We will play african team in the Aisha cup and qualifier for Awcon , a good place in FIFA ranking will land us in good group in the world cup
mostob:
FIFA ranking? I don't think that should be a priority now. Anyway, an African team and maybe an American or European team should be good. Why I am hammering on African team is because of the forthcoming AWCON

African team won't help us in fifa ranking

Toni will chop bench in Barcelona and we don't want that we need her to play every week to be inform for AWCON
Schemerkhiz:
Sure, Even Barcelona wanted Toni but still gave some good reasons why she considered staying out at Sevilla which included becoming the face of the team and a regular feature

Its different when an arm deal is involved
OneNigerianist:
We need more information. How are you saying he was "arrested" without mentioning interpol? Czechs republic can't arrest a UK citizen and hand him to Nigeria, I suppose.

The grassroots is the problem with training facilities even professional club in Nigeria don't have the necessary training facilities or equipment
elyte89:
What baffles me most is dt most of our players and oda African players are trained and coached under d same terrain with dier European/south american counterpart, yet dey can't replicate dis high level of organization when dey come back home to rep us as been shown in deir various clubs dereby making school boy errors, losing concentration @ dying minute, not converting deir dead balls situations etc abi shey dis oyinbo coaches dey reformat our players psyche b4 coming here to rep us sad

Add that to corrupt FA across the continent and the players don't trust which lead protest , Nigeria players refused to train for their match against france because of unpaid bonuses
realpoacher:
We can't defend against set pieces neither can we score them

We are quite poor tactically in football and most sports for that matter

The only thing we are good at is Jam-body football

African team still have the same problem at world level , we can't defend set piece especially a corner kick and we lose concentration in dying minutes , European teams tend to do better in that area

Is it true zambia have been pulled from the Olympics because of covid - 19
Schemerkhiz:
Banyana Banyana’s Netherlands trip called off
28 June 2021 – South Africa’s Senior National Women’s team (Banyana Banyana) trip to Netherlands has been called off after five of the travelling players tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, the entire delegation has been placed in isolation.

Banyana Banyana were scheduled to travel to Netherlands on Monday, 28 June 2021 and play the hosts on 3 July in Zwolle as part of their preparations for the CAF AWCON qualifiers scheduled for later this year.
Netherlands were to use the friendly international match to prepare for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics where they are favourites to win gold in the women football category.

Coach Desiree Ellis said while the cancellation of the trip was with heavy heart, people’s health and lives come first.

‘’This is a difficult time where we are in the middle of the third wave in our country, and unfortunately Banyana Banyana has not been spared from this pandemic. Due to positive cases in our camp, the full delegation has been put into isolation, and we will therefore not be able to honour the friendly fixture against the Netherlands,’’ said Ellis. “At this moment, of utmost importance is the health of everyone – both us and our opponents – and football takes second place.’’

Ellis thanked Netherlands for the invite and wished them well at the Olympics.

‘’Let me take this opportunity to thank Netherlands for the invite and also wish them all the best at the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games. To my fellow South Africans, please take extra care and caution out there – Covid-19 is real, let’s protect each other by wearing masks in public, keeping a safe distance and sanitizing all the time.’’
