A Christian is a new creation; a new species that never existed before @ Pepeye, Not quiet so sister, a christian is not somebody that is up there, an all time model in everything good, somebody that has got it all sorted out. This is an erroneous view, that Christians are one perfect specie of individuals, pure saints, straight from Heaven, exuding the beauty, purity & glory God, immune from errors. Such view, at best, represents the destination. God's presence is where we came from. That is where we fell from, as a result of sin and where we are headed at the end of the day. However, between that destination, that ideal and where we are at the moment, where we met God, where HE took us from, there is a process, a journey of a lifetime to go through. That process, that journey is what Christianity is all about. The notion that once you are born again, then you become, or should be like an angel had led to people keeping away from anything Christian, while some in the faith put themselves under unnecessary pressures in order to live up to expectations of outsiders. What do we end up with as a results of this? Bunch of hypocrites who say one thing and do something else, desperately trying to legislate purity and attain to it by themselves, failing woefully in the process. No wonder the mention of the term "Christian" in some circles evokes nothing but yawns and dismissive shrugs. A Christian is like an apprentice, a learner of the ways of Christ. An empty, dirty vessel, a foible-prone novice, brimming with ignorance who has come under the tutelage of the Saviour Jesus Christ to become better, to learn at His feet, to cast off his/her loads of ignorance layer by layer, believing that Jesus is what He said He is: the way, the truth and the Life. |

It is like saying: "Can you teach me how to talk with my father?" Prayer should flow from the mind naturally, you don't learn it by rote, what Jesus gave is a guideline, not a be-all and end-all. Bless you |
Thanks, the simple thing to have done is to post a link to their website here so that people can go there directly! why not do so |
A topic like like this will always generate wide & varied interests. What with the pains many have to go through to make money, what with tales, facts and figures about supposed "men of God" who are nothing but plain thieves, what with the selfishness of many of them. As a friend once told me, [and I agree completely] "remove tithes and many pastors will start looking for something else to do" No intellectual arguments over this issue will suffice, especially given the structure of many churches presently. You just go in on Sundays, praise & worship God, give your thithe & offering & you leave, whatever happened to you within the week, nobody cares, except you are close to the hierachy of the church. This is a far cry from what obtained in the old testament congregations and even the early church [as recorded in Acts of the Apostles.2:42-47]. But be all these as they are, I believe tithe paying is a mark of covenant relationship with God. My advise to those who are reluctant to obey this Injunction by reason of the attitudes of some men of God is to identify one who is not fake [several of them are real] and you can only do this if your faith in God is genuine [deep calleth unto the deep]. The truth is, while some are still arguing wether to pay or not, I know of those who pay far above the 10% recommended and instead of becomming poor, they are growing richer and richer in a transparently honest way! If tithe paying is not necessary Jesus would not have made that statement He made in Matthew 23:23 But just like everything else, people will always have, look for, make up and invent reasons for not doing whatever they do not believe in or want to do. |

OHH!! EVEN BETTER! thanks |
Oh dear! i fixed it! i refused to sleep when i noticed another wahala: newest posts coming on top of a thread instead of below. I went to Smf support forum where i was told to revisit and reset the profile section and in trying to fix that one, i noticed a tip, a couple of experiments and i was home and dry, late in the night! As a beginner, i must confess, SAM, you are rare! your prompt response puts my mind to rest, knowing that there is a solution! i have followed your thread for a while now, especially here on webmaster. Nothing to say than this, and its from the heart: GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY! |
thanks for your prompt response, here is the link: redeemedonline.net |

HR.hotness:almost close to what someone once told me: that LOVE is a firm decision to seek they welfare of the other person[s], regardless of what and who they are! |
Not really, but i once met a girl in a taxi to Area One, Abuja. To say she is gorgeous is simply an understatement. our eyes met and we both smiled but up till today, i cant really explain why i did not follow her up, [a whole sharp man like me!] i was simply frozen! it was when i got down from the taxi that i realized what i should have done, but then she had gone, forever |
LOVE LOVE LOVE, almost every one talks about it, craves for it, claims to have it, etc. Man meets woman, the two claim to be in LOVE, not long after they are worst enemies; Christians profess LOVE in the church, outside the church, they are gossiping and spreading lies about one another, some 'believers' even go to the extent of killing fellow humans to express LOVE for a higher being, the list goes on and on. The question is: do we really know what LOVE is? have we lost the meaning and essence of this noble ideal in definition? search within you and honestly tell us what is your definition of love? can humans express LOVE in its true meaning? |
@POSTER; thread carefully little sister! |

What is the big deal even if you wash your wife's clothes? i know chauvinists will want to hang me for this view, but think of it dispassionately, what is wrong? absolutely nothing |
This is the kind of situation whereby an Ibo man will tell you: nwayo-nwayo! It could be for real but be doubly sure the fantasy element is cleared off! |
