Ndu_chuks, I love your fear-based zeal. Please do come over and begin the implementation of your nice ideas especially as regards the almajiris. You know talk is cheap. Please accept our offer to you as NL AMBASSADOR EMERITUS ON BH AFFAIRS. Please, are you married? If yes, please make adequate arrangements for your family. |
@Zubby77 - You were a millionaire at 23. Tell us how you made it. Also tell us how your life has been. The millionaire craze has made a mess of everything in Nigeria. But come to think of it, with all the millionaires been made by the different business houses in Nigeria, why is there still so much suffering in Nigeria? Why is nothing working? Why are we still lamenting the problems of corruption, power and all the ills bedeviling the country called Nigeria? What are the millions for? My dear young people, you can be stinking rich and very wealthy; it doesn't have to be counted in Naira, dollar or any other currency for that matter. More so, if becoming a millionaire is a worthy goal to pursue in life why are our millionaires not satisfied? Why do they still go ahead to steal, defraud, cheat and do all kinds of things to become billionaires, trillionaires and still be dissatisfied? Why do those so-called millionaires commit suicide or die mysterious and miserable deaths? The business houses are purely in business. For every million they give out, how many do they keep for themselves? Remember that becoming a millionaire without sense, makes nonsense of both you and your million. It's not about counting wads or coins or whatever. Use your God given mind. What are you created for? You can damn the consequences, just go ahead and fuel and feed your greed, covetousness and all that make the heart of men lean and make them die with regrets. |
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. If the Son therefore shall set you free, you shall be free indeed. Come unto me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, I WILL GIVE YOU REST. |
Can we spare Nigerians all this cock and bull story of faults and faultiness. The Nigerian Police, with or without the force, should look inside and tell us the truth. The Police HQ suicide-bombing didn't just happen. Someone "who knows" leaked out the IG's itinerary for the day. A high profile suspect escapes from under the nose of very competent and professional police officers. This chopper was carrying a DIG, his aide, a pilot and an engineer. They were all foolhardy to have not cared about a "faulty" machine and got airborne . Does SABOTAGE exist in the Nigerian dictionary? Let's not becloud the real issue with our faulty smokescreen just because the maintenance culture of some Nigerians are faulty. |
Is it possible that you started late? If you had indulged him long enough, certain behaviors have been reinforced and fixed and would take tact and time to reorient him. Boys will always be boys and so young parents must realize that and begin early to give direction. If you spend time singing "I will beat you, O" the child knows you wont do it so he is free to continue. Also if when you want to smack him he doesn't feel the pain, it's as good as given him more because they taste like chocolate to him, so how do you expect him to change. smacking should not be too frequent but when it comes let him be left in wonder"is it really my mum that did this?" when he tests his mettle on others outside and you "support" him by whatever means, never expect anything better. The list can go on and on. But actually, you are not specific in the kind of things that are "annoying" you, the environment or circumstances in which he is fond of his exhibitionism. Maybe, a personal call on a counselor might be helpful, but be sure it's one that identifies with your cultural atmosphere. |
Who said murderers have the right to give conditions? Nigeria is turning into a very funny country. They have killed, maimed, rendered many homeless and kept many in fear and yet have the guts to give conditions. The condition actually should be to arrest such as they name for "they trust them". Well, Nigeria has long time stopped being a secular state but an Islamic one where only Muslim interests must be protected. You don't have to agree. |
Insults, floggings and whatever is for the self-righteous. The stones been thrown show blindness to your sorry situation. Dear Sis. OP, hang in where you are and make efforts to forget the past. Else you are opting for a living hell: you will not enjoy your husband and you will not have your ex. |
Very interesting post and responses. It all has to do with the state of a man's heart and our definitions. why does anybody masturbate, have fantasies etc? Jesus said if a man looks to lust after a woman it is as good as done. So, who is the judge of that. So, cheating is not all about sleeping with, impregnating, or whatever we call cheating. It has to do with the HEART. In the same manner, many of the people we pass for honorable, loyal, trustworthy, and integral may actually be whitewashed sepulchers. |
City People or Rural hawks, it is surprising the likes of Tunde Bakare |
Some people are very allergic to the truth and it is sad. When "the Satanic Verses" controversy hit the world, was it a Nigerian or a Nigerian publication? Why were non-Muslims attacked in various northern states? The many times that non-Muslims were murdered in Nigeria over flimsy excuses of threat to Islam in some foreign countries, were they occasioned by those Nigerians that were attacked and the churches that were burnt? Even the recent carnage in those northern states of innocent Nigerians, was it because those non-Muslims and their churches, homes and businesses responsible for anyone losing elections? Especially considering the magnitude of security apparatus deployed to forestall breakdown of law and order before, during and after the elections? The police station that was attacked and burnt down to kill innocent Corpers was it not built with tax-payers money? The time has come for the madness in the north to be acknowledged and anyone who is able to make a post on NL who thinks it was wrong for those poor folks to take precautions should actually be ashamed. |
The postings are both interesting and funny. It is evident that too many people are watching too much television. Law or no law, why did women in the past take on their husbands name? No intelligent posts has yet been made on the historical antecedents. What about the pride that went with being the exclusive reserve of both the family and man that picked you out of too many others out there to be their/his cherished part. It is evident that the immoralities of Hollywood and Nollywood are really rubbing off on our society, yet we want the dividends of traditional society. When the divorce rate exceeds that of our cherished Hollywood and Nollywood worlds hope we won't be asking where we went wrong. |
So much counsel has been given. A word is enough for the wise. Use your tongue to count your teeth else you might have to use your teeth to count your tongue. Make a wise choice. As for your fiance, he will do it again and again. |
Just scrapped the damned thing called NYSC. It serves no longer any useful purposes other than opening avenues for squandering national resources. |
They said we are a terrorist nation. We said we are not. Yet we have not done any thing about the senseless killings of innocent Nigerians because of religion. What fuels terrorism? We don't want to call a spade a spade. When it happens in the NASS, we will wake up but we still will not prosecute anybody for fear of rocking the boat. What happened to all the arrested people in the wake of the Jos crisis who were taken to Abuja? We keep mouthing "no matter how highly placed". There are sponsors, don't we know them? Why can"t we call them to question? Why is Buhari still walking the streets after all the killings in the north because he lost the election, while we took extra pains to protect the northerners in the south? The Federal Government should do something now before Aso Rock begins to rock because it is not a religious bigot occupying the local. |
Don't lose sleep. It is not just because you are abroad, rather your environment is bringing a fundamental problem to the fore. You have a responsibility to be honest with yourself and to desire which direction your life should go rather than seeking to please everybody, something that God who made heaven and earth has not succeeded in doing. I said it is not just about being abroad, rather it is because you have a source of income and some people think they can and should take advantage of your goodness. Look at the following picture: " I am a christian minister and make effort to look out for the poor and hungry to feed, educate those who cannot otherwise. I have an aged mother of whom I have cared for since Our father died. Because I provide sufficiently for my mother, my brothers ages 24, 34 and 45 refuse to work. Even when they do, they cannot keep track of their income nor the expenditure, because whatever happens, mama will cook for them and their friends. Once mama was sick and could not go to the market and cooked rice that she had at home, the brothers refused the food because it was not "swallow". My response: I cut off sending money seeing that all my previous talk was not getting us anywhere. I became everybody's enemy, including my married sister who is earning a salary as a teacher and the husband a technician wants me to foot the fees for her part-time studies. I have two children in the higher institution, a minister wife with many travels, and other bills to pay. I had to ask myself who do I want to please? Men or God? Is it right to let my brothers loaf? At the end of the day I told my brothers mama is their responsibility, yet each time I have opportunity to be present I give mama such things as are necessary for her upkeep while making sure she is adequately housed and maintained health-wise". |
I am surprised he is looking for where to go when, in fact, he should be behind bars in the strongest of Nigeria's prisons. GEJ and co, enough of talk ("no matter how highly placed"), we will like to see real action. |
Bakare has nothing to say. He is only waiting for the dust to settle while he prepares what to use to confuse his bigot friends like akings100 and Juliusczar and all others who think it is right to slaughter innocent citizens because someone lost elections who portends to be fighting corruption. Would your comments be the same if those slain folks were your mothers, fathers, brothers sisters, wives or husbands or someone you hold very dear? Human life is sacred and more important than politics. |
kudos to gej. move up a bit and do a thorough clean up job so that this term in office will effectively put nigeria back on the map of people existing in the 21st century as against the barbaric situation we are living through right now. the ig of police also should go. |
Dear GEJ, this is not time for rhetoric and political ranting. Someone is commander in chief of the Nigerian Armed forces. Hafiz Ringim the IG of Police told us it is political and not religious. But has not shown us one political office that was burnt or a politician that was attacked. Innocent Nigerians are being slaughtered and the Police the Army and all the other Security apparatus stand by and watch and after tell us they are misinformed miscreants. All the looted and burnt homesteads and businesses belong to Nigerians. I don't think GEJ should prove he is clueless as some believe. Somebody should be held responsible. |
The likes of OMO TIER1 remain bigots of the worst kind that one wonders if such have brains at all. He thinks it is right that because Bakare spoke whatever he calls the truth is enough reason to kill and maim people. The blood of the innocent shed all across this nation continues to cry out against the perpetrators including their accomplices like OMO TIER1. |
Bakare must be happy and satisfied to see the churches burning. He can see that he has never been in sympathy with the things of God hitherto. His botched prophecies and his unequal yoke shows clearly where he has always belonged. When shall we call a spade a spade? Where are the authorities in Nigeria - the police and their friends. I hope they are on top of the situation watching the madness in Kano and other places. |
When ignorance is bliss who wants to know. The first mistake you made is spying on your wife's phone. So you get what you asked for. Inasmuch as cheating is not the way forward, spouses grapple with other nerve-racking vices or idiosyncrasies. Have you ever considered a woman's pride and vanities? The list is unending. When you send your wife out to work, you forgot she has to compete with other men and she will need to prove she is on top of her acts and that means anything could happen. You could save yourself further embarrassment and pain by considering forgiveness and hope for a change of heart in your partner. No-one is perfect and your next possible mate could be worse in more ways than you have before you right now. I hope this is a hypothesis: just wanting to sample opinions just in case. But if you are really telling us the truth, you are making a second mistake: washing your dirty pants in front of your mom, mother-in-law and now all of us. the truth is we can't help you anyway! There are more men suffering worse nightmares and yet self preservation and dignity make them keep mum. No-one else has any answers for you. Just do your thing. |
MR REAL TRUTH your ideas are really modern but watch it. The internet does not have all the answers but as you can agree with me, it has complicated more lives than can be cataloged here. It is quite exciting chatting, surfing and dating and all the other stuff we do online. But, more hearts have been broken online and many are having fun taking advantage of others more effectively online. Dating is real but I think it should be done with the eyes wide open. Beware of all the scam and fraud going on. |
I know he still loves me and has realized the horrible things he has done. Is there a chance for him to change? Should i go back to him? I know most of you will tell me to leave him but it's not that easy, the commitment and the sacrifice i have made in this relationship would not make that so easy for me. And above all, i love him so much! Am perplexed. You seem to want to live in delusion. What is your definition of love? How do you measure it? The commitment and sacrifice you have made should actually instruct you to waste no further of yourself before it is too late. If arguments bring such reactions when you are not married, you need to ask married people how often they argue and how violent it can get atimes. In all, I don't envy you nor admire the behavior of the brute you call boyfriend. |
