The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu has felicitated with Nigerians on Christmas as they commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Prince Audu in a statement made available by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji on Sunday in Abuja urged Nigerians to reflect on the essence of Christmas, and make positive impacts that would be sustained beyond the festive period.

Audu also urged Nigerians to extend love to one another beyond every form of divide, remembering the less privileged, displaced persons, vulnerable groups, and those in humanitarian crisis.

He also admonished the Christian fold to use the opportunity of Christmas to pray for the peace, unity and development of Nigeria, the President and those at the helm of leadership.

“Christmas is a time of the year to reflect on the essence of the celebration which is the birth of Jesus Christ; to show love, and affection to one another. It is also a time to rededicate our commitments to Nigeria, humanity and nation building.

“It is equally important that we live and show acts of kindness that would make long lasting positive impacts even beyond the Christmas season.

“It is a season of Renewed Hope for Nigerians which can be seen in the various policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, just within a few months of assuming office as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. This certainly means, better days ahead for Nigerians.

“However, the President can not do it alone, and that is why it is very important that we commit ourselves to the vision of the Renewed Hope agenda so that together, we can achieve a better Nigeria.

The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu has engaged over 200 youths on Adhoc duties in industries, plants and agencies under the Federal Ministry of Steel Development across the country, according to Lizzy Okoji, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Steel Development.

This initiative Shuaibu says is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR of creating direct and indirect jobs, especially for the youths in the country.

Prince Audu said that the engaged youths would assist in various capacities in some of the steel plants as plans to revive the industry is underway with productions of iron rods in Ajaokuta Steel Plant to kickstart in full force as soon as possible.

“We have a lot of Human Resources in the country with great potentials and technical know how, and now is the time to engage as we are fully set to rolling out our steel plants again.

“I have had several engagements with prospective investors who have shown interest in reviving the various components of the moribund Ajaokuta Steel plant, Delta Steel Plant in Aladja, amongst other steel plants in the country.

“Reviving these plants means more hands on deck to help with the job. This again is in line with the vision of our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR of creating job opportunities, increasing local productions to boost Nigeria’s export capacities and industrializing Nigeria through the Steel Sector.

"Hopefully, when the window of employment opens, these young energetic Nigerians among others would be duly employed in line with the provisions and guidelines of the Federal Civil Service Commission," the media statement from the Minister's office further said.

Immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has called on Nigerians not to lose hope inspite of the ongoing economic challenges.

Mr Emmanuel, who gave this counsel as the guest lecturer at the Fifth Convocation Ceremony of the Mountain Top University, Prayer City, Ogun State, said Nigerians must challenge their minds to rise above the myriads of challenges facing the world today.

According to him, “the world we are living in today is characterized by very high pace and scale of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

“It is important to note that no nation is immune from the challenges of this present day.

“Many are losing hope because of the enormity of the unresolved issues being faced on daily basis. Many are filled with fear at the uncertainty of what the future holds.

“But hope is the one attribute we must never lose,” Mr Emmanuel advised.

The immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, charged students to take time out to have a vision for their lives, insisting that one must have a mental picture of what future he wants to create.

Speaking on the topic, OPTIMIZING YOUR POTENTIALS IN A CHALLENGING FUTURE, Mr Emmanuel said, “you can hold onto a vision of what is yet to come, you can boost your chances at achieving your dreams and being successful.”

He recounted how he conceptualized the idea of a state-owned airline for Akwa Ibom State,
even before assumption of office in 2015.

In addition to the Ibom airline which is presently considered one of the best in Africa, he recounted how he also followed his vision of transforming Akwa Ibom into a financial, economic and technological hub.

Highlighting that no one can progress beyond his mindset, Mr Emmanuel urged people to embrace a growth mindset, “accept that all you know about any particular subject matter is not all that exists and be open to engage with and accept superior information.

“Your life will ultimately be a representation of your belief system, your philosophies and your ideology. No one can make progress beyond his mindset.”

He cautioned the youths against mediocrity, explaining that being of moderate or low quality, value, ability, or performance will take no one far.

“Become a person known for excellence. The challenge of gender, racial, ethnic or whatever biases only count at the average quality level, when you become excellent at whatever you do, these biases become absolutely irrelevant.

“Excellence puts you above all biases. Be so good at what you do that you become almost indispensable”, Mr Emmanuel said.

Meanwhile management of Mountain Top University, Ogun State, has described the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel as a highly respected statesman, who does not play ‘do or die’ politics.

In his citation read by the University orator, Dr Chinyere Mbaka , the University lauded Mr Emmanuel on his leadership style of not interfering with the affairs of his State, since exiting office in May 2023.

“He has kept his promise to the people in Akwa Ibom, since handing over the affairs of the State into the hands of his successor, Pastor Umo Eno, and has assumed his rightful place as an Elder Statesman in the country.

The University commended Mr Emmanuel for his achievements during his tenure, especially in the areas of infrastructure, industrialization, healthcare and security.
In a convocation address, Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Elijah Ayolabi said 349 students were graduating out of which 36 had first class with two bagging doctoral degrees and 17 in the Masters degree cadre.

He thanked the Guest Lecturer Mr Emmanuel for graciously delivering the lecture at the convocation, admitting that it was very rewarding to the students.

The chancellor, Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya, said God enabled the university, in only eight years, to become a dynamic center of academic excellence and promised that, “we shall not relent in our efforts by the special Grace of God.”

Timi Frank urges Police, DSS to probe Wike, others over alleged killing of DPO, diversion of $300m, N9bn

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Sunday, called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, to urgently investigate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over alleged complicity in the murder of a Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Division in Rivers State, Bako Angbashim.

Angbashim, a Superintendent of Police, had led his men to raid criminal hideouts in the Odemude community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state on September 8, when a dreaded cult group led by Okpara ambushed them, opened fire and eventually captured Angbashim, decapitated his body and filmed their action.

His killing attracted nationwide condemnation with the police high command, the Federal and the Rivers State Governments ordering an investigation and immediate arrest of the suspects.

Frank made the call in a statement in Abuja while reacting to a claim by a member of the House of Representatives, Boma Goodhead, representing Asari-Toru Federal Constituency of Rivers State,
that Wike was complicit in the killing of the DPO.

Goodhead had at a protest rally in Rivers State in support of Governor Siminilaye Fubara, accused Wike and some federal lawmakers of masterminding the killing of the DPO.

She also claimed that the Governor of Rivers State had caused the diversion of $300million given by Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited meant for Ogoni cleanup and N9billion from the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of of the state.

According to Frank, the investigation has become necessary to determine the veracity or otherwise of the claims by Goodhead against Wike and two federal lawmakers from the state.

He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to set up a judicial panel of inquiry to unravel the killing of the DPO in order to ensure justice for the dead.

According to him, “If the President fails to take action or do the right thing, by arresting Wike and setting up a judicial panel of inquiry, I demand that every murder suspect in Nigeria that is already in prison or that is being tried should be set free.

“This is because nobody is above the law and we are all Nigerians. So we expect equal justice for all Nigerians.”

Frank also urged Wike to resign his position as minister and submit himself for probe over the alleged murder of the DPO and masterminding the diversion of $300million given by the NNPCL for Ogoni cleanup and another N9billion from the IGR of Rivers state.

He insisted that since Wike always claim to be a man of integrity, submitting himself to the security agencies like Goodhead had promised to do on the matter would further vindicate him.

He insisted that all federal lawmakers whose names were mentioned by Hon Goodhead in the killing must also be investigated.

He said: “The investigation must not be done in secret. It must be thorough and the findings made public because Hon Goodhead has offered to reveal further details when invited by any of the security agencies concerning the allegation.

“Justice must be given to the family of this police officer who was killed. This is not the time to protect or hide anybody.

“We are calling on the National Human Rights Commission and the International Criminal Court to take up this matter and invite the Honourable Member who made this allegation to hear her out and thereafter take up the case to ensure that Wike is held accountable for the death.”

He also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the alleged diversion of $300million from Rivers State’s IGR.

Andrew Enantomhen on Saturday expressed confidence that Edo guber aspirant, Asue Ighodalo will make a youth-friendly Governor.

“He was briefly stabilised before being rushed to the NNPC hospital in Abuja where he was wheeled into a special room on a stretcher,” one of the sources said.

“He has remained at the hospital.”

At the event, President Tinubu said the executive and legislative arms of government would jointly tackle the challenges confronting Nigeria.

Speaking at the colloquium on Thursday in Abuja, President Tinubu said the challenges facing the country will be jointly assessed by the executive and legislature to evolve implementable solutions for the good of Nigerians.

“Having Senate President Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honourable Abbas, on my side is enough for me to succeed, and we will succeed," a statement signed by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity quoted Tinubu as saying at the event.

On the other hand, Nitin and Chetan Sandesara, the two Indian fugitive brothers who own Sterling Oil and Energy Exploration and Sterling Global Oil Resources Limited have been carrying on illegal oil bunkering in the Niger Delta, using VLCC that can load up to 2million barrels of crude worth $164million at the current rate.
Indorama and the Sterling Group are looting Billions from Nigeria. And until a serious Government hold foreign businesses accountable, Nigeria would continue to lose revenues.

"From the 2023 Supplementary Budget of N2.27trillion recently signed by Bola Tinubu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, his Deputy, Benjamin Kalu and other leadership of the House of Reps are to share N4.5billion padded into that budget under different headings," Jackson Ude said on Monday.

In time past, Uzebu Community, Okaigben, Ewohimi, like most communities in Edo Central, suffered from severe water scarcity. Asue Ighodalo, through his foundation, the Jeremiah and Folayegbe Ighodalo Foundation, and in line with SDG Goal 6 which talks about Access to Clean water and Sanitation; constructed a 40,000 litre water project powered by a 22 KVA Generator to ensure access to a clean and regular source of water for the entire community.

Till date, the project is still serving the people and ameliorating the water situation in the community.

For Asue Ighodalo, leadership is a synonym for service. Asue Ighodalo believes that together, we can do even more.

According to Jackson Ude, Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio has paid some people in the APC to debunk "birthday jamboree expo".

"It is raining millions in the camp of the APC media urchins who were yesterday night mobilized with N25MILLION to go to all social media handles and discredit post on the Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s birthday jamboree.
I had made a post yesterday exposing with documents, how senators have donated almost N150million for Akpabio’s birthday celebration, how N800million has been taken from the Senate Account for his birthday and how MDAs are being asked to made donations too.


"After confirming my post to be true, Akpabio’s spokesman, Eseme Eyiboh claimed the donations were made by friends of the Senate President. At the same time calling it a 'blackmail and lies.'
Noticing that the post has gone virile, Akpabio and his minions assembled APC media urchins, paid them N25MILLION to discredit the post and take it “fake News.” As usual, they did not bring contrary documents or facts to discredit my post exposing the birthday jamboree. Jackson Ude on Thursday accused Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio of looting N700Billion from Akwa Ibom State and collecting N6million as monthly pension.

"After looting Akwa Ibom state of over N700billion using Skye Bank acct 1760358450, when he served as Governor, Godswill Akpabio has been collecting N6,050,707 as pension from Akwa Ibom State through account 1000651647, Zenith Bank.

"The greedy Akpabio had also looted NDDC when he served as the Minister for Niger Delta and is currently looting as Senate President," Jackson Ude said.

Jackson Ude further said that revealing the details of Akpabio's looting of Akwa Ibom few months before he left as Governor, the NDDC and now the Senate will form his birthday gift to celebrate Senator Godswill Akpabio as he turns 61 years of age.

Senior Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Obaseki, Mr Andrew Enantomhen on Wednesday said that PDP Governorship ticket hopeful, Asue Ighodalo will lead Edo State to greater glory when elected Governor of Edo State.

He made this comment while speaking on the forthcoming Edo State Governorship election slated for next year.

"Consultations are still ongoing but I can assure that Asue Ighodalo will make a good successor for His Excellency Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Jackson has on Wednesday revealed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio has taken N800million from the account of the Nigerian Senate for his birthday as Senators make donations as well.

According to Jackson Ude,
"Senate President Godswill Akpabio has raked in almost N150million from Senators donating towards his 61st Birthday Celebration scheduled for December 9, 2023 in Akwa Ibom State. Aside the huge donations coming from Senators which is domiciled in Acct 0660633829, Guaranty Trust under the name of Felicia Agbaire, the sum of N800million has allegedly been pulled out from the Senate Account to mark the Senate President’s birthday."


"Also, some selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAS, such as NDDC, NPA, NIMASA, NNPC, etc have been informed about Akpabio’s birthday and donations from them also expected," Jackson Ude further disclosed.


According to Jackson Ude, Senator Barinada Mpigi moved the motion for the Akpabio Birthday Jamboree, seconded by Senator Osita Ngwu
On December 9, a Private Jet chattered and paid for by Akpabio, would convey Senators to Uyo for the birthday celebration.

A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must apologise to Nigerians for his speech described as "one of the most embarrassing speeches ever, filled with inconsistency and totally out of point" at the ongoing COP 28 climate change event in Dubai.

Frank also condemned over 1,400 government officials and individuals in the President delegation to the international event.

In a statement released Tuesday in Abuja, the Bayelsa born political activist said the large number "is not only embarrassing to Nigerians, but a shame to a government who promised to cut down on spending, but rather encouraging Estacode spending by different agencies and parastatals whose attendance has no significant benefit to the Nigerian people."

According to Timi Frank, the speech delivered by the President, which has now become a subject of caricature to many Nigerians worldwide has cost Nigerians over $20m, as the only African country and the 3rd nation, with a large delegation of over 1,400 persons whose impact cannot be felt and has only succeeded in squandering government funds unnecessarily. Whereas China & Brazil which are world economies had about 1,600 delegates and 1500 respectively, with Nigeria coming in 3rd.

"It is sad to see many at the international event wondering how the President of Nigeria would deliver one of the most embarrassing speeches ever, filled with inconsistency and totally out of point, being presented by a world leader at this auspicious World event.

"Moreso, that this is coming at a time when many Nigerians are languishing in pernury because of the untold hardship associated with the coming of this government.

"If this speech that was read at the COP 28 was what was given to him by the experts, then they should immediately be fired for leading him astray. Nigerians cannot continue to be a joke internationally, after spending such a huge amount only to embarrass the country in this manner

"Other countries were there with very few delegations and achieved so much, but in our case it was partying and shopping without being visible in the event proper. Afterall, Nigeria has no significant carbon footprints to allow for such a huge delegation to grace the event.

"Therefore, I call on the President to immediately apologize to Nigerians and explain why the embarrassment on Nigerians in an international event. These are the reasons why investors continue to reject the idea of investing in Nigeria, because of our lack of seriousness in leadership.

"Other world leaders were very visible, initiating deals on the sidelines whereas.the delegation from Nigeria where partying and shopping around Dubai and nowhere to be found.

"This is the reason why Nigerians must support the upcoming grand diaspora protest, of Tinubu must go as this is the only way the people can have their say and save the nation.

"We are hopeful that some day, Nigerians would witness a true leader who would change the narrative for the better."

In October 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, made a pledge of the sum of N25,000.00 per individual monthly to 15 million vulnerable pensioners for 3 months. This pledge was made through the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, during her meeting with the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) early in the month. Following the announcement, the Humanitarian Ministry commenced the modalities for the collation of beneficiaries in a bid to expand the National Social Register and commence payment of the N25,000.00 from November. To make this possible, forms were printed and distributed to potential beneficiaries for data collection.

Reports reaching us has it that the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, collected a total of 1 million forms from the Humanitarian Ministry which he said are meant for veterans of the Nigerian Armed Forces. However, available data indicate that the list of veterans made available to the Humanitarian Ministry by the Defence Minister consists of only 90,000 veterans. Out of this number, not even one veteran has received the initial November grant payment. This makes one wonder what Badaru’s intentions concerning the FG grant are.

This development happens to be one of the underscoring points of Badaru’s time as the Defence Minister. Anyone ATHinterested in doing a quick math will realize that 1 million forms for N25,000.00 monthly for 3 months is N75 Billion Naira that is about to go unaccounted for without ever getting to the intended beneficiaries. As it is now, N25 Billion Naira of that money meant for the month of November is as good as gone.

Aside from the issue of corruption indicated above, Mohammed Badaru has actually displayed a nonchalant attitude in matters of National Security. In the same month of October, 80 human corpses were reported to have been discovered at Umuchieze Cattle Market in the Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, along with 20 headless bodies within the space of 48 hours. This was one issue that left millions of Nigerian’s in shock and expecting a response from those tasked with matters of security. But, there was neither a comment or reaction from Nigeria’s Minister of Defence. He did not even consider the need to arrive the at the community for an on-the-spot assessment, and to allay the fears of the people residing in the community, state and region.

One must understand that cattle markets in every part of the country are mostly operated by over 70% of Northerners who are naturally in the business of cattle rearing, grazing and meat production. This led to the suspicion that a good number of the unidentified corpses may be those of Northern cattle traders who may have fallen victim to the proscribed IPOB group during the EndSARS period when Northern traders were targeted and killed in great numbers in the South East region. It is for this reason that we expected that a Minister of Defence from our region will be quick to attend to, and deescalate any security issue that will threaten our business activities in every part of the country. Alas, he is aloof to such issues, with his sole focus on enriching himself through grants from the Renewed Hope administration. How long shall we continue to experience such incompetence and greed from Badaru? How long before Mr. President wades in and puts a stop to this?

Senior Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Andrew Enantomhen on Wednesday commended Edo State Governor, Governor Godwin Obaseki on his good works for Edo State in the past seven years of his being Governor of the State.

Andrew further stated that Governor Obaseki has led Edo State well in the past seven years and that in this second term he is finishing strong and finishing well by leading Edo State to greater glory.

"Take for instance, the ease of doing business in Edo State, Governor Obaseki has made the ease of doing business in Edo State so attractive that it has attracted alot of investors to come and invest in various locations in Edo State. Governor Obaseki has provided alot of infrastructures which have in turn played a major role in the ease of doing business in Edo State.

Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Minister for Steel Development on Tuesday justified sack of some of his aides (names with-held) over allegations that they did worked against the APC in the recently concluded Kogi State Governorship election.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Political Matters, Hon. Solomon Itopa; the Minister emphasized the non-negotiable essence of loyalty.

"The sack was necessary in a bid to set a clear precedence that Hon. Minister will not accept any form of insubordination.

"Hon. Minister frowns clearly at disloyalty. Loyalty is either 100% or none. He wishes the sacked aides the very best in their future endeavours," the statement from the Minister's read.

The Minister further used the opportunity to re-avow his loyalty to the APC and to the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, in the politics of Kogi State as he today paid a post-election mortem visit to Governor Yahaya Bello to re-congratulate him on the victory of Alhaji Usman Ododo, the candidate of the APC in the recently concluded Kogi State Governorship election.

The political terrain in Nigeria is one that is tedious and complex. Many leaders have tried their best but more often than none, their best was hardly ever enough.

At a time like this where and when Nigeria is reviving its Steel Industry, one man saddled with the historic task as it pleases President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his renewed hope agenda for Nigeria, is Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu, a young seasoned politician and an achiever par excellence.

Shortly after taking oath of office in September as Minister, he swung into action, rallying the various forces in and around the steel industry both home and abroad.

His blueprint is the very best. His targets are very realistic. He has set the bar of public office very high within his first few months in office so far as Minister.

Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu is a friend of all. He has been able to leverage on his ability to rally everyone to yield early achievements already for both his party the APC and the steel industry in Nigeria. In Kogi State he is a political force to reckon with as he recently delivered a Governorship election for the APC in Kogi State in a keenly contested election in his then capacity as Director-General of the Kogi State Governorship campaign council. He achieved this great feat inspite of attempts by some elements who tried to draw him into tribal politics. He overcame the tribal elements because he is a man of his words and he is a loyal party-man. Hence he allowed reason to prevail and along with His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State and the leader of APC in Kogi State, he delivered remarkably well for the APC in Kogi State. To this extent, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and leader of the APC nationwide and all APC within Kogi State and across the country are happy with him and very confident in him as a loyal party-man.

More than ever before, the steel industry is getting the much-needed attention from investors across the world, thanks to the leadership capacity and the rallying ability of Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu.

In the months to come, Nigerians will begin to see results even sooner than imagined as Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu has hit the ground running right from his first day in office as Minister for Steel Development.

Governor Godwin Obaseki has no doubt taken Edo State to greater heights in the past seven years of his being in charge of the State.

He has turned around for good the healthcare, education, transportation status of the State. These are just a few instances of his giant strides in the State.

Every aspect of governance in Edo State is receiving premium attention from Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Governor Obaseki has usually maintained that healthcare is about people and hence he has rebuilt and re-accredited the Edo State School of Nursing and currently it is the best School of Nursing in Nigeria.

Governor Obaseki is also rebuilding the Edo State School of Medical Health Technology which will help train the human capacity required in the basic healthcare system in Edo State.

In terms of infrastructure, Governor Obaseki has ensured that there is a master-plan and frame-work to guide future Governments as to what needs to be done in the State and in what areas, to further the cause of good governance in the State for generations to come.

Governor Obaseki has also been a great promoter of technology. He is already taking Edo State into the future where technology holds sway in day-to-day governance. He has usually ensured the introduction and critical use of more technology in designing of infrastructures in Edo State.

Under Governor Obaseki, the Government of Edo State has maintained an open-door policy and the Government has been very close to the people to learn of their plights and to go to work immediately towards alleviation the plight of the people. To this extent, the people of Edo State constantly witness massive rehabilitation works ongoing in especially the road network in the State for instance, the failed portion of Sapele Road, by Limit Junction in Benin City is receiving the needed attention by the Edo State Government and massive rehabilitation work is ongoing on that road, courtesy of Governor Obaseki.

Some months ago, Governor Obaseki signed an MOU with prime producers in the country, like Rock TV, Africa Magic and many more that their producers should come to Edo State to shoot their movies. As of last count, over 50 films have been made in Edo State courtesy of this MOU initiated by Governor Obaseki to improve the cultural, entertainment and tourism sector of Edo State.

These and many more are proofs that indeed Governor Godwin Obaseki is turning the fortunes of Edo State around for good and that he is finishing very well and very strong.

Immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State and founder of Ibom Air, Mr Udom Emmanuel was among those present on Friday, when the State made history in Nigeria’s aviation industry with the delivery of the first of ten brand new Airbus A220-300 series earlier signed during his tenure in 2021.

Ibom Air was founded in 2019 during the administration of Mr Udom Emmanuel and two years later, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, he led a delegation from Ibom Air to the Dubai Air show where he met and reached a formal agreement with Airbus for the procurement of ten new A-220 300 series aircraft.

Subsequently on Friday, Mr Udom Emmanuel was with top management staff of Ibom Airline that inspected and received the aircraft at the Airbus’ Mirabel facilities in Canada.

The Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, Benoit Schultz, Vice-President, Daniel Wenninger,, Head Of Airbus A220 Delivery Center, Marc Arpin and Cyrille Picard, Sales Director Middle-East & Africa made the presentation of the new airbus.

Leading top management officers of Ibom Air, were the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ibom Air, Captain Mfon Udom and the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. George Uriesi.

Speaking at the occasion, founder of Ibom Air and immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr Udom Emmanuel said Ibom Air is the first airline to take delivery of the all-new Airbus A220 in Nigeria.

He said during his time as Governor, he had envisaged Ibom Air becoming a dominant player in the aviation sector within the West African and African aviation hub and commended Governor Umo Eno for sustaining the Aviation development project of the State.

…Urges APC, YPP, Others to Accept Verdict, Support Eno

Professionals and businessmen from Akwa Ibom State have congratulated Governor Umo Eno on his victory at the Appeal Court which upheld his election as the Governor of the State.

The professionals under the aegis of Professionals in Akwa Ibom in a statement on Saturday observed that the judgement of the Appeal Court is further victory for democracy as it is a reflection of the Will of the people of Akwa Ibom State as expressed in the March 18, 2023 Governorship election.

National Coordinator of the group, Engr. Ufot Akan Umoren, in a statement on Saturday, urged other political parties and contenders to the Governorship seat to accept the verdict of the people as reaffirmed by the Judiciary and join hands with Pastor Eno to further move the State forward.

The group advised the contenders against further litigation at the Supreme Court adding that all such resources and energy should be directed towards building and lifting the State to a higher height.

“Our Platform congratulates Governor Umo Eno on his well-deserved victory at the Appeal Court, which upheld his election as Akwa Ibom State Governor at the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the State.

“As an apolitical group, which focuses only on good governance and the wellbeing of the people of Akwa Ibom State, we hold that the Appeal Court judgment is in tandem with the expressed Will of the people at the Governorship election.

“Our group therefore urges other political Parties and contenders to the office of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State in the last election, to accept the verdict of the people as also reaffirmed by the Court of Appeal and join hands with Pastor Umo Eno to move our dear State forward.

“From inception of office on May 29, 2023, Governor Eno especially with his ARISE agenda, has continued to demonstrate an exceptional vision, capacity, competence and proficiency for leadership, in line with the confidence reposed on him by the people as the best hand to lead the State at this critical time.

“We urge them as patriots not to engage in further litigation at the Supreme Court but redirect the resources, energy and time towards building and lifting the State to a higher height” the statement read.

The group urged the people of Akwa Ibom State to continue to support and rally round Pastor Eno in his quest to further develop the State and improve on the legacies of his predecessors in office.

The quest by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be recognized in the Guinness World Records over reforms initiated by him since assumption of office is a misplaced venture, it has been learnt.

A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, made this assertion in a statement in Abuja in reaction to the President’s comment in that regard while speaking in Germany recently.

Tinubu had while addressing an audience at the 10th German-Nigerian Business Forum, in Germany, said, “Nigeria voted for me for reforms and from day one of my inauguration, I started the reforms. To me, if you didn’t mention me in the Guinness Book of Records, I’d strive to find a way to insert myself because I did it without expectation.”

But Frank insisted that the only world record the President had set is to have inflicted severe economic pains and unbearable hardship on the people.

“You brandish your removal of fuel subsidy on Inauguration Day as an evidence that you ‘hit the ground running’ but you have failed to realise that that singular action has heated up average citizen with attendant pains, tears and sorrow.

“Your purported reforms have wrecked the nation’s currency with $1 now exchanging for over N1,000, up from N600 prior to your swearing-in as President. Yet you claimed to have broken a record capable of earning you a global recognition in the GWRs,” he said.

He insisted that even though the President claimed he was in Germany to woo investors, that none will be willing to invest in the country because of the negative world records he had already set as a personal.

“No investor will want to come to Nigeria when they know the President's character is questionable because investors will always do background checks before they go to anywhere.

“Such background checks would among others reveal the negative reputation of the man inviting them as a certificate forger with proven links to drugs trafficking.

“Foreign investors will definitely not go to a country with a flawed electoral process or where
the judiciary cannot be trusted to guarantee justice to protect their investments.

“So, while investors will not come to Nigeria under your government, your name, if at all, can only be written in Guinness World Records as a certificate forger in line with the ruling of a Chicago Court,” he said.

He also cited some false claims made by the President as additional reasons why his drive for investors would not yield any positive result.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, said: “He claimed that he had removed fuel subsidy, but fuel is still being subsidised by his administration even though the people now languish under the burden of astronomical increases in the pump price of fuel and other essential petroleum products.

“He claimed that he worked for Deloitte but Deloitte has since denied having his employment records.

“This is a President who often claim he is from the private sector but which genuine business has he done that qualifies him to be part of the private sector?

“He went to Saudi Arabia and India and upon return claimed he had convinced investors there to invest in Nigeria. But up till this moment no investor from Saudi or India has indicated interest to invest in Nigeria.

“If they didn’t corrupt the system, we're not supposed to look for investors. Investors are supposed to look for Nigeria with her abundant human and material resources that can attract investors.

“These obvious flaws are reasons why we are mobilising Nigerians, both locally and in diaspora, for a Tinubu must go mass protest to resist and stop all these illegalities and deception, targeted at the gradual annihilation of the people through high cost of food, medicare, goods and services, among others, in the country.”
