Good day guys.

Few days back, i took the advice of being online around 11:59pm till 12am to book a student visa appointment. Luckily, around 12:01, i saw a date for the 1st of February. I quickly tried to fill in my detail and book it. Going to the next page, i found it blank. I then refreshed and was told something went wrong to my booking that maybe my browser had been on too long. I went back to the captcha page and after filling it in, i was told all the appointments had been booked. Dissapointed, i left.

Few minutes later, i got an email from the embassy in German confirming my booking and appointment on the 1st of February and asking me to print out the email when coming that day. I am yet to receive any English version.

My question now is, do i actually have that appointment now since they sent me that mail. I am confused.

From experience.. You already got the date and booked BUT for 100% clearity, you can mail the embassy and confirm your date again

Hey guys, I wanna know. My CGPA is 3.85 from a 5point scale, is it strong enough in the German scale?

Or do you guys think its low. I've been following previous threads and noticed most people here that gained admission had above 4.0 cgpa.
I'm curious undecided

You are good to go... Nice GPA. No shaking

WARNING: Long read.

Finally, I have my passport stamped with visa!

Interview date: August 16th

Funded BA: August 27th

AM arrival: September 13th

Passport & Insurance submission: September 14th

Passport arrival:September 19th

Thanks to God Almighty who made everything possible. Also, thanks to the wonderful people on here. Actually the journey started September last year after deciding that I would further my studies at Germany. My first call was to register with Goethe Institut Lagos. Secondly, I followed the German student visa thread on Nairaland. While reading through, I saw that I was on the right path. Advices like "knowing the language is the meal ticket here, use google search to get any answer you want, choose your course wisely..." were so helpful. I wanted a bachelor course that has a combination of management and engineering even though I have a CGPA more than enough for a masters degree. After my search on DAAD, I settled to apply to schools that accepts English proficiency letter, such as:
Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) - B.Eng Business & Engineering.

Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) - B.Eng Engineering & Management (NC).

Hochschule Trier, Umwelt-Birkenfeld - B.Eng Sustainable Business & Technology.

Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) - B.Eng Industrial Engineering/Maintenance and Operation.

I got admission letters from every one of them and settled for FHWS considering important factors.
Here I am today with a visa, German B1 certificate (thanks to my teachers such as Frau Frances smiley, Frau Solomon smiley, Herr Musbaudeen cool, Herr Tunji cool, among others), and a course of my choice (not JAMB choice lol).

Advice for newbies: All you need is on this thread. Go back to as far as 2016 thread. Read and read! You could end up becoming an agent. As for those going for another BSc, prepare for test questions in order to ease pressure that may arise during interview. You can ask for previous transcripts on the test questions. They are helpful. Also, dont just see this opportunity as an escape route. You can settle for that dream course you have always wanted. For those with only WAEC/NECO (which is not equivalent to German Abitur), read through what it takes to make it in Studienkolleg. Be truthful to yourself. If you don't have the capabilities to make the B1 Zertifikat and study in German at Studienkolleg, simply go get registered at NOUN to complete a 100 Level course or get admitted to any other university or get an A Level certificate (Note: check the school's requirements), then apply to German universities. German A1 and A2 are fun, not until you get to B1. Topics like Adjektiv Deklination, Verben mit Präpositionen, and B1 grammars are not child's play. Simply read Jigba's diary on here on Nairaland to learn more.

Bis später!

Congrats...

Hallo, Good to know that they acknowledged your request for deferment.

I suggest you apply for a date in January if possible (which means you might wanna request for a date in November/December as soon as the embassy starts given date for summer).Having your Interview in January will as well give you ample time to fund your account and prepare very well before travel date. Requesting earlier can somehow give you favourable date.

Wurzburg, though a small city compare to Munich but quite okay for a start, quite a few job opportunities for student Job. Might not be that lively compare to Lagos, Nigeria but you will enjoy your stay to great extent

@Fluxyn and @UbiPetrus....

Sometimes it is good to disagree to agree. Atleast, it is all based on achieving a purpose not only for present generation but also for the next to come.

I guess it's all settled by now.

To butress @Fluxyn's view, I used online as well but (affidavit was done actually to support it because I couldn't get hold of mine again) and this was last year.

To butress @UbiPetrus view, Original certificate saves you from affidavit or whatever second thought you might have ( this case you have nothing to worry about may be it will be accepted or not)

Less I forget, Congrats to those that had already received there AM and those waiting will surely receive by Jah's grace... Those awaiting interview will surely be successful and those that are waiting for interview date will miraculously get one.. Safe trip to those already preparing to leave Buhari's country.......

Greetings from....

Wish it can be done although I seriously doubt it. Checked from past NL threads. My appointment is 26th Sept. Enrollment deadline is 23rd October. Don't know my chances.

Quite correct.
You might wanna do the same by requesting for extension from your department after your interview. But hopefully you might get your docs sooner than you think. It is quite good to seek for extension from the department..... My opinion.

Bosses and gurus in the house. Please can One mail the embassy requesting an earlier date due to enrollment deadline.

Write your school/department for extension of enrollment deadline. It should be possible. The embassy might be quite uneasy. Best bet is the department.. Well, you might wanna give it a shot by writing the embassy (that is if you are lucky).

But why are you so fast to jump into conclusion. The truth is that i had only 3 months working experience when i applied and i got the admission which was in 2016. So i have been here since 2016 october. My wife just finished nysc in november with no working experience and she got admission.

Don't think i am old because of my marital status and definitely i must have working experience. I am not even up to 30 years. I finished nysc 2014 and tried for Canada in 2015 but was denied visa and that was why i shifted focus to Germany. I just got married December 30.

I understand if you have an agency and you're looking for clients but that is not a ground to mislead others. It would have been better to just state your observations without reaching false conclusions that it is impossible. Also, have you heard about non-restricted admission? My wife did not even do IELTS or TOEFL, she just used a letter of proficiency in English from her university in Nigeria

I think I could still remember vividly. Being a long time, I already sent you a pm. Your German number is needed, please do well to forward it via e-mail. You once helped me at the beginning with documents that year while I intend going for the same course and the same school as you did, lost your contact before leaving Nigeria.
