For SA 2010, all things remaining equal (no injuries), my final 23 would include: - Ike Uche instead of Kanu (he'll be an honorary member of the technical staff) - Obasi instead of Eneramo - Adeleye instead of Nwaneri - S. Sodje instead of Shittu - Olubayo instead of Yusuf Mohammed - Lukman Haruna instead of Etuhu My real issue is with our midfield. ![]() I don't know who else could be a vital addition to the current team. . . Ibrahim is not mature yet and the good midfielders of the U-17/20 teams are not experienced on an international level. What do you guys think? |
So I guess this is the line up we will be seeing in action: 1. Enyeama 21.Odiah 2.Yobo(c) 5.Nwaneri 16.Echiejile 13.Ayila 10.Mikel 14.Olofinjana 11.Odemwingie 8.Aiyegbeni 9.Martins Subs: 12.Ejide, 23.Aiyenugba; 6.Shittu, 15.Apam, 22.Mohammed, 3.Taiwo; 17.Kaita; 20.Etuhu 7.Uche, 4.Kanu; 19.Eneramo, 18.Nsofor. My pick ![]() 1. Enyeama 21.Odiah 2.Yobo(c) 15.Apam 3.Taiwo 11.Odemwingie 13.Ayila 10.Mikel 18.Nsofor 9.Martins 8.Aiyegbeni |
So, any news on Martins? It was today that we were supposed to know if he passed the fitness test or not. Sadly, kickoff has a server issue. No info. |
Bonne année 2010, les gens!! ![]() |
deb:lol. . Pathetic replies. . . that's all you can offer because Sagamite owned you and all the other naysayers on this thread. You have no proper argument that can back up your lazy-@ss assessments: "Mozambique qualified Nigeria for the WC 2010; Amodu is not a good coach; we needs a Braziliano coachzzz". https://i46.tinypic.com/2uz6wew.png Amodu's tactical choices aren't my favourite but he has done his main task which was to qualify Nigeria for SA 2010. We have 6 months to go before the competition starts and the 1st and most decisive hurdle is the Afcon in Angola. Let's judge then. |
azeeza:Apparently, the last spot will be between Martins and Obasi. Martins is yet to pass a fitness test in Durban that would validate his ticket to Angola. In that case, Obasi takes it in the crotch. . . ![]() Meanwhile, Eneramo has his ticket secured; go figure. oxford:Adeleye is fit. Shittu hasn't played squat this season. Therefore, Adeleye > Shittu. oxford:Yusuf who? Records? Sorry, not clicking. . ![]() oxford:If it is Nwaneri, then we might as well pull out of the competition when it is still time. https://i47.tinypic.com/rachhs.gif oxford:Hopefully, he'll never have to play because if so, it would mean the team is in dire need of Lucozade Boost. The qualifers? Well, does running around the touchline screaming "abeg, shoot dee ball !" count? If so, you got your answer. oxford:Politics. Oh wait. . . https://i50.tinypic.com/2qtgvmx.gif |
*Bump* Awesome thread is awesome. |
Finally some good info. ![]() My biggest surprises are the exclusion of Adeleye and the inclusion of. . . . . ENERAMO. https://i46.tinypic.com/2uz6wew.png |
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-373734.0.html This thread was a waste. Thanks again, Kickoff Nigeria, for sharing hasty info from an unreliable source. ![]() |
deb:Encouragement is out of the question, especially when the same folks said that the website will be "the best one in the [motherf'ing] world"! ![]() What's up with that? |
[s]Here's the link to the latest news update: http://www.kickoff.com/static/news/article.php?id=13063 A total of 7 players were dropped out of the team leaving for Durban this afternoon. Remaining 25 players. I'm quite stunned M. Amodu decided to leave out Olubayo, Ajilore and Adeleye. [/s]THAT ARTCILE WAS B.S. AT ITS FINEST. THAT WAS FALSE INFO. Amodu has named a 24-man squad. Here's the link to the thread in which you can discuss about the SE squad >> https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-373734.0.html |
Yussuf Atanda Ayila not sure to get a spot? Choosing Eneramo over Aiyegbeni and Obasi. . . https://i46.tinypic.com/2uz6wew.png https://i48.tinypic.com/11kwghw.jpg |
mrperfect: faakay: feyisara:Are you guys BS'ing me or what ![]() The website is H. O. R. R. E. N. D. O. U. S., an eyesore. Should I remind you that the NFF website is supposed to be the OFFICIAL website for Nigerian football, which reflects the image our football organization to the rest of the world?? This. . . this is madness! https://i47.tinypic.com/207uvs9.png It looks like an amateur website that was whipped up in half an hour. I'm still in shock. . . Appalling spectacle. Here is what I call a real professional website >>> http://www.fff.fr/ |
Kay 17:Quoted for truth. Religion is the prime suspect that brings havoc in the country. Tribalism is a close second. . . |
My 11 would have been: VAN DER SAR D.ALVES PUYOL VIDIC EVRA ESSIEN XAVI INIESTA MESSI ETO'O C.RONALDO |
My top 5 would be: 1. Usain Bolt 2. Zinedine Zidane 3. Michael Phelps 4. Roger Federer 5. Haile Gebrselassie Honourable mentions: Sébastien Loeb, Valentino Rossi, Lance Armstrong & Michael Schumacher. |
Song plays a more fluid passing game, he's quicker to the ball but lacks the stamina Mikel has. Also, the latter has a better passing accuracy record. Overall, I'd pick Mikel in my squad. |
Personally, I believe Taiwo has more experience. He has been performing with Marseille and he's improving on his focus. He has Champions League experience. He has tremendous pace, a powerful left leg strike and is good in the air. Echiejile has raw talent but is still too frivolous for my liking. Besides, he doesn't even have 1st team shirt with Rennes. Rennes. . . (9th of the domestic league at the moment) My SE starting 11 for Afcon: ENYEAMA ODIAH YOBO(c) APAM TAIWO AYILA MIKEL OLOFINJANA OSAZE MARTINS OBINNA |
Sales baby owned this thread. ![]() |
Wow, Sagamite, you are truly awesome. ![]() I agree with most of the facts you exposed. S. Keshi is my favourite Naija coach after qualifying Togo for Germany 2006. No, scratch that, Siasi is actually my favourite Naija coach. What he did in Beijing was really gar. ![]() |
I also agree with OP. In our current SE squad he is the closest to being capable of endorsing the role of a creative midfield player. One thing though, Mikel seemed to do a great job in that position as well during the last match against Kenya. They both can occupy that position, but in terms of resolve, Osaze is 1 step ahead. . . |
sistawoman:My bad. . . I checked it out on wiki. Thx for pointing that out. ![]() |
You sound like some one who sleeps with sugar mummies.Update your language, lad. We say "cougar" nowadays. https://i45.tinypic.com/2mzcap.gif |
chuqudy:The USA, in association with McDonald's, has already put that plan into action. ![]() |
i'm 27, i love this girl but she's just 16.i've decided to be faithful to her but the sex urge comes at times. she's a virgin. should i go ahead n disvirgin her?https://i50.tinypic.com/2vv85fd.gif https://i45.tinypic.com/24pkv2e.jpg Well I'd be damned if this guy isn't a troll. https://i50.tinypic.com/2vv85fd.gif |
It depends which "public" exactly. I'd have no problems kissing my gf in France but when I was in Nigeria this summer, I found it difficult to exhibit any form of explicit passion, if you see what I mean. https://i47.tinypic.com/29ffmn7.gif |
Is Messi the best? - Individually speaking, nope, CR7 trumps him in pure speed, power and goal scoring efficiency. - With a team that plays total football, yes, Messi is the best. He needs the ball to circulate fluidly to shine, CR7 just needs the ball, period. |
OP is insecure. ![]() Very cheesy thread. I wonder if it is out of boredom this topic came about or because OP was burned by a "big madam". ![]() We all have our tastes, but creating a topic just to stigmatize a particular category of individuals is lame as hell. ![]()
I luv fat ladies and they have the sexiest upper laps that romantically hides their womanly orifice and leads u into adventurous curiosity
. . . . https://i49.tinypic.com/21e7o7t.gif |
Vote by heart: Nigeria. If I consider current form, CIV, no doubt. Dream final: CIV Vs Nigeria |
eldee:I get that a lot. People never seem satisfied with sequels. Same goes for Naruto Shippuden. A lot of fans keep saying it sucks compared to the original series. I guess people don't like series to last for too long. After 1 or 2 seasons they're like "stoooop, its losing its basic concept". Scratch that. Bring me more! ![]() I can never get bored of HIMYM. It is waaay too AWESOME! ![]() Besides, I still haven't seen Ted's wife. What's the point dropping the series before knowing how it ends? ![]() |
What has God have to do with our country's national football team? Seriously some people. . . |
I've always wondered why the y always organized the Afcon every 2 years each January. Every 4 years each January is the best solution for me. |
