It should not, and i would explain with my own personal experience. when i came to Canada, Nigerians i meet in Canada were telling me i can not get a professional job, that the job i will get is support worker, no Nigerian spoke positivity to my life. No body told me i could go to school and upgrade myself more. all they keep telling me is that i should pick 3 care jobs, i will make more money at the expense of my career oh . can you imagine ? And meanwhile some of these guys are not doing the care job. Honestly their is nothing wrong doing the health support work or care job, but why should people project much negativity into my life. with the level of professionalism i have back home from Nigeria. Their also many things i can not tell you here, so many negative experience and wrong advise from Nigerians. It is sad, i have avoided everything Nigeria since i came to Canada, from church to meetings or parties. I told myself if i want to make progress i must think like oyinbo and talk like oyinbo, i would not be able to achieve that if i stay with people with so much negativity and jealousy. Again you can understand my stand point here.
I think you need to change your circle of Nigerian friends in Canada.

As the new year approaches, people in the GTA can you suggest fun things to do or places to visit for the countdown/New Years day? My friends are saying it might not be safe to be downtown specifically at Nathan phillips square for the countdown (but I kinda don’t believe that). Anywhere else one can visit for fun?

Its not advisable for young couples to relocate. Most loose their marriage due to the immaturity coupled with the new location and the freedom it brings.
Hahahaha no darling that is NOT true. Not impossible for some couples but not the general case. I’m more than glad we migrated now as a young couple and it’s been extremely fulfilling building our lives and dreams together in Canada with love and understanding.
Once you marry the right person and there’s true love in the relationship, whether you’re in Canada or Nigeria with environmental changes or not, come rain or shine, it’s marital bliss.

Hi ladies. I’m frm pregnancy thread to pray with you guys. It’s a long one and i’m joining my faith with you wonderful mums.
Found this on BabyCenter community and its so encouraging!!

Father, we thank You that children are the heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Children are Your idea, Father; You thought up children, and family, and home. You instituted the family in the Garden of Eden. You ordered children; You commanded them when You said to Adam and Eve, "Be frutiful and multiply." You said that the barren womb is never satisfied. Lord, the Word declars that I am wonderfully and fearfully made by You; therefore, I'm perfect and able to conceive and have children. You said that I/my wife would be a fruitiful vine by the side of our house and our children like olive plants around our table We are not ashamed but happy because our quiver is full of children (or arrows, as You call them).

Thank you, Father, that You designed and fashioned me/her, to have children, that in the Bible barreness was the excption, not the rule, not Your will, not normal, something against Your plan and purpose. And in Your goodness and faithfulness every barrren woman in the Bible who was goldly and believed Your Word became pregnant; You opened her womb and bless her, and she gave birth to a precious baby just as I/she will. You make the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children.

You said, Father, that because You are our God and we are Your people and have a convenant with You that You will love us and bless us and multiply us and bless the fruit of my/her womb and that neither male nor female among Your people would be barren.
Father, we are redeemed form the curse of the Law by Jesus, and being barren is under the curse of the Law; therefore, we will receive from Your grace and have children.

Father, no plague, no evil shall come nigh our dwelling. We are healed by the stripes of Jesus. Sickness of any kind is taken out of our midst. You said to ask anyting of You in Jesus' name and it would be done; and that if two of us on eather agree as touching anything it would be done. So we pray and we agree with You and Your Word, Father, that we will conceve and bring forth a healthy, precious baby to Your glory and honor. We pray all this according to Your Word and will. You said, This is the confidence that we have in You, that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us; and if You hear us, we know we have the petition we desire of You, We have it now. Thank, Father, in Jesus' name.

Now, talk to your body:

Bodies, we speak to you in Jesus' name; You will come in line and agreement with the Word of God. You will respond to His holy Word. You will function properly and perfectly, the way God inteded you to. Every part, every organ of our reproductive system conforms to the Word and plan of God as we come together in pure, martial love. Body, conceive! Be pregnant. Cooperate with God's plan; perfect ovulation, release of perfect eggs from the ovaries, thorugh the fallopian tubes, penetrated and impregnated, fertilized by healthy sperm. Good solid attachment to uterine wall and nourished and protected for nine months (40 weeks) unharmed and unhindered. Grow to a perfect baby - spirit, soul, and body. Your Word says, Father, that none shall cast their young, nor be barren amount Your people and the number of our days You will fulfill. This pregnancy will be fulfilled. We decree it in Jesus' name and receive God's best; we won't settle for anything less in Jesus' holy name. Thank You, Lord, that it is so and done to Your honor and Glory. Amen.

Lovely baby bed!

Please, have any Mama in the house ordered baby items or other stuff from Aliexpress? What's their services like? Dh said its better to order via Ali express cos it's cheaper and of better quality. A bed sold for 70k in the market goes for 50k on Ali express. I don't like the idea of ordering stuffs online cos I had a terrible experience with an online store here in Nigeria. I ordered a nice gown but a Chinese gown was delivered after making payment.
Yeah I have experience ordering stuff from aliexpress back then. I personally didn’t trust them enough to purchase anything expensive because some things I ordered weren’t of the right size/specification although those were clothes. If you don’t mind not seeing the items or inspecting them physically, you can go ahead and buy. Just know it might be hard to return if something isn’t right and it takes time for delivery. Due to the lack of appropriate postal services in Nigeria, they will deliver to nipost who in turn will send to the nearest post office to you for pick up

Hello guys, please I need info on how this credit card stuff works. Let's say you want to withdraw cash from your credit card and will be paying back in some days time. Will the interest be charged daily. Cos someone was saying TD bank charges $22.99 daily until you finish paying back. How true?
Please don’t use your credit card for cash transactions as the interest accumulates daily until you pay in full. It’s not $22.99 but 22.99% on the amount (average daily balance actually) and there’s also a flat fee for cash advances. Not worth it pls, use a debit card for cash transactions

A little advice wanted from landed seniors that have done this before...

Landed in Airbnb. was hopeful of finding a place asap so only got a week. but I am starting to wonder if my budget is realistic. I chose Toronto because the Mrs and I are both in finance and I also have future plans that sort of make Ontario the only choice for us. We wanted an apartment of any sort except a basement either in Etobicoke, Scarborough, north and east york and Mississauga, but we can't seem to find anything under $1500 that is not a basement (we actually started from a budget of $1300 o, just to show you how much we have pushed our limits on this budget thing)...

Can anyone advise if this amount is reasonable and if I just need to keep searching? Its just frustrating when you see a price on Kijiji and you check the company site and its $1900 instead, or you call the management office and they either don't answer or they tell you the property is not available. I really do not want a basement apartment for my family, so I want to know if my budget is even realistic at all. I would appreciate any input on this or any connections that would help to find a place ASAP. una do well...
Hi there.
Those areas you mentioned are in the GTA and to be honest, your budget isn’t realistic for an apartment. Rent isn’t exactly cheap here unless you look into smaller towns probably outside the GTA.
It’s not impossible but highly unrealistic to get an apartment for that amount. Why aren’t you guys going for a basement? That budget will get you a basement apartment. If you can’t exactly increase the budget and have no one to stay with, I suggest you go for the basement apartment and save your Airbnb money. I don’t know the size of your family but you can get a 2 room basement (even more, who knows) with that amount.
If your concern about basements is the fact that its the coldest part of the house, get mobile heaters to add to the central heater and you guys will be fine. Afterwards, when you guys are settled you move from there.
Hope this helps

BS BS!!!

It's the end of November and I wouldn't want the month to end without my BS submitted.

Where do I start from sef? Okay, let me start by giving God all the glory for His enduring mercies. I lost my baby at 24 weeks last year June after losing aminiotic fluid for close to 2 weeks. I had PPROM and concluded that it was the infection I had in pregnancy and failed to treat.

After that month, I thought I could take time off to get over my loss but was surprised when my period started playing rough play with me around November. Then in January this year, I joined NL TTC thread where I met lovely ladies and was encouraged to carry out some tests.

I went to the hospital but after the series of tests I was asked to do, I took the other option by sowing seed and trusting God to come through for me.
And so in the midst of erratic menstrual cycle, fibroid and cyst, God remembered me again.

I would say the pregnancy journey was a smooth ride cos I ate and enjoyed myself. At a point, I remembered what happened last year and thought of going for cervical cerclage to keep baby in but ended up trusting God to keep baby in.

And so at 37 weeks, I started getting tired. Baby weight, vjay pressure, bom bom bone pain became the order of the day.
Exactly on my EDD, I started having mild and inconsistent stomach upset. At about 7:30 pm, the contractions became more persistent but irregular. At around after 10pm, hubby packed my hospital bags and other stuff to the car and off to vigil we went.

Getting to the vigil, I wasn't myself anymore. My pastor's wife told me to stay behind and dance for God to bring on more contractions but I couldn't hold it off anymore. My pastor prayed for me and we headed straight to the hospital from there.

On reaching there, I was checked and was already dilated to 4cm. Next thing 5cm and before I could say Jack Robinson, I got to 6cm. Doctor was exicted and ruptured my water to encourage more contractions and dilation. And then Satan rose up.

Sisters for over 8 hours I remained at that 6cm. They finally induced me and that was when I finally understood why people go crazy when induced. I begged for help no way. I told them to turn the drip off but no one would listen. I couldnt reach my husband cos no one is allowed in the labour ward. I begged for epidural and was told the guys that handle such don't come on weekends. I was fed up and tired and wanted to opt for CS. But then I started feeling sleepy.

I would fall asleep in between contractions and when the wicked ones hit me, I will cry out in pain. The doctors had already made up their minds to take me in for CS once I finished the drip and that was when God sent a tough female doctor in.

She told me that she wouldn't allow me go through this rigorous inducement only to end up with CS. She got another drip and doubled the oxytocine. That was when I left Earth and went to hell.

Before I knew it, I was dilated to 10cm with wicked contractions. When it came time for me to push, I would push and nothing seemed to be happening. I was tired having being in serious labour from 10pm the previous night. One of the midwives asked the one assisting her to check for my baby's heartbeat with a hand electronic Doppler and after checking she said no heartbeat. She asked her to check again and she repeated the same thing. Hmm... I didn't want to believe her. Then she was asked to get the one that was hooked to my tommy all the while and even before she could finish placing it, my baby's heartbeat was heard strongly.

That was when they started hitting my thighs cos they said I wanted to kill my baby since baby was already close to my vjay. Anyway, I mustered strength and pushed with everything in me and baby's head came out with 2 cords tied to his neck. The nurse screamed and cut it and with one final push, my baby came into the world screaming.

I was latered sutured because baby tore me. Oh mehn, that was another very painful experience even with the doctor injecting the place with pain reliever.

Anyway, I give God all the glory for not allowing me go through this journey without seeing the result.
The Lord will make it easy for all the remaining November mamas and our December mamas that are ready to start dropping it like it's hot kiss

To all our GTC mamas, the Lord who has put this laughter in my heart will do the same for you.

Thank you everyone that made this journey an extra enjoyable one for me.

I present my orobo self and lepa DH and baby Giovanni to you.

plz I need help for my wife. she started bleeding last weekend and she is only 5weeks pregnant. Scan said its subchorionic hematoma. Who has experienced such thing before, please share with me. Right now the foetus is still intact but the blood is spotting.we are confused
Sorry you have to go through this. Never had this experience but frm what I’ve read online from people who had similar issues, SCH is like a blood clot inside the womb that bleeds as the pregnancy progresses. Some times, the embryo grows and the hematoma flows off, sometimes the embryo flows off with the hematoma. Please see your doc for advise to avoid any complications. Your wife would maybe be placed on bed rest.
Wishing you both all the best as you come out of this situation.

Happy Sunday super hero's!

Please make una chok mouth for this my matter. I'm 16 weeks dot, headache no gree me see road. I am afraid for my baby cos I don't feed well. I stay alone as dh is at work(offshore), and am naturally not a foodie. After cooking, the food won't taste nice in my mouth and I will end up packing them inside the freezer. Just yesterday, I fried 2 eggs for breakfast to go down with tea and bread but I ended up not eating it. I will feel like eating rice, but immediately am done with cooking, the rice won't be appealing to me and if I force it down next is to throw it up.

The only it that still taste good in my mouth now is fried yam, white yam with red oil and plenty pepper. I can tolerant some fruits like watermelon, banana and apple.

I'm worried that my baby isn't getting enough nutrient. Please mamas what can I do?

Sunbestie and other May Club member does anyone feel same?
Sorry dear, I have headaches too, mostly at night though. As for food, I simply avoid what i have aversions to and eat others well. Dh cooks for me a lot of times too so that helps. Sorry you have to be alone now, isn’t there anyone that can come stay with you for a while to assist? Maybe a sibling?

I got $4000 PTA from Accessbank last year with my one way ticket. With a copy of COPR attached and visa clearly saying single entry as a permanent resident visa, they will.

Except CBN has changed/stiffened the rules within this one year, you can get PTA on one way ticket from AccessBank, don’t know about others cos I didn’t try other banks.
