Romance / Re: It Is Unnatural To Be Gay, No One Is Born That Way by Ivorianaija(f): 11:56pm On May 25, 2018 |
"Orientation change If being gay is truly a choice, then people who attempt to change their orientation should be able to do so. But most people who are gay describe it as a deeply ingrained attraction that can't simply be shut off or redirected. On that, studies are clear. Gay conversion therapy is ineffective, several studies have found, and the American Psychological Association now says such treatment is harmful and can worsen feelings of self-hatred. For men, studies suggest that orientation is fixed by the time the individual reaches puberty. Women show greater levels of "erotic plasticity," meaning their levels of attraction are more significantly shaped by culture, experience and love than is the case for men. However, even women who switch from gay to straight lifestyles don't stop being attracted to women, according to a 2012 study in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior. Those results suggest that while people can change their behavior, they aren't really changing their basic sexual attraction." |

mhisbliss: All I am saying is that you shouldn't just form your opinion without doing research on it first and having solid evidence. The bible is not a primary source due to the constant changes that have been made. How do you know that the translation you are reading is even accurate? The bible was originally in Hebrew, then translated into Greek, from Greek it was translated into Latin, from Latin to Spanish, and from Spanish to English. How are you sure there were no mistakes in between all of those translations. 2 Likes |

mhisbliss: Unafrican you say? Africans did not think that homosexuality was wrong until the Europeans came and introduced them to the Bible. Isn't there a quote that says "We were given the Bible, and they took our land" Most of the concepts that we condemn are largely brought to us by the Europeans that colonized us. Event the bible that you reference was given to us by the Europeans. Before you say that the bible was written by middle eastern men, the bible we know today has been severely edited for hundreds upon thousands of years to suit the way people wanted it. Think for yourself, not for the white man. 3 Likes |

Fashion / So, You Want To Go Natural?: The Basics Of Natural Hair #teamnatural by Ivorianaija(f): 12:01am On May 25, 2018 |
Going natural is a big step in achieving healthy hair, and healthy hair is the best hair. First let me inform you of the dangers of relaxers/perms: Breakage Next, another related issue, using relaxers has a tendency to cause breakage. Given that relaxers permanently alter your natural hair texture, your hair will become weaker and more likely to break. Over time, this can cause serious breakage to various areas of your hair, if not all of your hair in general. Scalp Infections Another fairly common issue among those who rely on relaxers for hair straightening, scalp infections are very serious and can cause massive and irreversible. In fact, several consumers have had to file lawsuits to attempt to rectify the issue. These serious infections can cause permanent bald spots and often have to be treated by a professional. Respiratory Issues The number one reason why relaxing your natural hair is dangerous for your health, they can literally cause health problems. Filled with very strong chemicals (such as lye), the chemicals in relaxers can affect both hairdressers as well as the ones receiving the relaxers. Breathing in the chemicals on the regular basis or even periodically, and over time, can cause symptoms such as prolonged sneezing, coughing, wheezing and other respiratory issues. These symptoms can be all the more damaging to those with pre-existing respiratory issues. Are you scared yet? Moving on, before you even consider going natural you should think of how you are going to do it. Will you let the under-growth of your natural hair keep growing and then you cut off the relaxed/damaged hair at the end, cut away the relaxed hair and grow out and maintain whatever is underneath that, or you could just shave your head completely down and grow your hair out all over again. This all depends on you and what you think is the most beneficial. After you have decided upon this, the next step is to identify your hair texture. The type of hair you have will dictate the type of products you can and can not use. At the bottom of this page is a hair texture chart if you are not sure. Most black people tend to have hair texture ranging fro 3a (curly) to 4c (kinky/coily). Type 4 hair tends to absorb a lot more moisture than looser hair textures do therefore they need to constantly be moisturized. Never let type 4 hair become completely dry. I repeat, NEVER LET TYPE 4 HAIR TO BECOME COMPLETELY DRY OR YOU SHALL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES! When Type 4 hair is dry it starts to tangle and then you will have to detangle and it will become painful. Type 3 hair is similar but not completely the same. Type 3 hair doesn't need as much moisture to be maintained. In fact, when there is too much moisture in type 3 hair it becomes crinkly and smells a bit odd. You don't want smelly hair. There are many things you can do with your natural hair such as dreadlocks, sisterlocks, twists, braids, braid extensions, and you can still straighten it without chemicals. I personally have had sisterlocks (tiny dreadlocks) for the passed 5 years and they grow long very quick in my own opinion. You can also still wear a wig with your natural hair under as long as you have a protective style under. A protective style such as cornrows/braids is good to have under your wig cap. If you have any questions please comment and I would be happy to answer! 1 Like

Romance / Looking Classy And Expensive (even When Your Bank Account Isn't Looking To Good) by Ivorianaija(f): 3:41am On May 19, 2018 |
You don't have to spend thousands to look classy. There are so many ways you can style yourself, so you can look like you spent almost a forutne at a designer shop. It all comes down to picking the right peices, wearing the correct fabrics and when all else fails ACCESSORIZE! Every woman wants to feel like a million dollars. But you have to look the part to be the part. 1.Leather Jackets - These jackets look great as long as you stick to a certain style. Modern cuts and silhouettes work best. Just make sure to stay away from leather jackets that are covered in shiny buttons, fringe, and too many zippers. The key is to keep it simple if you want to look as sophisticated as possible. Make sure to get lightweight faux leather jackets to accomodate to your climate. Pick the Right Fabrics! - One of the easiest ways to spot cheap clothing is to look at the material it's made of. Most cheaper peices are constructed of inexpensive fabrics such as polyester, rayon, acrylic, and nylon. Instead try to select luxe fabrics that will last longer over time, such as suede, cotton, and linen. If you're looking for a cheaper option try a cotton and polyester blend. Buy Designer Inspired Pieces - Just because you may not be able to afford designer pieces doesn't mean you can't enjoy wearing items that look like they cost you a fortune. Many shops offer clothing items and other items that look almost exactly like designer items but at a cheaper price. On amazon.com you may find designer bag look-alikes such as Ainifeel and Cherryhill. Remember to keep your bags simple! No rich woman would be caught dead with a bright patterned bag. Wear More Black Wearing black gives you a slim look and also makes you look very classy. Black is a neutral color so it can be paired with anything. Add more neutral colors to your closet such as nudes, whites, and the occasional light pink. Simple Lipstick Colors The best lipstick colors are nudes, reds, and pinks. Also keep in mind what matches your skin tone. The best lipsticks for darker women are deep reds and browns. For lighter skin tones the best lip colors are bright reds, and pinks. Wear Pointy Shoes Pointed shoes add a posh flare to your outfit. Be sure to add pointed flats and heels in neutral colors for an even more polished look. If you must wear printed shoes make sure your outfit is solid color to balance out the patterns. Sunglasses Sunglasses have the ability to make anyone look like a hollywood star. Make sure to pick a style that flatters your face, but a general good look for anyone is oversized pairs. They instantly add a bit of glamour to any outfit. Sometimes a man will have a romantic relationship with his partner and they are in love. However, they may have different sexual needs. In some cultures a man will have his romantic partner, the woman he is in love with and they have a family with, and his sexual partner for his sexual needs. The sexual partner understands her role in the relationship and may even have a romantic partner of her own. The wife may have a sexual partner if she pleases. Your love is one way and your lust is another. Maybe Nigeria could pick up on this practice |

I think every woman should establish herself before thinking of any kind of relationship. You should never depend on anybody for anything, because when that person decides they are done with your shit you will be left with nothing. If your boyfriend make ₦100,000 per month and your girl ₦100,000 per month, you put one and two together and you have enough to support each other. This is what having a spending plan is for! You should learn from Cote'd'Ivoire! 1 Like |
