KealDrogo: I don't know what is the big deal here, this is what any normal human should do except if you're a criminal. And besides the bank got her details and address she can be easily traced and arrested, so she has no choice than to refund the rightful owner back his money. To me she had done nothing exceptionally. Just attention seeking... I think you are not a Nigerian, threat of being arrested don't deter fraudsters from their job, drivers make away with their boss's car all the time despite knowing their relatives and even one guy was charged for duping the Nigerian Navy of millions, they know his name, family and address, yet he defrauded them. If you check the previous thread and see how some posters wish it were them so they can pocket the money, you will have a change of mind. Never underestimate a criminal mind. |

If Osinbanjo haven't plead on Sunusi behalf he should come forward and deny it. Do you want Ganduje to exclude Osinbanjo's name despite being among ? I thought you said it was sahara reporters who leaked the news ? All those other names were formality as they have little to no political clout to defend, the real target is Osinbajo. I am still wondering why Osinbajo has not been questioned on the issue, it is a big shame that a corruption investigation(even though politically motivated) can be shelved just because some "big men" intervened. This a rookie move if the allegations are true. |

With that been said, leave him let him celebrate "God's goodness" BTW he said he had left school for a while and many factors could have contributed to his not preparing for the exams. Before you come here and start being negative you should have asked why he didn't prepare? There is only one way for a nation to progress, that is by setting high expectations for its populace and enforcing it. Prayers don't perform surgeries, build roads or plant crops, all these are done by peoplewho worked hard to gain the necessary knowledge. So when we excuse incompetencies on the alter of prayers we are indirectly sinking our own ship. |

bishopkay: I'm not providing moral support for criminal activities.
Answer this question with all sincerity and I'd rest my case... The logo she put on the shoes and the material she used to wrap some of the pam slippers; are they readily available in the market or not?
Had it been she made those materials herself then added them to the shoes with the sole aim of hood winking people into thinking its the original, then it becomes a fraud! It would even shock you she didn't even know all this Brouhaha y'all are trying to bring. She probably went to the market and bought materials she saw to make her products. This is what I've been trying to explain to most of y'all.
As a matter of clarity though, I hope you are not having this opinion based on tribal differences (because some people live and thrive on hate) as that would utterly destroy the aim of whatever I'm trying to point out. Availability of a tool does not warrant its abuse. Nigeria already has a very bad image, we don't want to add "knock-off exporter" to it. The lady might not be aware of the gravity of her actions but many of people praising her work(including the logo) knew but ignore it because she is industrious which does not follow. We should demand higher standard from ourself, else we and our children wouldn't escape the mediocrity class. I don't know where you get "tribal hate" from my post, I never suggested such and foreigners do not see tribes they see Nigerians. Does it make sense if I suggest that you are supporting the girl for tribal reasons, even though I don't know your tribe or background ? |

Your life must be very miserable, but take heart, that you can't survive without engaging in criminal does not make you a victim of the "white thief", it is your lack of creativity coupled with an enabling environment that makes you think that way. It is not your fault, if the police had been doing their job, who knows where you will be by now. |

bishopkay: You were attacked not for saying she shouldn't make fake Gucci's but you were attacked because you didn't respect her hustle at least that's what my mind told me and don't even bring in the ethnic card. While I accept many Nigerians have a very warped sense of reasoning, I like been practical in whatever I do.
You see a young struggling lady cobbler who has some good wares to her pride and you start yapping your mouth simply because she put Versace and Gucci logo on the wares.
The people buying it, you think they don't they know it's not the real deal? Was she passing off the products as the original Gucci and Versace, because that then would be the real fraud. Were all things equal would you be proud of your sister doing a petty cobbler work? It may shock you maybe that girl is a graduate who's probably rounded up her Nysc but no job around or the place she managed to see a vacancy, the boss wants to f**k her simply because he wants to pay her 50k a month for working for him.
If you had said "nice work but let her concentrate on building her own brand instead of impersonating a made brand" it would have been much better than that raw, brash and arrogant comment you made on that thread
As big as China, they got popular for faking and impersonating huge brands until they got their desired popularity in the market and started facing their own brands. Here we go again, Nigeria is not the only country with unemployed people, "no job" should not be an excuse to condone criminal activity. There is hardly any difference between a fraudster and those who hail and provide moral support as you are doing. |

Ishilove: This is awkward...
An ignorant racist writes nonsense and some Nigerians are accepting it as gospel truth.
While we accept that Nigeria is a country bedevilled by corruption, this kind of generalisation has rendered the article nonsensical. How can you say 'every Nigerian is a scammer'? The most notorious scammers in history are Americans, Europeans and Asians. Every crook hiding in cyberspace can claim to be Nigerian because we already have a bad rep.
I dismissed the entire article when the silly writer inferred that Nairobi is in West Africa. I cannot take the thoughts of such an ignorant person seriously, whether black or white.
As for the Emmanuel who commented on the blog, he evidently belongs to that class of Nigerians in Diaspora who display their rock bottom self esteem and inferiority complex by being more American than the Americans.
Crap! While the generalisation is wrong and some of his points are point blank racist, no conman will ever claim to be a Nigerian. In fact, the reverse is the case, the scammers will likely hide their Nigerian identity when they can, so if someone is outed as a Nigerian, I am very certain he is. Will you trust someone from a country with a lot of internet scammers ? I remember while in school, scammers are viewed as smart and intelligent people who know how to make money with their brain. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Are Sub-saharan Africans Intellectually Inferior To Other Races? by ivolt: 10:24pm On May 15, 2017 |
Trudax: Are sub-saharan Africans intellectually inferior on the average to other races?
If we accede to the fact that intelligence is heritable and we also agree that the environment places certain constraints on the individuals living within that environment, and these constraints influence the evolution of these individuals, then why can't we agree that intelligence should vary among human populations who evolved in different environments? Why do we oppose any claim that asserts the superiority or inferiority of a certain race in comparison to another race, when obviously they evolved in unique environments with unique constraints?
If we agree that natural selection is the vehicle that has driven genetic and phenotypical disparities evident in different races, why then do we oppose views that assert the disparities in intelligence, given the fact that intelligence has genetic underpinnings? Evolution has no goals, it is only concerned with the survival of species. There is no model that evolution must or should follow. Despite living apart, fire, crossbow and blast furnace were independently invented in China, Europe and Africa which point to the fact that Homo Sapiens, regardless of race, will adapt when necessary. Modern anthropologists understand that race is a social construct not genetics, the human genome project also dealt a death blow to the "biological race" concept, the variation within the so-called "distinct" race range from 80-90%, not exactly what the genetics-based race advocate had expected. All claims must be backed by evidence, so the statement that sub-saharan africans are intellectually inferior is a baseless one. Anyone can make a statement, but it will take more than that to convince any rational individual. We don't just agree that phenotypical disparities exist among races, there is demonstrable evidence for it. |
