According to a statement by an APC member, Segun Odunuyi, Nigeria's new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, had no prior knowledge of his appointment, till it got public. Mustapha allegedly first heard of his appointment from got to know of his appointment from Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Ameachi at a program for Maritime. Read below;

The new SGF, Boss Mustapha was far away in Lagos, today, Monday 30, October, 2017 with his erstwhile ministerial boss, Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister for Transportation whom he had worked under as Deputy Director General, APC Presidential Campaign Organization and was later appointed the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA.
Both men were in Lagos for a program on Maritime. It was in that program that Amaechi broke the news to Mr Boss Mustapha!
He said, "Congratulations, Boss, you are now my boss." The man replied, "Sir, I don't understand. How do you mean? And Amaechi said, " You have been appointed the Secretary to the Federal Government."
Such show of humility!
This is a lesson for us all. Promotion does not come from the East nor from the West, it comes from above.

A civil society activist Olufemi Aduwo has described the sacking of the former Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria, Babachir Lawal by President Muhammadu Buhari as a hoax. Aduwo who is the Nstional Coordinator, Rights Monitoring Group, a coalition of 45 civil society groups said that rather than fighting corruption, President Buhari is the Patron of corruption in Nigeria.

According to him, by choosing the first cousin of the immediate past secretary to the federal government, Boss Mustapha to replace him showed that Buhari is the promoter in chief of corruption. The civil society activist also said that instead of handing over Babachir to the EFCC,,the presidency made his prosecution optional by stating that EFCC may go after him if they deem it necessary.

"This is a man who was voted for on the strength that he practices zero corruption. But Nigerians have seen that they were duped in 2015. Nigerians have seen that they did not only elected a corrupted leader into office, the leader that they elected is the promoter in chief of corruption. Buhari lives and dines with corrupt people.

He has no intention of sacking Bavachar in the first place it was the uproar over the reinstatement of Maina that forced him to tell Babachir to step aside so that his relation can take over. This is just to tell Nigerians that they are mere noise makers that there opinions don't matter. We know that the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government is not zoned .He just appointed Babachir to tell we Nigerians that we can go and hang ".

Aduwo said the recent development in the country has damaged considerably. According to him, the world now value visa from countries like Zimbabwe than Nigeria. He said that another election is around the corner,adding that Nigerians should be wiser to ensure that pretenders would no longer be elected into office.

"Mark my words, nothing would come out of Babachir Lawal case. EFCC would deceive Nigeria into believing that he is being prosecuted. But we know that he is a sacred cow. The fate of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC),Chief Odigie Oyegun is hanging on the balance following the National Executive Council meeting of the party that is coming up tomorrow in Abuja. To this end, two power blocs have emerged to determine the fate of the embattled national chairman. Who is currently running from one APC state to another lobbying to be saved .

The first is the anti-Oyegun bloc which is being spearheaded by the National Leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and former governor of Osun State Chief Bisi Akande. The Senate president, Bukola Saraki is said to be working underground for this group which also has the sympathy of a good number of the APC governors.

The other one is the pro- Oyegun bloc which has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari and a few of the APC governors. Prince Buraimoh Ojora, one of the leaders of the All Progressive Congress in Lagos who spoke with irukkanews said that the NEC meeting would go a very long way in determining how the party would approach the 2019 general election. According to him, at the moment, there is a deep division in the party because of the way the National Chairman has been piloting the affairs of the party.

He said rather than unifying the party, Oyegun has been using divide and rule to rule the party and at the same time playing one leader against the other to curry favour. According to him, Asiwaju single handedly made Oyegun the national chairman of the party, but he turned against him and began to stab him at the back.


On how Tinubu and Atiku who have not been in the best of terms came together on this cause, he said politics is all about interest. According to him, most of the leaders of the party are not happy with the way Oyegun is running the party and as such there is nothing strange if they come together to rescue the party

"Recently, the Senate president, Bukola Saraki said that no body in APC is happy, that is very correct. Oyegun is doing more harm than good in the party. The image of the party is going down on a daily basis and Oyegun has no answer to it. For us to move forward, we need to remove and put a vibrant person as a national chairman, if not we would be doomed. Oyegun has ran out of ideas, what he is doing now is playing one leader against another and stabbing leaders of the party at the back just to curry favour. This is no way to run a political party.”

Edo state police command say they have arrested four suspects who allegedly killed three policemen and kidnapped the manager of Ogba Zoo and Nature Park in Benin, Dr Andy Ehanire. Mr Ehanire, was kidnapped by armed men on Sunday 24th of September 2017. In the process of his kidnap, three police officers who were stationed at the Zoo and Nature Park were shot dead.

Briefing newsmen on the new development, spokesman of the Edo State police command, DSP Moses Nkombe, confirmed the arrest pointing out that the suspected kidnappers were arrested in Delta State. He said,

"We arrested them in their hideouts. We are making effort now to recover arms and other things. They were arrested in Delta State early Thursday morning and they were already in Benin before 5a.m. They have confessed to the crime. One of them who shot the policemen and the driver are among the people arrested.”

The sum of N800,000 was said to have been recovered from the wife of one of the suspects. Narrating how Dr. Ehanire was abducted, one of the suspected kidnappers confessed in a video recording that they earlier attempted to carry out the kidnap twice but were prevented by the presence of policemen.

According to him, during the third attempt, they had to kill the three policemen and took their target away through the water ways. He said they attempted to burn the vehicle they used but there was no matches to ignite a fire.

The suspects were tracked down and arrested yesterday evening following a massive hunt for them. According to reports, they collected over 25 million Naira and $100,000 from the Ehanire family.

Against the backdrop of the recent outcry over the reinstatement of Abdurasheed Maina into the public service and later sacked, Nigeria`s foremost civil society group, Civil Liberties Organization(CLO), has said that the war against looting of public funds by civil servants cannot be won until public office holders change their attitude towards civil servants welfare.

Recall that in 2013, Alhaji Abdurashed Maina was appointed to head the Pension Reform Team with the mandate to fish out the bad eggs who were looting the pension funds they were asked to keep in trust for the civil servants. He and his team had diligently and patriotically gone to work ,discovered and recovered tens of billions of civil servants money that were siphoned. But instead of handing over the loot to government, he in –turn re-looted it and disappeared.

Speaking in an interview with irukkanews, the Executive Director of the organization, Ibuchukwu Ezike said that political office holders poor treatment of civil servants is the main reason why they steal. According to him, Nigerian civil servants and pensioners are being subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment. He said that the national minimum wage is N18,000 and yet most of the governors are not paying the salaries. He also said the stipend that pensioners receive are also not being paid regularly. Ezike said a Nigerian senator takes home every month the salaries of about 3000 pensioners. His words,

"Political Office holders poor treatment of civil servants could be said to be the main reason why they steal public funds. The average Nigerian civil servant has no future. His minimum wage is a paltry N18,000. He lives from hand to mouth. He can not save. He cannot build a house of his own and cannot even send his children to good schools. Even though I am not trying to justify looting. But it appears that the only way he can have a safe future is by stealing. We all have seen the fate of our pensioners. Some of them have slumped and died on the queue while waiting to be paid .I want to say that the only way we can reduce this urge to steal is to begin to treat our civil servants with dignity and paying them living wages as an when due”.

Imo state indigenes under the aegis of Imo People's Assembly (IPA), has told governor Rochas Okorocha to use local government election to test the feeling of Imo people about him. This is as a federal high court in Abuja has granted leave to one Non Governmental Organization,Kingdom Human Right Foundation Internstional (kHRFI), to commence legal action seeking to stop further statutory allocation to local governments in Imo State, pending the conduct of council poll.

According to the president of Imo People's Assembly, Prince Ignatius Ozaraebuka,organizing a council poll would be the best way the governor who has been enmeshed in several controversies in recent time, including moulding a N620 million mammoth statue of Jacob Zuma of South Africa in Owerri the capital of Imo state to know how Imo indigenes feel about him and his administration.

He said since Okorocha came to power in 2011 till date, he has not conducted local government election. According to him,the last council poll in Imo state was conducted in 2010,by the former governor, Ikedi Ohakim but when Okorocha came on board a year later, he dissolved the democratically elected local government chairmen and appointed caretaker committees. He said the non- conduct of local government election has continually denied the people of the state the opportunity to tell their governor how they feel, since election is the only way to tell a public officer holder whether he is doing well or not.

Furthermore, he said by refusing to conduct council election in the last seven years, Okorocha has killed democracy in the local government areas and also denied Imo indigenes the opportunity to participate in the running of their state through the local governments. According to him,as at today in Imo, the only place that has a semblance of government going on is in Owerri, the state capital. He said this has affected development in the rural areas since the caretaker committees owe allegiance to the governor who appointed them. On the legality of not conducting local government election, he said that section 40 of the 1999 constitution as amended stated unequivocally that, As citizens and adults they are eligible to vote and be voted for in any local government election in their state. His words,

" Okorocha has an idea of what he would get if he conducts local government election in Imo state. He is aware even without being told that he has disappointed the masses and as such does not want to be disgraced if he conducts election. His saving grace is that he is now in his second and final term and would never in his life seek for any elective position in Imo state. That is why he is behaving like Rambo on the loose. Imo people are praying for just one opportunity to give him a bloody nose and local government election would be a great one to do that. Therefore, if he feels that he is the greatest thing to happen to Imo people with regard to good governance, I dare him to conduct council poll and see the outcome. He does not know that there is a limit to lies and propaganda. He is going to South Africa and northern parts of the country to tell them of how popular he is with his people. Let him prove it by conducting council".

Crusade For Justice, a Non Governmental Organization/Human Right Advocacy group has stepped into the Anambra ritual murder imbroglio. This as a result of the alleged attempt by the suspect,Ifeanyi Okpoko to influence the case in his favour.

Speaking in an interview with irukkanews, the President/ Founder of the organization, Barr. Richard Nwankwo said that they decided to step into the case to ensure that justice is done. According to him, for the past 15 years, Crusade For Justice has being taking briefs from the poor and oppressed Nigerians and getting justice for them. He said he was disturbed by the picture of the deceased, Chidera Ezeanya, where he was tied on a crane and left to die, adding that even in a war situation, whoever did that deserve to be punished.

According to him, the role crusade for justice is going to play in the case is to ensure that both the accused and the complainant are given the liberty to exhaust their complains and defense without external influence and for the judge to decide the matter base on the evidence put before him.


"As a human right advocacy group, what we hate is miscarriage of justice.We ensure that the innocent does not get punished and that the guilty does not go scot-free,no matter how rich or powerful he is in the society. I have patiently listened to the complaints of the family of Chidera Ezeanya and I know that we have the machinery to get to the root of the matter. We will do our best to ensure that the right thing would be done. It is really an unfortunate case,a case of two people from the same kindred." He said


The human right lawyer said that people should try not to be taking the law into their hand,no matter the amount of provocation. According to him, it is only the state that has the right to take somebody's life, after court of competent jurisdiction has found such a person guilty and all the convicted right of appeal exhausted. He said it is because of this that the National Assembly want to pass a law against jungle justice. Nwankwo also told irukkanews that as part of their human right advocacy,they do visit prisons to fight for the release of prisoners who were unlawfully jailed or awaiting trials who have spent the number of years hey would have been sentenced,assuming they were convicted.

His words,"We have visited Ikoyi and Enugu prisons several times to fight for the release of unlawfully detained inmates or people who are being denied justice and fair hearing.We also do some charity work. Over 40% of women murdered are committed by male intimate partners - Barr. Nwankwo


The President/Founder, Crusade for Justice, Barr. Richard Nwankwo has lamented the ever growing cases of physical and sexual abuse of women in the society. Speaking in a welcome address with the theme, "Celebrating the Nigerian Woman, A hallmark for excellence" at the 15th Annual Lecture of the Crusade for Justice in Lagos, he said global the estimates by World Health Organization(WHO), indicate that about 1 in 3 or 35 per cent women worldwide have experienced either physical and or sexual intimate partner or non partner sexual violence in their lifetime.

According to him, equally frightening is the fact that about 40 per cent of murderers of women are committed by male intimate partners. He said the courts and police stations all over the country are hugely inundated with cases of physical and sexual abuses, adding that it is a big challenge for the law enforcement agencies and government to appraise all the dynamics in play and proffer solutions with deep Socratic blend. According to him, one is compelled to ask the following questions: what are our courts doing to contain and drastically rein in the forces at play? What are the Non Governmental Organizations doing to arrest these developments? What about our gladiators in the National Assembly, are they really up to this task while constantly bickering for allowances and emoluments? At individual levels, what are we doing in homes, offices and business environments to effectively curtail this malady?

" These questions are endless and it seems that we have left undone those things which we ought to have done and have consistently and assiduously done those things which we ought not to have done. But we are persuaded by the extremely commendable and result - oriented stance taken by the Lagos State government in addressing these issues and we believe that in itself that represents the most revolutionary and intellectually - driven intervention, with a firm political resolve to contain this fast - spreading virus.

Admitting that these problems exist, at the government level, is the first practical step towards finding a solution.We believe that governments at all segments should energize and give greater impetus to our extant laws, by giving them some measure of bite if these challenges are to be surmounted and reasonably checked." The address read in part.

According to him, it is beyond contention that these are public health problems and violators of women's human rights, and by extension, those of men.

The family of slain the 17 year old boy in what is been suspected to be a ritual murder have raised alarm about a suspicious foul play in the case of the arrested ritual murderer Ifeanyi Okpoko, who was last Thursday taken to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, by the Homicide section of the Nigerian Police without any notice. Okpoko had on Sunday October 1st abducted 17 years old Chidera Ezeanya at Umunnama Village, Eziowelle in Idemili North Local Government Area and tied him on a crane until he died and when his body was discovered the next day, some vital organs were missing.

The suspected ritual murderer who prior to this heinous crime had been involved in other dangerous crimes, including engaging the men of the Nigerian Police in a shoot-out at Ajao Estate, Lagos was arrested by the men of the Ogidi Police in Idemili, Anambra State where he was kept until last week Thursday.
However, the family of the deceased are now lamenting that the Police wants to help the suspect to escape justice.

According to the counsel to the family, Barr.Patrick Ekwunife, Ogidi Police gave the suspect the liberty to be using phone in the cell with which he is still making contact with the members of his dreaded gang that are yet to be arrested. He said the suspect even made a post on his facebook page, bragging that nothing would happen to him. According to him, the suspect even had the audacity to tell the Commissioner of Police in Anambra state that the allegation against him was not murder but mob action and as such the charge should be changed.
Ekwunife said the family of the complaint are not party to the transfer of the suspect from Ogidi Police Station to Abuja, adding that the office of the Inspector General of Police is also not aware of it.

"I have written a petition to the Office of the Inspector General of Police. However, I was told that before signal came from the IGP`s office, another signal which I don’t know the source came, directing the Anambra State Police to transfer the suspect to Abuja. I want the world to know that the Police at Ogidi want to help a ritual murderer to escape justice. How on earth can somebody who is under arrest for ritual murder be allowed to be using phone in the cell with which he is using to communicate with the others members of his gang who are still at large.

With the same phone, he has been sending threatening text messages to the members of the family of the deceased and bragging on his Facebook page that nothing would happen to him, and to prove that he meant what he is saying, he had contacted a lawyer who wrote a petition to an unknown police division and last Thursday, we were told that he has been transferred to Abuja.”Ekwunife said

A woman in Badagry area of Lagos, Mrs. Florence Essien has confessed that she made juju to be attracting men to herself. Speaking at a deliverance service at Rhema Deliverance Mission, Kilometre 43, Lagos –Badagry Express way, Lagos, the mother of three little children said that her reason for doing that was because her husband of 10 years abandoned her with children.

He also said that if any man kisses me, suck my breast or have sex with me, he would never leave me again and would be doing whatever I tell him to do for me.”

When she was asked if the charm was working, she said that it was working adding that she was getting a lot of money from men, only that she did not know what she is doing with the money.
On her mission to the church, she said that pastors are her main victims. According to her, she had seduced over 41 pastors with the charm. Her words;

"What I used to do is every Sunday, I would take my bath, rub the charm on my eye lashes and then go to any church of my choice. I always try to be there early enough so that I would sit on the front seat so that I would be able to make eye contact with the pastor. Most of the time after doing that, the pastor would give me sign or tell one of the ushers to tell me to wait for him after service and from there we go out to a hotel or any other place. So, I see Rhema Deliverance Mission as a very big church which means the pastor will be very rich.

This morning I did as I used to do, that is rubbed the charm on my eye lashes, lips, breast and private parts. I also came early so that I would sit at the front seat. But as I was sitting I began to feel fire burning inside my body. With all the fans, I was still feeling very hot so I stood up went outside. The burning sensation stopped. When I came inside, it started again and before I knew what was happening, I fainted.”

In his reaction, the General Overseer, Lagos West of the church, Pastor Anene Nwachukwu said that bad company usually corrupt good manners. According to him, native doctors are nothing but bunch of fraudsters. He said the pastors that have fallen victim have no foundation in God. According to him the woman was not the first person that has come to the church with charm and failed.

He said even native doctors have been coming and immediately they step into the church, their mission would fail.

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has dismissed the mammoth crowd that attended the All Progressives Congress (APC), governorship rally at Onitsha yesterday. According to the Deputy National Chairman (South), of the party, Chief Uchenna Okogbue, the crowd were rented to give the impression that the party is on ground in Anambra State.

He said APC took advantage of the hardship it has inflicted on the masses to entice them to the rally.
According to him, over 90 per cent of the people at the campaign ground were there just because of what was given to them. Okogbue said come November 18, Governor Willie Obiano would win the election with a landslide. According to him, the people of Anambra State have made up their minds to vote massively for Gov. Hell was let loose this morning at Alaba International market, Lagos as over one thousand Nigerians fight over 20 quarter bags of rice at a Business Summit. As a way of encouraging punctuality at the event, the organizers of the business summit, Reim Orange Global Ltd, a real estate firm had promised that the first 20 people to be at the venue of the summit would be given bags of rice.

The time for the commencement of the summit was slated for 10 am, however, as early as 6 am, over five hundred people were already at the gate of the venue waiting for the organizers to arrive.
Before they eventually arrived at around 9.30 am, over 1000 people were already on ground. Trouble began to brew when different lists began to appear as the first to arrive at the venue. In order to avert being mobbed, the organizers decided to bring out the 20 bags of rice for the crowd to scramble.

Speaking with irukkanews reporter who was on ground to cover the summit, one of the organizers Damilola Bamgbose said the scramble for the rice by able bodied Nigerians was a clear evidence of how poverty is ravaging Nigerians. According to her, the free bags of rice was not the focus of the business summit, but rather they want to use it to encourage punctuality.

She said the summit is to teach people practical and legitimate ways of making money, however, she said because of the level of poverty, the people decided to make it their focal point. Her words;

”REIM Orange Global Ltd is a business club .We teach our members practical and legitimate ways of making money. With our lessons, people do make over one million naira every month. So, we are helping to eradicate poverty from the country which is now endemic ..The 20 bags of rice for the first 20 people to arrive at the venue is just an incentive to encourage people to come early because Nigerians have very poor attitude to time .But what we are seeing today is that people are now more interested in the rice than what they should learn from us and this quite unfortunate.”

Reacting to the turn of event, Adewunmi Poopola, one of the attendants said that he came to the venue as early as five in the morning and was among the first people to write his name on the authentic list.
However, he said when other saw people that the first 20 people that came had written their names, they began to write other lists. Which caused the confusion.

As the time of filing this report, Police had come to control the rampaging crowd, while some of the wounded had gone to seek for treatment. According to him, over 90 per cent of the people at the venue came because of the free rice ,rather than the business lecture.

He condemned the idea of exporting food stuffs like rice and yam to other countries while Nigerians are starving to death.

Ahead of the October 31,National Executive Meeting of the All Progressives Alliance (APC), Irukkanews can exclusive report of a plot by the majority of the party governors to remove the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and replace him with the immediate past governor of Edo State,Adams Oshiomole. A source that does not want to be named told Irukkanews that the plot is now at an advance stage.

The source said that the plot is sure to get the blessing of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who had a running battle with Chief Oyegun during the Ondo State governorship election in 2016 as well as the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who is not happy with the way Oyegun has been piloting the affairs of the party. However, it said while Tinubu would be happy to see Oyegun thrown into the cold, it is not clear if he would support Adams Oshiomole as the replacement.

"By the APC constitution,only the deputy national chairman from the south, in this case, Chief Segun Oni can replace Oyegun. But right now, we don't know the relationship between Asiwaju and Segun Oni.The truth is that there is a division between the South West APC and the Abuja APC which has Babatunde Fashola as the arrow head. We don't know where Segun Oni's loyalty is.

This division was clearly seen during the last Lagos council election in which the two factions fought for supremacy. Even right now the fight is still on though underground, that is why the elected executive chairmen are yet to resume work fully because the supervisory councilors to work with them have not been appointed. They have been trying to patch their differences. Another thing is that it is been rumored that Chief Segun Oni wants to contest Ekiti state governorship election next year and if the rumor is true,there is no way he would accept the national chairmanship position of the party."

Meanwhile, despite the constitutional handicap, the pro Oshiomole governors have resolved to continue to push their luck with the hope that if Oyegun is removed,Oshiomole might be considered. However, Chief Oyegun is desperately working very hard to pacify the governors who have turned against him ahead of the October meeting. He has sent lobbyists to the governors to make case for him.

A financial analyst, Raphael Adigun has lamented President Muhammadu Buhari's passion for foreign loans.
President Buhari has requested the Nigerian Senate to approve for him to borrow the sum of five billion, five hundred million dollars from external sources to fund capital projects in the 2017 budget. Speaking in an interview with irukkanews, he said the president's penchant for foreign loans has put our unborn generation in debt.

He said rather than Senate approving the request, Buhari should explain what his administration had done with the recovered looted funds. According to him, instead of telling Nigerians how much looted funds have been recovered and what they have been used for, all the president is doing is borrowing and mortgaging the future of our unborn children. He said since the president came on board, all the billions of dollars that had been borrowed,none had translated to development. According to him, the latest request for another $5.5 billion is another of the several attempts by this government to darken the future of unborn generation.

He said Buhari's so -called economic team has failed woefully to think out of the box on how this government can run without foreign debt. No Country according to him in the world has developed with foreign debt. Adigun said countries like Singapore,Malaysia and Brazil developed by looking inwards, rather than outwards. His words,

" I want to say that President Muhammadu Buhari's penchant for foreign loan is mortgaging the future of our unborn children. The senate should be responsible enough to reject this obsession because it is not in the best interest of our country. Rather than approve the latest request,he should be asked to account for the recovered looted funds and what they have been used for. In 2016, Nigerians were told that the recovered looted funds would be used to fund the 2017 budget but that is not to be.

Nigerians have not being told how much has been recovered. What we are hearing now is that $5.5 billion should be approved to fund the deficit that we don't know how it arose".

He said another name for democracy,adding that there cannot be democracy without accountability.
According to him, until the tiers of government in the country begin to account to the people, what we practicing is not democracy but fiefdom. He said apart from federal government penchant for foreign loans,the states are also guilty for foreign loans. According to him, till date, no state in the country has given account of how it used the Paris loan refund.

He said that most of the states wasted theirs on frivolous projects that would have no impact on the lives of their citizens.

" We are leaving unjustifiable debts to our unborn children and they would not be happy with us.This is very unfortunate. I pray that our law makers would try to live up to their responsibilities by always demanding for accountability before approving any request for loans.You cannot just continue to borrow without letting the citizens know what you did with the previous loans.

Igbo youths under the aegis of Igbo Youths Initiative has said that the controversy surrounding the whereabouts of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu would haunt the current south east governors who would be seeking for second term of office in 2019. The whereabouts of the leader of IPOB, became an issue after the Army invaded his Afaraukwu Umuahia country home in September 14, and since then he had not been seen nor heard. According to the president of the organization, Alexander Ezeobi, there is no way the southeast governors would sweep the issue of Nnamdi Kanu under the carpet.

He said the governor's sacrificed Igbo interest for their own selfish ambition, adding that they would answer to the youths at the appointed time. According to him, what Nnamdi Kanu is doing is not different from what Gani Adams and other agitators are doing but while the southwest leaders and others are protecting their own, Igbo leaders are betraying their own for selfish purposes. He said that since the southeast governors forum under the leadership of the governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi said that it is going to set up a panel to investigate the killing, nothing has been heard from them.

According to him, the southeast governors are playing politics with very critical issue. He said there is no way they can get away with it.

"What the governors don't know is that Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of a masses movement in the south east and the other oppressed people in the other parts of the country. His agitations for equity, justice and fairness resonates with the people and as such his whereabouts would continue to be a recurring decimal as long as we live.

"We will continue to demand for answers. It cannot be swept under the carpet. The southeast governors forum sacrificed Nnamdi Kanu and his genuine agitations to preserve their selfish ambition. But that is only for a while. Come 2019, they must tell us where he is or what happened to him before they would ask for our votes."

On the absence of Kanu at the trial in Abuja, he said that the surprise has no case to answer. According to him, asking Enyinnaya Abaribe to produce Nnamdi Kanu when they know that it is the soldiers that caused his disappearance is unnecessary intimidation. He said that it is the soldiers that invaded his house that should account for his whereabouts.

"Southeast governors and the Nigerian Army should account for Nnamdi Kanu' s whereabouts.It is them that conspired and invaded his house.Senator Abaribe has no hand in his disappearance so why bother him.This is the way they are persecuting the Igbo for no just cause."

Igbos under the aegis of Igbo Stakeholders Forum in Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA),recently celebrated their new yam festival. The event which was held at Greenfield Estate, Ago Palace Way, Okota, was graced by prominent government officials like the Commissioner for Land Affairs, Ladi Ajomale, the Executive Chairman, Isolo Local Council Development Area, Samsudeen Olaleye and his vice chairman ,Bayo Olaseji, the former House of Representative member for Oshodi- Isolo Federal Constituency, Hon.Hakeem Muniru.


Also in attendance were notable Igbo traditional rulers like Eze Uzu Ichida, in Anambra State, Eze Ambrose Ubah, the Eze Igbo of Mushin Land, Eze John Nwosu, prominent Igbo leader in Lagos, Chief Oliver Akubueze among others. Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of Igbo Stakeholders Forum Isolo, Prince Nixon Okwara said yam in Igbo land is regarded as the king of crops.

Okwara who is the son of the late traditional ruler of Isiekenese in Ideato Local government Area in Imo State, Eze Okwaruba said the new yam festival signifies to the Igbos, the beginning of harvesting season. He said Igbo uses the festival to show appreciation to God Almighty for keeping them alive through out the planting season and also use the opportunity to pray for good health and protection while they await the next planting season.


According to him, the main reason why they are celebrating it outside Igbo land is to acquaint their children who are born in Diaspora with the culture and tradition of their people. On the origin of Igbo stakeholders Forum, he said it was a child of circumstance. According to him, after the 2015 general election, the relationship between the Igbo and their host community, that is the Yoruba deteriorated considerably.

He said some well meaning Igbo men living in Isolo came together to think of a platform that they could use to dialogue with their host community who has been good to them. According to him, they came up with a chatter of demand which included government giving the Igbos in the area sense of belonging by constructing the roads in Igbo highly populated areas ,giving them employment, political appointments and other things. He said the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Alliance, Chief Henry Ajomale and other leaders of thought in the Local Council Development Area adopted the chatter of demand and magnimously begin to implement them. According to him, that has led to the Igbo been given two councillorship slots out of the seven in the last Lagos Council poll. He also said the tenement rate they pay in the area has reduced considerably as part of the demands of the forum Okwara said the Igbo stakeholders forum has brought about harmonious relationship between the Igbo and their host community.

In his contribution ,the Executive Chairman Isolo Council Development Arwa,Samsudeen Olaleye described the Igbos living in his council as partners in progress. According to him ,they have contributed immensely in the development of the area. He described the chairman of the forum, Prince Okwara as a man with a midas touch. According to him, when Prince Okwara was the chairman of Greenfield estate, he made Isolo proud by winning the best Community development area in Lagos State. He also said that before the council election, Okwara ssured him that Igbos living in his council would vote for him and they did so massively.

“I am very proud of the chairman of your forum. Whatever he touches turns to gold. I want to form Okota Stakeholders forum and he is one of the two people that I am going to work with because he is a great mobilize of men and means.

Also contributing, the Commissioner for Land Affaira, Ladi Ajomale commended the harmonious relationship existing between the Igbos and the Yoruba in Isolo in particular and Lagos State in general. According to him, the other name for democracy is development. However, he said there cannot be development in the absence of peace. He appreciated Prince Okwara for his efforts to ensure there is a platform where the indigenes and non indigenes can sit at a round table to iron out their challenges and move forward.

He also promised to ensure that Igbos would be getting their fair share in the scheme of things in the state.

An association of Imo state indigenes under the aegis of Imo Peoples Assembly(IPA) has described Governor Rochas Okorocha as a disgrace to the state. Speaking on the heels of the unveiling of a mammoth statue of the South African President Jacob Zuma in Owerri,last Friday, the founder of the organization, Prince Ignatius Ozaraebuka said Okorocha has become the worst thing that has happened to the people of Imo State with regard to governance. According to him, there is no basis whatsoever for honoring Jacob Zuma in West Africa, let alone Nigeria as he has been superintending the death of countless Nigerians.

Ozaraebuka said few days to the award,a young Nigerian ,Jelili Omoyele was brutally murdered in South Africa. Furthermore, he said rather than honour Zuma in Nigeria,what Okorocha and his party would have done was to demand unreserved apology from Zuma and an assurance that he would stop the xenophobia that is going on in his country. He also accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of helping Okorocha to ridicule the Igbo race.

According to him,where in the southwest has any governor erected a statue of any foreign leader.
He said instead of Obasanjo cautioning Okorocha to desist from such shameful acts, he is encouraging him to be making mockery of the Igbo who are the major victims of the xenophobia in South Africa.

" I want to say with every sense of responsibility that Owelle Rochas Okorocha is a very big disgrace, not only to the people of Imo state but to Nigerians as a whole.What has Jacob Zuma done to deserve N620 million statue in Owerri,Imo state even when workers in the state have been at best on half salary for two years now. I am from the same zone with the governor and in our zone,some towns like Isiekenesi ,the only road that connect them to the other parts of the state has been completely cut off by erosion. In some areas, there are no electricity,no schools and no hospitals and this man is using the scarce resources that should be used for the development of our state on statue of somebody who a lot of our sons and daughters have been murdered under his watch."

He said that even the statue that was moulded in South Africa in honour of Zuma was rejected by his people and Okorocha had the effrontery to repeat the same mistake in Nigeria where the name of the South African leader is most unpopular. According to him,Imo people should remain calm and work towards changing Okorocha and everything he stands for in the 2019 general election.

Contributing,the Secretary of the organization,Ben Njoku said that it is very unfortunate that Imo people is saddled with somebody like Okorocha. According to him, the people of Imo have a governor who does not feel what they are feeling. He said that Okorocha does not know that there is hunger in the land.

"Okorocha lives in wonder land where everything is perfect.That is why he can afford to waste N620 million on statue even when workers in the state have been placed on permanent half salary.There is no infrastructure in Imo State.All the roads have collapsed.There is no hospital and no electricity.What we are been treated with is the more you look,the less you see."Njoku said

Last Friday,Governor Okorocha unveiled a mammoth statue of Jacob Zuma in Owerri ,the capital of Imo state, which is estimated to have cost a whooping N620 million.Apart from that,a road was also named after him in the heart of the town and he was also awarded a traditional title of Ochiagha Imo by the Eze Imo, Eze Samuel Ohiri. The certificate of the Chieftaincy award was presented to Zuma by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo

Anambra Vanguard for Good Governance has revealed that Governor Willie Obiano financed the anti Obaze rally that was staged at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka recently by Prince Kenneth Emeakayi and other disgruntled elements in Anambra State PDP. According to the Coordinator of the organization, Hon. Anselm Ibenegbu, the plot to stage the rally the same day the PDP flag bearer for the November 18, governorship election, Oseloka Obaze would be flagging off his campaign was hatched at a hotel behind Awka Government House by the members of the Obiano Campaign Organization and Prince Kenneth Emeakayi and his own group.

Recall that while the National leadership of the PDP, including the National Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, Former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, among other bigwigs of the party were at the All Saints Cathedral Field, Onitsha to flag off Oseloka Obaze`s campaign, Prince Kenneth Emeakayi and his own faction of PDP were at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, holding a counter rally.

Ibenegbu said it was agreed at the meeting that Emeakayi should try to convince other disgruntled elements in the party, especially those that contested the party's governorship primary with Obaze and lost to attend the rally, while APGA would support them with crowd. According to him, in order to lure unsuspecting members of the party to attend the rally, Emeakayi had to hide under a hurriedly formed group known as Anambra Grassroot Movement and said that he was organizing enlightenment for non-violent election.
He said it was because of that he had to put his real agenda last ,just to justify the money he had collected from the governor. His words,

"It was a live programme on Channels television which was sponsored with Anambra State taxpayers money. Those who watched it would testify that Emeakayi was afraid to disclose his evil agenda. He was concentrating on non violence instead of telling the world what he has been paid to do. But when he realized that his pay masters would not be happy with him because that was not what he had collected money to tell the people. He managed to tell them that Chief Henry Oseloka Obaze was not a registered member of PDP and therefore is not the legitimate candidate of the PDP for the election and immediately he said that hell broke loose. The rally came to an abrupt end as the crowd he has tricked into coming left disappointed"

According to him, it was a show of shame for both the governor and Emeakayi. He said Emeakayi had promised at the meeting that he would bring Ifeanyi Ubah,Senator Stella Oduah and Chief Obigbolu to the rally and also persuade his own faction of PDP to declare support to for Willie Obiano`s second term ambition. which he failed. According to him, the four days ultimatum that he and his partners in crime gave to the national leadership of PDP was never part of the plan but was invented at the rally ground just to save their face.

Meanwhile some of the PDP supporters who attended the rally have complained of deception. Some of them who spoke to irukka news said that they were tricked to attend. According to them, they were told to attend a non-violence campaign rally at the Alex Ekwueme Square, but they never knew that Emeakayi had also sold them in advance and pocketed the money. Henry Okoli who was at the rally said that he was sure that if the election would be free and fair, PDP would win, therefore, when he was asked to attend a non violence rally, he jumped at it. However, he said that he was shocked when Emeakayi began to say a different thing.

Today October 17th is the day leader of the now proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu is supposed to resume in court for his trial continuation but him actually making it to court is a question that has thrown so much anxiety among his followers and most especially his sureties given the fact that Nnamdi Kanu has not been seen or heard of seen September 24th after the Nigerian army raided his Afaraukwu, Umuahia home

Nnamdi Kanu is currently facing treason charges along with some members of his group. He was granted bail on health grounds with Senator Enyinaya Abaribe as one of his sureties. On Kanu's whereabout, his lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has been insisting that only the Nigerian army can tell us where Kanu is;

"Only the army can tell us where he is. Either they arrested him or they killed him. If he is alive, they should bring him to the court Today.

Justice ministry spokesman Salihu Othman Isah said whether the trial would go ahead would depend on Kanu’s appearance and the judge. I can’t tell you specifically what will happen,” he added. Kanu was first arrested in October 2015 and held in custody until April.

A Human Right Activist, Richard Okonkwo has described the continuous raiding of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu ,country home as petty. Speaking in an interview with irukkanews, Okonkwo who is with Human Right and Democracy Advocacy Organization said that what the Nigerian security agencies are doing is making Nnamdi Kanu more popular. According to him, the world know that IPOB is a non-violent organization ,adding that no amount of propaganda and blackmail could change the position.

He said the world is aware that Nigerian police is notorious for planting guns and other weapons in suspects houses in order to establish non-existing cases. He also said that the world has become aware that the Abia State Police Commissioner ,Anthony Ogbizi want to use IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu to curry favour from President Muhammadu Buhari and enhance his career in the Police.

"I want to say that what the Nigerian Army and the Police are doing in Nnamdi Kanu`s country home is petty. It is nothing but shows of shame. How do they want the world to believe that Nnamdi Kanu is stockpiling arms including bombs in his house? The Indigenous People of Biafra like its sister organization, MASSOB is a non-violent organization.

Nobody can say that a member of IPOB has been cut in violent acts, so what is the need of stockpiling arms? The Abia State Commissioner of Police is thinking that he would use Nnamdi Kanu to enhance his career and curry favour from the president, that is why he is lying and contradicting his lies.

What we know is that Nnamdi Kanu is being persecuted by the Nigerian security agencies. President Buhari may not know what they are doing. But the reality is that they want to use him to curry favour but it is backfiring.” He said

He said in an election year in Anambra StaTE, Buhari approved the appointment of 55 key NNPC key officials without a single person from the Southeast geopolitical zone. Furthermore, he said till date there is no Igbo man among the service chiefs, the first time since the end of the civil war. His words,

”President Muhammadu Buhari`s anti Igbo policies is certainly going to count against the APC governorship candidate in the Anambra election, Igbo are not fools. They know that there is no government that has marginalized them like the Buhari government and in life there is always a pay back time.

So, the Anambra government election is going to be pay back time, Imagine in an election year, President Buhari approved the appointment of 55 key officials of the NNPC without a single individual from the southeast. A breakdown of the appointment showed that the south south that is producing the bulk of the oil has two persons, while the southwest has three.

The north that does not produce a single barrel is oil has 40 people in the list. How can anybody justify this, so all this is going to count against the APC in the November election. Even to say the least, the APC is jinxed in Anambra State.

According to Ifeanyi Onwubiko, the sole importer of wharfedale products in West Africa, the purpose of slashing the price of the products is to enable their teeming customers have access to quality musical equipment.

He said though the products were imported when the dollar was exchanging at a very high rate ,they decided to come down as a way of showing concern for them.According to him, throughout this ember months, every of their product would be sold 30 percent less than the previous price. Onwubiko said the current economic hardship has made a lot of people to be going for substandard musical equipment.

Furthermore, he said some dubious musical equipment dealers have also capitalized on the economic downturn and bringing in China made musical equipment which they are selling at give away prices to unsuspecting customers. According to him, some dealers sell particle boards as acoustic, adding that when they come into contact with water, they would swell up.
