TrebleChamp: What's your take on regular hybrid and plug-in Hybrid vehicles?
Not advisable especially for those of us who reside in Nigeria
Most of the vehicles we buy are high mileage cars. If you have ever witnessed auctions on copart/Iaai, you will understand better. Oyinbos no dey take eye see low mileage cars. They will keep bidding and outbidding each other. Nigerians don't stand a chance except the dealer has no intention of making profit. They usually leave the high mileage units for us.
This means by the time most of these vehicles get here, there's very little juice left in the battery. Whatever savings you hope to make on fuel, you can easily spend tripple replacing the battery.
Secondly, lack of technical know-how is a challenge. Our rewires and mechanics with their crude methods cannot properly fix these cars. You will be at the mercy of the few ones who can fix it.
The sweet spot is if you can get it brand new or import a unit with low mileage so you can enjoy the battery and vehicle before the issues start. However, this option will cost a whole lot of money.
GloriousGbola: The good thing is that it is proven technology. And it has been around for over 10 years. Cng vehicles full ground for India. And India is an analog for Nigeria. Anything that works there will work here. Las Las people will start buying the kits from India.
Also it may actually be better in the long run as gas does not get the pollutants that white product gets (as far as I can tell sha)
I have not had to worry about water in my petrol and therfore my carburator. My gen has been running much better. Though it definitely burns through oil faster
Any reason why mainstream car manufacturing companies are not building cars with CNG from factory?
I'm talking of Hondas, Toyota, Nissan, BMW e.t.c
We all saw how they jumped on the hybrid and electric train. Why not CNG?
izzou: CNG has been for a long time. The fact that many logistics companies never converted their trucks to CNG means it may not be as better as it sounds.
And yet, no single news on why we should look to CNG as a better alternative.
Now na 600k e go cost...
Good point. I've also wondered why car manufacturers have not considered it? They will rather build a car with expensive hybrid batteries than one that can be powered with CNG. Something is not right.
izzou: Why is nobody selling the advantages of running on CNG?
How long would a KG last, and how much would it be?
That was how innocent Nigerians converted their generators to cooking gas, because fuel was 568. When gas reach 1,000, na so all of them run back

We are talking about a vehicle and not a generator here o.
What of the kits themselves? How long will they last? No be to spend 500k for conversion and in 6 months, the parts are falling off and needing one maintenance or the other.
What's to say the price of CNG will not rise above the cost of fuel once demand rises.
Government and misplaced priorities as always, no surprises. I guess it's cashout time for some people.
......so this the reason whole Nigeria must suffer?!
Oloriburuku NLC. What of those who have been brutally beaten by government policies? That one no concern them. As long as Federal workers get a raise of 35k for 6 months. The rest of us no matter.
Awka South - Peter Obi won 95% of accredited votes
Idemili North - Peter Obi won 95% of accredited votes
Onitsha North - Peter Obi won 97% of accredited votes
Ogbaru - Peter Obi won 97% of accredited votes
Nnewi South - Peter Obi won 97% of accredited votes
Aguata - Peter Obi won 94% of accredited votes
Anaocha - Peter Obi won 94% of accredited votes
Njikoka - Peter Obi won 95% of accredited votes
Nnewi North - Peter Obi won 96% of accredited votes
And so on n so forth.
Was this result rigged?
You are still not getting the point. It's not about the percentage of accredited votes that was won. Its about the percentage of registered voters who actually came out to vote.
Ododo can win 100% of accredited votes in Okene for all I care. That's not the point I'm making. To say that 97% of registered voters came out to vote is impossible. What is the percentage of PVCs collected in Okene for starters? The figure you shared was 94% for the entire Kogi State.
How come the same thing did not happen in Muri and Dinos local government? Abi na only Ododo people sabi vote for their son?
Roland17: Our political culture is embedded in corruption and massive manipulation and that is the truth. The PDP will do the same thing if they were in power, look no further than Bayelsa in the same election cycle.
These guys no rate Nigerians at all. They know Nigerians will do absolutely nothing about these sort of rigging. They know nothing will come out of it and that is why there is no effort in even hiding the rigging.
Reminds me of Amaechis video. It's all forgotten now. We don shout as usual and moved on.
Look at the useless NLC and it will tell you everything you need to know. They have never successfully gone on strike to protest the hardship imposed by the government but now they want to go on strike because Ajaero was beaten.
larride: Even from the link you posted, they practically mentioned the ward they were suspending the election in after their investigation.
Using your Obi logic, across the state in Kogi, the total number of people that voted is less than 50% of registered voters.
In Anambra, Peter Obi won 95% of the number of those that came to vote on election day, was it rigged? In fact if we break it down LG by LG, we will see areas where Peter Obi won 100% of votes vis a vis accredited voters, were the results rigged?
No, you will have to show at least one local government in Anambra where there was 97% turnout of registered voters.
If only 50,000 people voted in Okene and all 50,000 voted for Ododo, no wahala. Your PO 100% vote will apply here.
To say more than 97% of people who registered to vote in a particular place actually came out to vote is impossible.
raumdeuter: Oyetola was fighting a very popular Adeleke, Timi Sylva and Dino were very unpopular candidates in their party to start
I believe if Muri was in PDP or Lyon was the APC candidate in Bayelsa, things will be different or at least closer
I watched the video and heard all Dino is saying. And thats how elections have always been run
Every party rig massively in their strong zones and try to neutralize votes in their weak areas
Pick any election from 1999 to date I will show you similar thing happenng everytime, Dino himself has done this and defeauded others
In the video I embedded those are PDP people lamenting how Dino and Atiku manipulated the delegate list in their favor If you manipulate delegate list in your favor and are whining about Yahaya manipulating Irev in his favor
Shebi whoever is coming to justice must come with clean hands
I absolutely agree that Dino himself is not a saint and the way he rigged the election that gave him the ticket is not doing him any favours.
Let's just forget about the man and focus on the election. We are fully back to the Obasanjo days where you don't even have to bribe the electorate again. Just pay INEC to write results for you.
larride: In Rivers, didn't the number of voters in the Gubernatorial election higher than the Presidential election?
In state local election, the turnout is usually higher than Presidential election as it's a local affair.
It's very very possible that Yahaya Bello cooked those 2 LG result to those numbers but an Ebira man standing for election in an Ebira land will get way more votes than any other person.
Those results were cooked as well. Same as yahya bello. Any blind man in Rivers State will tell you the turnout was miles more during the presidential election than the governorship. People walked long distances and were joyfully going to vote. After the abracadabra Wike did, most people sat at home. Streets were empty, polling units were deserted.
larride: The complaint I saw was that 1 local government, I don't know about the other 4 LG you are talking about.
I don't know where Dino is getting his own stats from but the result that Inec announced tallied both accredited voters and actual voters.
I remember asking here on Saturday how Okene and Adavi LG numbers were so high and if those LG were populated before Amoto told me those LG were populated.
Okene and Adavi are Ebira land, it's no surprise that they will give their son block votes the same way the SDP candidate got block votes from Igala land.
Dino should go n sit down one place.
Nawa o. This is INEC admitting that the rigging affected 5 local governments areas which they said they would investigate.
So they came out to vote for their sons and got 97% turn out of registered voters but others didn't come out to vote for their sons to achieve the same thing. This is what you're defending. Continue
Meanwhile, as strong as the Obi wave was in the last election, even getting more than 98% of votes in Anambra, the voter turnout was less than 40% of registered voters.
raumdeuter: In this same off cycle Diri won yesterday. I have seen videos during the PDP primaries where some PDP people told Dino and Atiku that they will support APC
There was a video from Fayose brother alleging that Dino did not mobilize any of the PDP agents, while he collected money from PDP governors and pocketed it
For PDP a traditional party to get that type of numbers shows that there might be truth in what Fayose said
The same thing applies to Diri. They all rigged their way back in. It does feel like Wike showed them the way. No way Oyetola would have lost if the election was done now.
And just forget about Dino for a second, and watch the video. It will only take twenty minutes of your time. The way election sheets were mutilated and the brazen manner with which Inec rigged can only remind you of Rivers State.
larride: Is it not this LG election that was cancelled and new moved to this week Saturday?
Remember the original complaint was about 5 local governments. INEC went ahead to compile and announce results from some of those local governments.
Some of those local governments had a 97% turn out of registered voters. Just think about it. Not 97% of those with PVCs, registered voters . The rigging was brazenly done.
I like what the man is doing, he built an access bank branch in Isiopko, one of the only two or three in the area. Trust the community, they ensured people from the community were also employed which is something. I've also been seeing several vacancies of jobs advertised by the school. Job opportunities for people in the state and beyond.
As for the location, he must have done his homework. There's a reason he's the billionaire and we are not
Does any of us know what high octane premium fuel is and where we can get it locally? Answer we can't.
We had issues with too much ethanol blended in fuel towards the end of Buharis admin. It affected regular cars. So unless you are telling me that all these high net worth ferrari owners are bringing in their own petrol, I am not sure how this will work.
Even using mundane items with manufacturer support is dicey in Nigeria - how much more for high maintenance items?
If you are talking about range rovers those actual have local support. Not sure how much it costs now but if I recall guys were paying coscharis as much as 100 to 400k in 2013 for servicing.
Usually, the knock sensors will retard timing leading to reduced engine performance and that's it. The effect is not so bad.
I have two vehicles that require premium fuel and I've been puting our 87(maybe lower) in both.
Secondly, you can compensate by using octane boosters. Anyone that can afford a Ferrari can import cartons of octane boosters.
Ikaeniyan0: He should start working on the evidence he will summit at the tribunal. If he can package and follow the right steps, a lot of polling units in Kogi central will be cancelled.
APC will also be taken a look at the votes from Kogi east because muri also rigged in Kogi east
Good luck getting the required materials from Inec
