@ Jackal,
I think you don't any beta thing to say than for Wenger and this to swap team, Wenger and that to swap team? This same Wenger led the £30M or whatsoever team to thrash you @ OldTrafford last season,Fergie grand master has limits to Wenger's.So shut the mess up. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
Sheffield Utd also beat Arse. . . . without a fukcing goalie for that matter.Does that mean Wenger has "has limits to Warnock"? What about W.Ham who beat you home and away.

Compare and contrast.3 European Victories and 12 league tiltles to Wenger's 4 league titles and zero Euro triumphs

Scholes, Evra, Rosicky and one Arsenal player were just toying and doing child's play before that cross was delivered.
What was SCHOLESY doing on the ground trying to act like a wounded hyena?
There was a blatantly clear foul in the build up to that goal.Come to expect dodgy refereeing at the Emirates. Neville is better than any fulback the Gunners have got.

Being a good full back doesn't meant you never drop a few clangers.I think Nev let his guard down for that RVP goal.It was poor defending but Nev comes good most times

Drogba has had one good season, well 2,if you count the last one at Marseille. In between,he has been either mediocre or just average.

For a 28 year old,2 excellent seasons doesn't make one the world's best striker

I-man, hahaha. I don't know what position Cantona played, so I only started watching the premiership lately? For your information, Cantona retired in 1997 - that's 10 years ago. Some of us were busy schooling in those days, and were unable to follow football. But if you call 10 years recent, then perhaps I should call you papa?
So when did you actually start watching football?

Wenger won only 1 league title at Monaco before getting the boot for finishing 9th grin Fergie won 3 League titles at Aberdeen and they were begging him to stay. They are not in the same league
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 2:23pm On Sep 03, 2007
I think our goal scoring problem is not just about Rooney and Ronaldo's abscence. When was the last time we scoreed more than1 goal in a game ?It must be going to 11 games now.Our problem started towards the end of last season.

Its a hangover from last season. It could have something to do with our move to a 4-3-3 system. When we were scoring goals freely at the beginning of last season,we were playing 4-4-2.At some point,we changed to 4-3-3 and although it worked excellently against Roma,we sometimes struggle playing that way especially without a goal poacher who is physical like Saha,Smith or Larsson.

Offensively,4-4-2 is our best formation but it leaves us vulnerable at the back.Rooney and Ronaldo coming back will help tremendously but Fergie has to look into the team's formation

Jackal - you have a point. I wouldn't go ahead and say Drogba is the best striker, but I'll say this for sure - he certainly is one of the very best. I rate him alonside superstrikers like Etoo, Anelka and Berba. I rate him above anything that Arsenal or Manure have at the moment.
So you would rather have Drogba than Van Persie? Even Jackal's dog knows Van Persie is far better than Drogba
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by Iman3(m): 2:11pm On Sep 03, 2007

No. Fergie is NOT superior to Wenger. Until Fergie fields an £40M team, we can't compare them. Rooney and Ronaldo alone almost cost more than the entire Arsenal squad, which is valued at about £34M (we don't know Almunia's fee)
When Fergie won 3 league titles in 7 years with Aberdeen, how much did the team cost compared to Celtic and Rangers. When he won the European Cup Winners Cup,how much did his team cost compared to Barcelona who he beat in the final.

How many league tiltles did Wenger win at Monaco?Keep using the money excuse. When we won the treble,4 of the players in our regular starting line up were products of the youth system-Neville,Scholes,Beckham,Giggs.The Arsenal starting 11 in those days was more expensive then.

It seems you started watching the Premiership recently. Was it not you that insisted Cantona was a midfielder?

@ Loyika,

I am disappointed in Wenger's records.
If u add it to the fact that he is yet to win back to back titles and never won the UEFA champions league then its more appaling.
Gunners always tell you Fergie had a lot of time before he turned Utd into the best team in England. When Wenger took over Arse, they were 3rd in the League and had won the league twice over the previous 7 years, incuding the European Winners Cup.

11 years after Wenger took over, they are still not the best team in England.3 league titlles in 11 years is impressive but at this point,Fergie had won 4 and also won a European trophy.I wonder how long Gunners will wait

Even if the season ended now,Gunners won't still win the League  grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Iman3(m): 12:23pm On Sep 03, 2007
Apparently, that pedophile(Wenger) at the Emirates thinks Fabregas is the new Scholes. What a joke

"When he was a young boy he scored goals and that's a nice disease to have, sometimes it disappears but it always comes back when you are mature.

"He has a lot of characteristics of Paul Scholes I think. Frame, intelligence in the game, passing ability, knowing when to go in the box. He's only 20, people forget that."

@ I-man,

The Arses must be over the moon.
Most of em think they have won the league already because they r sitting temporarily in the pole position.
I cannot but LAUGH . . . . . . . . .Just watch the way United is climbing and grinding out results without playing well.
Dayuuuuuuum, I can't believe Ronaldo has served his 3-match ban . . . .He will be fresher and fitter.
The real battle starts with Everton at Goodison . . . . . Gary Neville's return and Ronaldo will def'ly put United in a fight mode.
I am so confident United will rule the roost by MATCHDAY 10.
Gunners are all brain dead. Its been long since they saw themselves so high up,they are getting dizzy with excitement. grin  grin I have never seen a more deluded collection of pea brained "football" fans .Enough of those dickheads anyway.

Neville's return will give us some width.I don't think Neville will start immediately,he will find it hard to cope with the pace of the game as he has been out for a long time. For now we will have to make do with Brown. Brown can defend but he can't cross even if his life depends on it.

Ronaldo's return is more important. He should replace Nani who, though decent,is no where near Ronnie's quality.I think Fergie should start with a 3 man attack of Saha,Rooney and Ronaldo. He should play 3 in the centre of midfield-Scholes and Hargreaves with Giggs just behind Saha.

I don't think Giggs has the pace and energy to be effective down the flanks. His vision and football brain will be better utilised playing centrally.

This is where the season gets interesting.Very soon the men will be seperated from the boys.A couple of weeks ago Man City were "title contenders"  grin

Which one be scrapping result form?
I can pinpoint 5 matches that chelsea won by a large margin yet win handsomely.
We beat Watford by 4 goals to nothing yet we played complete rubbish
No mind them. With the exception of the game against Pompey.Arse-anal have been getting scrappy results since the League began this season.Luckily for them,3 of the 4 games they have played were at home.

I think all the problems going on behind the scenes have undermined Jose. When you have Roman telling him how the team should play,it doesn't help.Chelski's biggest obstacle this season is Chelski. The League is theirs to win if only backroom problems won't destroy them.

All of a sudden,Gunners fans are quacking like a bunch of kids on ectasy.Get hold of yourselves, this is the highest position you guys will ever find yourself in the League Table for this season. It is downwards from here .

You have been lucky to play 3 of your 4 matches at home. That is the main reason you find yourself where you are. With time, you will soon go back to your natural position-4th place

I thought at the beginning of the season that you might end up in 3rd place.I think Utd or Liverpool will finish 3rd and Arse-anal will end up in 4th place  grin The best thing about having such a good start is that it creates false hopes.Your hopes are raised, only for them to be crushed. While the crushing is going on,I will be here as usual to celebrate your misery.  grin

Saha is the best finisher United have at the moment.Even Rooney is notoriously wasteful in front of goal.I think Rooney is one of the worst players in one-on-one situations. The good thing about Rooney though,is that you can play him on his own up front, thought that is not his best position. You can also stick him on the flanks in a 4-3-3 formation.

Tevez lacks that versatility that Rooney has.He plays best behind a pointman particularly in a 4-4-2 formation.Alternatively,he could be used on the flanks,as he is often used with the national team, especially cutting in from the left.I believe once he regains full fitness,he will be delivering the goods.

Saha should become our new Soljskaer. For various reasons,I can't see him getting a starting place even though he is our most clinical finisher. He has to make do with sitting on the bench.
