The national debt is inclusive of debt owed by sub national entities. This year alone, Abia state planned to borrow N200b local debt and N200 foreign debt. That makes it N400b debt this year alone. The state has about N200b debt already from previous administration and the projected revenue is less than N150b.

With recurrent expenditure almost 50% , I don't have high hopes for the state development.

Abia state budget will continue to beat every budget out there with 84% of the budget being alloted to capital expenditure, this will yield profits that will be used to finance the loans .
