Maybe Kano. Rivers and AkwaIbom also, but they do default on pensions unlike Lagos.
Not only Kano, bros..

I have worked in a loan department of a generational bank

We give loans to civil servants up north than even the southerners. Those guys don't owe anything related to salaries

Even states like Yobe, Katsina pay promptly. You can never see their civil servants organising protests. Na South all these nonsense dey happen

Lagos is one of the only states in Nigeria that hasn't defaulted on salaries. Lagos and FG salary is the only sure salary in Nigerian civil service.

States that don't take health workers and teachers serious enough to pay them, why would they pay Police?
Some Northern states don't default in salary payments too

Theirs is even surer than the FG

If federal government can partner with some private sectors for education, health and security gradually things will get better. An average Nigerian don't care if government steal the whole national budget they just want to live their normal life.

Okay, you are now deviating sir grin

But then, the average Nigerian just wants to have basic amenities...It's doesn't matter what the government decided to exchange for it,..to him

Aliko is reconstructing Apapa Oshodi expressway for tax waivers..That's a good deal to me, even though I don't know how much Dangote would gain in the end

Even if the rich are assisting the government for something in return, at least, let them do their job or do the right thing

u the corporate bodies supporting them won't be for free right?

Dangote gave them nice cars I'm sure he will get something back
Lol grin
No naaa

See, their job is to respond to emergencies..They don't have checkpoints to do stop and search...

They don't go about parking cars or looking out for people that are suspicious..

All they do is respond to emergency calls. So even if Dangote gives them 2 billion, there's nothing they will give him in return..

If he's not being attacked or robbed, they have no business with him..That's how their structure is

They have private shareholders right?
Have been thinking why can't the federal government release the burden of some military or para military parts to rich civilians in exchange for the tax
With this embezzlement of public funds can also reduce
There are no private shareholders

What happened is the Lagos state government carved this unit out. They are being financed through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

Their primary task is to respond to emergencies... security emergencies..They have a toll free line. They have a structure, and they are assigned roles at specific areas in Lagos. For example, 3MB used to be notorious for robberies at night, but it has been minimal because the RRS are stationed 24 hours

Most importantly, they have a structure, so it's difficult for an officer to misbehave everytime

It's because of how organized the unit is, that's why corporate bodies decided to support them...Na still government get am

We are not even discussing this as much as we should be doing tbvh.

The cons has always been that State Police in the hands of our desperate politicians can be fatal but we can’t shy away from the pros which far outweigh the cons.

The first step is to have a new Police Act which will decentralize policing to the state and community level. Let every state and community police themselves. We have seen that this is possible with rrslagos.

Many fears is that won’t the state be owing them salaries has state government are notorious for owing salaries. An underfunded police is dangerous not to talk of one that his salary is not forthcoming.

The structure of state policing is there, our lawmakers are just sleeping on their jobs or they don’t know what to do.
This is a major reason why the police force have become a symbol of chronic corruption

Have you weighed its pros and cons?
It's cons wouldn't be as bad as what we have currently.

Our Police Force has gone so low now. SARS is just one issue. The others units are messed up too

Back then, Police men used stop and search to collect bribes. Now, they collect it openly. They even give you change sef grin...It has gotten to this level

I remember that Kolade guy that was killed by SARS in Mangoro some years back

His colleague was once my rider and he told me all that happened...How the guy was challenging the SARS officer, and how the officer pulled the trigger

The petrol station at Mangoro bus stop was where it happened. He even showed me the exact spot.

Imagine going to work everyday, and seeing the spot where your friend was shot to death...no justice still

I don't know how this can be handled oh, but you see reformation? E no go work

Anyone asking for SARS to be reformed is just trying to boil a rock... grin

I once drove on Uber, in Lagos, and I have been stopped by SARS because of my riders(Yahoo boys obviously) and I can tell you that 100% of the time, these guys only collect money from them..That's all

Do you know that Yahoo guys even have SARS officers on their payroll and even use them to witch-hunt their fellow scammers?

I don't want to even talk about the harassment on innocent citizens, just because they have a weird hairstyle or lifestyle. But when it comes to stopping crime, the SARS have done almost nothing

You are right if you say yahoo boys are partly involved and sponsoring this movement, but then the chicken has come home to roost. The numerous years of neglect, incompetence, and corruption have started to manifest
