Just saw this on CNN. Nigeria is the 7th worst place to grow old in. The very worst are Pakistan and Afghanistan. |
smoothlips: Mulatto is offensive "don't go and call someone Mulatto" BigRuckus: 'Mulatto' is a more appropriate term, or biracial like tchidi pointed out... 'Half caste' is considered derogatory. Both Mulatto and Half-caste are offensive. Biracial is definitely the preferred term- that is for those who care to know. As for the feminism stuff and the surname change, that is for her and her husband to decide. I don't think I'll allow my wife to keep her surname though - she should be proud to adopt mine. But, let me get to that bridge before crossing it. |
Where is the OP so that he can dispel the facts laid by lobeez, lawmani, josh4ever and modash. The story doesn't actually add up. That doesn't mean I don't believe it did happen because I won't be surprised if it did, but I'm just keeping an open mind till we hear from the OP |
Chi Eluse: If your product is good you should be able to advertise it, more so that it has to do with the salvation of souls. If you know that you have better things to offer than other churches you have mentioned then why not flood the media with advertisements. You have that instruction right inside the Bible you claim to be holding.I believe alexleo and salt1 addressed those issues in the other thread. What are actually trying to achieve by re-posting this here? You brought up personal issues like taking medication. You can go to the headquarters of the church in West & Central Africa at Anthony Village or the International headquarters in Portland Oregon. The doctrine is the same: God heals (if you want to take medication or not, that is a personal decision) also Without Holiness, you can't go to Heaven (if a pastor has committed immoral acts, its between him and God. If its confirmed, then he can't be a Pastor in the church). As for advertising, there are a few radio and tv programs. There is definitely development in the way evangelism is carried out but the message of holiness should not be corrupted just because there is a need for more members.I don't know how you could possibly come about the information that the heads of the church are servants of the devil. Did God reveal that to you? Please I would advise you not to make statements you are not sure of. God bless you |
d light: From your description of the church it's a perfect place for a heavenly-minded person but as for the tithe, the bible isn't against tithing but rather commands it. My reservation for the church however has to do with their opposition to the use of drugs I wonder then if they have doctors in their congregation. We all know that God alone can heal. But expects us to take care of ourselves well instead of temting the devil. Herbs help to take care of our bodies whether in natural or refined forms. That's what we believe in. I still know there are instances though when God heals diseases without taking one pill talkmore of operation. That is not to say we shouldn't seek medicare because God heals through those means as well. |

Boomark: It means that the church people should continue to see him as their means of salvation even though all are sinners/fallible including the infallible. But why exactly do I need a fallible man to get salvation when infallible Jesus paid the price for my salvation on the cross. I think I know a place in the Bible where Jesus says he only is the way the truth and the life. I never heard him say;'As I live, I'm transferring that power to the pope'. Don't to argue but its somehow. #smh |
Ubenedictus: and bishops have be known to rebuke popes, well type d name st catherine into google and u will see d story of a woman wu had the habit of rebuking popes. Papal infalliability doesn't say the pope can't be rebuked and it doesnt say d pope is faultless either. So what exactly does it mean. I'm confused here. |
obalola7: Ok thats nice... what if you are invited to go preach at Redeem or MFM. Wouldn't you go?I know that the Church isn't very involved in joint christian or pentecostal programmes and don't allow preachers from other churches to feature in their programs. |
ogbeche77: Same here too..Especially when u are expecting a credit alert, only to open ur inbox and end up disapointed.. But there should be a way to screen out those numbers from ones phoneYou have a different problem oh.lol |
It is quite obvious that the First Lady was not the cause of this particular plane crash. Also, we know that the 'VIP' passage ish happens in Nigeria and air crafts have to hover for long periods of time. The VIP passage thing shouldn't take as much time as it takes in Nigeria and should be stopped. The cause of this plane crash is state of the plane. There is no need to spread rumours about our president. We all know that he is a very big disappointment to Nigerians but lying about him is pretty low-down and uncharitable. I suggest the OP removes this thread. |
The fact is that the protests are a result of popular opinion. Many Nigerians feel that Abiola didn't really have the masses in mind when running for the election. Nigerians wanted anybody but the military and so voted him. Naming a very popular and highly acclaimed university like Unliag after such a man is taken as insulting by many people. Same thing happened in Imo state when the Imo state university was named Evan Enwerem University by the former governor. It is true that the university is not among the Ivy league insitutions in Nigeria and although there were protests, they were relatively small. If an institution is named after Dim Ojukwu for instance, it would not be protested by anyone because he actually is worth immortalizing in such manner. Considering the state of affairs in Nigeria, I would have advised Jonathan not to bring up such a controversial topic. Anyway, the deed is done and we just have to hope for the best. |
Onyejonchi: You fail to realise that he has been given ample time to remove those saboteurs from administration. If he cannot overcome the challenges he is facing as a president and Nigeria's challenges as a whole, then he isn't fit to be president of our great country. |
ifeci: Did u read my last post with ur behind or did I type in chinese? So now that u hv succeeded in telling us that you live in America, has the price of iya bolu's tomato changed in the market? unnecessary flaunting of stupidity. It's okay. He must have seen it now. There' no use abusing him or her. |

Zikkyy: I want to believe he is a pastor.Paul's ministry was still financed by some people. Read Phillipians 4:15-19 ....when I departed from Macedonia,no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving but ye only. v 16 for even in Thessalonaica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. v 17 not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account v 18 but I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God v 19 but my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. What I'm saying is simple. Whether we like it or not, money is required for the gospel to grow. Dwelling on the money and not actually preaching the undiluted word of God is bad and should be abhorred. The Bible clearly states that if we fail to bring our tithes to the house of God, then we are robbing Him (Malachi 3 v 8&9). If we obey his commandment, we will be blessed immensely(Malachi 3 v 10). |
