OkpaNsukkaisBae: Dis wan wey u dey tackle DonJ. I don't knw abt North or West. Here in ma state, my local govt 4 e.g many PDP community/Ward level leaders (not people wey dem PDP deny ticket) don port go LP... People no dey attend political rallies or walk with their PVC. Besides, we all saw the INEC stats dis year.. turn out 4rm d youths were massive.
You're @ liberty to predict d result, who'd win or lose but no come dey give bad energy to d movement.
Dia is a reason Atiku is aligning d top politicians 4rm NW, @ d right time, I'd predict that Kwankwaso will step down 4 A.A.
Today na Sunday bros.
Make una no vex say I talk down on the March past.
larride: Hon Lasun, Osun State LP candidate was the former Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives representing Osogbo, Olorunda, Orolu and Ifepodun federal constituencies and he got a meager 3k votes.
Can you imagine...
If he contested in APC, he would get more. The same for PDP
It shows clearly here that the man is not the issue here.
The party has no organised structure in that state.
But...But....let us march to create awareness...
Hopefully, INEC would dedicate some percentages for marches.
donjazet: Decentralization doesn't just mean that Obi himself doesn't have an organized campaign structure, it just means that, besides him there are numerous campaigns being organized on multiple fronts to support him. Something the other campaigns lack and I know they will tell you campaign season hasn't began but the fact that Obidients already have a headway is an advantage.
This is the first time you see individuals donating buildings, campaign paraphernalia and other branded materials for a Nigerian political candidate.
All these walks and rallies being held for obi are even without his knowledge or approval. It's the people seizing the initiative to do it on their own. You can not say it doesn't count.
If LP had an organized structure, they won't pull less than 3000 in Osun
I am not putting that on Obi. I'm just telling how insignificant the party is in Osun. And it will be the same in many states.
When people say structure, it's not necessarily about buildings..
It's a coordinated formation of people listed under you, that are pledged to the cause of the party.
Tinubu can tell you the least number of votes he will get from Kaduna state. Atiku can do same.
donjazet: So you are using personal anecdotes to judge obi's electoral performance??
I can personally tell you that my entire family members and by that I mean my entire extended relatives in Nigeria, numbering more than 200 have their PVCs. Both my parents and uncles and aunts who voted Atiku last election, na them carry Obi matter for head now.
I can tell you all my relatives on both sides used our family Whatsapp groups to ensure that every single person got their PVCs. We are now 2 in my family that have now actually got involved in labor party politics.
That's what you call a personal anecdote. The very 1st March held for obi. I was there with many others. We all had our PVCs.
So this narrative of marches don't mean anything is very false. The imagery and galvanizing of support is very evident and helpful to the movement.
Is there a LP unit in your LG?
Is there a coordinated effort to have meetings weekly, so you can know those that have PVCs?
Or we should just be marching week in and week out?
I don't think you know what is at stake here
Forget your family, bros. They are not in one place, and they are 200. We need about 18 million to win.
donjazet: Bros, who told you that there are no efforts to galvanize supporters to get their PVC, I mean those who haven't collected theirs?
This Obi campaign is decentralized, which means that soo many different people are doing soo many different things for him without him even knowing.
We've literally seen how he has gone from a relative nobody who everyone flashed aside to being a name on every lips right now.
The first step in politics is awareness and name recognition and Obi has achived that spectacularly within just 4 months, what makes you think the supporters don't have their PVCs? You're literally not making sense. I've said it numerously that you lack serious conviction.
The first flaw is decentralisation.
You cannot be decentralised when you need accurate organization to win.
There is a reason parties channel their efforts to one region or state or people more than the other. It does not necessarily mean they hate them. It's to achieve a goal of getting the "highest number".
There has to be a coordinated plan to know what we have, and what we should reach out to. I don't see that in LP
I just hope you won't lament when you see what you ordered vs what you got.
donjazet: You're still not making sense. What makes you think that these people who devoted their time and resources to come out and show their support for Peter Obi don't already have their PVC??
What metric are you using to judge whether they have PVCs or not? Abi you didn't see the millions of new voters who rushed to get their PVCs after the massive sensitization efforts of the Obidients in the last 3 months.
I told you that in the Ward I registered, I got to find out that the APC women leader in that ward paid 25k to INEC officials to come and do that registration on that day
So she paid it for free abi?
Maybe everybody around you have PVCs. They don't, around me.
A lot of them are still shouting Obidients, without PVCs, especially females.
I hope you don't cry rigging when out of 1 million marches, you see 13k votes.
BlueRayDick: All I’m saying is that Wike is a political neophyte not to have seen that Atiku-Tambuwal card playing . He was seeing everything in black and white while things are not like that in national politics .
Do u know how many times Atiku had moved against Obasanjo as his VP and Obasanjo survived ? Atiku was going to get Obasanjo impeached by the house of assembly and Obasanjo had to change the leadership of the house as often as possible ? Na people wey sabi game be that , not the loose mouthed Wike
I watched a video of one Lagos politician commenting about PYO and BAT before the primaries.
He said while PYO is a presidential material, he cannot win BAT because people like BAT have been paying their dues for years to the grassroots and even other politicians before now. It would be difficult to turn their backs on him.
Atiku is not a small boy in politics. A woman appointed by BuuBuu said Atiku is her godfather. Who was Wike when Atiku was VP and running the show with OBJ as far back as 99 to 07?
Suddenly, Wike don become don.
Wike cannot even influence votes from the entire SS. Only Rivers state and he's holding press conferences everywhere.
I was at a bar with some friends.
Two of us were Pro-Obi while one was BATified.
After debating on our various candidates, the other Obi guy didn't have PVC....but e carry Obi for head pass.
An LP candidate in Osun got less than 3000 votes. That man is not a kid. If he lists all the people that know him in Osun State personally, they should exceed 1000 sef. Yet, less than 3000 were willing to thumbprint.
Marches don't mean anything. Na who get card and go come out vote be the MoTM
donjazet: I read this post like 5 times to make sense of it and I really couldn't. I wanted to ignore but I said, surely one can't be this myopic.
Like, you don't know the galvanizing effect of seeing thousands of your fellow supporters coming out for a joint cause you all believe in? Like you don't know how these images are projecting an inspiration of hope to all nigerians who desperately want us to retire the 2 old parties?
The unique things about this OBIdient walks are the fact that people know that this is totally people oriented!
Nobody you see here was bought or paid for, maybe apart from renting speaker or lower logistics. Anyone you see here wearing OBIdient polo, cap T-shirt or other branded paraphernalia bought this with their own money.
The uniqueness of this match is that it isn't sponsored by any politician but by the people.
So yes!! The Statement and imagery is as powerful as can be.
You are very emotional, and it shows in all your choices I have witnessed online.
You always put your emotions before making decisions
I don't care if the movement organic or agricultural. It does not mean anything.. Absolutely nothing.
1 person with PVC is more valuable than 1 million people without PVC
PVC is the gamechanger.
Instead of marching aimlessly, let them gather under a tree and count how many of them have PVCs
That way, they can start evaluating how many votes Obi has, and how many they are looking for.
ixyi: Truly not all might have PVC but the awareness and confidence against intimidation from suppressive or subduing voices from those people, you know them, should not be underestimated all thanks to these rally.
For example, you have one vote yourself, but can actually influence more than 10 persons who before now would feel sceptical or afraid to express themselves in favour of positive change.
Bros, there's nothing to influence.
You know your stand. Just go on that day and thumbprint. No need for all these ones. If you have your PVC, you don't need to fight any suppression.
afrodoc: I wasn't sure it was the same person. It was a very honest question.
I wanted to get some more context to this his position that Wike will hold on to power after he leaves. If it is the same person it might mean he simply overestimates Wike's abilities.
larride: It's why I'm always laughing when donjazet dey ask everyone who they are going to vote for. Until they thumb print their ballot for your candidate, dont believe anyone will vote for your candidate.
It's all good sha, let people cash out.
Some will collect contract of DJ, some cooking, some logistics and the likes. Abeg make una dey do more march.
I won't be surprised to see that only one-tenth of that crowd have PVC
All these marches are meaningless and baseless. It adds absolutely nothing to the victory of any candidate.
Let's not forget that a lot of Nigerians are jobless. For souvenirs like Caps and Tees, many would march for any candidate
ixyi: I don't know why they disregarded the police directive but hopefully it'd proceed n end peacefully just like the others held in other states even with larger turnout. Anyways, all is mic testing.
These things translate to nothing, my brother
What will matter is how many people in the 1 million that have PVCs and are eligible to vote in Oyo state.
Uba had 240,000 votes in APC primary. He had 40,000 on the election day.
Do Obidients around have PVC? Are they willing to vote on Dday?
EmmanuelScott1: Buhari was the most disliked politician in the south east, even with IPOB threatens, man still campaigned in the east during 2019 election at Onitsha, nothing happened
Joe Igbokwe's relatives are still in Nnewi.
