Hey!  Either the original author is smoking the good s#*t or there is something to this.  As they say, there is nothing new under the sun.

Anything is possible, but I never heard this before.

We must look at it further:
1) We need Katsumoto, Kilode, Aigbofa and any of our Yoruba/Nigeria historians;
2) I will be talking to my Awori mom in a couple of hours; will ask her if she ever heard that the Ijaw/Ijo people settled Eko.

I don't mind at all.  We are all one.
Why should the ACN field an Igbo candidate?
Because it is a national party, not a Yoruba or SW party. At the moment its core support is in the SW region, but there is nothing stopping ACN from spreading its appeal to other regions.  I'm sure its leaders understand that, and will continue to work towards that goal.

Personally, I'd love to see an Igbo president within the next 5 years - the sooner the better.  It will unify the country, help heal old wounds and shut the door on the civil war for good.  A truly unified Nigeria is better able to fulfill her role (really, her destiny) as the leader in Africa.

If English is what we use to judge who should be president, Nuhu Ribadu cant be president of Nigeria. Nuhu Ribadu can not speak english. I am nigerian. I cant even understand what Nuhu ribadu is saying when I listen to him. So imagine what people like Obama will go through. Obama may need an interpreter. Or are they going to allow Nuhu Ribadu to speak hausa to Obama.

Look if Obama listen to this video. He need an interpreter to understand nuhu Ribadu.

"Encouraged"?  I don't believe suicide is encouraged in any society.  Even in the very rare circumstances/cultures where it is acceptable, it usually has to do with "death before dishonour."  For example, Yoruba kings are, in some cases, expected to choose suicide instead of exile or capture.

PS: I later noticed you probably were being facetious, with respect to the OP.  Never mind.

Jenifa was just kidding around, I'm sure.  The girl didn't look that young.  She could have been anywhere from mid-teens to 20's.  I have a 28-year old cousin who looks that young.  Post her picture again if you want.  Maybe I forgot.

So, I'm doing the D.J.'ing for the previously unannounced party.

I like this song.  Ignore the video; just listen (and dance). Great debut album from the Canadian vocalist, about 6-7 years ago.

P.S. I just wanted to add that, I've always seen a similarity between early rap and Yoruba and other African traditional praise-singing.  Others have made the connection, so you may even have the same view.  For me, I just see how the early rappers stand in front of a crowd, battle with other rappers, praising themselves, boasting, all the braggadocio, the rhyming, and compare it to the Griots, or the person you hire to say your oriki - I forget what they're called in Yoruba.  Music historians probably have differing view and can back up their theories intellectually.  For me, it's almost primal - instinctive - when I watch them, I'm thinking: "this is (an extension of) Yoruba/African culture."
