From the comments I've read on this thread, it's very clear many Nigerians don't reason with logic, but rather with emotion and sentiment. It's really very sad.

If you knew about military hierarchy, you'd know that Corp members have the same right as the lietemenat to sit and enjoy the comfort of Officers Mess. The respect given to the lietemenat will be the same respect given to the Corp member.

Mind you, the Corp member is a graduate, and by so is eligible for Direct Short Service to become a commissioned officer herself.
