Traditionally, Ogoniland is divided into the five kingdoms of Babbe, Gokana, Ken-Khana, Nyo-Khana, and Tai. The Ogoni speak the related, mutually intelligible languages of Khana, Gokana, Tae (Tẹẹ), Eleme, and Ban Ogoi[2] part of the linguistic diversity of the Niger Delta. According to oral tradition, the Ogoni people migrated from ancient Ghana down to the Atlantic coast eventually making their way over to the eastern Niger Delta. Linguistic calculations done by Kay Williams place the Ogoni in the Niger Delta since before 15 BC, making them one of the oldest settlers in the eastern Niger Delta region. Radiocarbon dating taken from sites around Ogoniland and the neighboring communities oral traditions also support this claim. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogoni_people |

ROSSIKE: Great step. In the next year or two, you would start to view the hardcore christians and muslims as little children under a spell. Your knowledge and enlightenment level would make you gasp in disbelief at the ideas you once held dear, such as a vengeful God, hellfire, other religions being 'evil' etc etc. In fact you would see the world very very differently. I wish you the best in your journey of (re)discovery.Rossike, Please, if you don't mind answering, are you an atheist or an African traditionalist? |
engineerd: I don't really have hope in the super eagles....the team seems incoherent! With the world cup around the corner, i don't think they will go far even if they qualify....Super Eagles are very good at disappointing!!! ![]() |
Too late for prayers; they have to let their legs do the deed. I wish they stay healthy between now and Saturday, and we qualify and get to the semi-final. . . and . . .! |
dasparrow: @PostWe'll be too busy celebrating our WC2014 qualification to have time to throw stones at anyone, least of all the losers. . . our victims. ![]() haibe: lol abeg let's just leave them so after winning them fifa won't ban us. let their trashing be our revenge, it will be more painful.Yup! ![]() Plus, the stoning was an isolated incident. |
abelmovic1: Na on 16 he go knw say eagles dey make person loose confidence ![]() Really? 16 goals for Naijiriya? ![]() |
SportsHubng: http://www.punchng.com/sports/nigeria-can-win-world-cup-keshi/The headline is meant to grab attention, but what he really said while answering a bunch of other questions posed to him is, “Nothing is impossible in football; we can win the trophy in Brazil but the immediate task at hand is to qualify first for the World Cup." What do people expect him to say? "Chei! We won't win the World Cup. Why even bother playing the Ethiops on Saturday? Let's just go back home o jare." ![]() On another note, so Keshi used to coach Mali? And Togo? Hmmm. |
Katsumoto: Are you for real?Where do you think I'm from? https://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/109.gif |
naijababe: Left to Isale, Anago is truly dead! ![]() So aayan is the same as oyàn? I hope you're happy, we're writing suggestive words now. ![]() I don't accept that I am deficient in my language. I only regret that you ara-okes outnumber me. You're using words we don't use in everyday Lagos convo. ![]() àyà is chest. oyàn is breast. Despite my initial post, which was meant to be taken in jest, I don't think aayan is iyan. But I don't think it's bosom either. ![]() |
left on Nairaland? What insolence! ![]() |
nitlad: RIP Yoruba Language. . . ![]() |
OAM4J: OMG!!! Aayan, in my language, is not bosom. So, I know that Asewo person was just trying to mess with me. I didn't want to call him a liar. I need to stop digging. ![]() |
OAM4J: ^its complaint thread na, not chat thread, don't join them to post off-topic before I ban your ass. I can't help it. I have some scores to settle sha. ![]() But, I'm done. For now. ![]() |
wonlasewonimi: Dobosky used his iragbiji dialect to say Oyan ogbufo.. that means Ogbufo's booobies. What is Ogbufo? Or, just tell me the accent marks? I'll make another attempt at translating. I'm not sure aayan is bosom. Nice try.P.S. Where is Debosky from? So many types of Yoobas in this place. No wonder I can't make heads or tails of what they're saying. Such bush people. ![]() |

Aww Shoot! Oga OranJuice, what'd I miss on the Complaints thread? You hid 4 recent posts! Yes, I don't have anything better to do. Tell me tell me. |
Oops! Sorry. Debosky wrote that. I just took a guess o jare. Google koo Gmail nii. ![]() How'd ya like me now? ![]() |
Here are former Lagos state governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his lovely wife, Oluremi Tinubu at their traditional wedding years (years, years) ago. And, below, look at them now. One a Senator, the other a (alleged) godfather. Time has been good to them.
www.nairaland.com/attachments/1413827_bola_jpg9054b47df6d2e9461e0d8064d7d387f5 The picture is not from 1967. It would make her in her mid-60s? No way! The style there is more 1980s. Even the glasses - as big as it is. ![]() |
naijababe: Roflmao!!!! Isale, come and write a translation for the bolded ![]() aayan ogbufo = Pounded yam from Ogbufo, probably somewhere in Ile-Ekiti. I know they love pounded yam die! ![]() |
Italiano1: And selective justice at its best:"Banned for derailing Complaints thread"? That is unfair! Is Mynd-44 gonna get banned for coming in here to admonish the posters in this section about how they conduct themselves? I don't advocate his banning, but let's be consistent. Simply hiding Eggheader's posts would have been sufficient. And I saw where Eggheader had requested the "debate" be moved to another, more private, area. I hope both he and Altruth received the same arbitrary punishment. ![]() Ola one: You're vexed. I shouldn't have backed Seun up, I know. Forgive me.hahahaha. Nope! I'm not vexed at all. After all, I previously told Seun to stop being a pú---. . ilugunboy: OAM4J has been here recently today.....I can see his footprints OAM4J would have deleted a whole lot more. His style is more of a wipeout. This seemed like selective chop chop cut. lol. Unless he's coming back to finish the job. |
GSKing: lols... you're in the ukBrrrrrr! It's very cold in Chicago. Some people are desperate to grab anything to warm up to. Hence the acceptance. ![]() |
Don't y'all get tired of e-fights?
Mynd, Are you still a mod? What section? Just curious. ![]() |
