a bunch of school boys. Most footballers do these kind of things.

PS:Giggs had a knock in training on Friday but should be ready for Everton

What would Steve Bennett want with Fabregas or Toure?
He has sent Ronaldo out twice in 3 seasons . . . .He is a bloody PLONKER.
I remember that Roy Keane had a number of red cards from one particular ref.I think it was Elleray

Even talking about Arsenal, in the game against Fulham, we were denied a clear penalty earlier for a foul on Hleb, so we don't always get the decisions either, ditto for last season against W/Ham. In fact I'm sure stats will show Hleb to be the most fouled player in the 18 yard box  grin grin
You see am.We never get 1 penalty,some people are claiming a 4th

debosky:
our game play simply involves short passes and runs into the box that are not well anticipated resulting in those fouls and penalties wink
Wasn't Evra fouled against City. What about the handball by Sunderland? There are inummerable instances where United have been denied penalties by refs who want to show to the public that they can stand up to the biggest team in England.

The only negative point for Gunners is that they are more likely to be booked for a foul than anyother team in the Prem even though they commit the least fouls

Banderas:
Jackal, it's normal, when your team plays amazing football, you kept getting fouled. And we don't award the penalties, it's the ref that awards them,
So Utd doesn't play good football as well? When you think of the fact that Arsenal got more penalties than Chelski and Utd combined, you will know its beyond just playing amazing football.

What about yesterday.SWP was clearly fouled by Laursen ,straight out of the WWF,but ref looked away.I know Chelski got a dodgy pen against Liverppool but Arse-anal fans are luckier than they admit

I remember reading an OPTA analysis in the London Times that noted that Utd strung more passes and spent the most time in the opposition's box than any other team. How come it takes us 3 years to get awarded the same amount of pens Arsenal gets in one year?

Jackal:
@ Banderas,

3 games at Emirates . . . .3 Penalties.
Is it a coincidence?

Remember what Mourinho said 2 seasons ago when Pires and Henry tried to play rummy with penalty.
Moaninho said . . . .Arsenal can afford to monkey with a penalty because they get too MANY penalties in one season.
Arsenal got 12 last season in the league alone. They have had 3 this season in 3 weeks. . . . .I hope it wont clock 20 by May 08.
They got more penalties in the League last season, than we have had since November 2004.That is incredible. . . funny thing is,they still complain and claim refs are unfaur against them

If you were the manager of a team and you were told to choose, for your central-defensive partnership,2 from Vidic ,Terry,Carvalho and Toure. Are you saying you will choose Toure?

I-man, can we discuss this? Are you honestly claiming that Toure doesn't rank amongst the top defenders in the premiership?
The point is that he is not the best.He is atleast behind Vidic,Terry,Carvalho and Carragher

I was just saying if you see that RVN's stats were much better than Drogba's,then how can one say Drogba was the best when even RVN's stats pale in signficance compared to Totti's .Damn, even Afonso Alves was better than Drogba.

It was actually Francesco Totti that won the Golden Boot. Not even RVN and definitely not Drogba.Totti's all round contributions in terms of assists was immense all season
