No you didn’t use the tool correctly. You need to include the connecting flight at Paris or Amsterdam. So LOS - CDG - LHR or LOS - AMS - LCY etc. Then you include your travel documents.

This information is wrong please. Airfrance-KLM requires a Transit visa if you’re traveling to the UK on a Nigerian passport (along with some other countries). There are some exceptions like if you have a Schengen visa or US visa etc.

You only get transit visa if your connecting flight require you to change airport midway to your final destination (in which case you have to collect your luggage midway). This is called self-transfer. You will be notified while booking tha lo this flight is self-transfer. If you do not book a flight that require self-transfer, you don’t need a transit visa.

They will call you again to come with your docs and open a file. Sometimes they may ask you to buy the file outside. Depends on whether they have files or not.

Currently at Alausa for Capturing DIY.

They have started calling the names of people and have called us DIY people to submit the application form printout. I have done that.
Waiting for the next action….
Today looks like I am gonna wait and be patient enough.

Please if you have gone via the DIY process at ALAUSA please share the procedure so that I will know what I am waiting for next.

Strange. In my own case, they took only the first page of the checklist. I even asked about the other pages and the lady said they don’t need them.

I don’t know how reliable the tracking is but I know someone mentioned that they received their passport and the tracking was still on the second stage or so.

You book now and keep checking for an earlier date. Earlier dates open up occasionally.

You can open the file on the day of capturing. It is better to do it before that day though in case there are any issues with your documents.

It seems we are in the same boat with regards to “ the wait begins”. I did mine on the 12th of May at the same center as yours. I’m also renewing (5 years). I was hoping this might take two weeks at most 3 weeks. I was expecting 2 weeks consequent upon some testimonies here. I think renewals are fast as compared to first time applicants. Please, keep me posted should your application status change at any point. I will do the same here as well. I’m hoping this week Thursday, will be the day.

I have seen them accept both at Alausa but I can only speak of Alausa.

You will need the appointment slip especially if you’re doing DIY. The cafe people around the passport office may be able to help you get it.

The NIMC app is not reliable for children. You can check the NIN status on quickverify.ng or go to the nearest Immigration office before the capturing date to confirm.

Please kindly advise, The capturing date for my child of two is 31st and we did an NIN for her about 2weeks ago but when I tried checking via the NIN App, it was showing “not found in database”, I sent a mail to NiN customer care via the post of someone who stated it here but it’s the 3rd day and I check again but it’s still saying “not found in database” what could be the cause and hope it won’t affect her capturing on Tuesday?? Fingerprint should not be required for your children. There is a way they can skip it during capturing. I advice you to look for another center. If you’re in Lagos, you can go to their office at Alausa.

Please how many months bank statement do I need to submit for Standard Visitor Visa?

This has probably been asked before but… I am filling the form to apply for a Standard Visitor visa for an Academic Visit (to last for 1 month) and I want to know if it is a problem to answer ‘No’ to the question about whether I already have a place to stay during my visit? Will this affect my application or is it fine to explain that I will get a place later?

Verification is the process of checking and confirming the genuinity of your data. The first step is checking and confirming your NIN and all centers does this. Once you submit your application slip with SERVICOM, they first confirm your NIN and if it's validated with NIMC then you can continue with other process until you capture.

Each center has their operational procedures. Your appointment date matters in some centers and it doesn't in others. Collection date also varies with centers. Some centers give attention to DIY and some don't give a damn, "amori ibaku".

The most important thing is first to understand the procedures of the center you want to use. Secondly, prepare and go with all the necessary documents required and lastly prepare your mind that you may use the whole day at the center on your appointment day.

Please can you explain what you mean by number 5? It’s not stated on the website to go for verification before the appointment. What does this verification involve?

This is not a problem at all.

You will still do verification at the center whether you are DIY or use agent, and what you finally fill in your file is what they will enter into the system if it is a fresh application.
