Thanks so much Emiola

Actually after using Wes evaluation calculator on their portal it boosted my result from 2.6 to 2.91

But I don’t know if the 2.91 is okay and also
What about the schools who doesn’t ask for evaluated result
Will I still send them the Wes result too

I’ll be waiting for your response
Thanks

If you have done WES evaluation, it is acceptable by all Universities I have come across in the US.
You don't need to be applying to your school for an official transcript. I will also save you some cost and time to be applying through school.
You know ASUU is also a factor here in Nigeria.

There are some schools that can accept you.

Do your research and always check the program requirement before applying to any school.

I have a happy life in Nigeria, it shouldn't be a problem.
But please what are the documents that I need when applying?
I planned to apply in March.

Use the search bar on nairaland and type "List of documents for UK Visa."

I believe that will be much helpful to get unlimited ideas of documents to boost your application.

I will not lie, there's high chance I might not leave UK. My aunt want to help me settle in UK.

Your chances of getting approval are very slim with your virgin passport. But if you want to try your luck, you can.
It would be best if you had a solid reason why your aunt wants to sponsor your trip at this time. Sufficient proof to show you have a happy life in Nigeria.

What should I do I am attaching the refusal letter and my savings is different from what they wrote I am confused 🫤

You can reapply and address the concern of the ECO on your cover letter if you believe your SOA is clean and won't raise the concern of the ECO.
Ensure the cover letter is clear and concise.

Thank you Al for al your response really appreciate it. So I want to be clear. I don’t have NIN, drivers license and PVC. So I want to ask if it does not affect my visa application in any way. But my passport is intact? Thanks

It doesn't affect anything.

But try and get your NIN. You can't renew your passport without having a NIN, and you can't register a business with CAC.
As a Nigerian, you should find time to get yours. The newly issued passport carries the NIN.

Ensure the information on the NIN tallies with your passport if you wish to do so. Also, ensure the NIN is activated.

Yes, you can write to admissions. Once you have been waitlisted, you have to wait until someone declines his/her admission before consideration.

I've seen transcripts in the mock and date search WhatsApp group where the applicant was denied when they learned the sponsor came to the US on an F-1 or B1/B2 visa, abandoned their studies or overstayed, and obtained a Green Card through marriage or other means.
What makes you think that the current applicant would not follow the same route? The VOs would ask for a name and check their database. The way your sponsor migrated to the US matters. It can lead to denial.
The mock group I know doesn't charge for advice or interviews. The applicant should just join the session or meeting and stay in the queue to be attended to.

@ bolded, I guessed the CO told the applicant the reason for the denial.
VISA is 50-50.
You must prove to the CO that you have sufficient funds for your program and will return to your home country after your studies.
You have to show you are a bonafide student and some CO sometimes ask during the interview if the student took GRE.

I will pick the candidate with 5 years experience with no GRE.

Ugochukwu Madu got into 5 fully funded PhD programs in the US without GRE in fall 2022. Search for him on LinkedIn.

WTF is GRE. A 4 hours exam that has been bastardized with the home edition version. Don't be surprised most high scoring result don't even seat for it anymore, they outsource it.

GRE is expensive for the poor brilliant candidate in the 3rd world countries.

Most schools abroad are coming to terms with this new reality, thanks to Covid, now without GRE graduate are even performing better in school, e.g Florida State University has waived it till 2026.

Alot of schools in the US now waived GRE forever.

I can count 100 top schools that waived it already.

Don't waste your money

Don't be deceived! You have to check the department of these your mentors. Some departments don't receive a high volume of applicants like other departments like Data/Business Analytics. The high volume of applicants makes the competition to be fierce.

Also, I can bet you that these guys have a high GPA and graduated with a FIRST CLASS.

Check your CV and ask yourself why would a department want to sponsor your education. What value do you bring to the team? Do you have the useful skills to assist ongoing or future research in the department? They care about your writing samples to see if you are a good researcher. Have you been volunteering in an NGO? This shows you have the social skill to survive the complexity of the graduate school environment.

Be intentional with your application. Find a school not that popular that your application can stand out.

The sources is from the salary bro …. Many people have been refused visa due to opening balance, and despite they submitted employment letter, and bank statements that indicate salary credit by their employer.

Or they should be asking for 1yrs bank statement in order to justify the source of the opening balance lol ?

In event like this, how someone can prove the source of the opening balance ? when they only requested for 6month bank statements? No account period that doesn’t have opening balance.

Note that UKVI does not provide proper guidelines on bank statements. At least 6 months of bank SOA they advised you to submit for visa applications. If you think 1 year of SOA will guarantee your visa, go for it. Some employment letters I have seen don't have the year of employment and the monthly remuneration. You can also be intentional and submit your payslip for a 1-year window, provided it is consistent with the current salary entry into your account. If there are discrepancies, for instance, you were promoted, submit the promotion letter and also explain on the cover letter.

Why do they need your SOA?

From your SOA, they can deduce your sources of income, spending habits, saving goals, and financial commitments.

This determines the outcome of your visa because they judge you from your SOA. That's why some people have dropped the rule of thumb for future applicants to follow and examine their applications.

Rule of thumb (just a guide):

1. Available funds should be at least twice the UK trip; if not, add a sponsor to cover other expenses, delay the trip if not significant, or shorten the trip.
2. Savings (disposable income) should continually grow within the last 6 months; this should be realistic. If you plot a graph of your monthly savings within six months, it's unrealistic that you can continuously save 400k monthly as a family man who earns 500k monthly and uses 100k for expenses. There should be growth, and decline is welcome; explain it with probably a receipt of such transaction for the month of unforeseen expenses.

This doesn't mean that visas can't be denied even if all these boxes are ticked.

The ECOs pay close attention to the total cost of the trip during the proposed visit declared, monthly income, monthly expenses, and other financial commitments such as mortgage, dependents, etc. They want to see that you are a genuine traveler, you will travel within your means, and you will not exhaust all your savings. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY HERE!!!

Based on your ability to convince the ECO from the documents supplied during the application phase, they have the right to assume that
it's unrealistic for you to take this trip, or you borrowed the opening balance in your account to boost it.

Don't give the ECO room for assumptions; use your cover letter and provide receipts and proof to back up all claims.

When they say to build your account for 6 months as a salary earner, they mean you should be intentional with your spending and who you give access to deposit into your salary account.

DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated with UK immigration or embassies. Everything here is based on a careful analysis of previous refusals.

I strongly disagreed with you my senior Mr money, are you telling me now that those who have been working for 3 or more years should be having total amount of their monthly salary for 1yrs in their account or close to 6month salary?

All these Opening balance drama just started maybe last year and is only when Eco wanted to stylishly refusal someone’s application.

I knew many people that gotten their visa with opening balance of 500k as first timer, and also people that having up to 2m to 3m + as opening balance are refused visa even Eco do queried them the sources of their opening balance

Let me say is within the 6month bank statements they required for visa is what Eco normally use to judge the outcome of the visa, I can boldly said most of us that declared a particular amount as our monthly expenses are not what we are spending before planning to apply for a visa?

Why is it that when we are ready to apply for a visa that we complied with our monthly expenses.

I realize that when the Eco notices any discrepancy in bank acct they came up with opening balance, even they do complained about closing balance at time.

Note: No body knows Eco discretion we are just trying on our own perspectives

May God help us

Let's help ourselves.
The ECO doesn't scrutinize other countries' applicants as they do Nigerians.
You should understand they learn from the history of past applicants.

The rules are clear: you need to show where your money comes from and provide information covering at least six months. So if, for example, you sold some shares, land, major transfer, and put the money into your account this month, you could show the bank account for this month but would also need to prove that you had owned the shares for the last six months, landed property. Also, when we transfer with our mobile app, we hardly disclose the description of the transaction.

The bottom line is: they know that people can borrow money to show when applying for a visa. They believe it would be difficult to hold on to borrowed money for more than six months. They want to see not a large sum of money sitting in your bank account but evidence of a reasonable regular income except you are sponsored. But don't just start declaring things that you cannot prove.

If you earn 1m, you can afford to spend 300k + monthly. Let's stop copying others' applications here.

You should be warier of plagiarism and make your application fit your family size, responsibilities, job, and the company's nature.

Remember, the visa process is 50-50, and no one can guarantee the outcome of your visa.

Get sufficient evidence that you have the funds for your trip, after which something must compel you to return to your home country.

Bro, you're right. My profile is very very weak. I need to up my game now. I will try to gather all the other parts of my application, which are GRE, Even if is one publication, stronger SOP, if I have the funds I evaluate my transcript, then apply strategic; strategic I mean is, applying to schools in a region not to known, and also making sure I run away from those hat waive Application fee.

Now you know what you are missing.
In some schools in Nigeria, you can't defend MSc without having a publication.
Be intentional and get your documents available before your next application.

And it’s Travel beta o. I told her o. Cause the monies were going to my other acc. I said write a cover letter explaining. She didn’t agree.

@ bolded did you submit SOA for this second account?
Your situation is a bit confusing because, from what you are saying, you have multiple accounts and were withdrawing or sending money across to your other accounts.
Try and use the description column next time on your bank app to explain the purpose of the transaction.
Also, you have been advised to be on the bench to build your account. Stick to your story if you declared one SOA in your last application.
Except you want to be writing a cover letter to blame an agent, which doesn't make sense, assuming you submitted one account and it wasn't your first application.

Hello everyone. If someone declares 150k as average monthly expenses. But the debits on salary account shows significantly more. I got a second refusal cause the ECO said while there are deposits made in this account that appear as salary payments, the funds withdrawn and the balances in the account are just as much as the they were prior to the salary deposit before i receive the next payment so they are not satisfied that these funds are reflective of my income or financial circumstances and that these funds are genuinely available to me for my exclusive use. The only credit was my salary. tho i had an opening balance of 6m and closing was about 6800000m. Pls what do i do next. i cried last night cause this time i used an agent.

Stop declaring and be truthful.
It wasn't written anywhere the money you should spend as monthly expenses.
Your financial statement was used against you because it doesn't add up to what you declared.
Why are you crying when you have a good sum of money in your account? Is the trip that significant?!

My question is can i attach my affidavit during visa application because i plan on ignoring the offer and wait for other schools as i cannot get IELTS ATM.

What's their reason for not accepting the affidavit? Do you have DoB certificate? What's the DoB in your passport and Degree result?
What's the content of the affidavit? I would love to see a copy if you don't mind.
If applying for the fall session, you can approach WAEC to correct this mistake and reissue a new certificate.

Please I’ll appreciate any help I can get;

We want to go on a family vacation in July-August but these are my challenges;

1) I earn somewhere around 6m annually after tax but I do not keep funds in my salary account. I transfer to my PiggyVest app, save a portion and fund my account on need be basis. I have approximately 5m in PiggyVest locked savings and a domiciliary account with about $1,100;
2) My husband is employed but his salary is not up to a 100k and they owe him sometimes for months so the inflow is not regular. He has two side businesses; one registered and the other is more of consulting. He also has land;
3) I’ve been to the Uk before (2014) for study and didn’t violate any immigration laws, we travelled as a family last year to Kenya for holidays. I’ve also been to Dubai a couple of times. The Kenya trip was my husband’s first international trip.

4) we both have family in the UK

We have one infant, less than 2years old

So my question is;

1) given my challenges, what are the chances of us getting an approval? If it’s possible how do we structure our application ?
3) Does a lump some transfer from me to me raise red flags?
2) can we do the application ourselves or do we just use an agent

You both have a good travel history and don't complicate things for yourself by making a lump sum deposit. But given the fact that you have been saving for years, such a transaction should be in your statement of account.
Can piggyvest provide SOA for you?
You have to ensure his business is active on CAC by doing a search (search.cac.gov.ng).
That should also be his tie to Nigeria if he has been doing transactions with the business and have a cooperate account.

Your cover letter should explain this in detail and attach enough evidence to back this union.
If the tenancy agreement carries both your names, attach such legal documents that show both your names and the kids' birth certificates will also come in handy here.
