GloriousGbola: Thank you. I was going to post this. It is insanity to have people working on an EXPRESSWAY. the whole point of an express is for you to drive at high speed. It is why you have Kai on ground to arrest people who do not cross the bridge.
The logical thing is to do all cleaning at night, but since there are no working floodlights here we are.
Eventually someone will countersue lasg
Was there a zebra crossing? A stop sign? Do people clean expressways during rush hour in civilized countries?
You cannot claim that it is reckless driving on an expressway. Everybody will blame the driver, but the truth is those cleaners have no business staying on the expressway. That is an expressway for heaven's sake. Standing on the kerbside is risky, talk more of on the lane, sweeping. |

BlueRayDick: Damn!
I don't know if it's just me, but most times I see those road cleaners at work I always feel their job is too risky considering the number of reckless drivers we have on the roads in Lagos. So many impatient drivers who just want to use the smallest space to overtake other road users; just one reckless swerve and they will knock down a cleaner who already placed a cone by the side of the road for protection.
I doubt Lagos state has any reasonable compensation for cleaners who die in active service like that. But in what sane world will someone stand on an Expressway and be sweeping? I am not putting this on the dead; May God accept their souls and console their families, but this was a disaster waiting to happen? Why would you give someone a broom, to be sweeping the edges of a lane where cars are doing 100km/h? This is not to hold any brief for the driver. |

swiz123: If democracy must work in this doomed impoverished country, Bsc or a diploma should be the minimum requirement to cast a vote. I don't believe my vote should weigh the same with an ignorant man ekeing it out daily in his farm at ezzamgbo, Ebonyi state or a village in Taraba state.
In my village, people there including my grandmom voted for candidates supported by then LGA chairman who was a known thief because he brings trailer load of rice every December. This is a man who terrorised the village by selling their lands and robbing those whose diaspora sons brought home hard currencies. He made money, built up connection and became a grassroot political godfather and people supported him because of bags of rice. Full bag of rice between 1999 to 2011, half bag between 2011 to 2019 and now quarter bag.
Very soon, he will use derica of rice to maintain his "political structure". The country is doomed already. This advice take style come late. |

swiz123: You wouldn't type this if you knew that no one owes you kindness. People laugh in class when a funny answer is given and if you have issues, you should sort it out yourself and stop seeking to control people's reaction.
If such person choose to commit suicide, then it's their choice. Aptly put. I guess our parents knew this and when we came to complain about being laughed at, they told us to dry our eyes, told us good things about us and reminded us it was just a joke. They knew they couldn't control the emotions and actions of the world Today, this is labelled as traumatisation of a child. |

And they use it.

Now all of a sudden we have people speaking out of the other sides of their mouths about the effects of internet bullying. Pick a struggle and stop being a hypocrite. liveLongNprospa: Again You are dealing with a human. Someone who has their own way of interpreting situations. You cannot call someone weak because they are affected by something you consider beneath you. How you look at something is not the measurement of that thing. Like I said. Alot of us here have kids that will grow up in this same world and when you realise it will take more than tough love to train your child.
This world is very very bleeped up now compared to what it was before and people are learning to be alot more expressive than before.
Me wey dey talk Don see enough shege and yet I don't look down on people who have things that causes them trauma. Maybe you never dey responsible for person death indirectly to see how it will mess with you.
To have be able to handle shit goes beyond punching down on someone because of what you perceive as weakness. I have not punched down anybody. I have only asked why someone will think of suicide just because someone laughed at them. My own child will definitely laugh at some other child when they make mistakes. Should that child kill himself too? Is being laughed at a good reason to kill yourself? If you believe so, then that was the sole reason for this discussion. |

liveLongNprospa: I'm sorry but this is stupid.
Alot of you will have children in this same world and I look forward to the way you will deal with it and realise you kids still need the help.
Nawa sha. E go be like say simple respect of someone's feelings is too hard because it's alot simpler to be unkind. When the person actually commits suicide then you'll be acting surprised. Nawa You are actually making his point clearly. Why should someone contemplate suicide because someone laughed at them? I am sure the person that is suicidal has also laughed at people before Have you laughed at someone before? Definitely yes So imagine if every single person you laughed at killed themselves. Don't be sorry for your comment. You definitely made his point for him |
