Politics › Re: Details Of The Student Loan Bill Signed By President Tinubu by Impersonator2: 9:30pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
Hamachi: Student loans are a financial burden which does not quite make sense on a pure accounting basis. So, you have signed up for a loan (a liability, surrender of your future earnings) and you have nothing to show for it. On the other hand, when you take a loan on a house (a mortgage), you have a liability (a mortgage) and an asset (a house), so when things get tough, you can sell the asset to cover that liability. And in a worst case scenario, you simply file for bankruptcy and walk away from it - with a beaten up credit score, but you recover fully in about 7 years (in US, bankruptcy is removed within 7 years from the person's credit profile). Easy. Simple. Elegant.
Now, we have a student loan. You take a loan and you spend money. You gain nothing tangible - no assets. You have an expectation of future earnings, but it's not a guarantee. However, once you are out of school, loan is due - regardless of whether or not you have means to pay for it, such as a job. Now, when things get very tough - let's say you need to pay rent and you need to eat and you would like to get a family - but the student loan is still there, and it's not going away. You can't discharge it in a simple bankruptcy. You can't make it go away in an easy way - it's a forever burden.
Summary
When we reach the point where politicians are running for office on a platform of, “free college for everyone,” you know that we have gone past the tipping point. “Free” college is just going to throw kerosene on this fire.
We are seeing some cracks around the edges, e.g. coding bootcamps and startup apprenticeships like Praxis, but what is needed is a better educated consumer.
PS
I saw a question on career section this afternoon. “Should I go to school X or school Y? (Money is an object, but I might get some financial aid at school Y.)”
School Y’s cost of attendance is more than twice that of school X. No thought of can I afford either one of these schools? No thought of preparing a financial analysis. We have a generation of irresponsible morons whose parents are mentally absent. That’s why we have a financial aid crisis.
💭Leadership is not about seeking personal glory, instead its about taking responsibility for the people you are in charge of.
🎯Some key takeaways:
✔️Responsible leaders take accountability for their actions. Instead of blaming others, they identify the problem and try to fix it.
✔️Therefore, to become responsible leaders professionals must remember to take accountability for actions and stop blaming others for their mistakes.
✔️One of the foremost qualities in a successful employee or leader is a willingness to accept Responsibility for one's actions and behavior, good or bad.
✔️Taking Responsibility means making decisions, taking action, setting high standards, learning from our mistakes and always doing what we say.
✔️Lastly, leadership is about setting an example. Let see his grandchildren, relatives & family members participate in these students loan i think you are an enemy of progress and also an antagonistic person. You know how many people no get money to go school, if they can make this loan available to poor men's children it would be great! besides, 10 percent of your salary monthly is like groundnut money. incase you don't know 10 percent of 100k is just 10k, tithe money. no be every government policy you go criticize. |
Sports › Re: Manchester City Complete Historic Treble With Champions League Success by Impersonator2: 12:51pm On Jun 11, 2023 |
Drienzia: For some reasons, I don’t consider Pep as an exceptional coach like the media portrayed. Any manager to have coached City since the Arab owner took over had always won the EPL. Mancini did, Pellegrini did, unluckily they had just three years each. It took Pep 7yrs to win it with City, it’s possible both previous managers would had done it if they were given same number of luxury years create, dynamite and recreate a stronger team.
The two previous managers built City and left a strong City side with the likes of Toure Yaya, Vincent Kompany, Aguero etc, so it’s safe to say Pep inherited a strong city side and built on it.
Pep is a great coach no doubt but certainly not a tactical genius as the likes of Klopp’s Liverpool, Mourinho’s Chelsea of 2004, and Ferguson’s UTD that created a mountain out of a molehill. For the past 7yrs at City he spent over a billion euros, no manager has spent such in a single spell in a team, so winning the UCL is the barest minimum.
Congratulations to City, and it’s safe to say the EPL is the new farmers league, the reason also is not because of Pep’s brilliance, it’s because football has died not only in England but the entire Europe and we have so many players with no passion but just for the weekly wages. The generation of Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry, Sketel, Puyol, Abidal, Evra, Cole, Henry, Kaka, Lampard, David Villa, Kompany, Chellini etc was the last generation of talent based and passion oriented football. it's okay to cry |

you are cheap to get just like Nigerian girls, next time please look for something bigger in a politician before you begin to lick his balls.
take for example a man like Peter obi, never stolen government 1 Naira before and rejected all luxuries that comes with being a Nigerian governor, now that is virtue. |

you see the problem is the family, the family is the basic and first ground of morality and values. a faulty family is a faulty society. Tinubu, thugs, and bad politicians are all a product of a bad and faulty family. These children grow up to become thugs and bad politicians and they pepertrate evil in the society.
The family has failed, nowadays we just breed children like dogs and leave them to go and fetch our daily bread. Some fool even said that the more kids in your family the more respect you'll have, so kids is now like trophy. In My nextdoor neighbor there's an unmarried single yoruba mom of about 7 kids and counting cos i know she still has plans, every year one kid, different fathers. now the eldest son is barely 17 he follows gang smoke weed and burgled aboki shop because mom is barely at home, where's the food to eat sef, drink gari in the morning, gari in the afternoon and gari at night again. Tomorrow now they will use them to snatch ballot boxes and give them peanut.
FAMILY HAS FAILED. |
