And to think this my thread attracted the creme de la cream of Nairaland celebrities amazed me, grin
I was surprised to read views from Debosky, Dayokanu among other heavyweights. Una welcome jare, dont mind those cursing me, by the time I welcome them here with enough African goodies, they will know am not talking to spite them or annoy them, if they do honest business. I love honesty, I dont condone crookery.

Guys, dont take me too seriously, I only want materials for the next chapter in my book, it has to do with diasporean crooks, the facts I gave are not too far from the truth. Feel free to ignore this if you do honest business abroad. For those thinking they are doing too well in another mans land, na one day your eye will open. Take small steps to return, Nigeria is not as bad as you make us believe.

I will be back, meanwhile make I go relax, I will first settle to a gallon of chilling fresh palm wine brought down ten minutes ago from a fresh palm tree. There is an assortment of bush meat here in front of me, well cooked, fried and garnished bush meat grin then there is this wonderful, young , BUSTY,African queen waiting in my hideout, calling me since 2 hours ago, telling me she finished the edikaikong soup with enough mangala fish, orisirisi, meat and amala! Who says I will ever leave naija? Never ever. grin grin grin

See bad belle o? Instead of praising the Nigerian man for his sxual prowess, you people are looking for every opportunity to make his kiniko limp? Why shouldnt they enjoy like other animals, how many lionesses does a strong lion have in his bedroom, sorry bush?

Dr Know:
@poster
Before you give this 85% statistics, you should first blame yourself for your laziness and failure in life. This unprovoked attack on the hardworking majority of honest Nigerians who decided to migrate to face whatever hardships that they might face rather sit down at their comfort zone waiting for non existing job positions. They decided not to remain docile like you who prefer to sit in one place and wait for miracles to happen. I will be surprised  if your situation is not one of two things; its either you a deportee due to your own nefarious activities while you were there; or it could be you have applied for visa times without number and got refused due to your recklessness in telling unbelievable lies purporting to be what you are not. I could understand your bitterness towards those living abroad is born out of jealousy, but you will continue to be the failure you have always been if you don't stop depending on your mum for feeding money. By the way how far about the kindergarten novel you claimed to have been writing for five years? Have you been to page five yet?
All this rant just because I hit you with the truth? Oh, I forgot truth is bitter enjoy your life of crime and frustrations. You will one day come back and I employ you as my shoe shine boy (better learn the job over there)
Congratulations! you learnt I am writing a book, how do you like my excerpts? Its on the 60th page and this diaspora thingy will make the next chapter. Save some dollars to buy a copy because it aint gonna be cheap dude!

yawn, another naija v Diaspora topic

i mean really can't people just live their life and stop thinking one place is better than the other. If you think Nigeria is the best thing since sliced bread then say it but to insult those outside Nigeria just yells complex to me.

i mean come on - its now made international headlines that the people dying of cholera in Nigeria is the highest in 20 years and we are here talking of people cleaning toilet - so who cleans the toilets in Nigeriahuhhuhhuh? the Lebanese or American expats - abeg!!

point being we have important things to be worrying about and not who is better or crooks
So, the best way to cure cholera is to commit crime abroad? The topic is not about those that clean toilets anywhere, its about Nigerians that stain out image and reputation. Feel free to go and sleep if you have nothing for us. Thank you.

I think the OP needs to redefine the subject of the post. Maybe he wanted to say that 85% of 'successful' Nigerians in diaspora are crooks
The topic is okay the way it is. Successful or not some of our diaspora folks make us sad. There is this desperation to come home and prove they are rich. It starts here, criminals now travel to exploit their skills and what do you think they will become there? Rogues and very untrustworthy people.
Even succesful ones come back here and commit crimes in higher levels. What is wrong with us sef?

@Debosky

You cannot make any definitive pronouncements on the proportion of corrupt Nigerians in Diaspora. . . .you simply don't have the evidence to back it up.

Neither can the writer of this post. where did he get 85% from.
But you can, count the number of Nigerians you know from any part of the world and tell me how many of them you can vouch for. Why do you think our embassies turn the blind eye when our people are mistreated. How many Nigerian official can come charging any airport security that insists of searching the undies of Nigerian female passengers. We stand aside and watch, afterall its true some of the time. Its really pitiable.

Worry about our thieving politicians before you mock the people in the Diaspora.

WE LEFT THAT IMPOVERISHED/BACKWARDS NATION KNOWN AS NIGERIA FOR A REASON. Now get over it!  angry
You dont get it, we didnt say you shouldnt travel, the gist is the type of thing you do there. To leave a corrupt country and thief abroad is my grouse, why leave in the first place? Those that are clean neednt bother with this topic.

Strong prisons? How about they go back when you can afford the basic amenities like Electricity, Clean water, and better Health care facilities?!
Even when we get the amenities, we wont need you here, thats why I am thinking about comfortable prisons for you. I am being fair man!

Thank you kindly, professor, for exhuming my long-dead writeup on this long-dead subject. Yes sir indeed, I HAVE been to Nigeria before, and I HAVE seen with my own eyes NUMEROUS human cadavers left to rot and fragment by the roadside, in cities, towns, and the countryside. I was able to identify those rotting heaps of flesh as 100% human, despite my very low intelligence quotient, in comparison to your learned self.

Please don't lose any sleep over me though, for I have now re-enrolled in kindergarten so as to gain enough wisdom to simply IGNORE the stiffs and random body parts I see littering the Nigerian landscape, as you are evidently able to do with ease, on account of your sheer brilliance.
You are lying through your gap teeth! There is no part of Nigeria where corpse or human parts litter. Your must have been drunk and stoned to your eyeballs to mistake refuse dumps for human parts.

I dont think you are worth the time or effort, we dont need our bad children back home. Better they stay and waste in some foreign jail. We only ask our sensible children to visit, so thanks, dont come back yet till we build some strong prisons.

I laugh whenever some folks abroad laugh at their brothers at home and accuse them of poverty. But in most families, the ones at home provide the real cash to support their people over there.
Its therefore laughable to hear those broke dudes freezing in heaterless rooms talk of others as not having money to travel or being denied visa. If I want to travel to anywhere, it will be on pure merit, my businesses and investments will make any embassy stamp my passport in the first interview. But who wants an interview sef, am busy watching things here.
Lest I forget, I got two visas when I was 19 and turned them down back then, my mum thought I was crazy but I had a vision. Todayshe things I am the smartest person on earth.
Everyone in naija is not poor!
