debosky:Shut up! You follow people wey dey claim say Assyrians be Protestants/Evangelicals? ![]() |
ThiefOfHearts:Even Mukina is totally clueless as to why David is supposed to apologise to her. He is supposed to apologise to someone who never asked for an apology ![]() |
Hey, it's not my call to "prove" your own blithering best just now. You made the call to "try and find Protestants as well" among the several places you listed - and I gave a small example of Iraq by citing Anglican and Evangelicals in that same link!I showed you the link to show that you guys are marginal in the larger scheme of things-that you are near totally absent amongst indigenes-not that you are non-existent. Anyway, for someone who pointed to the Assyrian Church inorder to refute a comment that Evangelicals/Protestants were non-existent for 1400 years. . . .I can only "admire" your "historical knowledge" I wish I'd more time to laugh this evening. . but anyhow, leave me some more jokes before I come back tomorrow.Hope you are not hoping that by tommorow, the thread would have moved on.You better come and point out where I said only Catholics existed for 5 or 15 centuries. . . . and also expand on how the Assyrians disprove my claim that Evangelicals/Protestants didn't exist for 1400 years.I go repost am,if you no respond ![]() |
Bottomline of the same link you gave said two pivotal things: Can I ask you a favour? Can you please find where I claimed Catholicism was the only Church untill the 5th century or 15 century.Just one place.I dey beg you You claimed we chased you into caves,I then noted that you didn't exist at the relevant time. What does the following have to do with Evangelical/Protestantism?-http://www.cired.org/liturgy.html They are not RCC but I never said they were. They have definitely no links to Evangelical/Protestantism |
Lol. . . did you see that the Assyrian Church is NOT Catholic - and it dates back to the 2nd century? Are you now claiming that the Assyrians and Chaldeans are Evangelicals/Protestants? So Protestantism dates back to the 2nd century ;DI don dey learn "history" Yada-yada! . . . this was your argument, dude:My argument was "near total absence" and you know that.If I thought they were non-existent,I would have claimed total absence and won't have cited the links.Keep up trying to prove that Evangelicals/Protestants are not near totally absent. PS:Abeg,do quick and come and "explain" this your "historical discovery" I dey wait very eagerly |
@Seun Abeg, unban the "bull" Nairaland is better off with its more intelligent members |
Iraq also has communities of Syrian Catholics, Syrian Orthodox, Copts, Armenian Orthodox, Armenian Catholics,How does the above controvert the "near total abscence" of Protestants and Evangelicals in places like Egypt,Iraq and Iran? The point is not that they don't exist,in which case I would have stated "total abscence",but they are a fringe minority amongst indigenes. Not non-existent but barely existent viz near total abscence. The link listed 5 Arab states and Iran, while mentioning Protestants/Evangelicals in two of them-I excluded Israel and the occupied territories. How did that controvert "near total absence"?Debating the composition of the indigenous Christian population in the Middle East and its fringe Evangelical/Protestant communities will be like debating whether the Mourides are near totally absent in the Muslim populace. No vex, I apologise. We just wanted you guys to write the bloody history before we came out from our holes where you chased us into! This is you at your blithering best! So you subscribe to the cave theory?(someone mentioned that the Protestants hid in caves from Catholics untill their emergence in the 15 century) How could we chase you into holes(caves) when you came into existence 1,400 years after the birth of Christianity ? What happened in the prior 14 centuries of Christianity? How can you chase people that don't exist? I admire your logic. You don't want facts to get in the way of your sectarian loyalties. That is why "near total absence" is repudiated by pointing to the Evangelical/Protestant fringe minorities. |
Excerpt from the Reuters story:Nigeria, for instance, had just one gun per 100 people. Ah!So Nigeria may be safer The fewer arms there are. . . .the more violence. This is what really matters, not the quantity of guns but the frequency of its use |
@Pilgrim 1 This is for you-http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4499668.stm Try and find Redeemed,Fire On The Mountain,Winners Chapel.e.t.c Actually, try and find Protestants as well Israel doesn't count since it guarantees religious freedoms.Good luckHaven't we been through this before to make you aware that indeed I knew when Protetstantism emerged?Ha!All along,I think say una be the "Biblical Church" post-Biblical times How could you have "emerged " when you were never gone.Na magic be that.So wetin come happen to the Biblical Church before una emerge? Dem go spiritual leave?im no dey fair o!Dem just leave idolatrous Catholics and Othordox Churches alone to fight off the Muslim invaders. Na wa! Why is it that Catholics like to be so self-accusative?Are you saying that Locoman is a Catholic? ![]() |
Banderas:You saw him play as a midfielder? Was it with those same eyes you saw Henry score at Old Trafford last season? If you don't know something, keep quiet, otherwise you will have the mickey taken of you.I think you need a trip to Specsavers. That will help you.You want me to prove that Eric was a striker? You are having a laugh. |
Banderas:The boy is still insisting! How old are you?I'm probably talking to a teenager |
Banderas:Jackal!abeg-talk to this boy! The above was his response to my comment here: Ronaldo's 17 Premiership goals is a record in the history of the Premiership for a midfielderDoes he think Eric was a midfielder? ![]() |
Cesc can not hold a starting place down, cause folks like Xavi and Alonso are first choice and senior to him in the squad. Will Scolari bench Ronaldo for Nani if both players are on form Ronaldo will always get the nod with Deco as they are senior National players (not age wise)You are talking drivel as usual.Ronaldo is in the team ahead of Simiao Sabrosa,a "senior" player to Ronnie, and Ricardo Quaresma who is a "senior" player to Ronnie-debuted as far back as 2003.By your reckoning, those 2 will always be ahead of Ronnie in the team, utter twaddle. If Fabregas was as good a player as you claim,he will get a starting place in the national team just like Ronaldo, seniority or no seniority.Your "seniority" ruse is farcical. |
Probably they were in the minority - hiding for fear of the same Catholic mercenaries who chased them around under every climeIf you don't know something, blustery won't cover your ignorance.Probably in the minority, heh? Except for one little detail-they didn't exist then! No Protestants. No Evangelicals. We wouldn't have had any discussions about Christianity, only the merits and de-merits of Shia and Sunni Islam!I will ignore your laughable comments about the Evangelicals and Protestants in the indigenous population of the Middle-East.Perhaps,there is a media conspiracy to suggest that almost all indigenous Christians are either Catholic or Othordox. |
Ronaldo's 17 Premiership goals is a record in the history of the Premiership for a midfielder. No sane person should talk of Cesc and Ronaldo in the same breath. How many goals did Cesc score?I believe he scored 2 or 3 goals all season in the League. That is 14 goals less than Ronnie. Ronnie has scored 12 goals in 36 games for Portugal. That is a goal every 3 games and compares favourably with any striker.Cesc can barely hold down a place in the Spanish team.At Cesc's age,Ronnie was already established in the national team. Cesc is a hero for Arse-anal but when you think of the fact that Arsenal finished empty-handed and 4 th last seaon, you can understand why. Not even Kaka can manage that amount of goals in the League plus assists.A midfielder is there to score goals and create opportunities for his mates.Statistically, the evidence is overwhelmingly in favour of Ronalldo as the best midfielder in the World last season. |
Banderas:Pass the weed bro.You must be smoking something. 19 assists refer to Ronnie's overall season total. It is silly to ignore the difference in goals scored by the 2 players. It wasn't mentioned,so it doesn't matter? What nonsense! |
AT times, i think it's cowardice and sheer stupid bigotry that propels people to make these comparisons. There are millions of Pagans out there that don't even believe in Jesus, tens of thousands of Nigerians that feel Christianity is a foreign religion. Go out there are convert these people. No matter what Christian sect he converts to, it still boils down to a soul won for Christ. If you follow developments in the Muslim world, you will notice that Christians in the Midlde East face unimaginable persecution. One thing is particularly staggering-the near total abscence of indigenous Evangelicals or Protestants in places like Iraq,Egypt or Iran. Our Evangelical brothers could go out there and help.I want to see Mountain of Fire,Redeemed,Zoe Ministries converting indigenes living in these horrible places. Its not enough to stay in the relative safety of the Western world and Nigeria and be ranting and raving about the evils of Catholicism. Where were these people when the Muslim Army swept through Spain,France,North Africa and most of the Byzantine Empire? Now that the world is relatively safe for Christianity,Catholicism ceases to be Christian and becomes idolatory. |
Ronaldo was the best player in the world last season.Period!Kaka was brilliant in the UCL but was barely above average in Serie A and Coppa Italia. Ronaldo was outstanding in the League,FA Cup and the UCL.He shone everywhere.19 assists!Even that midget-Fabregas-can't compare. As for Ronaldinho. In form,he is the best player in the world but he was anything but in form last season. Jackal:That's all you needed to say to him |
i'll assume from your post that shevchenko was a bum in AC Milan ?At the time Shevy came to Chelski,on the back of a woeful season with Milan,he was not worth £30 million.4 or 5 years ago, yes, but not last year. You might as well sign Raul or Trezeguet for that amount. Not even Henry or Ruud cost so much.Think of it.Shevy cost more than Henry and Ruud put together SWP was a decent player at City but definitely not a £21 million player. He was not even a regular for the national team.He was behind Becks and Dyer, when the latter is fit.You spent £21 million on England's 3rd choice right-winger. ![]() |
Saha will probably have an accident in the hair salon and be out for 30 weeks.I think Fergie should start using Dong more often, the Carling Cup will offer such an opportunity. It is better that no striker is signed than for Utd to sign some donkey out of panic |
There is always Dong Fanghzou ![]() |
I dey do "Bakassi spotting" when I dey Naija.Na my favorite hobby.Drive to school, dey check out the best Bakassis, the chicks had to offer I nearly had accident because of Bakassi. The thing na safety risk. |

Is hillary clinton more experienced than obama? if she is then let us know what makes her more experieced, being the wife of a preseident does'nt count as experience to me besides hillary is part of the conventional system in washington that seriously needs to be changed.I don't support either of them. |
If she has moved from a state of blind commitment to one of caution, all the better. |
debosky:Under what authority did this council convene? It certainly wasn't the Protestants or Evangelicals, neither of whom existed then.Emperor Constantine convened a council, whose product is the Bible we argue about today.Problem is,you now assert that Rome, knows nothing about the Bible. That is ludicrous. They just decided what to include. . .sure if it was obvious what to include, why did the Roman Emperor have to convene such an elaborate process to make such decisions.Couldn't the "early Church" have done that themselves instead of waiting for the Catholic Church? Was Constantine a model Christian? And you probably didn't know that Marian devotion was already rife at the time and predates the Council of Nicea.Did you say "some people"?Was it not the same set of people who composed the Council of Nicea? Without the Council of Nicea,we won't be here now talking about the Bible. |
@Banderas Can you explain to us why an African who can't speak Arabic is busy memorising Arabic texts? Why should anyone memorise at all even if in their own language? |
I hear you - that's why you've been going over to litter their thread, not so? I hear. . I hear.
They are not wholly coherent, just much better than you. Seriously, they are.No worries. The legitimacy of the Catholic Church which up until now you have found it unspeakably difficult to enunciate is what I'd like you to address. Is that why you are blithering ? ![]() |
Yes. . . more coherence from them that have rubbished Catholicism, not so?
They are undoubtedly more coherent From your post - go read it again: "Most Christians are Catholic or Othordox", did you not say?and you took that to mean . . .that I think Catholicism's legitimacy can be seen from its size? That is why I said you are blithering. ![]() |
It depends on just what basis you define "validity", because I nowhere have stated that I fail to recognize the "validity" of the RCC.What are you blithering about ? I have seen more coherence from Muslims in the Islam threads.Second, I don't think anyone is asking "if Christianity is the true religion", and you can't cop out that inference and apply it only to the Catholic Church simply because "most Christians are Catholic or Orthodox". The basic question is if any claim of any group stands the scrutiny of God's WORD.Where did that come from? |
Let's just ignore that slowpoke,Fynewanker. @Vieira So you predict that Arse-anal will outperform Chelski over the next 3 seasons? Keep dreaming.I know that is the case in the long term, over the coming decades, but not in the next 3 years.Arse-anal's foundations are more solid so they have better long term prospects. In the short term however,Chelski is still a better prospect. That means that Cole has greater chances of winning trophies with the Blues than Arsenal |
With all those old men in the team, why won't we "rule the World"? |
