That’s the life they live on Lagos island , it’s a 4cking racket. The least u will pay is 30k once those tout is uniform strikes .

The funny thing is u may even see vehicles parked in that same street not towed cos whoever is controlling that space rogers them
Steady .

For people who are government apologist and those who lap at every official jargon the government throws out to explain these things , they will think it’s normal for u to have ur vehicle towed since the place is not an authorized garage/park, but they don’t know it’s the hypocrisy of having some vehicles towed and others left as they are that is annoying . It will surprise u that some of those fines do not really get to the government’s coffers sef, but end up in pockets of touts and the so called enforcement agents
My annoyance with the whole thing

You pay a fine or toll to someone that will use it to smoke or drink, and carry olosho

Izzou how do you drive in Yaba abeg??

Na one way just full there
Use Google Maps.

Ask around before you enter any street or road

Look at how cars are parked. If they are facing one direction, it probably means its a one way.

Look out for road signs.

But the best option is Park your car at home and use public transport grin

Well, I’m not conversant with Ikeja axis like Lagos island sha .

I know for a fact that if u park for that Western house front, ur vehicle go don reach Lion Building before u even enter and settle
down for the place u dey go sef grin

On Lagos island most of those parking spaces are owned and administered by touts . If u don’t give them money , by the time
U come out of whatever office u are going u will look for ur vehicle and won’t find it…… u go check inside gutter sef u won’t find it.

Well, CBD will not allow u park on that kerb u just pointed out, I know it for a fact. CBD in junction with LASTMA patrol the whole Broad street , Marina and other part of central business district in Lagos Island and tow vehicles parked either on the kerb or anywhere not within ur premises .

Anywhere u see people parking outside on CBD in lagos , it’s because some agberos are collecting money there trust me .
If you go to places in Ikeja,
you'll see some companies using those places to park cars, and you'll see the Laspark sign there too.

It means those companies are paying for it. I have seen it before

U mean after paying land use charge , pay tenement rates to LGA’s , pay radio and TV fees ( in offices ) , pay corporate income tax, etc one is still expected to pay for having his or staff park in the office parking area ?

I guess this is where the IGR they always talk about comes from. Makes sense now .
Actually, the area is not in your premises. Its definitely outside your fence.

I also think that that particular area is not part of your property ie its not part of your land

Like in the picture below, if you decide to park on that kerb, that's when LASPARK will bill you.

Lagos for show
This is not new.

Companies pay for parking space right from time past. Maybe this owner is just hearing of it for the first time.

My only issue with this is why they should bill him completely for the year 2022 in August.

He should be billed half of fee, or they could evade it till next year so they can create that awareness for him and other businesses in the area.

But for the parking permit, its a way of generating revenue for the government

Did Femi Kuti also provoke them? Did Reno's child also insult them. Did S3un Osewa also insult them?

Its part of their DNA they should just own it
There's no where we can draw the line for Provocation.

Deborah was accused of blasphemy. She was burnt to death

Ochuko was found with a lady's private part. He was burnt to death.

If you don't condemn the attack (burning to death), we would keep shifting the line to where Provocation should start and where it should end.

Henry can claim he was provoked by another tweet somewhere. It is justified.

And the important lesson is that you have a right to defend yourself from attacks
Let's leave what Henry is typical of or not typical of.

From the Law of Attacking Unprovoked, there's a possibility Henry was attacking Tinubu's people because he was attacked Unprovoked.

So Henry can insult a whole tribe, a whole race, a whole religion, a whole group. The only justifiable reason is that he must have been attacked Unprovoked.

That is my own belief, I don't attack but when you attack, I am free to do anything I want to you.

He could have been attacked and then he tweeted that.

There is a difference between attacking and attacking unprovoked

Most people when you attack them they respond back with same energy. Even though you are a calm guy and do not attack first but if someone attacks you there is a likelihood you respond back

There is a trend with Obidients online on this thread and on tweeter in general where they attack people even attack their family members and even issue threats of death
So going by this statement, would Henry Shield be right for tweeting that if he was attacked unprovoked?

If you use this thread an an example, Which group of supporters have been attacking the others unprovoked?

I am sure for any Tinubu or Atiku supporter attacking here, its a response to attacks by the Obi supporters which is similar to what happens on all social media in the country

This thread is over 200 pages, Can you quote any Atiku or Tinubu supporter attacking an Obidient supporter unprovoked? Its usually one side that tags others as tribalists, Terrorists supporters, evil people
Good.

So we have moved from Attacks to "Attacking unprovoked"?

We have seen quotes from a Tinubu supporter attacking Igbos here...Mr Rib.bit. So was that provoked or unprovoked?

What is wrong is wrong, bros...But then, we should not justify it with who attacked first or not.

You don't know if the Henry Shield guy was attacked first (since we always have to go back in history to check)

That tweet was wrong. Condemn the tweet and the handle. It has nothing to do with Obidients

There have been many Atiku supporters or Tinubu supporters online, How many of them do you see threatening violence or attacking others

Why is these virulent attack on other supporters only seem to be coming from Obidients?

Reno has abused Tinubu multiple times sometimes even personal insults, how many times has Tinubu supporters threatened his children?
Let's use this thread as a case study.

Is it all Obidients that have wished attacks on others for not supporting Obi? Infact the number is lesser compared to those who will vote him.

You single out a tweet and call it the opinion of a group? How. So I could just call all Muslims Bandits and Terrorists because one group or groups is causing mayhem somewhere else?

I don't give 2 fcks about the tweet or any campaign propaganda. But we can do better than stereotyping a whole group because of a tweet.

Even the Obi himself, I have never seen him attack any of the candidates. So, why categorise his movement as insulting and vile just because of few people's opinions?

Everybody has extremists. That should be well known and understood, instead of unnecessary agenda

People carried Jonathan’s “coffin “ in 2012 and years later Jonathan confirmed that incident alone traumatized his mum who had lost other kids in the past . ( No parent will not be traumatized in such circumstance )
When it's against your candidate, it's bitter. Instead of condemning the tweet, attack the group

I'm not supporting that Henry Shield guy, but we all know there would be extremists in every group.

Stereotyping a whole group because of one person's tweet is funny. But then.....agenda has to ...

As President how will you address the following: Economy, Education, Security, Immigration, International Relations (Regional, Sub-Regional, and Global), Health, Food Security.
EDUCATION

The major problem we have, for me is a high percentile of illiteracy. The Government should channel its funding to the Basic Education. Primary and Secondary education should be a MUST, and the government should fund it. Its much cheaper to fund that, than the Tertiary that they are dragging everyday.

Also, another issue is understaffing for the UBEC. The NYSC comes into play here. I'll also suggest instead of swapping corpers from one region to another, those graduating from a particular state, should be retained there to fix the problems of the state; problems like lack of teachers. This would reduce redeployment and ghosting drastically.

If I graduated from Sokoto state University, I should serve in Sokoto. There's a high probability that I won't redeploy or ghost.., than sending a graduate from Lagos or Enugu there. In a situation where those already retained are few, then they can look at other states for numbers.

For the Tertiary, the government should privatise the University. Its time is up, to be honest. Let the private sector take over, and let the government have a limited number that they can take on scholarships in those schools.

So there should be a cut off mark for those that the government would put on a scholarship in UI, while those that didn't meet it should pay the full tuition. Instead of subsidising, they should profer scholarships. This also goes for Polys too

Then the government should service Skill centres. 2 years in a Skill acquisition centre is enough to learn technical skills, and the certificates there should be accepted in the job market. Instead of queuing up to join Polys and Unis, people should be encouraged to go there and learn.

The government should also abolish foreign scholarships. Its pointless funding people to go to Oxford when they won't come back and transfer that knowledge here. Rather, they should pay get a few foreign lecturers to come here and transfer that knowledge to the students here.

My hand dey pain me grin

As President how will you address the following: Economy, Education, Security, Immigration, International Relations (Regional, Sub-Regional, and Global), Health, Food Security.
The floor is yours.
In my own particular order,I'll start with

SECURITY
1) We are seriously understaffed. From 2007 to 2015, our strength grew by 38,000. But from 2015 till now, it grew by just 23,000. Quite paltry in relation to the increasing population and different wars we are fighting across different regions.

Now, another issues for Security is Funding. How do we ensure we raise money to fund the military, and also increase its strength?

While we can rely on other sources of revenue, we can also begin to involve the military into economic activities. The military can also be the workforce for the government. They should run businesses, and handle projects too. Projects can be awarded to the military to undertake, instead of Indians and Chinese. That way, there's this internal inflow of funds that leaves the government, back to the government. So while we fund the military with a limited budget, we can also be assured of more funds as the fiscal year runs.

Lastly, another issue is upholding the law. Of you arrest a man, and there are no stringent laws to send a message to the next criminal, it would be pointless. The reason we have bandits and different terror groups is majorly because of our inability to uphold stringent laws. I don't believe in negotiating with terror groups. The moment you begin negotiations, you have just given another empty room to another group to occupy.

We need to understand that any terror group cannot be negotiated with. Its a full blown war.

Let me stop here, so we can discuss this part first
