Amoto94: “I assure you that no inch of this country will be allowed for bandits and insecurities. We will prioritize ease of doing business, infrastructure, power supply and distribution. I assure you Nigeria will succeed and prosper!”
-Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during KADINVEST 7.0
Did he say how he intends to achieve this?
Culer: this one go dey defend rubbish. Even when other otondos eye don dey open, you still choose to remain blind. Napoli sold their best center back replaced him with chinko (min Jae), lost insigne, replaced him with khvarastkehlia, bought anguissa, bought a new full back(forgotten his name)... Literally changed their entire line up! but to you mbaa, na only Barca get monopoly to gel first You're the most deluded Barca fan in this thread honestly.
nihilistjnr: Presidential Hopeful cannot proffer any solutions because there are none to offer.
How can Obi say what he intends to do when he doesnt have a single LP member in NASS. Not one. It was in front of our eyes that Saraki delayed Buhari's annual budged for almost 8 months. Like where do you even start from?
Obi knows this and what he's hoping to do is to freestyle and inshallah hoping he gets there and finds a way to roku something.
nihilistjnr: If you knew anything about your country, you would understand why cutting salaries of NASS members is anything but simple. The Nigerian Constitution as defined by the NASS you're talking about said this about their Renumeration Package
"A member of the Senate or of the House of Representatives shall receive such salary and other allowances as Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission may determine" - Nigerian Constitution chapter 5-part 1 section 70 http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm
In other words the only body that can define NASS Salary by law is RMAFC
Now, RMAFC members comprise of (a) a Chairman; and (b) one member from each State of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja who in opinion of President are persons of unquestionable integrity with requisite qualification and experience.
By virtue of Sections 154(1) and 156(3) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended), Members of the Commission are appointed by the President subject to the confirmation of the Senate for a period of five (5) years https://rmafc.gov.ng/establishing-law/
Essentially, NASS determine who can set their salary, not the President. So how is President Obi going to get NASS to agree to cut down on their wages?
If you spent more time actually understanding the huge mess facing that country, instead of training your gag reflex on virtual phallus, maybe you would be able to understand why a lot of us here are not buying Obi's middling soundbites.
Hmmmmmm..
I wonder how the cutting cost of wages would happen.
You, a citizen was able to pull out this problem from your computer, but Obi needs to win election to discover it.
liveLongNprospa: I gave you few solutions I think and told you that he would get into government to fully understand the scale of this current oil stealing.
This is not like what anyone has done before. Buhari na minister of Petroleum and till now we are only just knowing about the levels of stealing going on.
Tony Elumelu came on twitter to scream because my guy was wondering how field that was suppose to produce 200k BD was losing over 80%.
Let nobody lie to you. This level of oil theft is unprecedented
And thats why i dont want us to debate about anything: It is your solution.
But if a presidential hopeful is waiting to win before he knows the solution, we are heading for another disaster.
Like i said, i have seen this movie before
liveLongNprospa: You should probably go read what I wrote when I first replied you. Everything you've said is known but yet we don't know all the players.
Since APC came in, we have gone below what we produce... How is that possible.. Doesn't that tell you and every other person that APC took this level of crude stealing to a different level...
In August we lost a whopping 3million barrels... For the first time since civilian rule we didn't make a dime from oil boom..
Even the people that steal have not seen this level of oil stealing before.
Izzou how is that hard for you to understand?
You are repeating the problem, again and again.
I am asking for the solution....And the solution you gave me is to repeat the problem.
Your next quote will be to repeat the problem again. Just watch
liveLongNprospa: Read what I wrote again.. I never said he doesn't know anything.. I said he would know everything when he gets in.. I have gone on to say this campaign is 4months long and he will talk more on these issues.
But if you honestly believe the man who is known to cut and save like a stingy person won't do anything.. Then I'd advice you don't bother having this convo coz it seems you are convinced Nigeria is doomed..
So I can't help you .
When you think the country has hope then come back and have a conversation with me
I actually don't hold you responsible for Obi's plans so i won't debate with you. You are just like me; people hoping to be served.
But if you really think the problem of oil theft can be solved by Investigation and Addressing, then i really cant help you
This is an old doc of oil thefts in the SS. Almost everybody has their hands in the cookie jar. Even the bunkerers go as far as Cotonou to sell it, as it is a more profitable market.
I am not even a president, but there are enough answers everywhere and on the streets to work with, yet Obi needs to go in first, before he has answers.
I have seen this movie before. It was in 2015 i watched it
Lets be honest, would you know the scope of the problem fully without proper access? The government is known for propaganda and I don't expect OBI or even atiku to provide a proper solution until they are inside.
So let's wait.. Atleast he was the first presidential candidate amongst the main 2 (him and atiku ) to talk about the fact government is responsible for stealing oil.
Campaign just started and he'll talk more about it. God will keep us till then
If you don't know Nigeria's problem before being inside, you really should not be there.
All i see is a man who would get there, and begin to sing the problems for the next 8 years (We have seen this movie before)
Obi is not coming to solve anything, my brother
GloriousGbola: the foreign oil firms have mostly pulled out of the creeks. it is now the problem of our indigenous oil firms. which may be why we are not hearing communities complaining about oil spills that much anymore. Nigerians know the score
That's true.
I just find it weird that this guy just comes on air and gives a shallow overview as a solutuon, when we know this problems has deep roots one can imagine.
"We will investigate and address"
Investigate wetin? As if the oil thieves are hiding in a hole
Hope to my God to look out for me and watch this country turn to whatever it wants to turn to.
Obi is just telling stories. Oil theft needs the cooperation of both the oil firms, to the security to even the local communities and even the foreign clients.
liveLongNprospa: The funding will come from cutting cost of governance and removal of fuel subsidy.. Atleast that's what I believe.
But he hasn't been asked that question and might give a different reply to that.
As for the second question.. I believe the restructuring of our security architecture should help plug that gap. The thing about oil theft is we've currently have our security personnel colluding with external people to move this amount of oil.
Before with just creek boys stealing, we were still hitting the required 2m barrels average daily.
So what I believe would be a return to that at first and then reducing the theft to the barest minimum by ensuring any drop in pressure is investigated and addressed. So even if there's oil theft, it would be minimal and not what we have now under APC.
Atleast this is what I'm thinking.. Again he could answer in a different way when asked.
Also I believe he would make NNPC actually do their job.
What I am interested in is how Obi would handle the environmental degradation in the ND.. Who will he hold accountable to drive that process?
I really don't want to ask further, because its your opinion, and not Obi
But to be very honest, this man has no plans YET.
The only thing that makes him better than the rest is that they haven't said anything too.
But to be honest, we are heading for another E be like say (2 face feat Soul E) tenure.
