^ Great idea. That could work, maybe. ![]() I wonder why my poll was deleted. ![]() |
^ That's the problem for me!! "Ok" isn't enough. I'm looking for bad@ss!! ![]() ![]() |
Sagamite:Quoted for pure win and undeniable truth, once again. ![]() You seem to be one of the few here that actually make sense when talking about football. I whole-heartedly agree with everything you said. But I believe that Amodu's future with the team depends on how well the SE perform in the upcoming ACN. |
^ I second that. Puma is the best jersey sponsor for me though, followed by Adidas then Nike. Umbro is like ![]() Oh, one more thing that isn't shown in the pic showing the SE jersey: the back of the shirt will most likely have the TechFit elastic stripes (just like France's against Eire). That makes it better, a bit. ![]() |
Geeez guys ![]() This thread wasn't about how well the SE will be performing in the upcoming WC. It was about aesthetics, design. Why the hell do I get all these pointless comments telling me that I'm b!tching for nothing because what counts is how well Nigeria will play not how green their jersey is?? No kidding. . . |
Which side?Well I beg to differ. I find the jerseys from the the early 90's horrid. Nigeria '94 wasn't an exception. My favourite Nigerian jersey is the one we are currently using, followed by NGA '98. NGA '02 was arguably the worst kit in the history of kits. My goodness. Lime green. If the primary aim of that jersey wasn't to blur the vision of our opponents then what was it?? ![]() |
^ I do appreciate the "Stupid" bit. How elevating. . . Cool story bro. Btw, I just noticed that Spain's jersey is also plain, no patterns at all. I feel relief. I started to have all these negative thoughts in my mind. ![]() |
^ Home in the sense "home" and "away" jerseys, much? ![]() |
I added a poll. ![]() |
@ IyinedaWhat's your point? ![]() Did I ever mention in the OP that it's because of the plain jersey that Nigeria will fail to shine in the WC. No. I just find it too ordinary compared to other nations' jerseys (read OP again). And people, I'm not complaining. I just felt surprised and a lil disappointed when I first saw the kit. Nigeria is the only team sponsored by Adidas that doesn't have a customized pattern. Mexico, France, Danemark, Greece, Spain, Germany, South Africa, they all have some extra touch that makes it awesome and unique. I feel like Adidas just relegated us to the "Championship" of WC teams. |
Even if we hired Fergie to coach Nigeria for both the Nations Cup & World cup. . . we still wouldn't win. Isn't he also going to use the same players Amodu's presently using? ? ?Quoted for undeniable truth. ![]() It always makes me smirk a lil when some folks out there say "God is on our side, He will make it happen". lmao Clueless as ever. The players themeselves and their nerves are going to be the main X-factors. Nigeria, buckle up! |
I guess we will have to wait for the Super Eagles' performance in Angola before passing final judgement on Amodu. If he takes Nigeria to at least the semis - with style and a well determined game pattern - then definitely he should take us to the WC 2010. If he only manages to take the squad into the 1/4 finals - with a shambolic game pattern - then he'll either need to be sacked and replaced by a NIGERIAN coach (preferably Keshi or Siasia). If the NFF doesn't sack him even with those results, then they should provide him with a new assisstant - either Keshi or Siasia, because having both in the technical staff is just impossible. ![]() |
I think this shirt looks too, generic. Yeah, it has that simple template-like feel to it. Just like Adidas telling NFF "oh, you guys get plain shirts this year because we now consider your side as a '2nd zone squad'". Ouch, Having those thoughts make my head hurt. Anywhooo, thanks for sharing your opinion, Singular. |
Hey guys, am I the only one who feels bummed about this? Just look at it (below); it pales in comparison to other countries' kits. https://i48.tinypic.com/28sydc9.jpg Cameroon's Puma is by far the best kit in my eyes. Puma really did a great job. But if we stick to Adidas, Germany's, Japan's and even Greece's look fantastic, with the patterns and all. ![]() See other kits here --> http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prodinfo.asp?PID=PDS-010-001-102&GROUP=WORLDCUP What do you guys think? Please tell me this is just a try-out version of what we're gonna get for SA 2010. *fingers crossed* |
I know I'm not attracted to girls who are taller than I am or even same height. ![]() I dunno, it doesn't have anything to do with the girl being more "intimidating". I've always liked the idea of the girl being at leat a full head shorter than me. That's my ideal, probably based on the western model we see on the big and small screens. ![]() I'm only slightly taller than my gf - I'm 1m78 and she is 1m73. Her height almost put me off at first. But her personality and charming gaze won me over. ![]() |
My predictions for this homogenous group B of ours: - Argentina Vs Nigeria : 1-1 - Nigeria Vs Korea Rep : 3-2 - Greece Vs Nigeria : 0-0 People underestimate Greece, A LOT. Sure, they aren't a flamboyant team but damn they are tough to play. You will see how difficult it will be to get past their defensive line. Ask Sheva's Ukraine, Argentina are definitely not the same ogres they were back in 2006. Maradona isn't doing too well. They have issues with their defense and tactics. Messi remains a huge threat though. I use my reserve card on Korea Republic. I'd have prefered Naija to play their neighbour's of the North, Good luck Super Eagles. With discipline we can do this! ![]() |
Alala, The accent issue again. ![]() I think the importance of accent is more about getting others to understand what you are saying. I live in Europe - have been there for the past 11 years. So when I speak in English over there, my accent is different from the one I would normally speak with to my family members for instance. It has nothing to do with blowing "phone(tics)". Just about oral comprehension. What is ridiculous are the Nigerians who change their accent after spending a night on the plane taking them to the US and coming back to Naija to start talking with a US accent to just about anybody, even their gatemen or househelps. ![]() |
lol at people still suggesting Amodu get sacked before the start of SA 2010, What a bunch of ******** Anywhooo, here's what I'd like to see the SE line-up look like for the upcomimg ACN ![]() Formation: 4-4-2 1. Enyeama; 5. Odiah 2. Yobo (c) 6. Adeleye 3. Taiwo; 11. Odemwingie 10. Mikel 13. Ayila 18. Obinna; 9. Martins 8. Aiyegbeni |
Domenech!Probably the most unfortunate comment I've read on these boards. How clueless. I don't know much about Amodu. All I know is that some of his strategy choices are uncalled for. He doesn't have a proper midfield. As for Domenech, haha, I love this guy. Such an entertainer. Up there with Mourinho when it comes to the lulz of the game. But as a technician, he does have some issues. Leaving Benzema - probably the biggest French talent as of today - on the bench is an ineptie I'm yet to diggest.PS: Why mods? Why? I didn't say "unfortunate". What's the censorship all about ![]() |
Just because you are fond of Ameobi and Osaze does not mean they are good enough to make the team to the world cup.Dude, I just hope your joking because if somebody in the Super Eagles team deserves First Team Shirt more than anyone else, that would be Peter Osaze Odemwingie. He played almost all the matches of the qualifying stages of the upcoming world cup. The man wets his shirt at the end of each game. He has a very elegant ball control. He is highly versatile being able to play up front, on the wing or as a supporting forward. The guy is UP THERE for me. Without him, half of my interest in the current squad would go to oblivion. Enough with the rant any way. ![]() Back on topic: Ameobi should NOT be given the opportunity to smell SE shirt. What a hypocrite. |
My prefered line-up would be: 1) Enyeama; 13) Odiah, 2) Yobo, 17) Adeleye, 3) Taiwo; 14) Olofinjana, 10) Mikel Obi, 16) K. Uche; 11) Osaze, 15) I. Uche, 18) Nsofor. I don't care what you guys say about Mikel. He is one of the best players we have out there. And thanks to Chelsea, he is starting to get some international level experience. Can't wait for Rades!! |
Adeniyi's pick: 1. Cameroon 2. Nigeria 3. Egypt 4. Ghana 5. Côte d'Ivoire That's how I see it ending. Egypt are a huuuuge disappointment to me, for now anyway; so is Cameroon. ![]() |
I really don't grasp the need of such harsh words some people on this discussion board tend to use, ![]() My reaction to this video was --> Yeah, surprised. I was searching for "White Nigerians" on google and stumbled across this vid on youtube. As a Nigerian - who left the country for more than 10 years now - I was curious to know if some people of European decent had the Nigerian citizenship, just like you have Whites in Zimbabwe or Angola. ![]() |
No, I'm in France - the info is written just beneath my pseudo. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. I'll just follow the match via texting, |
Where can I watch the match Nigeria vs France ? ![]() They're playing. And please, don't tell me fifa.com; it's like the server doesn't want me to have fun tonight. Edit : It's 2-1 now for the girls !! I need to watch this match online !! Anyone ready to be a hero tonite ? lol |
Argentina deserves the gold. No need to blush, my fellow Nigerians. ![]() Though this lads made the whole country wake up early with no result at the end of the feat !! ![]() |
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |
Did anyone here notice the NARUTO soundtrack playing just as the players entered the tunnel ? ![]() It's the second time I'm hearing it in these games. First time was during the swimming competitions. |
I saw that one in for an instant. |
