Politics › Re: Is Corruption Our Biggest Problem In Nigeria Or Not??? by ITbomb(m): 10:41am On Feb 11, 2018 |
3 problems listed here
Corruption Tribalism Bad Leadership
All these strive in a system where accountability and justice process is poor
The basic truth is that applying the same justice system and unitary hierarchy to millions of people of different cultural setup is almost impossible
America understood this and decentralized the justice system.
The only solution to Nigeria problems is restructuring or strictly devolution of powers to the states
In that arrangement, we can more effectively hold our local leaders to account Take for instance Kogi, the governor doesn't care about the people because he knows Abuja can secure his job.
Cut that undue Abuja advantage and you see the people empowered to tackle the issues of Tribalism, Corruption and bad leadership locally
For the last comment, we don't need powerful leaders, we need powerful efficient institutions, and this can only be guaranteed if there is true power at the state or region level |

Politics › Most Radio Stations Refuse To Broadcast President’s Speech by ITbomb(op): 7:24am On Oct 01, 2017 |
I think this year's independence is the biggest low
The nonchalant attitude of Nigerians to independence day celebration is now being obvious. Individually, many have been ignoring the colors or Nigeria theme but now it seems the corporate world is also not interested.
Banks are not dressing the colors, radio stations are not broadcasting the President’s independence speech, only radio Nigeria and some state radios. Lesser party and talk shows to celebrate Nigeria Apart from government facilities which some contractors are just using the decorations to make money, private business and homes don't have any green decorations
I remember when we use to struggle to buy the green white green hand flag, today no one is interested even if it is free except they are being paid at least 2k to hold it while the governor passes
It is really pathetic. Nigeria is no longer worth dying for |

Like the other guy said, fix your category, fix your menu
You are not big enough to be telling users the kind of browser to be using. I see from your url that your target traffic is Nigeria, if you have been looking at analytics, you will know that majority of traffic comes from opera mini.
No matter how sleek your design is on desktop or chrome, if the mobile experience on opera mini and UC is poor, you have done nothing
However, viewing from desktop, you have done a great job |

In Nigeria all you see are rented crowd, government SUV with security everywhere and pictures of politicians on stage spewing out rubbish they won't even remember the next day |

Politics › Re: What Is Restructuring? by ITbomb(m): 6:33am On Sep 30, 2017 |
dayo2me: ITbomb is restructuring the same as true federalism? An apt answer will be, "let's restructure so that true federalism can work". It is just a means to achieve true federalism since we couldn't have it under the present arrangement |
Politics › Re: What Is Restructuring? by ITbomb(m): 2:13pm On Sep 29, 2017 |
dayo2me: Wow! ITbomb thank you.
Basically, restructuring is to render the central authority powerless by giving each component the needed autonomy or power to generate funds and use that fund to develop itself(component)? No, not powerless In US, the states generate funds and develop themselves yet the center is still powerful |
Politics › Re: What Is Restructuring? by ITbomb(m): 12:32pm On Sep 29, 2017 |
dayo2me: What restructuring is? Restructuring as far as the Nigerian federation is concern is to realign the federating component and redefine how power is shared between the center and the federating units. The restructuring that Nigeria needs is to devolve powers and responsibilities from the center to the federating units.
What do we stand to achieve as a country if it is being restructured? The current system where you earn more (get more allocation) by breeding more unproductive people (more population) is retrogressive. Restructuring will enable each component to earn more by being more productive while still enjoying support from the central government. The component will control their resources while still paying tax and some other form of development fund that will be access by the less earning components for a specific period of time.
Will it strengthen the tie that bind us together as a country? Yes, because, though each component will develop in its area of advantage, it will still depend on the other for other things Also, once State of Origin is abolished and state of residence adopted, an Igbo man being a commissioner in Ogun State will not want to separate from his root though his allegiance is Ogun. Also, the strength and pride of Nigeria in terms of defence is better in a unity Nigeria than some fragmented countries.
Why do some regions reject it and others see it right way at the right direction? The regions that rejects it are afraid of being fund-starved as they wholly depends on federal allocation. Years of getting rich by just allocating figures has created lazy elites who had already sacrifice productivity and meritocracy for nepotism. TO allay the fears, I would suggest the setting up of developmental funds for the economically disadvantaged states for a specific term as well as merging others for development of their resources.
I will care if you can do justice to these questions above. |
