Today, I want to turn your attention to the operations of prayer, channeling the discourse towards praying for our dear nation Nigeria. Let me start by encouraging you that prayer still works. Yes, PRAYER WORKS. I know some of you are fed up with all of these "prayer things" for different reasons. But the truth remains that God still answers prayers, and He can do things beyond our own human actions and strategies.

I know we pray. But one of the reasons it appears as if our prayers are ineffective is because we are not praying the right type of prayers. Yes, there are different types of prayer, and for a truth, the kind of prayer we must focus on right now in Nigeria is "Prayer of Mercy".

Nigeria has dipped herself vehemently in unrighteousness and dark corruption. Hence, we, as a nation, must take a posture of humility and plead for mercy from the LORD.

Fortunately, the Bible says: "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14 NKJV

So, you see, as we engage the mercies of God, we must see to it that we are repentant indeed. We must forsake our sins and turn back to God. It means, as a nation, we must decide to do away with terrible things like kidnapping, murders, corruption, tribalism, etc. As an individual, you too must do away with your personal sins - pride, sexual immorality, malice, alcoholism, telling lies, stealing, etc.

Once we are repentant, we will easily attract God's mercies sufficient to transform our nation.

So, take time to pray for God's mercy over our land today. And if you need encouragements, then here are three great reasons you need pray for Nigeria today:

1. God has great plans for this country. You can partner with God to make His perfect Will a reality in Nigeria.
2. God has a reason for making you a Nigerian. Nigeria is yours and your earthly home. You are a major stakeholder.
3. The country needs as much prayers as she can get right now. The truth is, there is a limitation to what humans can do to transform this country. We really need God's help.

So I came across a post by a false teacher with a false online church, sponsored from the kingdom of hell to spread doctrines of demons and lead many astray.

The false teacher, twisting Holy Scriptures to suit his demonic agenda, said "the moment you are engaged, my advise is; sample the goods, taste the milk before you buy the cow. There is no scripture that says it is sinful for an engaged couple to have intercourse."

This is a lie! Please, ignore this false teacher and all his lies.

God created everything, and sex is not an exception. As the Manufacturer, only He can give guidelines on how these things can be engaged. And the Will of God is that all forms of sexual pleasures should be shared only between a married husband and his female wife inside the safe confines of their marriage institution, with no other party involved.

Marriage is from God. It is a sacred institution that is above sexual pleasures. When it comes to marriage, the Will of God is that when a man (not a boy) has attained a certain stature where marriage can be embraced, (after such a man has discovered his identity and purpose on earth), He (God) should be approached to provide a woman (not a girl) who will become his wife. After God has provided the woman, prior to marriage, the couple embark on what we call courtship, where they learn to know more about themselves (in an attempt to make necessary adjustments before they tie the knot), and must not defile the marriage bed during the courting period (that is, must not indulge in premarital sex).

"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge." Hebrews 13:4

"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." I Corinthians 6:18‭-‬20

The Lord already warned that in the last days, false teachers shall arise to lead people astray.

"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." I Timothy 4:1 NKJV

Give yourself to the Lord and don't allow anyone lead you into hell. If you are yet to establish a good relationship with the Lord, please do so right now by embracing Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Truthfully, romantic relationship with the opposite gender has placed many young folks into terrible issues that has left terrible indelible scars on a lot of them; while some have been unfortunately sent directly or indirectly to their early graves by these sweet-turned-sour affairs.

The main reason young people will keep having unpleasant experiences from boyfriend and girlfriend romantic relationships is because it was never in the original Will and Plan of God - the Wise Creator of everything, in the first place.

The Will of God is that when a man (not a boy) has attained a certain stature where marriage can be embraced, (after such a man has discovered his identity and purpose on earth), He (God) should be approached to provide a woman (not a girl) who will become his wife. After God has provided the woman, prior to marriage, the couple embark on what we call courtship, where they learn to know more about themselves (in an attempt to make necessary adjustments before they tie the knot), and must not defile the marriage bed during the courting period (that is, must not indulge in premarital sex).

Anything contrary to this perfect Will of God always bring heartaches, headaches and 'soul-aches'.

So, what should happen when your boyfriend/girlfriend is disturbing you for sex? Number one, realise the relationship is built on a wrong foundation and retrace your steps immediately by dissolving such relationship and breaking every connection and ties (physical, emotional, spiritual, etc).

Then, go back to the root by making peace with God and finding your identity in Him. You must make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior before anything else. If you have not discovered your true identity and purpose (which can only be known through Faith in Jesus Christ), you shouldn't complicate your life with a romantic relationship

So, if you are yet to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, or you are backsliden already, simply ask Him for forgiveness of sins, and say "Lord, have mercy on me".

This will get your eyes opened, and you will realize that you are destined to be a Royal Priesthood: a king and a priest meant to rule the earth through power gotten via an eternal relationship with God

That is, you are meant to have dominion over everything - dominion and control over your sexual urges, over fornication, over poverty, over sin, etc. You won't do what true Royals won't do - you won't defile yourself with illegal and illicit actions, for reputation sake. Since it is illegal and illicit as a child of God to have sex before marriage, you should flee anyone trying to lure you into such.

Remember, many guys and ladies out there luring others into sexual immorality, are not ordinary humans. They are terrible witches and wizards, evil people from the marine kingdom, possessed with demonic spirits and have diabolical powers. They are beautiful and handsome in appearance, and they have an innocent outlook - so they could easily lure preys into the trap of everlasting anguish and despair. Your boyfriend or girlfriend is likely one of them! Run! Save your life and destiny!

Whether it is masturbation, pornography, premarital sex, lesbianism and homosexuality, these things are sinful and can destroy you. Repent, ask God for mercy, and never return to them again. If you are greatly addicted, then talk to a mature spiritual person around you, and get the freedom Jesus already procured for you. Jesus still loves you.

6. Dear Young People,

I know you still have the youthful strengths to jump around the place. But in years to come, your youthful strengths and desires will all be gone. Those days, when you will look back at how you spent the days of your youth, you are going to be either happy or filled with regrets. Are you still living a lifestyle you will grow up to regret in years to come? You can still make amendments starting today! Ask Jesus to help you, and He will do a perfect work in your life! Trust Him!

7. Dear Young People,

Hope you know Jesus is coming back again? Are you aware that the rapture can take place before the end of this month, and that when it happened, that's all? Wisdom demands then that we live each day with eternity in view. By so doing, you are empowered to live upright and holy in the sight of God. Remember, only the righteous in Christ will be rapturable. This world is temporal.

Are you still pushing God away from you with your lifestyle? God loves you and He has proven this long before you were born - He came in the flesh and was humiliated and died for you to have eternal life. But God is Holy, and He can't behold iniquities. If you are still indulging in sinful stuff, you are pushing Him away from you. But if you will repent and forsake them, He will cleanse you and make you a new creature worthy of walking with Him in spirit and in truth. Today is the day of salvation! Make a decision for Jesus!

9. Dear Young People,

You are a child of God. It doesn't matter what lie the devil is singing into your ears right now, YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD! But have you been displeasing Daddy via your wrong lifestyle? Simply ask Daddy for forgiveness, and decide to not indulge in anything sinful again. Daddy can't wait to carry you in His arms again, as His loving baby. Jesus still loves you.

10. Dear Young People,

Your destiny as a young person is to have an intimate relationship with God that is eternal in nature, through Jesus Christ. On the strength of this relationship with the LORD, you will be empowered with the Holy Ghost, and you will have dominion to live above the devil, sin, self, and death.

Sexual immorality has been causing a lot of damages in the lives of so many people (particularly young people). It is really heartbreaking watching young folks suffering and living a damaged and wretched lifestyle and giving room to the devil to get them ruined.

Sexual immorality (particularly premarital sex, porn and masturbation) has turned many young and brilliant people into a nuisance without purpose and focus in life again. Many are now public dogs, STDs carriers, drugs and alcohol addicts, single parents, and the evil devil has brought all form of ugliness into their lives.

The truth is, our society will continue to be an unpleasant one if we keep going contrary to the will of God and embracing immorality. Immorality (like other types of sin) empowers the kingdom of darkness to wreck havoc in our society. So, if people failed to go back to God in repentance, then you can expect more headaches in the society

The Will of God for sex is that all forms of sexual pleasures should be shared only between a married husband and his female wife inside the safe confines of their marriage institution, with no other party involved.

Anyone that will obey God's instructions can be sure of living a lifestyle that is devoid of the fatal pangs and pains associated with sexual immorality.

If you will obey God's loving commandments as regards the enjoyment of sexual pleasures (which is actually for your own safety and good), then you must stop these sexual acts and not carry them with you to this new year:

1. Premarital Sex: Fornication is having sex when you are not married. Sex is actually meant for married couples (a male and a female) alone. Even if fornication is the norms out there, don't follow the crowd. Be unique and pure. Yes, it is possible to tame your sexual urges. Don't indulge in premarital sex, and you won't have to experience the negativities attached to it (unwanted pregnancy, STDs, and so on). You can also see more tips on sundayakanni.com

2. Extramarital Sex: Adultery is simply about having sex with someone other than your own spouse. As a married person, ensure you are contented with your husband or wife, and don't have an extramarital affair. The repercussions of adultery are usually deadly. Believe me, the few-minute pleasure derived from illicit sex is not worth the coming pain.

3. Same-gender Sexual Relations: This is sexual relations between members of same gender, like lesbianism (which is between females) and gayism (which is between males). Such things are dirty and an abomination that should be hated. If you are doing this, call upon the Name of the LORD Jesus for deliverance, and He will surely save you.

4. Pornography: God made sex to be an honorable act. It should be a private thing between a husband and his female wife. It is sinful to derive sexual pleasure from seeing the unclothedness of others. It is also sinful to video your sexual encounters and share them with others. Repent this year hence you will regret it!

5. Masturbation: You must not play with your sexual organs for sexual pleasures. You are going against God; and masturbation will only damage your body, soul and spirit.

6. Other Immoral Sexual Acts like smooching someone not your married spouse, sextings and the rest of them

Repent from immoral sexual activities and don't go with them into 2023. Live your life honouring God in holiness and purity. You are meant to have an eternal communion with God your Creator through Jesus Christ, as this is what will empower you to have dominion over creation. This is your destiny. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and walk with Him in spirit and in truth.

Take the grace to live your life for God, in JESUS NAME.

As God's children, we must build our lives around God's Word, for therein is our victory at all times. As you journey in 2023, please, always remember these things:

1. That God Loves Humankind Vehemently

You should be aware already that God so loved the world, and love made Him gave us His only begotten Son Jesus to die for our sins. Nevertheless, God's Love in Christ Jesus is much deeper than we think we know. You know, God, despite being Omnipotent and can do without us, is still chasing us about, trying to bring us to Himself so we can become sons and daughters of His, and live a blessed life.

Jesus died for us when we don't deserve it. And while many people in the world today are running away from having an intimate relationship with Him, His Love keeps chasing them so they won't be destroyed. Indeed, for a lifetime, we will have to keep learning and exploring the mystery of the Love of Christ.

2. We Are All Meant To Have Dominion As Kings And Priests

Humans were created by the Creator to have dominion over creation. Unfortunately, we lost this when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden. But Jesus Christ came to restore the Authority we lost.

We are meant to have dominion and exercise rulership. Hence, it is an abberation to be a slave to sin, sickness, poverty, satan, hell fire, and other negative things. The way to have true dominion is to ensure an intimate righteous relationship with God, which is what empowers us to rule as kings and priests. "And (Jesus Christ) have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth" Revelation 5:10.

This is your destiny - but it can only be a reality in Christ Jesus. Don't ever forget this in 2023.


3. Biblical Principles Should Be Given Greater Priority Above All Other Opinions

If we can live our lives in complete obedience to what God is saying and have said in His word the Bible, our individual lives and collective societies will experience true peace and prosperity.

In 2023 and beyond, make the decision to always meditate on the words of the Bible and live your life in accordance to biblical principles.

4. Jesus Is More Than Sufficient

If you don't know anybody, but you know Jesus, it is more than enough. You don't need to have connections before you excel - once you know Jesus Christ, you won't be small. Hence, it is wisdom to have a relationship with Jesus Christ


5. The Holy Spirit Is A Real Helper

The Holy Spirit enjoys helping us. Give Him a chance to help you.

God bless the new year for your sake as you cultivate an intimate relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. Please, walk with God and serve Him in spirit and in truth this year. God bless you

Merry Christmas folks.. Jesus is the reason for the season. And He (Jesus) loves you greatly. Amen

Christmas is not simply all about santa and trees. It's all about celebrating the birth of our LORD JESUS CHRIST - the Saviour and Redeemer of mankind. It's usually a season of laughter and joy, shared with family and friends and loved ones.

Nevertheless, there are certain persons we must be eternally grateful to for the Gift called Christmas, for without them, we won't enjoy the joy of Christmas every year.

These are the Heroes Of Christmas.

1. GOD the Father:

John 3:16 gives a perfect description of the essence of Christmas: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life"

It's a tough decision to give one's beloved son as a sacrifice for undeserving folks. So, we are eternally grateful to YAHWEH for giving us Jesus.

2. Jesus Christ

Jesus is the reason for the season. Christmas is all about Jesus, and not to do stuff contrary to His Will - all in the name of celebration. Amazingly, Jesus wasn't forced to come down here to offer His life as a sacrifice to reunite mankind back to God.

As a human, how would you feel if you were asked to become an ant and start living with ants? This is what it's like for Jesus (the Immortal KING of Eternity) to come down here to live with humans. But guess what? Jesus did this willingly, because He loves you and I dearly

3. The HOLY SPIRIT

Yeah, the Holy Spirit also played a role as far as the existence of Christmas is concerned (the unity of the Trinity is so amazing)

Don't forget that when the Angel Gabriel was discussing with Mary, he told her "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:35). So, the Holy Spirit is also one of the Heroes Of Christmas.

4. Mary the Earthly Mother of Jesus

Of course, the womb that conveyed Jesus from the supernatural realm into our physical world, is a blessed one. The chaste Mary was able to earn the great favor to become the Mother of the LORD Himself.

Mary was obviously a strong woman. Don't forget she isn't married to Joseph when she became pregnant, and you can imagine what neighbors would have said. But she ignored the opinions of others and chose to carry and tend to the Baby in her womb.

5. Joseph

Definitely, it won't have been an easy task for Mary if not for the spiritual and wise Joseph that stood with her, doing all it takes to ensure the well-being of the Baby Jesus.

6. The Early Disciples Of Jesus

Before Jesus came here for His Earthly ministry, there have been several other religions being practiced by different people. But after He ascended to Heaven, His Disciples, who were just around 120 were able to work hard to ensure Christianity spread all over the world like wide fire. If they had not partner with the Holy Spirit to propagate Christ, then you and I won't have known about Him today.

7. Every Christian In Our Own Day

Yeah, as Christians today, we are also Heroes Of Christmas, as we keep celebrating the LORD every year, increasing HIS Fame, and making more people know about His amazing works of redemption.

In conclusion, Jesus is the reason for the season, and Christmas should increase our Love for the LORD, as we reflect upon the sacrifices He made for us. It's not a time to indulge in sinful things all in the name of celebration, but should rather propel us to make a decision to stop anything sinful we have been doing.

The man 'Zacchaeus' was a 'bad guy' that was hated by many people in his society for obvious reasons. However, he encountered the Lord Jesus on a certain day, and his life experienced a massive turnaround for good.

Read the entire story yourself from scripture:

Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:2‭-‬10 NKJV

You see, Jesus is still very much around today and He is ready to bring you out of any form of ugly lifestyle you are living. It doesn't matter the terrible and sinful things you are doing, Jesus is not condemning you, for He loves you greatly.

If like Zacchaeus, you will run to Jesus and forsake your sinful ways, Jesus will come to you right now and make your life so beautiful.

What is the next step?

Run away from sin, and live your life for GOD. It is your destiny to live inside GOD through Jesus Christ Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Only Jesus Christ could boldly proclaim: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6).


Simply say this prayer with sincerity:

"LORD JESUS, I believe in my heart that You died for me and You raised on the third day for my justification. And so I confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and Savior. From today, I belong to the family of God. Thank You for giving me eternal life."


Get a Bible (you can even download online) and study God's Word regularly to know more about the LORD. Look for a Bible believing church around you and fellowship with fellow Christians to grow in the things of the Spirit.
