You saw the way that lady cooking for her husband went viral as a result of Nigerians jumping on oyibo culture wars. Problem though is the man is not poor enough. If he was and he was asking for 50k,by now he would actually have over 2m. Nigerians hardly succumb to begging. Ask yourself; When last did you send a dime to someone begging online? The lady that cooked did not beg. She just made a tweet in favour of men, and men decided to spoil her to spite feminists. You are right tho, that if the right people reason you, you go blow. But you see begging online? Nigerians no dey emotional to that one |

The pastor and his wife can postpone the celebration and the ground will not open to swallow them; in fact the family of the deceased will appreciate them for behaving like true Christians.

BlueRayDick: The woman's birth date is 8th January 1964; she clocked 60 in January . If she can shift the celebration till February because she was globetrotting , nothing stops her from postponing it cos of Wigwe's death.
The celebration was insensitive as at that time and it's obvious the Wigwe's didn't appreciate that. They have rightly locked the church out of the week-long program to celebrate the man. If the people cannot feel the church is with them through their trying moments , then the church has lost its course . Simple !
We've gone past access not closing down. U are the only one that knows why u keep repeating that line like it will change anything . So in 9 days, you knew that the church was not with the Wigwe's family? The greatest insensitivity here is how a company cannot honour its boss at all. If nobody can drag them for that, let Mummy rest abeg |

Theflint1: Opening up for business the very next day is quite different from an individual (a major stakeholder) in the church going ahead with a part days after Wigwe died. I'm sure any of Wigwes fellow majority stakeholders at Access that had a good relationship with Wigwe would likely not have gone ahead with a party days after Wigwes death. Why is it different? A man and his family dies today, and then his salesgirl opens up the very next morning for business This is not insensitive to you? |

Theflint1: I expect the church to stay open cause it serves a purpose that's bigger than Wigwe or any of the stakeholders of the church, same way Access Bank does, but going ahead with the birthday is quite personal. Although one might consider expenses and bookings that have been made ahead of the birthday...will they start making losses on all of that?

BlueRayDick: I know what u are trying to do with this question . But before u go far let me just tell u what I believe .
If a member of a church dies untimely and in a tragic way ; irrespective of whether the person is rich or poor the church leadership should be seen as mourning with the member's family. This should reflect in their actions and deeds ; not just by word of mouth. Their Bible says they should weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. They decided to rejoice while the Wigwes were weeping .
The belated birthday celebration wasn't a do or die affair . Postponing the celebration or cancelling it entirely would have been better than going ahead with it. The pastor and his wife simply didn't act based on the Bible they preach to people every Sunday. There's a time for everything . They messed up. Simple ! And how do we know they didn't weep for 9 whole days? Like...At what point should we now permit the Pastor's wife to celebrate her own birthday? If you cannot find any fault with a whole Access bank that could not mourn their CEO, why you wan tear this woman stainless white dress? Your CEO and family died, and all they could do was issue a flyer, but we should crucify the Pastor and his wife for celebrating 9 days later BlueRayDick, fear God naa |

BlueRayDick: Access cannot close its business for a day because the law expects them to serve their customers whose businesses will be impacted by their closure on a weekday that is not a public holiday .
The church on the other hand is not governed by any law that says such ; neither will the pastor's wife birthday cancellation/postponement harm anybody's business .
Wigwe was a pastor in the same church ; that should count for something at least.
U know what u are doing here is false equivalence . The pastor and his family messed up and that explains why the Wigwe family excluded them from the funeral plans . Not even service of songs ; they just treated them like strangers and fixed every Lagos program to be held at Eko Hotels
The funny thing is so many people whose faith were shaking before now have bee provided a reason to give up on the faith with the pastor and his wife's act . If the Security man had died, and the Pastor's wife celebrated her birthday days later, would you be this angry? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 4:38pm On Mar 03, 2024 |
BlueRayDick: Access is a business entity owned by shareholders whom Wigwe is one of . Access is regulated by CBN and other government agencies .
The issue is not over flogged one bit! If the church leadership can't be empathetic over the death of a member , then the church has lost its place as the succor of a common man.
Morally the birthday party celebration was an unwise move on the part of the pastor and his family . Wigwe was even a fellow pastor o. Wigwe was not just a floor member in the church , he was a pastor .
If a church would not care about optics ; how then do they intend to win lost souls? We can still say the exact same for City of David. If Access decides to close its doors for one day, just to honour Wigwe, everyone, including the customers will understand. I mean, the CEO, wife and child just died yesterday.... But No, they acted like the guy never existed. And then we want to kill the Pastor's wife for celebrating her birthday, days after. Ahn Ahn. Let us be fair naa.. Maybe if the Pastor's daughter was getting married days after, they will cancel the wedding too. |

His church depends on the goodwill and largess of all the big name members. Even more so today when everyone is feeling the squeeze.

BlueRayDick: Lolz . U are comparing a business ( a going concern ) like access bank with a church ? Really ?
A church is like a moral compass!! Why do u think the story of Good Samaritan was emphasized in the Bible ? A priest and a Levite saw a man beaten and injured by a thief and they passed him over trying to avoid wahala . But a Samaritan who is generally not regarded as godly took it upon himself not only to tend to the injured man, took him to an inn, paid for his cost of hospitalization and even promised to pay whatever additional cost May accrue when he comes back.
There was a reason he was labelled " Good Samaritan" cos he did what was morally right at that point. He behaved better than a priest who was more like an ordained pastor and a Levite whose tribe were chosen to serve God in their works and deeds.
A lot of people will lose their faith with the act of this pastor & his family whether u believe it or not Why will i not compare the business with the church? His own business did not deem it fit to shut down for one minute. They opened the very next day to receive money and collect charges. Nobody is dragging them for that But somehow, we want the Pastor's wife to be crucified for having her birthday party days after Wigwe died (How she celebrated it is a different case) For me, this issue is just overflogged. I can understand the initial shouts, but it is starting to look like an agenda. Why is nobody dragging Access for not honouring Wigwe? |

The ocassion was the 60th birthday of the pastor's wife on 18th February 2024. Herbert Wigwe died on 9th February 2024 and somehow the pastor and his wife went ahead to celebrate the pastor's wife's extravagant birthday 9 days after .
Below is the account of a member's opinion of who Herbert Wigwe was to them in that church .
Personally, I believe there's everything wrong with the pastor's wife's birthday party celebration. The fact that the woman was actually born in January and she postponed the party to February means she could as well have postponed it further after the tragedy of Wigwe's death. If she postpones it, and somebody dies again before the date, wetin she for do? Even the Access bank opened their branches the very next day after he died. They didn't even close for one day to honour Wigwe. I think this issue may be overflogged. |

Imagine being at a meeting with fellow bosses and one of them openly insults you. Your loyal omo ise who is sitting at the door gets up to protest on your behalf, asking why dem go insult his boss.
You being the cool calculating boss not wishing to inflame that particular moment, downplays the act, and asks your boy why he would dare assume the other boss was insulting him.
What do you think your omo ise does in that situation?
A. Apologises for talking out of turn B. Begs forgiveness for interrupting but stays alert for a potential fight C.
