Now let me tell you, 2006 afcon Nigeria had more quality players than Ivory Coast but we lost to them. Kalou broke into our defense dribbled about 4 defenders and scored.

2013 afcon Ivory Coast had more quality players but Nigeria defeated them. So what does that tell you........

You must know that Cameroon might get defeated by all the teams in the world but once they see Nigeria that's when they remember that they do have a pride to protect, that's when they come out with all the power and determination they can muster in the world. Someone said mikel has a high pass accuracy. I ask, which pass accuracy? is it the one he always passes the ball back to defenders or to keeper.

And that's the person one supernerd and co calls world class. I've always said Nigerians glorify what's a bit above average. If you say the truth they'll all attack you because mikel is a nigerian and they are Nigerians.

World-class players power their team to victory when it matters most check out players like Ronaldinho, de lima, Drogba and the rest. These are players that can never be benched by any team in the world.

I don't have the time to argue football with anyone because most times you don't achieve anything and it usually leads to insult. An average Nigerian's idea of world class is just a bit above average in the world stage that's why we hype our own too much here.

A lot of you are already tipping Nigeria to get an upper hand in the two - game encounter with Cameroon just like you did against Egypt in the nations cup qualifier. Let me tell you that game is a 50-50 chance which could swing either way even if Cameroon hadn't qualified from the group stage in the AFCON.

I followed this thread earlier and i saw some people write off Cameroon from getting to the final of the tournament. I LAUGHED. there is no way you could write off any of Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria as not being favorite to lift the afcon anytime even if their players are playing with half-leg. It's like writing off Brazil in the world Cup or writing off sevilla in the uefa cup. All I'm saying is some teams do feel it's their birthright to win the trophy in a particular tournament and it's stupid to write off that team even if you feel they are weak.

So what I'm saying is 1. MIKEL IS NOT WORLD CLASS (PERHARPS ALMOST) 2.THE GAME NIG VS CAM IS 50-50(NO FAVOURITE, COULD SWING EITHER WAY)

All in all, like i said i don't argue football nothing good ever comes out of it and this is just my opinion. Everybody is welcome to his /her own opinion.

Just because Mikel has less competition in the national team don't make him world class. I don't know your standard.. but these term is relative to me.. firstly I won't be making comparisons to other African players. Because we don't have a lot I can place in that category at the moment. The little independence we have as a geo-political zone and prevailing underdevelopment herein with all the billions of Naira accruing to her through federal allocation gives us a tip of the iceberg. Our problem is not chiefly abridged political control, it is a distorted operational paradigm in many of us and the absence of the willpower to bring to the doorstep of our brothers and sisters the dividends of qualitative leadership. In other words, Nigeria is not entirely the problem. We are essentially the problem.

Furthermore, taking a cue from how our political progenitors and nationalists pursued the independence of our country Nigeria is strategic and vital. Going by historical records, they didn't employ the violence approach to negotiate Nigeria's independence with the British empire but rather diplomatic approach. Carrying treason-decorated placards as well as hoisting the Biafran flag, and causing gridlocks on roads will never bring about the manifestation of the self-rule dream.

However, as far as military and financial machinery is concerned, Nigeria is far ahead of any dissident group within her. The bloody Nigerian Civil war of 1967-1970 which saw the surging Biafran empire fall buttresses this. And the recent arrest of the the supposed Biafran leader crystallizes this point even better. Feigning ignorance of this and the non-readiness of Biafra to take shape would demonstrate that Biafran apologists have not learned from history and are not interested in fostering the interests of those they fight for.
