BackDatAssUp: Tinubu was a drug dealer as well.
See how he has destroyed our democracy. And he got punished by the United States by having his assets that were linked to the drug trade forfeited. It's the law. Do not encourage disrespect of the law just because your sentiments won't let you see the effect a break down of law and order has on society. Just look at what it has done to your mentality. Shun crime and move towards order... or embrace anarchy when it inevitably comes knocking at your door. |

If the Governor was smart, instead of buying hungry mares that'll become malnourished and abused in less than 60days, why didn't he provide the police with a command center equipped with fingerprint capture capabilities--- linking up all the police stations and precincts in the state--- so that anyone arrested could be captured in its database so if they are skip court or commit another crime in the state(while under a previous court order) their identities/criminal records within the state could immediately be ascertained once in custody.
That way, criminals know there's no hiding place for them in the State and they would be forced to relocate thereby making his jurisdiction crime free or at least substantially less so.
That's how you stop crime instead of buying worthless horses that are really of no use.
I don't understand why it's so hard for people to use their heads when it comes to the simplest things. |

FreeGlobe: stop arguing nonsense here. The governor bought those horses for crowd control and to enhance security which he stated before now. Besides, the police in the state have not told you they are lacking cars for patrol. The governors action is commendable and its a popular practice elsewhere. He needs to add dogs to the mix. Everyone agrees the governor has done well so he needs to consolidate. If you have less information on something, do not be quick to come and talk trash. Ok, you're right, I agree. But, In 6months I'd really appreciate you telling us how many of those horses are still alive and haven't been eaten or sold. Also, please remember to give us figures of how many crimes were averted or solved due to your fine Arabian Stallions. |

BackDatAssUp: Antanov are operated commercially from Ukraine
Here is a link to the official Antanov site showing the contact address http://www.antonov.com/contacts
The Ukrainians and not the Russians operated this aircraft.
I can bet my last buck that the aircraft departed from somewhere in eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Hungry, Ukraine) and that it's original flight path would have been through Egypt but diplomatic pressure from Russia and Israel on getting the intel on the contents of this cargo forced the Egyptians to deny the cargo aircraft airspace clearance mid flight. The aircraft was then forced to reroute through the Mediterranean into Algeria given that the Libyan air space is shut down for civilian purpose.
The crew was then desperate for refueling and was then forced to request entry into Nigeria for that same purpose. Unknowing to them the Nigerian security outfits had been tipped off by the Russians and Israelis.
This is checkmate move from Putin on Obama. Whats this rubbish you wrote? |

When Ibos falsely blame the death and collapse of the country on other Nigerians, I usually smile and shake my head. I know those statements are either from young kids who have no idea what they're talking about, or people who are just plainly ignorant of the power structure in Nigeria. For example, ask them who ran Nigerian Airways to the ground after the then Head of State found out the racket that was being perpetuated--- for decades--- by political figures from the South East and all you'll get is silence.
All the tribes in Nigeria are responsible for running her aground. Ibos were never allowed to get to the top for a variety of reasons i.e Hierarchy, and distrust (Apparently, accusations were that Ibos in Government never learned how to "eat" with others instead they always cornered it all for themselves. E.G Nigerian Airways).
Anyway, the Nigerian power structure is so complex it's like talking to a brick wall trying to explain certain things to yall on here. Itll take forever. Only a few on here actually "understand" Nigeria, the rest are ignorant of the world they live in and only see everything as black and white.

I thought the Russians were your new best buddies, better than the "evil, jealous and wicked Americans that don't want Nigeria to rise"? Roflmao Alas, they are obviously selling weapons to both sides so they can kill themselves. Tomorrow, ignorant Nigerians will sing praises of Israel conveniently forgetting that the country hates blacks and won't hesitate to supply mercenaries and weapons to Boko Haram if the price is right.

Collynzo9: How does that poster indicate that she is actually campaigning for her husband? anyone can write anything and attach her picture to it. Let her come out and address the people let us hear her. Is she not the same daft woman that said she didn't know that suicide bombing was going on in Nigeria until they ''attacked'' her husband? First of all we don't know if she made the statement; considering how unreliable the Nigerian Press is. Second, lets assume that she was properly quoted, even I understand a lot of Nigerian Phrases and how it can sometimes deviate from the conventional english meaning. But a lot of you Jonathan supporters deceitfully pretend that "suddenly" you don't "understand" and then try to translate it into the literal meaning in english. You're not fooling anybody, you're just making yourselves look exactly like the lying deceits you are. When a Nigerian says " I DIDNT KNOW suicide bombing was HAPPENING in Nigeria", anyone that has lived long enough amongst Nigerians--- and that is not prone to self deceit--- knows that she doesn't really mean she's the only one on earth that doesn't know the havoc bombings have wrecked against innocent Nigerians all over the Northern part of the country. No, she just simply means she didn't realize how serious the terror was and (like most Nigerians that haven't been affected by the bombings) realization doesn't hit until it strikes close to home and affects you in one way or another. When a ordinary Nigerian says " I didn't know there was Armed robbery in Lagos until tonight" after just being robbed at gun point somewhere in the state, do you really want to tell me that you understand it to mean the person above was oblivious to the fact that Armed Robbery is a common occurrence not only in Lagos, but in almost all parts of the country? Or when you yell "Kill am!!!" when a striker of the team you support takes a powerful shot at goal during a soccer match, or, your team's defender attempts a hard tackle on the attacker of the opposing team... do you want to tell us you literally understand it to mean they actually want the players to commit murder on the pitch?! Stop taking Nigerians for fo*ols, stop lying to them by insulting their intelligence in attempts to brainwash the unenlightened ones. By the day, Nigerians are becoming aware of their rights. This is the same way you lot attempted to twist the "Dog and Baboon fight" euphemism. |

bushdoc9919: And you cleverly omitted this bit...(sauce)
but they are also employed in crowd control because of their mobile mass and height advantage and increasingly in the UK for crime prevention and high visibility policing roles. The added height and visibility that the horses give their riders allow officers to observe a wider area, but it also allows people in the wider area to see the officers, which helps deter crime and helps people find officers when they need them.[1] Mounted police may be employed for specialized duties ranging from patrol of parks and wilderne, football matches and demonstrations.ss areas, where police cars would be impractical or noisy, to riot duty, where the horse serves to intimidate those whom it is desired to disperse through its larger size, or may be sent in to detain trouble makers or offenders from the crowd. For example, in the UK, mounted police are most often seen at football matches, although they are also a common sight on the streets of many towns and cities as a visible police presence and crime deterrent during the day and night. Some mounted police units are trained in search and rescue due to the horse's ability to travel where vehicles cannot.
And from this article in the Nigerian Guardian....
Hope this helps. Are you ok? What the hell did I cleverly omit? I do not disagree that they are used for ceremonial duties, festivals or sporting events. What I said is that they are not used for everyday policing... unless maybe you live in Amish County. Nigerian Guardian?! Really?! Horses in which London or New York are used where vehicles cannot? You think those cities' roads are like Anambras that is a mixture of clay, tar and mud? You lot should learn to speak on what you know about. |

londoner: Well NY is not the only place that uses mounted police In London, they are used, and it is beyond just ceremony, they arealso used across Australia. No one is saying there should be no vehicles for the police, obviously there are in addition.
The governor is also not proposing that they should replace vehicles. He has already distributed the police vehicles back in April. Mounted police are to enhance security. I must say, I have been in places that were in fact calmed down by the presence of police on horseback. That is both in the UK and Australia.
My issue is not that he is introducing mounted police, my concern is whether there is actual training, facilities and policies in place for mounted police and police horses.
At the end of the day, if he introduces dogs now, people will shout as if the use of dogs in policing, security have not proved useful elsewhere.
There are many things a car can do, but it cant give you the vantage point that a horse can. Both working together is better than just one alone, in my opinion. Absolutely not true! Again you're speaking on something you know nothing about. How many times have you seen policemen on horses patrolling the cities of London outside of Trafalgar Sqr and other tourist filled areas? What about the inner cities of Melbourne? What about Sydney or Adelaide? The Governor fumbled, period. |

Take a look at the list of mountedcpolice worldwide
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mounted_police_units
I think Nigerians are far too obsessed with all things shiney. Why do you clowns come online and just spill nonsense to your readers? As big as New York City is, Mounted police can only be found within a two block radius in Time Square and they are only there for ceremonial and picturesque reasons (like my last post stated). Act crazy and you'll see Power Bikes and Crown Victorias come at your from every angle you can imagine. The Governor pulled a silly move, and I think this goes to show the level of thinking of the person in charge of the state. |

[i]Mounted police are police who patrol on horseback (equestrians) or camelback. They continue to serve in remote areas and in metropolitan areas where their day-to-day function may be picturesque or ceremonial,

Then, he'll decline to run and leave the country for a little period. This is a book we've all read and know the ending. He'll lose the election, be probed, then disgraced and jailed. or He'll "win", but end up losing his life either through a coup, Boko Haram, or when he returns to the Niger-Delta in the inevitable struggle for power that is sure to ensue in the Eastern Region when Civil war eventually breaks out all over Nigeria. |

There is a mosque close to my house. We all noticed how the imam packs so many hausa guys in d mosque. They sleep there. The landlords in d area held a meeting and then went to meet the imam and asked him if he knows this people he is harbouring .imam said no that because they are muslims he accepted them to be staying in d mosque and they are all from the north. He was duly informed that he should take note of them very well. That he might be harbouring a boko haram member and if police should come, he will also be arrested.
I think any area that has high concentration of Muslims especially hausas should be very vigilant and please nobody should insult me of being bias or bigotry.
