Please, like how long is the process time?
MideBrains:
Hi.

I can totally relate.

I got an offer from Humber in February 2023. Here is the right procedure to download your payment invoice and make payment.

Step 1: log in to MyHumber (humber.ca/myhumber), select Student, then select Student & Fees, click on Tuition and Fees Quote, and then click View Fee Quote and download.

Step 2: Once downloaded, Open it- you will see a break down of your fees by semester. You only need to pay first semester fees as tuition deposit.

Step 3: Create a Paynent on Flywire (Humbers Official International payment partner)

If you scroll doen that same invoice document, you'll see 'payment options for international students' . If you are going through form A, the right payment option is INTERNATIONAL PAYMENTS.

Under this option, You will see a link. Click on it. Scroll down to 'Payments Options'. Select 'Pay Through Flywire' Then folloe the step by step instructions to pay, fill in all necessary details. Then under payment method select 'BANK TRANSFER' since you are using form A.

Once you are done, you'll see or receive a PDF doc titeled PAYMENT INSTRUCTION. This contains payment instructions you will enter in your form A online application . E. G bank account details, amount, sort code, etc.

Step 4: Gather your docs for Form A Application.

I used my dad's bank account so I submitted these documents :

Intl passport data page
Offer letter from Humber
First degree certificate
Debit instruction written by my dad to his bank
Humber Invoice
Flywire Payment Instruction
Humber Letter of Authorization
Evidence of relationship between my dad and I e.g Family photos, Utility Bill, Sponsor NIN etc.

These requirements vary from. Bank to bank. Depending on yojr program. Some banks dont accept graduate certificate programs. E. G first bank. I cant advise you on what bank to use. Some naira landers have mentioned GTB, UBA, Zenith in some threads.

Step 5: Apply online. Create an account on CBN'S Trade Monitoring Systems portal. If your BVN or your sponsor's BVN hasn't been linked to your current email, you may not be able to create an account.

If you try to do thiw, it tells you you need to link youe BVN, please visit your Bank to do it.

Step 6: FIll the online application.

Take your time to enter the details correctly in your FormA application. Once you've submitted your form A, please take hardcopy to the bank and follow up with them aggressively.

Goodluck. I wish you all the best and I hope to connect with you at Humber this year by His Special Grace. 😊🙏🏾

Thanks for the response
technix:
It depends on the length of study and the validity of passport.

If your program ends after Feb 2025, then the validity of the visa would have been longer. In this case, you can renew the visa/study permit while in Canada even if your visa expires in Feb 2025.

If your program ends before Feb 2025, then the validity of your passport wouldn't have made much difference cos you would be applying for a postgraduate work permit immediately your program ends.

Good afternoon guys,

Please, I'd like to confirm how many years IRCC usually gives for Study Permit.

I'm going for a 1year program, and the Visa expires same time as my passport, which is in Feb 2025. So I was wondering if the visa validity would've been longer if my passport expiry date was farther.

Good morning my beautiful people!

Please I have a couple of questions.

1) How can one get PR with a 1-year study permit

2) If one should consider transferring to a 2 year program after starting the 1-year program, how would you go about notifying CIC.

Would making such changes have a negative impact?

Which are the host organisations they've been talking about? Is there a list? Who knows these organizations?

4th trial within what period? Have you ordered GCMS note? Based on your history with IRCC, it would be better to get the whole picture before suggesting ways to approach your application. Addressing the financial aspect does not mean that they will not refuse the application on another factor. However, I would recommend the following:
Pay at least a semester of tuition fee
Open a GIC account and transfer $10K if you can afford to
Ensure the program is related to your present occupation
Provide sufficient proof of relationship with the sponsor, e.g., pictures taken during family events, proof of communications, evidence of previous support, birth certificates, and highlight his name in any of your application and civil documents.

It is possible to provide the necessary documents but fail to connect the dots when arranging an application. So, the importance of an excellent SOP cannot be overemphasized in your situation. Also, consider using professional assistance; there are Acts, Regulations and Case laws that can be used to argue your case.
Thank you for your response. Would I need to state the source of funds in my GIC?

Happy new year everyone!

OGs in this house, please come to my aid.

In my last study permit application, I was refused visa due to unsatisfactory assets/insufficient funds for travel. Then I used mpower loan and a deposit of 3m gift deed from an Aunty who was also standing as my sponsor. This was in June.

I'm about to apply again, with my sibling as my sponsor. He runs a business and the tuition fees and living expenses would take half of the balance in his account.

Please, how do I put my best foot forward in this case.
Suggestions from anyone on what and what I need to do/documents to present would be much appreciated.

This would be my 4th trial. Same reason for refusal. After this I dnt think I'll be gingered to try again.

Basic training and vibes as in? Could you explain better

Don’t fall for this. 6 months training after which you’d be required to pay back 2m naira for when you start working.

The laptop you’d be provided with will be returned also.

Just company swags, basic training and vibes

Hmmm.. This feeling of being rejected isn't funny.
I applied March 22, only to be served breakfast on June 16th.

Reason:
Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee.

My Tuition fee was about #43k for a 1 year program
POF: cad $ 11,000 in savings and cad $50,000 study loan.

I thought this was sufficient, since the total covers everything.

Please, gurus in the house, any advice on how to fire back with a stronger application would be much appreciated. What I have done differently?

Hi guys!
I got offer of admission in February, and submitted my study visa application on March 22 2022. My classes started in May. I had to defer the admission to next year, and I got a new admission letter. I would like to know if I'm supposed to upload the new admission letter to my application or wait to receive a decision for my current application before sending the update to CIC if need be?

Hi Everyone,

I have a sponsor that would pay my tuition fee for Spring. And I already have deed of gift for living expenses from same person.

Also, I have a loan to cover my tuition fee for Spring.

Another loan to cover the tuition fee for the rest of the program, i.e for Fall/Winter.

Pls guys, what would be the best option to providing a convincing proof of funds?

Hello Iyke

You didn't state who is your main sponsor and Co-sponsor, but with your write up, I wanna assume your sibling is your main sponsor and your maternal Uncle's wife is your Co-sponsor...

Now, the deed gift is very important and the money can be sent to your account and let it be clearly stated in your documents what that amount is meant for i.e Tuition fees, Living expenses e.t.c. Make sure your Sponsor states this in his or her Letter of sponsorship, that a particular amount has been sent to the applicant's account purposely for the tuition or living expenses as the case may be, make sure the particular amount is mentioned and if necessary the date of the transaction, this will eliminate the concerns of lump sum..

You should also reciprocate this in your Proof of funds/Finance section in your SOP, also draw their attention to the gift deed.. Make sure you both are well detailed in your explanation..

I hope this helps..

Peace

Thank you so much for the clarification.
I would've loved to speak with you. I have lots of questions. I can't afford to make any mistakes in the application. I'm guessing some of my questions would have been answered previously. But I joined recently and time's not on my side.

To address the issue of sponsorship. My sibling seem to be the co-sponsor. The gift deed from him only covers living expenses.

While the bulk of the money i.e tuition of at $43k is from my aunt, thus making her the main sponsor.

Or would it be better she stands as the only sponsor and send the living expenses to my acc, then state in the letter that the tuition would be sent once I arrive Canada.

Good evening my awesome people,

Please, I need suggestions. I have a very short time frame. My school resumes in May.

For my proof of funds, I want to include Gift deed of cad $11000 from my sibling and maternal Uncle's wife would stand as my sponsor.

Does she need to send the money to my account and I indicate the source in my SOA or I should just get a letter of sponsorship.

Also for the gift deed, would it be better to transfer it to a Canadian student account?

Pls , I need answers on how best to present a strong application. It's urgent.

Regards!

Give it a trial you might be lucky to get approved before your start date and if you don't get the visa before your start date, you can defer to the next available date.

The NSE route is no more functional, I will advice you to use the new potal.

Thanks Dave.

Hello Iykevirgo

NSE isn't functional, you will have to defer your admission to a later date..

Or better still you can apply via the new portal as it has been assumed to get faster response as regards final decision..

Peace

Thanks for the response. Do I still need the gckey for this new portal?

Pls,what and waht do I need to do. Iyam panicking.
So much information flying around! sad cry

My good people of CA travels! I greet una grin
Please, I have a bit of an issue and I would like to get suggestions from you guys.
I just received my admission acceptance letter, and the session begins May 2.

Considering the time-frame for processing study visa, I'm worried it may not arrive on time going by the normal application.
Then again, I would've have considered the NSE option, but I dont have IELTS.

Please, I need advice on how best to proceed.
