Breaking: Tagbo's Autopsy Result Released, Davido Lied, Re-invited For Questioning

Lagos State Police have revealed that Tagbo Umeike, Music star, Davido's late friend died from suffocation.

Briefing the public this afternoon, Acting Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal also informed newsmen that Davido has been re-invited for questioning because he lied that he only knew of the Tagbo’s demise while he was at a night club, DNA in Victoria Island, a claim that has been found to be untrue


According to Edgal, the original autopsy report revealed that Tagbo died of suffocation, adding that he was abandoned in his car at the hospital by Davido’s driver and two of his friends.

This is getting more dicey for Davido.

In a bid to have strong presence on the West Coast, Med-View Airline will on Monday, October 27 spread its wings to Abidjan, Conakry and Dakar with an inaugural flight With the three new cities, the airline now has six destinations on the West Coast as Accra, Monrovia and Freetown are already on its network.

The flights to the new destinations will be three times a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday with early departures (7.30am) from Lagos. The airline's new generation aircraft -B737-800 is scheduled to service the route. Managing Director and CEO of Medview Airline, Alhaji Muneer Bankole who successfully coordinated the 2017 Hajj in which the airline airlifted over 17,000 pilgrims declared, "our expansion programme is informed by research and planning.

"In the very near future, we will be operating to Johannesburg, South Africa; Lisbon, Portugal; Libreville, Gabon and Houston in the US,' the CEO said.

He disclosed that the airline has already positioned for Dubai come November /December. Meanwhile, the fast growing airline penultimate week completed the return airlift of pilgrims who performed this year’s Hajj exercise with the last flight of pilgrims from the Eastern zone comprising Enugu, Port Harcourt, among others departing King Abdul-Azeez International Airport. According to the airline, about 15, 000 have been returned home from Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the airline commenced return journeys on Sunday September 10 with a promise to compete the airlift in two weeks. The figure comprises pilgrims from Kaduna (about 5000), Lagos, Kwara as well as international pilgrims who came through the tour operators. The last batch of Kaduna pilgrims departs on Wednesday night while the airlift of Lagos zone consisting of Lagos, Oyo and Osun and Edo pilgrims has been concluded.

Outside the shores of Nigeria, the airline also airlifted 1, 400 pilgrims from Djibouti, 500 from Guinea-Bissau and another 600 Sudanese pilgrims from Khartoum, the Sudan capital. The airline which deployed three aircraft for this year’s exercise including B747-400, B777-200 and B767-300 has in the last 11 years of its foray into Hajj operations airlifted over 350,000 pilgrims who performed the annual Hajj exercise.

Kachikwu, 'Butterfly Mistaking Himself For A Bird' - Group Urges Him To Resign If He Has Integrity

Igbo Renaissance Forum said that the altercation between the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru has clearly shown that Nigeria is not yet a country but a fiefdom. Speaking in an interview with Irukkanews, the General Secretary of the organization, Ugochukwu Okebalam said that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources should resign if he has integrity since he is one of those fooling themselves that there is a country called Nigeria.

According to him, it is probably based on the belief that there is a country called Nigeria that Kachikwu reported Baru to the presidency only to have his fingers burnt. Irukkanews had exclusively reported on Monday that the countenance of the Minister when he stormed out of President Buhari's office showed that the meeting did not go in his favor.

Okebalam said the Minister should have known that he is nothing but a machinery in Buhari's government and not a stakeholder. His words,

"When I read the story that Kachikwu reported the GMD of NNPC to the president, I had a good laugh.What came to my mind is that the minister is a butterfly,mistaking himself for a bird.It means he does not recognize who he is in this government, that he is a machinery who can be dispensed off at any time. The story reminds me of an African shop keeper in London who saw a white boy stealing in the shop he is suppose to guard and caught him and reported him to the Police.

The white dominated British police were shocked that an African had the gut to arrest a white boy and report him to the police. So, instead of judging the case of stealing that was brought to them, they began by asking the black man to bring his papers that brought him to London. When they saw that the man did not have all his papers, they took him to immigration and deported him and the case was closed. So, Kachikwu reporting a member of the fiefdom to the fiefdom shows poor judgment because the fiefdom would always protect their own and throw the intruder to the cold."

According to him, if Kachikwu has integrity, he should throw in the towel and walk away before the cabal rubbish and throw him away. He said, the altercation has shown that Buhari's government thrives on hypocrisy, insubordination, recklessness and abuse of rule of law. Okebalam said it is to guard against this that his organization is clamoring for restructuring so that merit instead of mediocrity would become the guiding principle in the country.

The demand for the release of Comrade Belo Bature who has been in detention since August for criticizing Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State is becoming very loud. Bature a former Student Union leader has allegedly criticized the governor for seeking foreign loan while nothing was done with the billions of Naira Paris fund and other bailouts that his government has received from the federal government. For doing this, the governor allegedly ordered for his arrest for hate speech and since then he has been languishing in detention.

Jubril Auwal, former NANS Financial Secretary told Irukkanews correspondent in Katsina that their demand is that the governor should either release Bature or take him to court, According to him, the only offence that Bature has committed is telling the governor the truth He said the youths in the state are taking the detention very seriously because they feel that the governor is just clamping down on his strong political opponents to pave way for his re- election in 2019.

According to him, Bature had declared his intention to contest against the incumbent governor, adding that with his popularity as a student union leader, he would be a very big threat in the 2019 governorship election in Katsina state. He said the masses of the state feel that it is because of this that the governor decided to put him in the cooler.

"Comrade Bature is a victim of the dirty politics that is going on in Katsina State. I wonder when telling the truth becomes hate speech. Our state is in a mess. Nothing is going on. Even the president is embarrassed with the performance of the governor in the last two years. The governor without being told know that he has failed and if people like Bature should contest against him, he would lose, That is why he locked him up since August just to intimidate him.

So we, the youths in Katsina are calling on the governor to free him or take him to court. Even if he was arrested for hate speech, it is not a treasonable offence that does not warrant bail" Auwal said
Contributing a People's Democratic Party Chieftain in the state, Idris Gidado said that the people of Katsina are already nostalgic about the PDP administration under Governor Shema. According to him, those that voted for change in the state and in the country have seen that it was mis-governance that they voted for. He said all the progress that the PDP made in the state has been reversed by the Masari led APC government in the state. According to him, Bature is a prisoner of conscience. He said the governor has no moral ground to seek foreign loan while nobody saw what he did with the Paris fund and the federal government bailout

Furthermore, he said that the people of Katsina are now wiser, adding that in the last general election, they voted with their heart instead of their head. His words,

" It is very unfortunate what we are now seeing in Katsina state.If you say the truth to government, they would say that it is hate speech. Governor Masari recieved billions of Naira Paris fund as well as the bailout from the federal government. We have not seen anything that he has used the money to do and now he is seeking another foreign loan and he is expecting us to close our mouths like fools. My advice to him is that he should build more prisons because we will not keep quiet and watch him mortgage the future of unborn children with loans.It will not happen."

Anambra Ritual Murder Update: Family Of Victim Petitions Inspector General Of Police


The family of Chidera Ezeanya, the 16 year-old victim of the gruesome ritual killing that happened last week October 1st in Anambra state has sent a strong worded petition to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over the murder of their son by one Ifeanyi Okpoko in Eziowelle, Idemili north local government area of Anambra State.

The petition which was exclusively obtained by irukkanews and titled 'Petition Against Mr Ifeanyi Okpoko (Alias Anagwanti) And 7 Others For Conspiracy, Kidnapping And Ritual Murder of Late Chidera Ezeanya' was sent to the Inspector General of Police, Force Headquarters, Edet House, Abuja stated that at about 2am on Sunday night of October 1st 2017, one Ifeanyi Okpoko in company of some hardened criminals forcefully entered into the family house of late Chief Francis Ekwunife at Umunnama Village, Eziowelle, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State broke the door, kidnapped Chidera Ezeanya and whisked him away to an unknown destination,where he was cruelly murdered and some vital organs in his body taken away.

The petition went on to state that the ensuing search by the family members revealed that Ifeanyi Okpoko planned and executed the dastardly act with the members of his gang who have been terrorizing Ogidi and its environs.

"It was further discovered that their victim (Chidera) was taken to Ifeanyi Okpoko' s private house in Umunnama Village, Eziowelle, where he was sacrilegiously and inhumanly tortured to death by hanging for the purpose of rituals. The victim, late Chidera Ezeanya was mercilessly beaten to stupor while his two hands and two legs were tied together and was hanged upside down,which led to streams of blood running out from his ears and nostrils until he died. Late Chidera Ezeanya was only 16 years old," the petition read in part.

Continuing, the petition stated that further investigation and other information from the villagers revealed that Ifeanyi Okpoko was a terror, kidnap kingpin and a ritualist and that prior to this ugly incident, he has been involved in other heinous, cruel and dastardly acts.

"In the instant case, the circumstantial evidence going by the attached photograph of the scene of the inhuman torture of the victim by Ifeanyi Okpoko as visibly shown on the background carrying out the wicked act is cogent and compelling as to lead irresistibly to the conclusion that Ifeanyi Okpoko abducted and tortured his victim to death. Available facts reveal that Human beings are inviolable. Every human being shall be entitled to respect for his life and integrity of his person. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his right to live.

Therefore, our questions over this issues are: Whether every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in the execution of the sentence of a court in respect of a criminal offense of which he has been found guilty in Nigeria. Whether every individual is entitled to respect for the dignity of his person? Be that as it may, if the answers to these questions are in the affirmative, therefore, it is against the above unfortunate background that we have our client's instruction to request your good office to assist in this matter and ensure that justice is done" the petition concludes

Dance champion, Isaac Chinagorom, has lamented the conduct of music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido. Recently Davido and his crew made headlines after they were "fingered" in the death of a certain youngman identified as Tagbo at a party in Lagos, among other controversies.

Chinagorom, who won the world disco competition in London in 1984 said that if the music star did not retrace his steps, he may not last long in the music scene. According to him ,in recent times, Davido has been in the news for the wrong reasons. He said if Davido thought that was the way to attract publicity and become popular, then he is making a very big mistake. Furthermore, he said Davido should know that as a music star, he is a role model to a lot of young ones who are looking up to him for direction.

“I don’t really know what is wrong with Davido. If it is youthful exuberance then he should try to control it because it is going out of hand .When I became the world disco champion, I was only 16 years old. Then, dancers from more than 85 countries came to London for the competition and I won, but I did not allow it to get into my head. So, I don’t know why he cannot control himself.

All we are hearing about him is from one negative news to another. It was not up to one week that we heard that his police escort was shooting in the air, under his instruction just to announce to people that he was around, and now it is the death of Tagbo his bosom friend at a party. Before the shooting, it was a tweet that his father would buy all the land in Igbo land which he later denied.

The question most people are asking now is, 'is he the only young artiste in Nigeria?' The reality is, if continues this way, he would not last long."

Chinagorom also used the opportunity to advise other artistes to try as much as possible to be of good conduct. According to him, Africa is not America and as such they should always try to project the values which Africans are known for. He said the attempt by some Nigerian artistes to emulate the 'gangsta' life of American music would not help them in their career.

“Killing, drugs, violence and breaking laws don’t make anybody popular. What makes you popular, what attracts you to people is your creativity, the quality of your music. As African artistes, our selling point should be our level headedness, our originality, West side and East side kind of life is not allowed in our country, because it is not our culture. We don’t engage in violence, just to make ourselves popular. So, Davido should be advised to retrace his steps before it is too late. ” Chinagorom said.

A metal fabricator in Anambra State, Ifeanyi Okpoko popularly known as Anagwanti has been arrested by the Ogidi Police on suspicion of ritual murder. Okpoko who hails from Umunnaama, Eziowelle town in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State was accused of abducting one 16 years old boy, Chidera Ezeanya from Late Chief Francis Ekwunife's compound in Eziowelle on Sunday, October1st ,2017. He allegedly tied and hung him on a hand-crane and by the time Chidera's dead body was discovered the next day by the youths in the village, some vital organs were missing from his body.

An eye witness, Chukwudi Okafor said the deceased, Chidera, was in his compound playing on that fateful afternoon with his age mates when Ifeanyi Okpoko called him, according to him, Chidera's play mates including himself, had thought that the man wanted to send him on an errand since all of them are from the same Umunnaama village. He said when they waited till night without seeing him, they went to their various houses. According to him, the next morning being Monday October 2, when they learnt that Chidera had not come back, they all went to Ifeanyi Okpoko's house in search of him, only to see find tied and hung on a hand-crane. He said;

"We shouted and ran out to call elderly people in the village but before we came back, Okpoko had untied the body, put it in his car and drove out of his compound..It was later that we heard that his body had been deposited at a mortuary in Ogidi.

An octogenarian, Pa Ezekiel Uzomah who expressed shock said that what Okpoko did was an abomination. According to him, the youths had wanted to burn the suspect's house but they were restrained from taking laws into their hands. However, he said the village has tied palm frond around Okpoko's house as a sign of ostracization. Pa Uzomah made us to understand that according to their rule, they don't bring police into issues in their village. But he said the gruesome murder of Chidera by his own kinsmen is beyond the village and prayed that justice should be serviced for the slain boy.

NGO Regulatory Bill: FG Wants To Gag NGOs/CSOs Before 2019 Election - Rights Monitoring Group



The Rights Monitoring Group, a coalition of 45 civil society groups has described the NGO Regulatory Bill currently before the National Assembly as draconian. Speaking in an interview with irukkanews, it's National Coordinator,Comrade Olufemi Aduwo said the federal government by that bill want to cow civil society groups from performing their roles which is primarily to put government, its agencies and departments on their toes.

According to him,the plan by the APC led federal government is to try to delist Non Governmental Organizations and Civil Society groups that it is not comfortable with. However, he said such plan would not work as no NGO or CSO that knows it's onion would allow government to deter it from performing it's statutory role. He said regulating NGO/CSO has never worked in anywhere in the world,adding that Nigeria would not be the exception. He said that the present democracy in the country was the handwork of CSOs who defied the military government .

"In 2015,the All Progressives Congress deceived Nigerians into believing that President Muhammadu Buhari has become a democrat,that he has dropped his military mentality.A lot of people believed them ,forgetting that a leopard can hardly change its complexion..But today,what are we seeing in the country.Every place has become militarized.Even the military is now doing the job of the Police.We can use what happened in Abia state as a typical example.What happened there was nothing but a civil case which did not require military intervention but because we have returned to military government,Army was drafted to the state and now the whole thing has backfired.The international community is now laughing at us over our attempt to defend the indefensible.What this government should know is that we are now in Internet age and anything that happens goes viral,no matter how hard we try to cover it" He said

According to him,the main objective of the proposed NGO regulatory bill could be to gag Nigerians before the 2019 presidential election. However,he said the attempt would fail ,even if government proscribe all the NGOs/CSOs in the country. Aduwo called on all the NGOs in the country to remain steadfast in their commitment to the country. According to him, if they allow themselves to be regulated by government,it means their integrity would come to question. His words,

"The bill said that the NGOs would be subject to re-registration every two years.How can you criticize a government ,department or agency for corruption or wrong doing and go back to them for registration after two years?What the bill simply want to do is to make all the NGOs and CSOs in the country their mouthpiece,that is ,it is either you speak good of them or you would not be registered."

The chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,Africa,Chief Oliver Akubueze has said that those clamouring for a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2019,should perish the thought. Akubueze who is also the president of Southeast, Southeast United Assembly (SESSUA), told irukkanews that the north should be allowed to complete their tenure of eight years.

According to him,the clamour for a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction is weighty but it should be pursued with reason and not emotion. He said the gross marginalization of the Igbo is one of the reasons for the agitations in the Country,adding that it would not die down until justice and equity become the norm in the country. However,he said the Igbo should exercise patience until the north completes their two terms so that they would have justifiable reason to clamour for their own turn.
He said those who are clamouring for Igbo presidency should know that Igbos alone cannot produce the president of the country.

Furthermore,he said the other geo-political zones must be convinced to be part of the project. He said because of this,Igbo have to wait for when the time is ripe.

"The demand for a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction is germaine.It is a very weighty demand .It is a demand for justice,equity and fairness.However,with every sense of responsibility,I want to say that 2019 is not ripe for it.We must be strategic in our demand.The constitution says two terms and the north is currently exercising their first term .So,I want us to exercise a little patience .The ripe time for us is 2023.A saying has it that who wants to go to equity must go with clean hands.When the time comes,we would have more people on our side than against us".

He said the Igbos should also that political power is taken and not given. According to him,Igbos should start by coming together . He said the first step towards having a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction is for them to begin to speak with one voice. According to him,when the other components parts of the country see that Igbos have come together and speaking with one voice,they would ally and all hands would be on deck for the project to come true.

Nigerians have described President Muhammadu Buhari`s so called achievements in the last two years of his presidency as nothing but bundle of lies. A cross section of Nigerians who spoke with irukkanews were unanimous in their opinion that the president's two years in office has been a colossal failure. They said rather than move the country forward as he promised during his campaign, he has taken it twenty years backwards.

According to them, all the campaign promises of President Buhari, not even one has been fulfilled.
They listed unaffordability of basic food items ,lack of security ,high exchange rate ,continued missing of chibok girls and lack of infrastructural development as the areas Buhari`s administration has failed woefully. An engineer, Ayodele Busari told irukkanews that his prayer is that President Buhari should at least return the prices of goods and services to what they were in 2015 when he became president. According to him, all the APC led federal government is doing is publishing figures that does not translate into reality.

He said Buhari promised to make one Naira exchange for one dollar if elected, adding that he has been elected but instead of one Naira exchanging for one dollar, it is now exchanging for N380 per dollar.
According to him, because of the astronomical exchange rate, the prices of imported goods as well as airfares to foreign countries have remained unaffordable. His words,

"the reality is that Buhari`s administration has done far more harm than good to Nigerians .His two years in office has been a colossal failure .He has only succeeded in inflicting hardship ,pains and sorrow on Nigerians .Because of the weak Naira ,Nigerians can no longer travel out of the country for business ,vacation or even for treatment and a lot of people who would have been treated abroad have died .Even those who have children and wards in foreign universities can no longer afford their school fees and many of them have been forced to return to Nigeria

Contributing, a security expert, Innocent Njoku said president Buhari has failed woefully in managing security of the country. According to him, Buhari has made defeat of Boko Haram a campaign issue.
However, he said the terrorist group that he promised to defeat within two months after his election is still very much around ,killing and maiming people.

He said Boko Haram has even killed more people under Buhari administration than they did under Jonathan`s presidency. According to him, rather than ensure that peace reigns ,the president is busy escalating tensions all over the country as a result of his vengeful and divisive style of governance.
Njoku described the designation of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, as a terrorist organization as a very big low on his administration. According to him, having two organizations designated terrorist groups in a country would not in any way help the image of such country in the international community. He also counted the continued missing of a greater number of the Chibok girls who Buhari also made an election issue and promised to rescue as another failure on the part of the president.


Also contributing a teacher, Mrs Fatima Folarin said the prices of basic commodities in the market have not shown that Nigeria has exited recession. According to her, the prices of rice, garri ,beans ,tomato ,onions and other food stuffs have remained out of the reach of average Nigerians. Her words,

"It is shameful for Buhari to say that he has made achievements in his two years in office .The reality is that Nigeria is now far worse than when he came on board in 2015.A paint of garri that was selling for N250 in 2015 is today selling for N800.A bag of rice that was selling for N8000 in 2015 is today selling for N18,000.We were buying fuel for N97 per liter in 2015 and today it is N145 per liter. Naira was exchanging for N160 for one dollar in 2015 and today it is exchanging for N370 per dollar, so what are the achievements? Nigerians would even be happier if he can at least return the country to what it was under president Goodluck Jonathan and leave for good .Today ,a lot of families are going to bed without food .They cannot afford house rent and school fees for their children ,so what are the achievements he is talking about ,shame ,shame and shame ”.She fumed

Obiano`S N20m Choose-Your-Project Fund, An Innovation In Good Governance - Okogbuo


The Deputy National Chairman(South),of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA),Chief Uchenna Okogbuo has described Governor Willie Obiano`s N20 Million Choose-Your-Project fund as innovation in good governance, According to him, it is an exercise that is very worthy of emulation by leaders in the three tiers of government.

He said with the project ,the governor has been able to reach the nooks and crannies of the state. Okogbuo said what made the project unique is that it has eliminated cing projects that are irrelevant in the communities. According to him ,the choose-your-project exercise has also ensured transparency in using of fund since nobody in a community is le7 in the dark concerning the fund.He said in some other states ,giving money to traditional rulers and leadership of the town unions was seen as delivering dividends of governance.However ,he said Governor Willie Obiano has given a blue print for rural development

I know of some states where the governors idea of delivering the dividends of democracy is every month ,once they get the federal allocation the presidents of the town unions and their traditional rulers would go to the government house and would be given big envelopes of money as pocket money .The governors feel that once they are in the good books of these presidents of town unions and traditional rulers ,their re-election are assured, but Governor Obiano has with the choose your project fund ,taken governance to the masses .

Why US And EU Will Never Recognize IPOB As A Terrorist Organization -Ilonze, London Based Security Expert


A coalition of hurriedly assembled civil society group in the payroll of the federal government yesterday went to the American Embassy in Abuja to protest over the non recognition of the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as a terrorist organization

The group which goes under the name of Stand Up for Peace Movement demonstrated in words and actions that they were recruited by government said they found it absurd that the government of the United States would disagree with the decision of the federal government of Nigeria to label IPOB a terrorist organization.

However a United Kingdom based security expert, Hyman Ilonze has given reasons why the United States and the European Union would never recognize the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra(IPOB),

Ilonze who is the president of Euroguard Securities UK , said that the activities of IPOB has not been in any way linked to the features of a terrorist organization.

According to him because of this,, declaring IPOB a terrorist group is the most disingenuous way of giving a dog a bad name with the intention of hanging it.

He said there are about 10 features of a terrorist organization, adding that before a group is designated a terrorist organization, it must manifest some, if not most of the features. His words, Nigerian federal government cannot stampede the United States or the European Union to recognized IPOB as a terrorist organization because from the security point of view it is not. The features of a terrorist organization are as follows, it must commit offences against the human person which can cause death or serious injury. It must engage in massive destruction on a large scale of public property, public infrastructure, transportation system, fixed continental platforms, private property, thus risking lives of people. It must engage in hijacking of aircrafts, ships or other means of transportation.

The group must engage in producing g ,storing ,buying ,transporting or trading in explosives, fire arms, biological, chemical and nuclear weapon, and in research in the production of the above mass destruction weapons.

The other features of a terrorist organization are it must engage in distributing environmentally hazardous substances which cause fire, floods, explosions, all with the intent to endanger the lives of persons, or cause serious financial damage, it must be causing seizure of water, electricity or other relevant sources of energy, it must be operating from camps, forests, caves and other secluded areas. it must engage in kidnapping, maiming, raping, bombing and destroying public properties, among other heinous crimes. It must be usually not amenable to peaceful negotiations. Lastly it must be intimidating and over a wing government and the e tire nation.".

According to him, IPOB has not been linked in any way or manner with any of the features above.

IPOB is a known group of protesters who are involved in peaceful agitation for self determination and calling for referendum.

He said with the above self evident truth, there is no way the United States or the European Union can designate such an organization a terrorist organization no matter how hard Nigerian government tries to blackmail them to do so.

The crisis rocking Nigeria's talented musical group Psquare who are actually twin brothers seem to be far from over going by this latest post by one of the twin, Peter on his Instagram handle in reaction to Paul's tweet about his shows.

Since news of the shocking split, The twin brothers have taken on new identities, with Peter calling himself 'Mr. P' and Paul going by the name 'Rudeboy' and in a way to prove to his fans and the world that he is doing better after the split, Peter has continually teased his fans with numerous show appearances he has been billed for which technically means that he is doing well for himself despite the split and his career is progressing.

His Twin brother Paul in reaction to the various tags he gets on his brother's page begged his fans to stop tagging him in 'restaurant or beer parlor appearance' in America and informed his fans that he was in Nigeria. The tweet comes off as a shade to his brother, Peter's shows in US.

In order to give the impression that the All Progressives Alliance (APC),is on ground in Abia State, the few members of the party in Abia State who are mainly disgruntled and frustrated elements from the People's Democratic Party has set up a committee to go around the state and its surrounding, especially Imo to rent crowds for their proposed mega rally in October.

Irukkanews.com authoritatively gathered that the chairman of the committee is Chief Uche Akwukwaegbu popularly known as Bawas ,a petroleum products dealer based in Umuahia.

According to the terms of reference of the committee, they are to ensure that the yet to be determined venue of the rally would be filled with people. Some money bags in the APC, which include former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Dr Uche Ogah and others are to make sure that funds would be made available for the renting of the crowd and hosting of the rally.

The committee members are to hire buses that would bring the crowd from different parts of the state and beyond. to the venue.

In order to avoid the embarrassment that happened when some politicians rented crowds to pray for President Buhari at the Eagles Square Abuja and at the end of the prayer the crowd began to fight over money, the committee was told that they would be giving the people what would be due for them as they board the buses.

The money to be given to each and every one of them is yet to be determined. However, majority of the committee were of the view that going by the unpopularity of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC led federal government in Abia State, it is only something enticing that can draw the crowd out.

They said the anger and resentment were heightened by the on-going operation Python dance in the south east of which the military has killed a lot of Abia youths.

A member of the committee told Irukkanews that it is because of the uncertainty of the behavior of the people that no date has been fixed for the rally.

According to him, they know that there is a lot of anger and resentment against the APC in Abia State, especially with the on-going operation Python dance which is largely perceived in the south east as ethnic cleansing.

He said going by the popularity of Nnamdi Kanu who is from Abia state, getting people to attend the rally would be very difficult.

However, he said with the hunger in the land they are sure of getting the people that would fill the venue so that they would not be disgraced.

He said everything is still on the drawing board, adding that it is when the intelligence committee submit their report that they would know whether the rally would hold or not because at the moment the odds are against them.

Irukkanews gathered that the chairman of the committee, Chief Akwakwaegbu who deals on petroleum products until he fell out with the PDP in Abia state was the main supplier of petroleum products to Abia State government house in Umuahia for the whole eight years, Chief Theodore Orji was in office as the governor.

However, crack began to develop between him and the state governor, Chinedu Orji, the son of the governor began to nurse the ambition of going to the Abia State House house of Assembly, the office, Chief Akwa kwaegbu's wife has occupied for eight years.

Since Theodore Orji and Akwa kwaegbu hail from the same constituency in Umuahia North Local government Area,Akwakwaegbu knew that his wife's office was under threat and he kicked to no avail.

He also complained to those close to him of about some hundreds of millions of Naira owed to him by the Abia state government which governor Okezie Ikpeazu refused to pay. Because of all that, when the Election tribunal gave Dr Uche Ogah the victory for Abia state governorship election, he joined Uche Ogah with the hope that he was the next governor of the state. When that did not work out, he joined Orji Uzor Kalu to declare for APC.

Dr Uche Ogah ran for the governorship primary in Abia State and failed. He was advised to go to court on the ground that there were irregularities in the tax clearance form of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. He bought the idea and went to court and lost at the Appeal and Supreme Court and because a lot of members of the PDP stood with governor Ikpeazu when the case was raging, he began to feel like fish out of the water in PDP and every know that his next destination would be APC.

The Arewa Youths Council (AYC) has given the Katsina state government Aminu Bello Masari 48 hours to either release a former student union leader, Ibrahim Bature who is currently in detention for alleged hate speech or take him to court.

In a statement signed by its president Comrade Bello Balo and copy made available to irukkanews,they warned failure to do this the governor would risk the collapse of all activities in the state as they are ready to mobilize their armless battalion to Katsina state within the time frame for show down with government
Comrade Ibrahim Bature Dutsenma was alleged arrested by the state government over the comment he made about the governor seeking foreign loan.

The youths said because of this,the state government obtained a court order arrest and remind him sine die in prison yard. According to them,the action is nothing but callous. abuse of fundamental human right and upturning the rule of law. They said It is a move to kill democracy in Nigeria which all lovers of justice and freedom must condemn,adding that it therefore requires our collective solidarity to speak the truth to the power that be.

Ibrahim Bature a former student union leader from university of Maiduguri who holds masters of science degree with specialisation in animal physiology from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and launched his gubernatorial aspiration for 2019 in June this year which was tagged 'time for the youths'

Commenting on the matter, Comrade Mohammed Auwal Jibrin a former NANS leader and a member of youth mobilisation committee to former President Jonathan 2015 presidential campaign organisations described the act as a show of shame to democracy and freedom of speech entrenched in chapter four of the constitution of the federal republic of nigeria.

Speaking further,he said" I think the attitude of the governor sound like child play,as a chief executive of a state who need to promote the enforcement of the law .If this is not stopped other state governor's may want start doing the same to those opposing them for political reasons..
He also said that governor Masari plans to obtain a loan despite all the allocation received from the Federation account including the bailout as well as the paris club refund paid to the state in two trenches amounting to billions of naira but was not properly utililize when compare with how the state was developed by the immediate past administration of Ibrahim Shema.
