All right,

Thanks for this re-assurance. Let me wait for the next draw and see what the cutoff will be before i apply for the new evaluation. I might still get lucky with my 438.

cochtrane:

I'm pretty sure you'd get a positive evaluation for any completed stage of ACCA (ranges from one-year college diploma to Bachelor's degree). There are a few people on this thread who got positive evaluation.

Good morning good people. So WES completed my ECA but they didnt include my ACCA advanced diploma. They sent me email saying the evaluation was already ongoing and they couldnt modify it at the time i sent my request. So i've already entered the pool at 438.

I want to modify the ECA by adding the ACCA advanced diploma(for finishing F1 to F9) which would take my score to 478. But before i pay the $100 for the new evaluation, i need someone to help me confirm whether they have ever received a positive evaluation based on the ACCA diploma, instead of the full ACCA. I sent them an email and tweet inquiring about the same but they keep sending me automated replies.

Inception12:
Hello people, another quick question. Am currently waiting for my WES evaluation and my predited score is 438. I've seen online that if you've passed ACCA papers F1 to F9, they award you with an Advanced Diploma in Accounting & Business. Am currently planning to sit for my last papers (P4 and P5) in June so i should be qualifiying for this award.

With a BSc only, my score is 438, but if i instead put 2 or more certificates, my score goes to 478. Am wondering if anyone has ever evaluated ACCA with WES for only the diploma part and gotten a good answer from them.

Ideally, it shoud take them 2 weeks or so to finalise the ECA after the verification is received and accepted. They usually send the ECA a few days before their estimated completion date.

Guitarlife:

Thank you brother but how much longer does it take after this stage ?
It took me almost 5 months to get to this stage.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 7:25am On Mar 07, 2018
There should be an expected completion date in your account when everything is finished.

Guitarlife:
Dear Good people how much longer do you think i have to wait before my wes can be concluded.
My school just verified my results.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 4:24pm On Mar 05, 2018
I've already got the certificate and sent it WES via hellofax. It's as simple as getting it from myacca so no trouble there.

The pass rates for all 3 papers(4,5 and 7) are roughly the same. It took me time and after lenghty consultations, i settled on those 2. It will end in praise am sure.
happytbaby:
10days for you to get the certificate, not for them to send to WES. ACCA is on point when it comes to sending documents to WES, it does not need verification and it's free.

I am actually more concerned about P4 not P5...lol...sometimes sha....it may be the candidate's strenght.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 3:55pm On Mar 05, 2018
Thank you for the advise. I've proceeded to do as advised though am wondering why ACCA would take 10 days to send documents to WES.
Wouldn't they just send an email considering they already have an existing relastionship.

As per the bolded, my role requires P5 unfortunately though from what i've seen, the pass rates between P7 & P5 are really not that different. Thanks for the advise though. Much aprreciated

happytbaby:
I advise you log into your 'myacca' on accaglobal.com and use the contact us to send an email to ACCA and ask.

You can also contact them and ask them to send your transcripts to WES, I know they used to mail certificates for these intermediate qualifications routinely once you passed but I do not know if they still do it. So just ask them to send to you if you do not have it. They can arrange to have it done in 10 or so business days.

As advised by someone else, mail WES to include additional diploma. ACCA has an arrangement with them so they are in tune with ACCA qualifications, I will be surprised if you do not get an additional qualification from the diploma.

So let me offer advice that you did not ask for, if I may ask why do you want to write P4 and P5? What about P7? I advise you consider the options carefully before you choose what you want to write. It is better to qualify on time than to write the option you 'love'.

Thanks dear. I've already sent WES my ACCA certificate and an email asking them to evaluate the ACCA diplomaas well. I hope i wasn't too late because they've already finished evaluting the BSC and given me an ECA expected date.

I evaluated my acca advanced diploma with WES along with my BSc and it was evaluated as 2 or more

Thank you so much for this. From the research, I've discovered that it's possible. But WES has already received and accepted all the documentation for my BSc and given me a tentaive date for the ECA.

Is it still possible for them to do the ACCA evalution or i would have to pay for that separatley because i had not included the ACCA evlauation and i nolonger see that option under modify order.

nat138:

Wow! See the massive changes in the scores (40points!). There have been discussions on this thread around ACCA evaluation, please use the search tab and search for ACCA under the travel section. Some useful information should come up.

Thank you for this. I haven't really gone far as well, still waiting for my ECA from WES. Just needed this info for my planning purposes. I guess the processing fee must be refundable in case you don't make it. God bless.
Saintp:

You are ahead of me in the process. However, there are 2 fees that would be paid by each adult, the processing fee and the RPRF fee. You can choose to pay the RPRF later when they request but you must pay processing fee before you submit. If you choose to pay both at the same time, you will be paying 1040CAD
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 4:25pm On Mar 01, 2018
Yeah, my bad. I might have clicked on a different category. But anyway, my question remains: When do you pay which fee and when? It's got me a bit confused. Kindly help clarify

Saintp:

I just checked their site, the fees has not changed. I think you should check the options you selected.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 3:22pm On Mar 01, 2018
Yeah, it's gone up by a few dollars. I guess they keep adjusting it upwards just like the POF

Saintp:

I thought processing fees + RPRF = 1040 CAD for each adult. Has the fees changed?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 1:43pm On Mar 01, 2018
In line with this question, what's the most approporiate time to pay these fees listed below. I seem to be confused about which applies where:

Your fees
We recommend you pay the right of permanent residence fee ($490) now to avoid delays. You will have to pay it before you become a permanent resident.

Fees $CAN USD
Your application

Processing fee ($1050) and right of permanent residence fee ($490)

1,540 N/A

A mathematician or statistician... can add data science, machine learning, deep learning, big data analytics, computational nueroscience, remote sensing, wireless sensor networks etc to your area of expertise...

Thank you for the info. As a statistician, am sigining up for a data science course to help me when i finally land in Canada. IT is reallly taking over every field now and we cant hide from it now, we got to embrace it.
Hello bosses,
I have been meaning to post this for some time now.

The IT Field...

It is no news that the IT sector is now linked to every other sector we have now. This has led to expansion in almost every field in order to accommodate the emergence of technology. This brings me to my point.

For those who would want to make a switch to IT, you can do so without being a full blown computer scientist etc.
Look inward, there is a particular area in your field that you can apply to IT and Vice versa.

For example:

A medical doctor can add medical informatics to his or her expertise. Go to some class, study medical imaging, bioinformatics etc, understand their workings. In the end you have 2 fields that offer endless possibilities.

Hello beautiful People,

How bad (long in this case) is the IQAS evaluation process? I've now spent 2 months going back and forth between my school and WES regarding something as simple as verification and honestly am just tired. Is there someone who has recently concluded the iQAS process to give me an idea of the current timelines?

This is fantastic. I think i should try to do this as well. How long did it take you from the time you got back to Nigeria to when you got that successful interview.

behati:
Hello house, been silently following the thread. So I got PPR last year and did soft landing because I sort of wanted to get a job or at least be in the process of getting one before I move. I got the freetone app, included the number on my CV and applied for jobs. More recently, I started to contact talent attraction managers of the companies I was interested in on LinkedIn, it was hard for me to do but I decided to anyway since the worst I'll get is a "NO". Some didn't respond and I would send reminders after a week or two and I started getting positive replies, emails, phone interviews and video interviews. Summary is i just got a job in Canada right here in Nigeria. Although the job required someone with a CPA designation, i managed to convince them that i had ICAN which would make it easy when i want to obtain a CPA designation.

Just thought to encourage someone to TRY!

I feel your pain, this verification thing of WES isn't just annoying. After struggling with getting a transcript, you then have to pray that the Univ gets and then acts on the WES verification request. To make matters worse, WES claims to send emails but these universities never get them it seems. And apparently, verification is only required for African universities.

nanaghano:
My transcript from unilag got to WES last week irrespective of the strike. I have a contact and I paid more. Now WES sent me a message on Friday that they sent photocopies of my documents to unilag. Pls how soon will unilag get them as my contact is looking out for thme but hasn't gotten them yet?
Any useful response will be appreciated thanks.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have an insider in the registrars' office who confirmed that no email has been received from WES yet. And she says that many people have complained about the same issue with WES verification emails.

I guess my next step is to use your facebook route and send them nonstop messages and until they check into their system.

WES claims they send physical mail to the school. Am wondering how long that would take to reach the school?

balogunsam:

You will receive a mail to that effect..if you do not get a mail, contact them via Twitter, Facebook or whatever means necessary.

@Inception12 the same thing applies to you sir.

Here is my experience

I waited for about two weeks for the school to receive the verification request WES claimed to have sent but got nothing. Then i was able to get the contact of someone on the registrar's office who confirmed nothing like that came for me. He then gave me an email address to give WES to send the request to but WES said they could not do that. I then started mounting pressure on WES via Facebook and i complained bitterly till one of the customer reps said he would look into it and we had to wait hours for facebook message replies but it worked out as he discovered there was a sort of system malfunction that did not allow the verification request reach my school despite showing them tht it went through. This was instantly fixed and i got an email instantly that the verification request has been sent to the school. I called my contact the following day, he logged in and confirmed they'd received it.

1. The main help you need is having someone on ground that can confirm receipt of the verification request
2. There is no instant way to reach WES. Most take time or will not go through. However, facebook worked for me

Cheers!

Hello good people,

How long does the physical mail that WES uses for verification take to reach? The university has denied receiving an email form WES regarding my verification and apparently WES cant disclose the email they sent to due to confidentiality reasons.

I've emailed them to resend it but i got the generic email below:

Your academic records have been sent to the institution for verification by email and mail. The status for these documents will be updated in My Account once their response is received and accepted by WES.

We appreciate your patience in allowing your former institution sufficient time to respond to our request.

I wish i had used IQAs

It depends on which stage you're at:

1. If before AOR, your points are recalculated to include your spouse
2. If after AOR, you need to raise a CSE and inform your VO as soon as you're married and they will ask for some documents for your spouse which you will have to upload
3.If after COPR, you have to return the COPR and then upload some documents for your spouse and if everything is okay, they'll issue new COPRs for you and your spouse.

Hello,am a bit clueless about PNPs. But the bolded got my attention. Is the $1,500 paid for Ontario PNP different from the Visa fee you have to pay after PPR? Was thinking about that PNP if the draws fail to drop to the 430s but that would imply paying close to $3,000 if one is to go through PNP.

dannio:

Hold on do not respond to the nomination (NOTICE OF INTEREST-NOI) yet.Check l believe you have around 6 months to submit your application. But once you respond by accepting this nomination you are given a short timeline of 14 calendar days to apply and if you do not you will loose it.(House correct me here).

Mean while watch the trend of the next couple of draws within this period closely (confirm the 6months application timeline) if it drops to 430 and below and you get ITA YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO respond to your ITA only. But if you feel you can not wait and wish to get into the pool accept but before then have all your valid documents ready to apply because the timeline of the window to submit your application is very short.

Also there is an application fee of $1,500 charged for the process non refundable.

Use this opportunity to do some findings about Ontario Provincial Nomination Program.

Let say this hold this nomination in hand first do not be in a hurry to accept yet.Watch the trend of the next couple of draws

This makes a lot of sense. I've been thinking about Mississauga and the GTA for my landing spot as well but every passing day Alberta seems to make more sense. I guess the best option is to land in the GTA and experience it yourself firsthand for a month or so and if the situation doesn't seem like you'll get the job, you can always just pack your bags and head west.
Rebarobyn:

Association of recently landed tourists....una wehdone o ..eku enjoyment...chairman association/tour guide ballerz pls put me on waiting list smiley

On a different note you guys should pls share job search experiences in the GTA..I was planning on landing in GTA but the cost of living especially rent is scary....I hear that 80% of migrants land in GTA so the number of newly landed job seekers out-numbers the "plenty job opportunities". I also hear the growing asian community have mastered the art of networking and have driven wage levels to the barest minimum because they use lower wages as a bait for employers...so someone in alberta or sask on the same job will probably earn more than you do even though they have a lower minimum wage.

Landed seniors please share your Toronto experiences.

Thank you

Hello People,

Just a random question, what happens when you get COPR but your medicals or passport expire before you land in Canada? Does the whole process start afresh or you just resubmit passport and new medicals?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Inception12: 7:11am On Jan 10, 2018
Ideally for post PPR, since you already have your PPR. it's just a matter of them confirming your wife's medicals and her PCC. That's why it usually takes a short time. Some guys even got their PPR and wife's back in less than a month.

Whereas, if you add your wife between AOR and pre PPR, it means they have to re-evaluate your application afresh in light of the changed marital status.

But it all depends on your Visa office. I suppose they are all just human, some wont care one bit while others may even ask for a new POF.

seunfoster:
@ Inception12, are you saying that it takes longer when you add your spouse pre PPR than post PPR? I will like you or anyone to respond because this pre PPR is plan and I would like to know if I should stick to it or not.

It happens a lot, in fact, according to that canada visa forum, it's better than adding the spouse before you receive PPR as it usually only adds 4 to 8 weeks to your application and since you've already received PPR, it makes it easier four your spouse to receive one as well. As long she passes her medicals and has her own PCC.

Though you have to return the passport and Copr and then you and your spouse are given new ones and you get a new visa stamped in your passport.

sleekysilk:

I've heard of adding spouse post ITA and post PPR, but not post COPR. You definitely have nothing to worry about. I want to believe all will be treated in the same manner so long as it is not post landing (you have not landed in Canada abi). So give CIC some more time and kindly feed us back when you hear from them so the rest of us can learn. Wish you and others God's speed

However, I'm yet to get any response from them. And I can't even tell what stage I'm in. Has anyone been in this situation and what was the timeline before they responded?

Is it also true for someone who wants to pursue a career in financial analysis.
maternal:

It's 100 percent true which I've been preaching on these boards. Unless you have to move to a different province because they specialize in the field you want to get into, move to a resource rich province like Sask and especially Alberta. While freeradical likes to preach God as it's the right thing to do, this is just the Alberta affect honestly. Cheap housing, opportunities, etc. Had he landed in a saturated place like Toronto, he may be second guessing his move to Canada. All about doing your research.
